Frankly, I’m puzzled whenever I hear this from somebody who’s frustrated with their lack of gains:
Me: So what are you eating? How many calories per day and how many do you need?
Them: I don’t know. I just eat.
Huh?
Yes, it’s true. People don’t track their diets, don’t calculate their calories and just guess at what they need. They have no idea where they are going, very little facts on how to get there and yet are frustrated and mad when 6 weeks later they don’t see the results.
Imagine, for a moment, that’s it’s 6-months from today. And you’ve made no progress. Wouldn’t you be frustrated?! I sure would.
But here’s the deal, there’s a real simple method to make sure you don’t end up like so many people you’ll hear about. Please don’t be the person who just “eats” or does whatever without a plan. If you aren’t tracking your diet you are wasting your time!
Let me explain.
In order for your body to change, you must do something different. Let’s suppose that you want to burn as much fat as possible. What’s the first thing you should do now that you have a long-term goal in mind?
Here’s a h-i-n-t!
Make a plan!
A quick plan for losing fat:
1. Determine how many calories a day you need based on your situation
2. Track your daily food intake (yes you should count calories
Bodybuilding manuals go into great detail about how to calculate your caloric intake, giving formulas and such.
Anyway, a typical conversation might go like this:
“Excuse me? My wife made spaghetti bolognaise yesterday, I can’t be asked to weigh my meals in order to count the calories, can I? (What would she think about me (not to mention what I would think about myself ?)
I tried to go to fitday.com and calculate the calories, but it totally eluded me how many grams they were and looking for pasta and meat in different categories is a hassle anyway, so the site was no use for me with that.
Good heavens, there must be a way to go without the calorie counting, mustn’t it?”
Despite what you may have heard.
Tracking your diet (counting calories) is important and I’ll tell you why and how you can get around the whole calorie counting ordeal.
You see, in order to lose fat or gain muscle you need to know what you are eating in order to do such.
Let’s say you need 3000 calories a day to maintain your current weight at your current activity levels.
Now you decide you want to lose fat.
Training more and more, more cardio, longer sessions will just tire you out. You can bump up the cardio and do certain fat loss tips and techniques but overall keep in mind:
Where do I burn the fat:
80% of fat loss comes from diet and 20% from cardio.
As you can see, the area you want to manipulate is the diet.
Back to the example.
You decide to lose the fat. You know you need 3000 a day to maintain. You do some calorie calculations and find that you want to be aggressive and cut your calories by 20%. It’s aggressive but it’s just enough to get fast results without making your body go into a ’starvation mode’ and hold onto everything it’s got.
Except you don’t want to count calories.
That’s sort of like saying…
I want to start in New York and get to California but I don’t want a map or directions. I just want to drive West.
It just won’t work. You might zig zag here and there. Maybe one week you’ll eat less and lose a pound. The next on vacation you’ll overdo it and gain 5 pounds. Who knows. You won’t.
But do you have to count each calorie? And especially when you look at homemade items that have some many ingredients? What do you do?
While this isn’t the most accurate method, I just basically get a good estimate by looking up the general food item, quantity I consumed and input that.
Over time, because I eat a lot of the same things for breakfast, I already know the calories and I don’t need to track it anymore. I know via portions that a bowl of oats is such and such calories and how it adds into my total daily allowance.
I personally do not weight each piece of food. I will go to lunch, look at what I’m eating and know generally what portions of what I ate.
At the end of the day, I know roughly that I’m 20% below my maintenance for fat loss and 20% above for weight gain.
The problem that most people have is exactly what you describe.
They DO NOT want to track what they eat.
The bottom line is, if you don’t know where you are, and where you are going, you really don’t know how you’ll get there and it’s no wonder so many people are frustrated.
Look, you don’t have to track every single piece of food you put into your mouth. And I know that when there’s a home cooked meal, you aren’t likely to know what’s in it. But you can and should generally get an idea.
Eventually you can track your portions if you tend to eat a lot of the same things every day.
If you don’t track your diet, you are wasting your time.

