Ways To Keep It Low
These days we hear a lot of warnings about cholesterol, but the funny thing is, cholesterol isn’t all bad. Your body produces it naturally and it performs some pretty vital jobs – helping to build new cells, as well as produce hormones and insulate nerves. Only when you’ve got too much do you have a problem.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of confusion surrounding this substance because it’s made up of both good and bad cholesterol, and is known as HDL and LDL. So which is the good guy, and which is the bad guy ?
HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol is the good guy (higher the better), and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is the bad guy – the artery-clogging little devil.
Every Day Ways Of Keeping Your Cholesterol Low.
Watch your weight.
The more overweight you are, the more cholesterol your body produces. So if your weight is up, this is one more reason to bring it down, but do so with a healthy diet.
Cut Out The Fat.
You’d be wise to cut back on such sources of saturated fat as meat, butter, cheese and hydrogenated oil. Whenever possible, replace these items with fish, poultry, low-fat dairy products and polyunsaturated oils.
Switch To Olive Oil.
Olive oil contains monounsaturates which is said to help lower cholesterol levels if added to your food on a daily basis. Two or Three table spoons full a day should be sufficient
Go Easy On The Eggs
Don’t feel you have cut them out entirely, if you want to play safe then limit your eggs to about three a week, or use egg whites only.
Be Full Of Beans
Nutritious and inexpensive, beans and other pulses contain a water-soluble fibre called pectin that helps clear cholesterol out of the body.
Eat More Fruit
Fruit also gets it’s cholesterol lowering punch from pectin, so by eating lots of fresh fruit you will help to lower your cholesterol levels.
Have Your Oats
Oat bran also helps to lower cholesterol in a similar fashion to pectin rich fruit. In fact it was a high oat bran diet that helped me to reduce my cholesterol level. I used it on cereals, and mixed it into meals that I ate. It looks a bit like sawdust, but it’s really effective.
Other Foods That Are Recommended.
Carrots can lower cholesterol. Carrots by way of their pectin content the same as fruit. Two carrots a day should be enough to help when combined with other foods which have been recommended. Eat them raw if possible.
Take Garlic
Eat raw garlic. As well as reducing your circle of friends, it will reduce harmful blood fats. If you don’t fancy eating raw garlic, then use the liquid garlic extract which can be bought in capsule form. These can be purchased at your local supermarket or health food store.
Don’t Smoke
Studies have shown that heavy smokers have a higher cholesterol than non smokers, so here’s another reason to give up. You’ll also save yourself a bundle of cash as well ! – In smoking trials which were carried out in Sweden, smokers tended to suffer from low levels of the beneficial HDL cholesterol.
Medication – Drugs
There’s now plenty of drugs on the market for lowering cholesterol levels. But, as with all drugs there’s always side effects to take into account, so try the natural methods first. Only use drugs as a last resort.
When I found out my own cholesterol levels were high, I managed to get my levels back to normal by using the methods mentioned in this article. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it.

Silly.
Yes it may sound so. But it is not. And when your revenue is heavily depending on Google you cannot take risk of ignoring this bad habit residing in you.
Johny was working as netpreneur for last two years. His website was ranked very high in Google fetching a big chunk of regular customer from it. But Johny was a laid back entrepreneur. Who has a bad habit of procrastination. He has not updated his site for a long time. Johny noticed this, he worked very hard and gets some very good and some good content for his website written and compiled by his employee. And one day he uploaded his folder consisting of 800 new content rich pages. He was sure these pages would add great value to his website.
But in very short span he was sweating with surprise. All of his pages, who were ranked very high, were dropped in ranking. Some were clearing out of race. And them this happened.
There was no listing for the name of his website at all.
What has gone wrong? Nothing. Actually, it was the reason we all love Google. Google is the most advance spam avoiding search engine. It is very difficult if not impossible to spam website and higher rank in Google. Google hate this and ban any kind of spamming. On of its filter is to watch what is happen at the specific website. How the daily traffic and activities going on there at the website server. By analyzing this Google can predict future course of the website. What Johny did wrong was his website earlier pages were 1000 in number. He was not a regular man on his website. One day he uploaded a folder containing 800 pages. Which was a clear sign of spam from Google efficient filter?
This filter forces you to be serious on your website and upload or update your website at regular interval. It hardly matter how big or small update you are doing, but you do it regularly to keep Google inform and at alert. (What it always is) to inform Google about your website and what is happening there you can use Google service called Google sitemap. This is a technology developed by Google which keep informing the Google bot about all pages residing on the particular website server, time when it was last modified, what is regular interval of action on particular page and many other things.
This helps Google bot to decide when he can walk over your website for new content. Along that you also get listed in Google sooner than by using regular ways of doing thing.
So next time, if you are looking to update your website, do not be lazy. Do it in small step and on regular interval.
You may not be the spammer, but do not let Google catch you on wrong foot.

A manufacturer of cricket bat was lamenting over decline on the sale of cricket bats. But strangely his complaint was not against the ruthless competitors. But he was loosing business not to direct competitor but to the football equipment maker. Who were not their competitors at all before?
What went wrong in the manufacturer business? It is a clear sign that he was helpless his consumers taste and habits were changing. Activities on which he never can have any control. People are moving toward football rather than cricket. It simple fact that by buying a cricket bat or football people are not buying a good or tool to play. They are more interested in buying an activity. It is not that cricket bat has become less quality products than football. But it is a clear sign of bigger problem of cricket loosing out to football.
In automobile industry, Rolls-Royce and Cadillac are competiting against each other and you can say against a whole lot auto mobile. But from customer point of view, these are goods and means just to fulfill a value in the customer mind. It is just not transportation but a desire to be different and look stylish, which is firing the sales. But when you concentrate on customer satisfaction you competitors stands up from different sort of categories. In this particular case Rolls-Royce can face competition from Rolex, jewellery merchant like D’dmas, a cool vacation on luxury cruise etc.
World is changing so fast and so the customer habits of buying. You never know from where you will have a real competition coming your way.
Its time to wake up!

“Loosing My virginity” is an autobiography by Richard Branson, chairman of `virgin group’. This title was choosen over other title like `Virgin Group’ or something similar to that would have bring a boring & very sober review and attention of readers. It is not that what lies beneath, that is equally important. But first target of any initiative, marketing move should be targeted at capturing the mind space where it matter most in the customer mind. Marketing share initiative has only single target to achieve. Capture mind of customer before capturing the market share.
Marketing more should coerce prospect to ask questions. It is a fight rope to walk, as it has potential danger to confuse prospect. And a confuse prospect is a negative advocate for a brand. It is better not to touch them rather than confuse them. Move should generate curiosity not confusion. Mark H. McCormack called his flagship management book “what They Don’t Teach you at Harvard Business school”. A full sentence and a title, just not marriageable match. What would you say of “How you can manage your company” Not Good enough? And you must be sure it would have sold the book only to his Grandpa. Not even to his own managers. But word is Harvard Business School. Every know Harvard business School. What it teaches and the high quality of its graduates and faculty. So what they do not teach. “Let me know it”. And this feeling is the effect of the title. Managers buy book to seek edge. People buy it to learn more. But the concept is just not on Harvard or any business School. It is all about people in your face
, manager on their feet in the street battling the never lost, never won battle.
1984, the Super bowl stadium, Apple first introduces it desktop business machine through a $2 million advertisement of 30 second (mind it $2 million was a much bigger amount in 1984 than the $2 million itself.) Its central idea was, executive were sitting in front of a big computer like some pupil of a larger than life saint. And here comes a protagonist, a conformist with a Hammer in Hand and Bang. The master was in titter. His slaves are liberated. They have there own identity, their own world and their own business machine, Macintosh. Slogan states, `1984 will no longer be like 1984. “In the History of advertising it was a Moment lived once and never repented again. According to CEO, Apple, John Scholey in his book “the Odesy” people were literally taken a back and swept away with the advertisement. Consequence, the mighty old king, IBM lost the battle in a matter of 30 seconds. 30 seconds which were never seen again, never repeated and yet Macintosh swept the computer geeks as well as business people. No
doubt, product was beyond any imagination. But what put it in the mind of clients was its launch. It is always preached, “First impression is the last impression”. If you coerce the prospect to pick up the cradle and call you, Half the battle is won. Your next move is very trivial now. Just satisfy his very straight and simple queries. Sale is made.
Brand manager can argue that shortcut do not work in branding. A short term initiative, like shock marketing will hurt the product in long range. I accept and fully agree with them.
A different school of thought will say No short cut works in branding. A shock marketing and initiative can kill a brand. It will loose the serious marketing and initiative can kill a brand. It will loose the serious no-nonsense prospects and consumers. Right, absolutely right. But let’s go deeper into human psychology. All human being is attracted by some unusual objects, events. I am not saying these unusual events/ objects are some vulgar, out of world matters but yes it is not seen before. And that where shock Marketing initiative is done. Now it the products attributes, services qualities, the serious back up to Marketing initiative which will decide the success and conversion rate. Yes! Perception in the mind of consumer is more important and it is built by two steps.
1. Grab the attention.
2. Soothe the boiling Question or confusion.
In this ever contracting world, fast communication and blast of information channels, consumer is the target of attacks. He wants to guard his privacy by ignoring most of marketing initiative. So what matters most is to get him on your product & services and built the lead in conversion by step2. But even brand manager will not object here that the real hit is to get the consumer attention first hand other stuff falls consequencely.
As far as serious, no-nonsense customers are concerned they have and always concentrate on step2. It is close to impossible to get them fancy by step1. But any new marketing initiative will get these loyal customer pick up the cradle and call you. And that’s what I call the job of a Marketing initiative, to coerce prospect to get serious on contacting you.
There are very few Marketers who understand and manage the shock marketing well. Richard Branson, chairman, virgin group, is a flagship personality in that. His empire name is itself a rare example of shock marketing. A company who is still virgin for so long. As Branson put it in his book “losing my virginity”. It was decided by his group of girls & boys who were not virgin anymore.
`And there aren’t many virgins left around here,’ laughed a girl, It would be nice to have one here in name if none of us. `Great’, He said, `It’s Virgin’.
Nobody like virginity, but I like `virgin’…oops virgin Atlantic smile.

The largest hill settlement in the Kumaon region of Himalayas is the lake town of Nainital. A dramatic climb of 1,300 metres over a 40 km route from the railhead at Kathgodam takes the visitor through winding river valleys, alongside terraced farms, lush green alpine forests and over mountain ridges, right up to Nainital. Vantage points around Nainital offer a panoramic view of Himalayan peaks on one side and the plains rolling down on the other. Narrow wooded lanes through forests of oak, pine and deodar are excellent for short refreshing walks. The older parts of Nainital also retain colonial vestiges, including sprawling bungalows, public schools, church and the British cemetery.
On reaching the head of the town where the highway from the plains meets the main Mall at Tallital, you get a dramatic view of the beautiful Naini Lake nestling in its cocoon of hills. brightly coloured sails of yachts dot the calm waters of the lake while crowds of holidaymakers throng the Mall at its edge. Boating in the lake is just one of the favourite activities of the tourists who come to Nainital. Others come here for trekking in the still forested mountains that surround the town.
LOCATION
Nainital is 34 Km from Kathgodam, the gateway of Kumaon and the terminus of North Eastern Railway. It is 304 km from Delhi, capital of India, and 388 km from Lucknow. According to the District Gazetteer Nainital is situated at 29 degree 24′ north latitude and 79 degree 28′ east longitude, in a valley of the Gagar range running east and west, which is bounded on the north by the peak of China, which rises to a height of 8.568 feet, continued by the Alma peak (presently known as Snow-View) and the Sher-Ka-Danda to the eastern extremity, where the ridge descends almost to the level of the lake. On the west the rugged hill of Deopatha rises to a height of 7,987 feet, and on the south Ayarpatha attains an elevation of 7,461 feet diminishing gradually towards the east.
The town has the famous lake to which it owes its name. The surface of this lake has an elevation of 1.935 m above sea level. Maximum length & breadth being 1,434 m & 463 m.respectively.
Most Important Characteristics Of The Town
Nainital in Uttaranchal. and Srinagar in Kashmir are comparable as both have lake and mountain scenery. The two towns are nevertheless different in morphological structure and setting. While Srinagar has urban core off the Dol lake, the Naini has the entire town around it. Besides the hill resorts of Almora, Ranikhet and Kausani complexes, proximity to markets of the populous Ganga plain add immensely to the value of this centres.

In other words, virtuous wish a physical business needs an savoir-faire, so does a Web locate. It can’t have a Web land site and just “mystify it up” on the Web. Unless you want to set up your own host, you have to give out through a hosting company who gives you that address, including server space and bandwidth, that enables the hunt Databases and visitors to incur your situation.

You can ne’er find an actual person to speak to! We may have a twenty-four-hour customer service line open, but you can never get through to a real person.
Hosting companies often think that the “lowest Leontyne Price” will always get the sale, but they break down to realize that what people truly want is first-class customer’s serving, servers that are up almost C% of the time, and a variety of services that derive nicely the hosting packet.
Many hosting companies wear’liothyronine provide any other functionality other than WWW site hosting. She father’t provide a “control panel” wide-cut of goodies such as PGP secure e-mail, shopping carts, log analysis, database institution, etc.
Surmisal what? Technical underpin people often Don’t make the best “customer support” people. Him may be technical gurus, but their centered interest lies in their high technical school servers and other functionality, rather than solving the simple problems of their consumers.
In distinguishable words, sapless client service is a major problem nicely the majority of hosting companies these days. Root:
Unity recently was the pleasure of being unveiled to Burning Hosting Society, and to say Him was impressed is a vast understatement.
Hera are some things that struck me as unbelievable. When the phone rings, whoever answers the telephone is required to pedestal up to answer it and talk. After all, the swerve act of standing up requires that He’ray alert and are listening to your problems and concerns. And, you truly speak to a “very” person!

Forex signals are sent by a forex firm to their subscribers in order to buy and sell currencies. These signals are called entry and exit signals for the forex dealers. The firms, which send this forex signal, do so after tedious and meticulous research and analysis into the currencies that their dealers are trading in. For example a firm may send the entry and exit signals at designated time frames in real time. These will remain valid for a short period only after which they are going to be different.
Let’s say that there is a forex trading company say Acme Forex traders who send entry and exit signals to their clients in the following way
The first signal is provided to the trader at 08:30, and this signal is going to remain actual till 12.30
The trader will receive the second signal at 12.30, which would remain actual till 16.30.
The last signal would be sent to the trader at 16.30.
The transactions are given according to GMT. Please adjust for local time changes. The transaction shall be calculated till the signal is actual. The charges would be $300 per month per trader.
Forex dealers and experts provide forex-trading information and data to both institutional clients and individual investors and provide these kind of signals. Investors like to subscribe to credit worthy forex dealers / companies since their information and data would be genuine and more accurate. In fact many forex dealers would kill to get information before the rest of the market gets the same information. As forex dealing is a very competitive business.
These signals or forex indications are given to the forex dealers through the forex trading platform or hub. The signals or forex indicators are the specific entry and exit strategies. Therefore when you enter a currency trade buying currencies at lower price and then selling at higher price, you book a profit. currency pair. For example the forex dealer is trading in GBP/USD. The rate is for GBP/USD is .9800 . If you expect that Euro is likely to go up in the future you would buy the Euros today to sell them off at a later date thereby booking a profit. If you expect the dollars to appreciate, then you would buy the dollars selling them off at a later date to book profits.
Most forex dealers will get the information via email or straight on their computer screens. It is then up to the forex dealers to decide whether they want to sell / buy / hold the currencies till further information is given to them.
Those who contribute in giving the information on currency dealing are hedge managers, foreign exchange dealers located in the major financial markets of the world, professional stock brokers, finance managers and a host of other finance professionals. They make it their business to collect, analyze and disseminate information in such a way, that can be used by forex dealers to buy / sell / hold the forex.
Therefore the companies take extreme care to send the forex signals for the currency dealers.

How to Effectively Plan an Affiliate Site
Copyright 2004 by Shannon Herod
I was running out of patience and the hatred of it all was setting in. Whirling around the net searching for that one piece of gold that was going to set everything in motion and bring a windfall of cash was just a big waste of time. Thousands of dollars wasted and countless hours wasted with not one single return of investment.
That was the way that I started my business. As you can imagine I was getting nowhere fast. Setting up running and profiting from an Internet business takes more than just a web site, an e-mail account, and a computer. You need a plan of action, what direction are you going to go with your web site, what products will you promote, what other sources of revenue will you have, and many other factors will determine your success.
Affiliate Game Plan
I can give you a quick glimpse or taste of a simple plan that you can put in effect. This plane is going to focus on affiliate marketing in the arena of Internet marketing.
OK, here is a simple little plan but at least it’s a plan.
The first thing you need to consider is the products or services that you will be promoting. There is a ton of different products and services available for you to promote. Finding the right one that pays is the most important part. When considering what you will promote you need to look at a few different areas.
1. What percentage does that product pay
2. How well does the sales page convert
3. Does the sales page have cookies and how long does the cookie last
4. What is the minimum payout and how often do they pay
5. How long has the Company been in business
6. What type of reputation and customer service does the company have
These are a few things that I consider when looking at a product to promote. Always try and test a product before you put your name on a recommendation for that product. Just as this you are going to open a brick and mortar business your reputation is very important.
Web Site and Hosting
Next you need to consider the type of site you will build and the hosting company you will use. Your web site will be your virtual real estate and you need to assure that is in a good location. You can find many hosting options by just going to Google and doing a search for hosting company. When choosing a hosting company here is a few things that I consider.
1. How much bandwidth do they offer
2. How much disk space do they offer
3. How many mysql databases do they offer
4. Can I host multiple web sites from one account
As a beginner those four things should be the only things you really need to worry about. As you become more experienced and building web sites and programming there’ll be a few other options you will consider, but for now I think that should do.
The type of web site you build is going to be very important. Don’t worry if you are a complete moron when it comes to HTML there are plenty of what you see is what you get (wysiwyg) web site builders available just go to Google and search for web site builders.
A simple direct response web site should be your goal. You do not need to worry about building a fancy web site with a ton of graphics and fancy navigation bars. That piece of information alone should take your fear out of trying to build a site. Remember keep it simple stupid.
A direct response web site is just what it sounds like. Your main goal should be to capture your visitors’ name and e-mail address. You can do this by giving away a free report that you produced or by getting a report that has giveaway rights.
Build a List
You are going to want to build an opt in e-mail list so you can keep in constant contact with all of your leads. To do this you will need an autoresponder to make your life a whole easier.
Your goal with your opt in e-mail list should be to build a relationship so you can offer products that you recommend. Once you have a list that trust you making money is very simple.
The Process of Profit Maximization
Now there is a process you are going to want to take your visitors through in order to maximize your profits, here it is in a short description.
>From your opt in page you will want to lead your visitor to a thank you page that should offer some sort of up sell. Your thank you page should exit to the product sales page. Even will need to follow up with your new lead on consistent basis and offer information to help your new customer and occasionally recommend a product that you believe in.
That is a short version because I’m not trying to make this book just a quick little plan for you to follow.
That is a real quick plan of action that definitely need some more consideration, but hopefully it will get your wheels turning so you can expand on this idea to fit your business. There are many different things to consider like traffic generation and support but that is a whole new subject.
Do some research and try to expand on the ideas listed above. Your business should have goals and your goal should have plans of action. Put your mind to work, work up plan, and work your plan and success will be right around the corner.

Just look inside a computer case. At first glance, all those wires and components can look terrifyingly complex. And thinking about putting them all together by yourself may seem impossible.
Not to worry! Even though they are the products of advanced technology, the various pieces of a personal computer (PC) fit together with simple connections. If you can use a screwdriver and follow simple instructions, you can build your own PC.
Don’t be intimidated by the task of connecting the computer components together. Many of the internal connections are molded so that it is impossible to fit them together the wrong way. If you have ever assembled a child’s toy, you are more than capable of assembling a computer.
Advantages Of Building Your Own
You are probably asking yourself why anyone would bother to build a PC. After all, you can buy a cheap computer in almost any retail store.
If cost is your only consideration, you probably are better off buying one of those cheap machines. But if you have any special requirements for software or hardware, you’ll benefit from the total control over the type and quality of components you get from building your own PC.
You can save some money, too. Although you probably can’t match the price of the cheapest preassembled PC, once you begin adding on the inevitable customized hardware, the costs go up anyway. Suddenly building your own computer starts looking cheaper. And don’t forget–those super-cheap PCs are bare-boned systems. Unless you need a computer only for basic word processing and e-mail, you will probably have to upgrade anyway.
Building your own PC can be a great learning experience. You will gain a better understanding of how the various components work together, knowledge that can be useful for troubleshooting. If your computer ever breaks down, you may be able to pinpoint the problem and fix it yourself, saving money on expensive repair bills.
You are virtually guaranteed to get the best computer when you build your own system. Big retailers often use cheaper OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) components to cut down on costs. Components like these can compromise the performance of a computer system. Although you can buy OEM components yourself, the trade-off in reliability and stability is usually not worth it. Brand name components are just a bit more expensive, but are well worth the cost.
Disadvantages
The major disadvantage in building your own PC is that you don’t get a system-wide warranty. For example, if a malfunctioning motherboard fries your memory chips, you may not be able to get compensation for the damaged memory. If something like this happens with a store-bought system you could probably get the whole computer repaired under the warranty.
However, if you buy all your components at the same time from the same retailer, you are more likely to be compensated for this kind of situation.
Time is, of course, a factor. But it is educational time. And if you enjoy tinkering at all, it counts as fun time as well.
The Bottom Line
Building your own PC has a lot to offer. You’ll be assured of getting the best components available, which translates to the best and most reliable computer for your money. You will learn about computer components and how to choose parts with the best performance. When it comes to servicing your computer, you may be able to solve and fix the problem yourself.
Oh, and one final advantage. The bragging rights of telling your friends that you built your own computer. Priceless!

Seven Tips to Maximize Savings on Prescriptions
1. When you travel, bring a copy of your prescriptions with you.
– In Mexico, only a few meds require a written prescription because most of them are over the counter there. Take your prescription with you though, just in case your medication is the one that requires a written prescription.
– In Canada, a copy of your written prescription is mandatory. You will need to see a Canadian Doctor to get a Canadian prescription. Allow two to four hours for that because you’ll be waiting in a walk-in clinic on a first come, first serve basis. The Canadian Doctor will need to see a copy of your written prescription, consult with you, and there will be a charge for that service.
2. Check with the Medicine Program to see if you are eligible for assistance. Here is their contact information. P.O.Box 1089, Poplar Bluff MO 63902-1089 Phone: 866.694.3893 | Fax: 573.778.1420 | help@themedicineprogram.com | themedicineprogram.com
3. Veterans should check with the V.A. for updates on what is available now. Many don’t know what their full benefits are.
4. Contact the drug manufacturer. Sometimes they will give you a free treatment or a few months supply, if you can prove your need and are unable to pay for it.
5. Ask your Doctor for samples! Even if it’s short term, every little bit helps.
6. Ask your Doctor if he / she knows of someone who’s meds have recently changed, or if someone who died recently was taking the same pills as you.
7. Get your meds delivered by mail from Canada. Canadian medications are identical to American medications, the savings can be substantial and there are a number of generics there that are not available State side. Opening an account with a Canadian prescription service is easier than you think.

Know more about Influenza
Influenza better known as the “flu” is an infection of the respiratory tract that can affect millions of people. The influenza virus can be spread from person to person through coughing and sneezing of an infected individual.
Statistics show about 20,000 Americans die from influenza or influenza related pneumonia each year. Pneumonia and influenza are the sixth common cause of death in the United States. Elderly (65+) make up more than 90% of the 20,000 Americans who die from this illness each year.
A person may contract the influenza virus and not experience any symptoms for a few days. The incubation period for the influenza virus ranges from 1-4 days.
Is there more than one type of Influenza virus?
What is influenza?
There are three different kinds of Influenza viruses: Influenza A, Influenza B, and Influenza C. Influenza A can attack animals and humans, the remaining two (Influenza B and Influenza C) can only attack humans. Influenza C causes a very mild infection and does not provoke epidemics.
When observed through an electron microscope, influenza viruses are figured like filaments or spheres. Immunity to one strain of the influenza virus will not protect you against newly born strains of the virus, which has undergone minor changes or mutations.
The Influenza B and Influenza C virus may infect only human beings while Influenza A may infect several different types of animals. Influenza A virus can sicken many various types of animals, including humans, aquatic mammals, birds, horses, swine, and others.
At times when two different strains of viruses combine in humans or animals, they result in a new unique strain of virus with more immunity. The modern 2004 Influenza Vaccine is made of three strains, which include two strains of influenza A and one strain of influenza B.

People with large debts always assume they just can’t afford to get out from under their debts, so they let them pile up dollar-by-dollar, year-by-year. No one has to live with large debts, there is always a way out. Debt consolidation is for anyone who has debts and cannot currently afford to make their monthly payments. It’s so easy for multiple monthly payments to add up to the point where you just can’t do it anymore. So, you put it off for one month, and one month becomes three, three months become six, and before you know it you can’t possibly catch up. Debt consolidation can get you out of the debt trap that you’re in. Anyone who has debts that they cannot pay should at least consider debt consolidation before taking more drastic and permanent steps.
Only in very extreme cases is bankruptcy a good idea, most people can handle their debt through consolidation. Bankruptcy will leave a scar on your credit history for a long time, much longer than the seven years that people say it will. Unless a professional advises you that there really is no other way out of your debt, bankruptcy isn’t the answer! Debt consolidation is the perfect alternative to bankruptcy because with consolidation you can pay off your debts, and while it isn’t instant, it will improve your credit in the long run.
Debt consolidation works by gathering all of your debt, and working with the people you owe money to, to reduce interest and even take a small portion of the principal amount due off the bill. Doing this with each bill will lower your personal debt up to twenty percent, and when you are talking about large amounts of debt twenty percent can be a lot! Twenty percent can mean the difference between doable and bankruptcy. Twenty percent can mean keeping your home or having it foreclosed upon!
The first step after gathering all your debts and reducing them as much as possible is to do an income to debt comparison. This ratio will determine if debt consolidation really will work for you. For instance, if you make fifty thousand dollars a year and only have ten thousand dollars worth of debt, you’ll definitely be able to work out arrangements because your debt doesn’t greatly outweigh what you can bring in over a couple years time. But, if your income is only twenty five thousand dollars a year and you have a two million dollar debt, it may be difficult to ever get on top of that. Your debt needs to be something that you can realistically expect to pay off within a few years time. A debt consolidation professional can take a look at your specific debt to income ratio and let you know if you are a good candidate, of if you really need to consider bankruptcy as a last resort. Not paying on the debts isn’t an option, because bad credit robs you of your buying power, and you need that!
Even if you think that your debt is outrageously high, you should still consult with a debt coordinator. Even if your debts are high now, you should see what a debt consolidation company could do for you as far as reducing interest and debts. Don’t be discouraged until a qualified professional (or two!) can tell you that consolidation really isn’t an option for you. Don’t give up until you’ve tried everything, you can’t just roll over and taint your credit without being one hundred percent sure it’s your only option.
The majority of people do qualify for debt consolidation, which is great! Even though no one wants to pay a bill, many consolidators are able to get all of your debt into one monthly payment. One monthly payment takes the stress out of paying the bill, and also makes it fast and convenient. Your consolidator will work with you and your debt to determine what you can afford and what will make your debt collectors happy. Often, debt needs to be consolidated in two or three parts, to fit within your monthly payment. It would be ideal to do it all at once, but celebrate the fact that you are able to pay on your debts at all!
Debt consolidation isn’t easy, but it is the answer for all those bills and collection agencies that are calling you. Once the process is started, debt consolidation is easy, and relatively stress free. Be sure to be honest about what you can afford monthly, so as not to lapse on your consolidation payments. The last thing you want to do is take steps backward after you’ve come so far. Each time you make a payment on your debt you’ll feel the weight lifting, and you’ll be able to sleep better at night knowing you are making a dent in the debt you have.
No one tries to go into debt, but it’s easy to fall into a debt trap. Medical issues, financial strain, or job issues are common reasons for debt. Getting into debt isn’t fun, and getting out isn’t much fun either, but once you are there it’s worth the effort. And, living debt free is a lot more fun because you’ve regained your buying power. You’ll have a lot more respect for yourself and your ability to follow through, and other companies will be willing to give you a second chance when they realize you have righted your wrongs.
So, who is debt consolidation for? Everyone! Everyone should at least consider consolidating his or her debt. There is no easy way out of monthly payments that cannot be met, but this is the best way to get control back of your life and your finances. Even if you have huge debts, contact a debt consolidation company in your area for a free consultation! You’ll be so glad you did, because you’ll gain confidence, respect, and get some much needed guidance to succeed in the future!

Computer memory is called Random Access Memory (RAM). The information stored in RAM can be accessed randomly, rather than sequentially. This means that data can be found in any location at the same rate of speed. Other storage media, such as CD-Rom and hard drives, must wait while the drive spins to the correct location before the data can be accessed.
Computer memory is simply a storage area for the program code and the data that program uses. Computer programs use RAM to write and retrieve information, allowing for fast data retrieval and manipulation.
How Much RAM is Enough?
Simply stated, the answer is, as much as possible. Keep in mind, though, once you’ve reached a certain upper limit, which is determined by the computer program(s) used, investment in more memory will see a diminished return.
Adding more memory is one of the best ways to maximize computer performance. If you compare 2 identical computer systems, the one with the most memory will over-all be the faster. More RAM allows the computer to place more program instructions into memory, relying less on the slower hard drive.
Think of 512 Megabytes (MB) as the base standard for a modern computer. With that you can multi-task (run several applications concurrently). For instance, you can check email and download MP3s, without noticeable sluggishness.
Some applications, however, are more memory-hungry than others. Graphics programs, for example, are notoriously greedy. Memory needs are further exagerated by the operating system used. Microsoft Windows is far more demanding than, say, Linux. Currently, most PCs use Windows, though.
Should you notice your computer slowing down, consider adding more memory. Before committing to that option, however, try de-fragmenting your hard drive with a utility (program) designed for that sole purpose. A fragmented hard drive is a common cause of stalled computer performance.
Types of RAM
Right now DDR SDRAM is the most popular memory module. DDR stands for Double Data Rate, which means that the memory can be accessed twice per clock-cycle. SDRAM, the acronym for Synchronous Data Random Access Memory, has been the standard for memory modules for nearly a decade.
To add memory to your computer, you must install modules with the correct contact layout. Before purchasing new memory, you must know which type your motherboard will accept. The most common form factors are 168 pin, 184 pin and 200 pin.
You’ll also need to know whether there are slots available on your motherboard. If all the slots are already in use, you’ll have to replace 1 or all of the current modules with higher capacity ones. If there is at least 1 free slot, you can simply buy a new memory module and insert it in the empty slot.
A word of caution: whereas some motherboards can accept either SDRAM or DDR SDRAM, the 2 types cannot be mixed. You must decide on 1 or the other. Check the motherboard manual first to determine which kind of memory your computer requires.
And finally, when you are ready to install your brand new memory module, make sure of 2 things: the power is off (for your safety) and you are electrically grounded (for your computer’s safety).

Basically there are 3 methods available to you. You can visit a local bank, a local mortgage broker or apply online.
Visiting a local mortgage broker or bank can provide you with a great way to get in touch with a local person to discuss in person what kinds of things you are looking for in your mortgage loan. There are many different Memphis mortgage brokers here is a list of just a few.
ú Acceptance Mortgage Company, (901) 327-7337 3540 Summer Av
ú All Fund Mortgage, (901) 795-9250 5802 Winchester Rd
ú American Mortgage Corporation, (901) 366-4913 1345 S Prescott Rd
ú Bartlett Mortgage, (901) 257-7250 1020 Poplar Ave

ú Union Planters Mortgage, (901) 580-5000 5100 Poplar Ave # 150
Above is a sample list of mortgage Memphis brokers. The problem with local brokers is that you must contact and meet with each one individually. This can be a time consuming task especially if you don’t have a lot of free time to be looking for a mortgage. Perhaps you have other things to worry about like moving or a busy work and family schedule. An alternative to contacting your local brokers is to apply online.
Applying online is a great time saver. The way it works is you can simply visit a mortgage website and enter your information into a secured from. Once submitted the site will forward that information to hundreds most times, thousands of mortgage lenders. Now you won’t actually get contacted by all of them but a handful will contact you with an offer. This can be a great way to get a second opinion if you are using a local broker, or you can use just web lenders for your loan. Regardless of what methods you choose, I recommend you do both. Your mortgage is a big investment and you want to make sure you’re getting the best deal. You wouldn’t pick a car and buy from the first person who makes you an offer would you? The same applies with a mortgage loan. Shop around, get a few offers from different sources. If you do this you will find you have a good variance of offers and you can choose the best one for you. You many be pleasantly surprised how much you can save.

A mortgage is probably the single largest loan that most of us will have in a lifetime, and choosing to commit yourself to one can be a scary notion. There is very little else that can lay claim on your life for twenty years or more – though a mortgage is probably cheaper than having kids!
Choosing the right mortgage for you can be a difficult process, and it is always helpful to talk to an independent mortgage advisor if possible. These companies will be able to evaluate for you the options that are available, and help you work out which one is best for you. Modern mortgages are far more flexible than even the type of home loans that were available a few years ago, including different interest structures and repayment options. Regardless of your situation, there will a mortgage that will be suitable for you.
There are many things to take into consideration before selecting a mortgage, but the first must be a careful look at your current finances. There will be little enjoyment to be found in your new home if you can barely afford the repayments upon it. There are some 100% mortgages available, but not everyone is eligible for these, so ask your advisor about this. Otherwise, you will require a deposit of some amount, so evaluate your savings also before choosing a mortgage.
The amount of your mortgage will depend on your earnings, and most lending institutions will require proof of this, which can usually be obtained from your employer. There will be a different procedure if you are self-employed – this is another aspect that your mortgage advisor can help you with. If your own earnings are in sufficient to obtain the amount you require, there are other options available, including parental guarantee of the loan, if your parents are homeowners. A mortgage advisor will be able to give you all the options.
A mortgage is a long-term commitment but with the right advise you will be able to find one that will allow you enjoy everything about your new home without having to worry overmuch about your finances. So always do your homework before you apply, to help ensure that you will find the right deal for you.

VA loans are basically mortgages or home loans geared towards ex-military servicemen and women. The VA loan programme was created in 1944, and was initially known as the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act, to help returning servicemen settle down and purchase their first home.
There are, on average, over twenty-five million American who complete their military obligations each year. You are eligible for a VA loan if you are veteran who has been honourably discharged. The eligibility requirements vary, depending upon whether you served full-time or in the reserves, so check with your lender.
A VA loan will generally guarantee around 25% of the total home loan, up to $89,912.00. VA loans are often made by a variety of lenders, such as banks and savings and loans institutions. These loans act more as protection for the lender against loss at a later date.
There are many advantages to taking out a VA loan, if you are eligible to do so. For example, the fees associated with taking out a VA loan are relatively inexpensive. Most lenders only require approximately 2% of the total loan, but bear in mind that you will still be required to pay some of the associated costs, such as recording fees and appraisal and compliance costs.
Even if you have poor credit, you may still be eligible to apply for a VA loan. The lender will initially analyze your credit history, checking to make sure that you have been making all of your credit and utility payments on a regular- and timely- basis. Even if you have been delinquent, you can still be eligible, but you may have to work with the lender and will most likely be required to make a down payment for your home.
VA loans are generally a good idea for those who have just left the military, because it allows them to start the resettlement process by buying their own home. These loans are usually easy to apply for, and don’t require a hefty down payment, as required by traditional mortgages. Technological developments have made the whole process easier, by allowing some applications to be processed by the lender immediately, making these readjustment loans a great way to start your civilian life.

You’ve finally found that dream home that you have always been searching for, but you are afraid to apply for a mortgage because you have bad credit or less than perfect credit.
Before you give up entirely, there are many mortgage programs that are geared towards people just like you. Here’s a short guide to finding the best one.
The first step in getting a home loan is to find out what your actual credit score is. This will help to protect you against lenders taking advantage of you because of your poor score. Some companies may try to charge a higher interest rate than the applicant’s score actually warrants, so being prepared is very important. There are many services to help you find and manage your score, so take advantage of them.
Once you know your score, you can then begin to look around for the best mortgage program. Generally speaking, lending agencies categorize credit scores based upon a ranking system. The A- category is for those with the best credit; the D-category is for those with the worst credit history. But even if you fall into the last group, you should be able to find a mortgage scheme.
There are companies that will work with you, regardless of whether you have tax liens, judgements, charge-offs or collections. Many of these companies will probably assign you a higher interest rate than those with good credit, and perhaps even require you to put down a larger deposit on your home. On average, those with poor credit histories are only able to finance approximately 80% of the total asking price, so you will be required to put down the difference.
Even if you have a history of bad credit, or county court judgements levied against you, you should find a mortgage lender who will be sympathetic towards your individual situation.

Before you consider taking out an interest-only mortgage, you should first understand what they are. Unlike traditional, fixed-rate mortgages, interest-only mortgages allows the borrower to initially pay the interest on the principal for a short period of time, rather than making payments on both the principal and the interest. This is how it works: say, for example, you’ve taken out a mortgage for $100,00.00, which would require a monthly payment of around $1,000.00. However, with an interest-only mortgage, the same payment would only amount to around $695.00. You could use the extra money to pay existing debts, like credit cards or student loans, or perhaps invest it.
The concept of an interest-only home loan is not a new one. A descendant of the jumbo market, these types of mortgages were initially geared towards those who intended to utilise the excess cash for other types of investments. This is an ideal option for the market-savvy investor, as it frees up some income for other projects. However, this type of mortgage has now entered the mainstream market, and is available to most home buyers.
There are many benefits associated with taking out interest-only loans. They allow younger buyers to take advantage of a developing real-estate market, giving them the opportunity to afford a slightly higher priced home.
Before taking out an interest-only mortgage, there are few things that you must take into consideration. While the thought of only having to pay for interest for the next few years may seem very tempting, you must remember that when the interest-free grace period is over, you will have higher payments than you would have with a traditional mortgage. Many young couples do not account for this, assuming that they will be earning more money in the future, not anticipating that they may face financial hardships down the road, thus putting their home at risk.
While there are many advantages to taking out an interest-free mortgage, it is important to remember that the grace period will not last forever and that the monthly payments will eventually go up. As long as you make financial plans for the future, taking advantage of an interest-only mortgage could allow you to increase your financial well-being, bringing you peace of mind.

One of the key essentials when it comes to making you and your business successful is advertising.
Unfortunately most of us cannot afford to advertise during the super bowl with commercials, or place digital signs along Times Square.
Beyond the mailers and business cards, there is another way to get your name and product circulating among the masses.
The best part of it is, it will cost you next to nothing, and your customer will be doing all of the work for you.
A personal story . . .
When I was in the mortgage business, I found out by accident one of the best ways to advertise myself and my business.
I have always found it to be in good practice to show my appreciation to my customers by sending them a token of my appreciation by sending them a thank you gesture of some kind, once the loan was closed.
As time went on, and I began to make a little more money, I had a few extra bucks to spend on my high end customers to show them my appreciation for doing business with me.
Not that I was spending a fortune on my customers, just a few extra dollars on every loan closing, it only seemed fair.
Then something extraordinary happened.
I had a couple who had just settled on their first home. Around the time that they had just moved into their new home, I sent them both a gift basket to their respected places of employment.
When the gift baskets arrived, they were thrilled to death. Of course everyone in their office was curious and wanted to know where the gift basket came from and who sent it, and of course my customers were happy to tell them all about me, and all I had done for them.
This lead to many questions from the on lookers. A few of their co-workers just so happened to be in the market for a mortgage, and they asked if they could have my information, which was happily surrendered.
Think about it, when some at your office receives flowers, balloons, or a gift basket, aren’t you curious to know who sent them? Most of us are.
>From this one gesture alone, I ended up closing two more loans. And of course, when those two loans closed, I did the same thing with the gift basket, and it had the same effect.
It then dawned on me that I could really make this technique work for me.
Not only did I send my customers gift baskets upon the closing of their loan, I would send one when the loan was approved and when their appraisal came in. This gave me three attempts at getting the attention of their entire office.
Definitely think about doing something along these lines. There is no better, or cheaper way of getting the attention of a whole lot of people at once. Trust me, this technique works, it worked for me, and it can work for you!

Everyone knows the importance of having a positive attitude, especially in the health insurance industry. Even negative people say that they have a positive attitude.
All agents have seen it one time or another. They are at a meeting, and in the hallway during one of those five minute breaks they notice a woman on the telephone. In fact, she’s on the phone on every break. Finally one agent says, “calling your husband, huh?” to which she quickly responds, “No! Setting appointments.” She’s obviously protecting or insuring her `good attitude’. She’s making sure that the outside influence of a meeting will not affect her production goals or her `good attitude’.
Or, what about the guy who’s sitting at a table by himself at the Monday morning `turn-in’ meeting. He’s busy wrestling with a pile of papers and hasn’t said a word to anyone. Someone goes up to him and says something about the monsoons or scorching heat or earthquake in China last week and he barely acknowledges their presence. “All those papers must be apps”, he mutters to the group in the hall.
An example of Attitude Insurance:
Sam, a new agent, rode with John, a seasoned pro, for a week. Monday, John finished setting up his week. He already had about eight appointments and added another 7 or 8. It didn’t look too difficult, people just seem to like him. On Tuesday, things started going bad. The first appointment wasn’t there so they just introduced themselves to a few other businesses. The next person didn’t qualify medically, but they did sell the NBA membership and a critical illness policy. Wednesday they encountered severed thunderstorms. Their first appointment was the owner of a tow trucking company and was a no-show. They went next door to a beauty shop and found five beauticians and a receptionist looking very bored because all their customers had canceled due to the weather. They took to them immediately, offering coffee and a place to dry off. During the three hours before their next appointment, they wrote up every one of those ladies.
Still raining something awful, they went to their next appointment. It was a mechanic shop on the other side of town. The rain was blowing completely horizontal with no signs of letting up, so they made a mad dash for the door. The ground was so soft that Sam lost one of his brand new shoes in the mud. The owner and one employee helped them in and long story short, was so impressed with John’s presentation that he quickly called his brother over. They ended up selling 3 families. Thursday, John’s car broke down on the way to their appointments. So they had to call Sam’s wife to pick them up and use his car the rest of the day. John had over $20,000 in AV that week. He never once let the elements get in his way. He was constantly thinking of positive solutions to every situation. It was John’s best week to date.
So, where does attitude insurance come from? Attitude insurance comes from the same place things like honor, discipline and integrity come from.inner self. An agent’s friends and co-workers surely help but for him to truly have the good attitude, he will have to be the one to get it and protect it. The agent is the only one who can give himself an Attitude Insurance Policy.
The really great news is that there is no cost associated with obtaining this policy. Not in terms of money anyway. The cost is the agent’s action and their discipline. Agents must discipline themselves to take action against all those outside forces that adversely affect their good attitude.
By not protecting his attitude, an agent’s focus and ability to perform sound reasoning will be destroyed. Failure to protect a good attitude will certainly feed a bad attitude.
If an agent wants to make $4,000 a week selling insurance, he can. But if he sets a goal to make $4,000 a week and doesn’t do his due diligence to gain the proper knowledge and discipline, it won’t happen. And what do happens next? Well, believe it or not, this person is now looking for ways to cancel their Attitude Insurance Policy. They actually seek out other unsuccessful people to confirm their lack of success is justified — again, from another unsuccessful person.
Dropping attitude protection, even for a moment, can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Ironically, highly successful people who encounter great challenges have those really huge Attitude Insurance Policies.

The first step in deciding whether to start a business is to ask yourself this important question: “Do I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur?” A variety of experts have documented research that indicates that successful small business entrepreneurs, whether male or female, have some common characteristics. How do you measure up? It will be up to you — not someone else telling you — to develop projects, organize your time and follow through on details.
Contrary to conventional opinion, an entrepreneur can be either an introvert or an extrovert. The basic difference is, introverts tend to focus their energy internally and often work better by themselves. Extroverts focus their energy externally. They usually work better in groups, or teams. Very few people are completely one way or the other. Most fall somewhere in between. True entrepreneurs:
1. Have a passion for what they do.
2. Have “street smarts.” They don’t stay locked up in their ivory towers.
3. Have the capability of excelling in at least one area of business.
4. Become an authority on what they do, and monitor the progress of their endeavors.
5. Are team builders. They excel at bringing people into the enterprise who are smarter and more skilled in specific areas.
6. Ask for what they want and need and are relentless and tenacious at problem solving.
7. Realize the need for the help and support of others.
8. Understand that success rarely comes without total commitment. The only limitations they face are the ones they impose upon themselves.
9. Have high energy.
10. Have extraordinary self-confidence.
11. Set long-term goals.
12. Perceive money as a measure of accomplishment.
13. Persist in problem-solving and have a knack for getting more accomplished with less.
14. Take initiative and moderate risks, learn from failure, and seek and use feedback.
15. Accept personal responsibility, and use all available resources.
16. Believe that success or failure lies within their personal control or influence.
The most successful entrepreneurs are certainly not the most intelligent or the most highly educated. But they are creative, highly motivated, intuitive and possess the ability to recognize opportunities when they spot them.

Are you sick and tired of not knowing what to bring or what to cook when you go camping? Do you either pack the entire kitchen (including the sink) or you bring the absolute minimum and then have to use a fork as a spatula or two spoons as tongs?
If that sounds even the slightest bit familiar then you are in the right place. Over the past decade or so I have refined a list of 7 things that I use every single time I prepare for my next camping trip.
These strategies are relevant whether you are car camping, primitive camping, RV camping, scout camping or large group camping. You can very easily apply them across any type of trip, which is what really makes them worthwhile.
So here they are:
1. Plan the Meals – Okay common sense right? Well If I didn’t include this as the first and most important item I would get hollered at! But seriously, if you don’t plan the meals ahead of time not only do you not know what you’re going to eat you also have no idea what to pack as far as cooking gear is concerned. Do you need a spatula or tongs? Do you need a strainer or a frying pan?
2. Plan the Gear – This follows directly from number 1. Now that you know what you are going to eat for the trip you can now figure out exactly what utensils, pots, pans, containers and other miscellaneous cooking gear you need. And more importantly what gear you don’t need! My family and I do a lot of tent camping which means that we take my wife’s SUV, so we have a very limited amount of room that we must pack all of our “stuff” into. If I only need a 2 quart pot and a small frying pan well guess what, the 9 other pots and 4 other frying pans stay at home!
3. Plan the Condiments – Have you ever went camping and once you get there you realize that you don’t have ketchup, mustard or relish for your nice, hot and juicy steakburger you just cooked for yourself? Have you ever went camping and it took you 10 minutes to find the garlic powder because it found it’s own way to the bottom of the box you keep all your spices in? There is a fine line between having too many spices/condiments and not having enough but you have to walk that line. Even if you have a 40 foot Class A Mega Super Duper Motor home, you only have so much space. Sit down and look at the recipe’s you are going to use and then figure out what spices/condiments you can bring and which ones to leave at home.
4. 10% Above – Get 10% more food then you think you should take. If your family usually eats 4 hamburgers, take 5 or 6. If they usually eat 6 pieces of Corn on the Cob take 8. I don’t know for sure what it is but whenever you go camping everybody seems to be HUNGRY all the time. It might be because they are running around doing more stuff or it might be something in the air, I don’t know.
5. KIS – Keep It Simple. Realize that you are going to be in the middle of the woods. Is it possible to cook a Rack of Lamb with Herb-Dijon Nut Crust, Parisienne Potatoes, Green Beans Wrapped In Carrot Ring and Pureed Sweet Potato Basket? Yes it is technically possible. Should you attempt it? Heck NO! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying to plan 3 square of milk and cereal. I am saying to remember where you are going to be and the mostly primitive cooking tools you will have at your disposal.
6. Test Runs- If you are planning on cooking on a campfire, or using a new grill, or cooking in your RV for the first time on your next trip.Don’t Do It! Always, always, always do a test run at home before you get out there. Build a little fire in your backyard and figure out if you need some charcoal to bolster the wood fire and make it cook more evenly. Make sure you know how to hook up that new grill and where the hot spots are. It is really not a lot of fun to get out into the woods somewhere and burn your dinner to a crisp or have it sitting in the bottom of the campfire because of a “equipment malfunction”. So always do a test run.
7. Try a new Treat – Remembering strategy number 6, my family always tries a new treat whenever we go camping. Whether it be a new recipe for our green bean casserole or a naughty little after dinner snack, we try something new every time. This doesn’t have to mean something exotic that you’re not sure the animals would even like. Just look around on the internet, there are a ton of campfire / Dutch oven recipes out there for you to try.
Well that’s it, that’s my list of 7 Need to Know Campsite Cooking Strategies. This is not a wish-list or a group of things I pulled out of thin air. I use this list each and every time I plan a trip for my family, my friends and my troop. This list if used properly will keep you in good stead for your trips. You won’t run out of food, you won’t eat bland food, you won’t bring home a ton of unused and possibly spoiled food and most importantly dinner won’t be a chore while camping.

September 11th, 2001 was a day the whole world will always remember. It changed how many people do things, even how they select holiday greeting cards.
The morning of September 11th, 2001, was sunny and warm, and it started out like other mornings which had come before it – people hurried to work, kids rushed off to school, and people boarded airplanes. But, September 11th, soon became the day that changed a nation and forced the world to recognize the threat of terrorism. It was a day when 2,986 lives were brutally ended, as the rest of America watched in helpless horror.
The effects of 9/11 have dramatically changed our country and our world; a casual trip to the airport is now a strictly regulated activity, aware citizens are now our first line of defense, and our nation’s borders have been tightly sealed.
On the fourth anniversary or this event, we are realizing that not only has this tragedy changed how our nation functions, but it has even trickled down to influence such things as a person’s selection of a Christmas greeting card. Design Crafters, has been selling Christmas and holiday greeting cards since 1996. Debby Sibert, the owner of that company said, “Before September 11th, no one seemed to offer patriotic holiday cards. Patriotism seemed a sentiment reserved for holidays like Memorial Day or Independence Day. All this changed in the aftermath of September 11th, and we began to receive calls from customers asking if we sold patriotic Christmas cards.”
The tragedy of 9/11 caused great pain, but it also birthed a new sense of unity to a nation filled with people of different origins and beliefs. People began to see that, like Christmas cheer, patriotism should be celebrated the whole year through. Other custom card companies soon began to receive inquiries about patriotic Christmas cards. Many in this business thought that this trend would end after one or two years, but September 2005 will mark the four year anniversary of the tragedy – and our Patriotic cards continue to be in popular demand.
Choosing a patriotic card does not mean that Christmas, as its own special holiday, is lessened. Card designers have created clever ways to show both one’s love of Christmas and one’s patriotism. Cards featuring ornaments decorated with the stars and stripes, a snowman proudly holding a flag, or a wintry wonderland overshadowed by a waving flag high on a pole, are all ways that this is accomplished. Many of these cards still feature traditional verses which speak of love, peace, and gratitude – but some have added language which lends more to a patriotic nature. Some examples of these verses are seen below:
At this holiday season we remember and honor
those who are no longer with us
and cherish those who are.
We wish you a world of peace.
May Peace fill the hearts of people everywhere
and join all nations of the world in brotherhood
May the Spirit of the Holidays remind you of the strength
and perseverance of our nation and its people
These verses are only a highlight of the changes which have been seen in the Christmas card selections available since after 9/11. As our nation enters yet another Christmas season we are thankful for the blessings we have received, the great liberties we are privileged to, and, most especially, for the lives that have been sacrificed so that we may celebrate the holidays in peace and love. Visit www.DesignCrafters.com for an example of these patriotic Christmas cards and an wider range of holiday cards.

I know at first glance this sounds obvious, but it may be worth it for you to think about your prices. At least just for a moment.
How did you decide on your current pricing? Did you conduct market research to understand what prospects would pay? Or did you compare yourself to your competitors and base your price on that? Or was it a crapshoot, and random shot in the dark?
These are the ways most people do it, and they are all wrong. Because the price you set for your products and services is more important
than you think.
The following few paragraphs are a bit number heavy, but stay with me because this will be really valuable for you to understand.
Let’s say you sell a high margin product – information products and software are two good examples. Your price is $60, and your costs are
$10 – that means your gross margin (selling price – your costs) is $50 each time you sell one unit. Let’s say further that your overhead is $5,000 per month. If you sell 100 units you’ll break even, right?
Now you want to sell more, and decide you can take some business from a competitor by lowering your price – temporarily. You lower it to $40
- a 33% price cut, and not uncommon.
Your costs remain $10 and your overhead is still $5,000, only now your gross margin is $30 – 60% of what it was before. And how many units do
you need to break even now? 166! That’s 66% more unit sales required to make up for the 33% price cut!
But what if you’re feeling very aggressive and you cut your price in half (also not unheard of) to $30. Now you have to sell 250 units – just to break even! That’s 2-1/2 times as many as before. How easy do you think that’s going to be?
Let’s use a different example – something that has real manufacturing costs. This time, your product sells for $100, and your cost of goods
are $50 per unit, for a gross profit of $50. Same $5000 overhead, same number of units to break even. Now imagine you cut your price 20%, to $80, leaving you with $30 of gross margin. You need to sell 66% more units. Ouch!
What if you cut the price to $70. This 30% price cut means you have to sell 2-1/2 times more units – just to stay even.
Let’s go further…
Competition is really heating up and you think that matching them cut for cut is the way to go. The price for this amazing widget of yours is now a bargain basement $60.
(Shucks, that’s only 40% off your original price. Salespeople and business owners do this every day.)
How many units do you need to break even? 500.
Five hundred? That’s five times your original number.
Do you really think you can sell five times what you did before – at least without significantly raising your overhead and your variable cost of sale?
How many times have you done just this in response to competitive pressures?
How many times have you cut prices because you thought it would help you sell more?
:(:(
What we’ve just done is a simplified version of what’s called margin analysis, and I hope it gives you a glimmer of what can happen when you mis-price.
For the most part, your price cuts don’t automatically enable you to sell 66% more than you did before, and generally – at least not in
this universe – you don’t sell 250% more, and never, ever do you sell 500% more with this kind of price cutting.
But there is some good news – and it’s very good.
Let’s look at what happens when you raise your prices.
Remember your high-margin product. It sells for $60 and costs $10 to make.
Through good product positioning and excellent marketing you raise the price to $70. That’s only a 15% increase. Now you only have to sell 83 units to break even, and if you sell the same 100 units, your profits go from $0 to $1000. Nice increase…
And that “hard” product – the one with $50 of costs? Raise the price tag 20% to $120, your margins increase to $70, and now your breakeven
drops 71, and you make $2000 if you sell the same number of them.
See how this works?
:):)
You can do this same analysis in a bit more sophisticated way, considering your marketing costs, sales or affiliate commissions, travel expenses if you have them, and so on. You can see the actual pricing effect varies quite a bit depending on these details.
If you have a high-leverage, pay-only-for-results affiliate model, a very high gross margin and almost no fixed overhead, you have a lot of price flexibility. You can cut the price 25% and only need to sell 15% more! That’s not too bad at all.
But only in that type of model. If you have a office, some staff, and a physical product – in other words, fixed overhead – lower prices can
kill you – and you won’t even see it coming.
And higher prices?
They can make you rich.
By now you are starting to see the tragic effects of mis-pricing on the downside, and the marvelously enriching possibilities of raising
your prices.
This only works, of course, when you can also increase your value proposition…
Stay tuned for part 2.

Each of us has been faced with the problem of searching for information more than once. Irregardless of the data source we are using (Internet, file system on our hard drive, data base or a global information system of a big company) the problems can be multiple and include the physical volume of the data base searched, the information being unstructured, different file types and also the complexity of accurately wording the search query. We have already reached the stage when the amount of data on one single PC is comparable to the amount of text data stored in a proper library. And as to the unstructured data flows, in future they are only going to increase, and at a very rapid tempo. If for an average user this might be just a minor misfortune, for a big company absence of control over information can mean significant problems. So the necessity to create search systems and technologies simplifying and accelerating access to the necessary information, originated long ago. Such systems are numerous and moreover not every one of them is based on a unique technology. And the task of choosing the right one depends directly on the specific tasks to be solved in the future. While the demand for the perfect data searching and processing tools is steadily growing let’s consider the state of affairs with the supply side.
Not going deeply into the various peculiarities of the technology, all the searching programs and systems can be divided into three groups. These are: global Internet systems, turnkey business solutions (corporate data searching and processing technologies) and simple phrasal or file search on a local computer. Different directions presumably mean different solutions.
Local search
Everything is clear about search on a local PC. It’s not remarkable for any particular functionality features accept for the choice of file type (media, text etc.) and the search destination. Just enter the name of the searched file (or part of text, for example in the Word format) and that’s it. The speed and result depend fully on the text entered into the query line. There is zero intellectuality in this: simply looking through the available files to define their relevance. This is in its sense explicable: what’s the use of creating a sophisticated system for such uncomplicated needs.
Global search technologies
Matters stand totally different with the search systems operating in the global network. One can’t rely simply on looking through the available data. Huge volume (Yandex for instance can boast the indexing capacity of more than 11 terabyte of data) of the global chaos of unstructured information will make the simple search not only ineffective but also long and labor-consuming. That’s why lately the focus has shifted towards optimizing and improving quality characteristics of search. But the scheme is still very simple (except for the secret innovations of every separate system) – the phrasal search through the indexed data base with proper consideration for morphology and synonyms. Undoubtedly, such an approach works but doesn’t solve the problem completely. Reading dozens of various articles dedicated to improving search with the help of Google or Yandex, one can drive at the conclusion that without knowing the hidden opportunities of these systems finding a relevant document by the query is a matter of more than a minute, and sometimes more than an hour. The problem is that such a realization of search is very dependent on the query word or phrase, entered by the user. The more indistinct the query the worse is the search. This has become an axiom, or dogma, whichever you prefer.
Of course, intelligently using the key functions of the search systems and properly defining the phrase by which the documents and sites are searched, it is possible to get acceptable results. But this would be the result of painstaking mental work and time wasted on looking through irrelevant information with a hope to at least find some clues on how to upgrade the search query. In general, the scheme is the following: enter the phrase, look through several results, making sure that the query was not the right one, enter a new phrase and the stages are repeated till the relevancy of results achieves the highest possible level. But even in that case the chances to find the right document are still few. No average user will voluntary go for the sophistication of “advanced search” (although it is equipped with a number of very useful functions such as the choice of language, file format etc.). The best would be to simply insert the word or phrase and get a ready answer, without particular concern for the means of getting it. Let the horse think – it has a big head. Maybe this is not exactly up to the point, but one of the Google search functions is called “I am feeling lucky!” characterizes very well the existent searching technologies. Nevertheless, the technology works, not ideally and not always justifying the hopes, but if you allow for the complexity of searching through the chaos of Internet data volume, it could be acceptable.
Corporate systems
The third on the list are the turnkey solutions based on the searching technologies. They are meant for serious companies and corporations, possessing really large data bases and staffed with all sorts of information systems and documents. In principle, the technologies themselves can also be used for home needs. For example, a programmer working remotely from the office will make good use of the search to access randomly located on his hard drive program source codes. But these are particulars. The main application of the technology is still solving the problem of quickly and accurately searching through large data volumes and working with various information sources. Such systems usually operate by a very simple scheme (although there are undoubtedly numerous unique methods of indexing and processing queries underneath the surface): phrasal search, with proper consideration for all the stem forms, synonyms etc. which once again leads us to the problem of human resource. When using such technology the user should first word the query phrases which are going to be the search criteria and presumably met in the necessary documents to be retrieved. But there is no guarantee that the user will be able to independently choose or remember the correct phrase and furthermore, that the search by this phrase will be satisfactory.
One more key moment is the speed of processing a query. Of course, when using the whole document instead of a couple of words, the accuracy of search increases manifold. But up to date, such an opportunity has not been used because of the high capacity drain of such a process. The point is that search by words or phrases will not provide us with a highly relevant similarity of results. And the search by phrase equal in its length the whole document consumes much time and computer resources. Here is an example: while processing the query by one word there is no considerable difference in speed: whether it’s 0,1 or 0,001 second is not of crucial importance to the user. But when you take an average size document which contains about 2000 unique words, then the search with consideration for morphology (stem forms) and thesaurus (synonyms), as well as generating a relevant list of results in case of search by key words will take several dozens of minutes (which is unacceptable for a user).
The interim summary
As we can see, currently existing systems and search technologies, although properly functioning, don’t solve the problem of search completely. Where speed is acceptable the relevancy leaves more to be desired. If the search is accurate and adequate, it consumes lots of time and resources. It is of course possible to solve the problem by a very obvious manner – by increasing the computer capacity. But equipping the office with dozens of ultra-fast computers which will continuously process phrasal queries consisting of thousands of unique words, struggling through gigabytes of incoming correspondence, technical literature, final reports and other information is more than irrational and disadvantageous. There is a better way.
The unique similar content search
At present many companies are intensively working on developing full text search. The calculation speeds allow creating technologies that enable queries in different exponents and wide array of supplementary conditions. The experience in creating phrasal search provides these companies with an expertise to further develop and perfect the search technology. In particular, one of the most popular searches is the Google, and namely one of its functions called the “similar pages”. Using this function enables the user to view the pages of maximum similarity in their content to the sample one. Functioning in principle, this function does not yet allow getting relevant results – they are mostly vague and of low relevancy and furthermore, sometimes utilizing this function shows complete absence of similar pages as a result. Most probably, this is the result of the chaotic and unstructured nature of information in the Internet. But once the precedent has been created, the advent of the perfect search without a hitch is just a matter of time.
What concerns the corporate data processing and knowledge retrieval systems, here the matters stand much worse. The functioning (not existing on paper) technologies are very few. And no giant or the so called search technology guru has so far succeeded in creating a real similar content search. Maybe, the reason is that it’s not desperately needed, maybe – too hard to implement. But there is a functioning one though.
SoftInform Search Technology, developed by SoftInform, is the technology of searching for documents similar in their content to the sample. It enables fast and accurate search for documents of similar content in any volume of data. The technology is based on the mathematical model of analyzing the document structure and selecting the words, word combinations and text arrays, which results in forming a list of documents of maximum similarity the sample text abstract with the relevancy percent defined. In contrast to the standard phrasal search by the similar content search there is no need to determine the key words beforehand – the search is conducted through the whole document. The technology works with several sources of information that can be stored both in text files of txt, doc, rtf, pdf, htm, html formats, and the information systems of the most popular data bases (Access, MS SQL, Oracle, as well as any SQL-supporting data bases). It also additionally supports the synonyms and important words functions that enable to carry out a more specific search.
The similar search technology enables to significantly cut time wasted on searching and reviewing the same or very similar documents, diminish the processing time at the stage of entering data into the archive by avoiding the duplicate documents and forming sets of data by a certain subject. Another advantage of the SoftInform technology is that it’s not so sensitive to the computer capacity and allows processing data at a very high speed even on ordinary office computers.
This technology is not just a theoretic development. It has been tested and successfully implemented in a project of giving legal advice via phone, where the speed of information retrieval is of crucial importance. And it will undoubtedly be more than useful in any knowledge base, analytical service and support department of any large firm. Universality and effectiveness of the SoftInform Search Technology allows solving a wide spectrum of problems, arising while processing information. These include the fuzziness of information (at the document entering stage it is possible to immediately define whether such a document already belongs to the data base or not) and the similarity analysis of the documents which are already entered into the data base, and the search for semantically similar documents which saves time spent on selecting the appropriate key words and viewing the irrelevant documents.
Perspectives
Besides its primary assignment (fast and high quality search for information in huge volume such as texts, archives, data bases) an Internet direction could also be defined. For example, it is possible to work out an expert system to process incoming correspondence and news which will become an important tool for analysts from different companies. Mainly, this will be possible due to the unique similar content search technology, absent from any of the existent systems so far except for the SearchInform. The problem of spamming search engines with the so called doorways (hidden pages with key words redirecting to the site’s main pages and used to increase the page rating with the search engines) and the e-mail spam problem (a more intellectual analysis would ensure higher level of security) would also be solved with the help of this technology. But the most interesting perspective of the SoftInform Search technology is creating a new Internet search engine, the main competitive advantage of which would be ability to search not just by key words, but also for similar web pages, which will add to the flexibility of search making it more comfortable and efficient.
To draw a conclusion, it could be stated with confidence that the future belongs to the full text search technologies, both in the Internet and the corporate search systems. Unlimited development potential, adequacy of the results and processing speed of any size of query make this technology much more comfortable and in high demand. SoftInform Search technology might not be the pioneer, but it’s a functioning, stable and unique one with no existent analogues (which can be proved by the active Eurasian patent). To my mind, even with the help of the “similar search” it will be difficult to find a similar technology.

Article marketing in the fast paced rhythm of a high tech virtual reality reopens an archaic debate about the power of the written word. The art of marketing through articles is as old as poetry itself and can trace its history as far back as some 720 years before Christ, with the oldest written works known to human kind. The Iliad and the Odyssey were finally put into written form with the intention of disseminating a way of thinking, a voice if you will as would any article today. As the ancient Athenians knew, and the Roman senate later discovered, the art of rhetoric is not of a promotional nature, but of an empathic nature, thriving off the passions of both voice and ear. Publishing an article is to give voice to that which the rhetorician has determined as essential to ones discourse, by choosing wisely the time and place of announcement.
The art of disseminating ones discourse in and of itself is as old as the first Aedos. Bards and Poets from ancient Greece had no one plot of land to bequeath national pride, but rather smaller city nation states, as we do today amongst the private corporations throughout the electronic sea of virtual islands that float in an ocean of navigating information. What was it then to be Greek? It was in their stories, in their music and in their poetry. Three things made a person Greek. To be Greek was to share language, religion and Homer. One people over a great distance bonded through the voice of their Aedos (Bards, and Poets). Thought turned into words; into national pride and into power, through the awe of human “voice”. Article marketing is but a mere shadow of this long forgotten art, but still as powerful, if not even more, with the velocity and advance of modern technology.
When building the foundations of an incredibly well written article, the “intention” is as important today as in the times of Simonides (Greek poet 556 BC – 468 BC). Of what, does one write? The intention of article marketing today should not be to promote one self and ones websites. Visitors, backlinks, recognition of one’s self and websites are all “consequences” of the main objective or “intent”. The main intention should always be, “quality”. This does not merely mean that an article is well written, but that it states something original, something different and distinguishable from the rest. An article of quality is more than informative, more than simple expertise; an article of quality is inspired by the nine daughters of Mnemosyne (goddess of memory); the “Muses”. An article of quality is one touched by the heart’s “passions.”
If the only intention when writing an article for future marketing is to promote or sell, then the article has already destroyed itself before even being written. Those, who slept in the Roman Senate did so because there was no reason to listen, the arguments were well known and well overheard. What makes a Roman senator listen, when he has heard it all? Passion… When the Muse has touched the very soul of the poet or statesman, when a link or a key word are no longer that mediocre intent, but the deep emotional need to be heard is the intent, passion itself has become the intent. Augustus Caesar, did not take Rome to war with Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra the VII of Egypt by concentrating on war itself and the advantages of war. He took Rome to war with his intent set on fear and his heart on the passion for life. The art of knowing where to direct attention is as old as the art of Rhetoric itself, Socrates tells us the tale of the Egyptian god Toth who invented the written word, is this the origin of persuasion? No matter, the important thing is that we learn how content should be written, “with the direction of quality”, links, traffic, backlinks and recognition, are natural consequences.
To give voice on the fast paced cybernetic reality of electronic spider webs, it is necessary to choose wisely the point from which to broadcast. If heroic tales of Troy in the Iliad or the humbling romantic adventures of the Odyssey were to be heard, they not only needed quality they needed an audience willing to listen. Homer gave ethnic identity to a people with no homeland or ruler, and common gods to follow. Homer offered an integral part of what it was to be Greek, he offered identity. Article marketing can ask no less of its writers. Any article must be placed in the campfires of its identifying warriors and the walkways of its identifying open markets. Publishing an article means being able to use search engines well and with efficiency in order to place them in quality sites that “identify” with the “intent” of each article. As an ode to the Spartan war march in Thermopolis would be unacceptable in the Temple of Asclepius (god of health), so would an article on meditation on a site about car tires. The wisdom of where and when to voice is as essential as how to voice.
Due to the everlasting string of code and html aristocracy that rule the realm of VR, article marketing is becoming more and more intensely controlled than ever before. But control is not new to the art of Rhetoric. As early as the first bards, the need and the power of voice have been perfected over the millennia. “Intent” is a simple matter of directing ones passion in an empathic way, inspiring “quality” itself. If empathy is achieved through the art of passions, direction of the listeners experience will follow in a natural way. Choosing the proper place to publish and article can be the wisest choice when article marketing as it will determine the most ultimate power of voice. “audience.”
bio = Written in response to the explosion of really badly written articles on the internet. The owners of http://www.knowledge-finder.com hope this article will increase the quality of the online written word.