Need to make money fast, but you don’t want to spend a single cent to establish an online business? Fret not, dear friend. You could actually start earning from the web with zero capital, zero obligations and zero risks! All these can be accomplished within 24 hours! Read on and I’ll show you how.
Hour 1
Try to find a profitable niche. Niches are highly specialized segments of a market where the demand is high and the supplies are low. There are few competitions in a niche, allowing you more opportunity to establish your online presence.
Think of a market that you could cater to. Then narrow it down by enumerating its subcategories. The more you are able to reduce the subject, the higher the profitability will be. For example, the general market you thought of is about dogs. A subcategory of this would be about Chihuahuas. A further subcategory would be about Chihuahua grooming.
Hour 2
Once you have found your niche, run a search at www.inventory.overture.com or www.nichebot.com . The results would show how many searches were made for that subject. The more searches there are, the higher the demand is for that topic.
Run a similar search of the same subject in any of the search engines on the net. The results would reveal your competition. Naturally, you would want a subject that has less competition. This would mean that you’re looking for one that would produce few results in your searches.
Hour 3
Once you’ve found a lucrative niche, it’s time to look for its relevant keywords. Run a search of the topic at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox to get a list of related keywords and keyphrases. Keep a copy of this list.
Hour 4
Open an account with a free blogging site. Or, if you already have your own website, download the Wordpress software at www.wordpress.com . It’s free. And Wordpress can be easily integrated with any website.
Set up your account. Fiddle with the controls. You’ll discover that using a blog is as easy as writing down your thoughts and clicking on a button to publish them for all the online world to see.
Hour 5
Enroll in any affiliate program of your choice. You could choose more than one, of course. Just make sure that such program is offering some products that cater to the niche you have chosen. Try to find a program that offers highly sellable products and generous commissions. Don’t settle for a commission rate of less than 20%. Look for something that would give you at least 40% for every successful sale you would be able to refer. A good place to start is www.clickbank.com , but eventually you would want to “graduate” to something grander. But for your initial foray, ClickBank would suffice.
After enrollment, you would be able to immediately choose the products you want to pre-sell. Get the affiliate links for them. Do not lose these affiliate links.
Hour 6
It’s time to put that blog to good use! The premise heart of this budget-friendly strategy is your blog. Blogs are excellent and cost-effective alternatives to websites. Search engines love them, and they have their own linking network as well. Also, they are easily updatable, and search engine spiders love consistently updated content.
Write an interesting piece about the niche you have chosen. It may be a personal review of one of your affiliate products, or your views on the niche in general.
The trick here lies in being able to strategically insert your affiliate links in your blog entries. It must be subtle. You won’t want your blog to look like a blatant sales page. Your entries should be highly informative, first and foremost. Content is still king, and it is what will drive visitors to your site.
Hour 7
Go to www.pingomatic.com . Ping the blog directories and the search engines that can be found there. This would inform their spiders that your content has been updated, and they will check it out come the next relevant query. What does this mean? Fast indexing for your blog site!
So there you go. A zero dollar, seven hour marketing plan that would rake in some earnings. It doesn’t stop there, however. Try to post a new entry everyday, and ping the search engines afterwards. Soon enough, you’ll have a high traffic blog site where you could expose your affiliate links to a whole lot of people!
Good luck!

Making a living in sales can be very rewarding, however, it can also be tough at times. That is why it is very important to stay on top of your game at all times.
Making a sale doesn’t happen by accident or by luck, the sale is made because the person doing the selling has done a good job of explaining and representing their products.
Here are a few activities that will help you and your co-workers keep your sales skills sharp at all times.
Roll Playing
I know this sounds corny, but it really does work, and it puts everyone in the office in a good mood, because of all the laughs you will receive.
Make up a few fake, but realistic sales scenarios for you and a fellow co-worker to act out. Take turns playing the customer and the sales person. Repeat the scenario several times until you become comfortable with it. If at all possible, find a third person to observe and critique your mach sales sessions. If this is not possible, than critique each other.
Current Events
During each of your sales presentations with a potential customer, there should be some sort of small talk, or what you would call a relax period, where you relax your customer by discussing something other than your business and the product you are about to sell.
The weather is the most obvious thing to talk about, but it is a very boring subject and comes across fake, because everybody brings up the weather when they don’t have anything else to talk about.
Every day, in the morning, decide on a current event that you will bring up when making small talk with your potential customers; Such as a major news event or a major sporting event that is happening.
This way you will be prepared and won’t run into any snags in your conversation.
Shaking hands
Get into the habit of shaking hands. Every time you meet a potential customer, shake their hand. Most of us are comfortable with shaking hands, but for those of you who are not, here is a tip to help you reach a comfort level.
Each day that you walk into your office, shake the hands of your co-workers that are closest to you. Seriously, every morning, go in, look them in the eye, greet them by name, and shake their hand. They may look at you as though you are nuts at first, but explain to them that it is simply an exercise. Trust me they will get a kick out of it, and will respond with enthusiasm.
Remember, people don’t want to be treated as statistics, they wanted to be treated as people, so treat them that way. Shake their hand, look them in the eye, talk about things other than business, and use their name as often as possible.
By keeping your sales skills sharp, you will ultimately be keeping your sales up. Good luck!

“Exercise is good for you!” If you had a dollar for every time you heard this statement uttered, you’d be rich by now, right? Well, proponents of everyday physical activity aren’t just blowing smoke when they repeat this mantra. Medical research has uncovered resounding evidence to back up this “good for you” claim. In fact, the U.S. Surgeon General, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Centers for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion all recommend the same thing when it comes to regular exercise: American adults should aim for 30 minutes or more of moderate-intensity physical activity on most, and preferably all, days of the week.
Inquiring minds want to know, so how exactly will daily exercise impact your health and well-being? Regular physical activity positively affects not only your body but also your mind. That’s right: Exercise simultaneously improves your physical, your emotional and your psychological health. In fact, it’s a triple-threat combatant against the physical and mental disorders Americans most often face: heart disease, diabetes, stroke, stress, anxiety and depression, just to name a few.
When industry experts stand in staunch agreement, you know it’s time to focus your attention on their advice and take their concurring counsel to heart. To that end, consider daily exercise’s benefits as purported by three of the leading medical sources: the American Heart Association, the Surgeon General’s Report on Exercise and Fitness Management magazine.
The American Heart Association (AHA) lists a reduction in the risk of heart disease at the top of its daily physical activity benefit list. Exercise improves circulation throughout the body and lowers cholesterol, thereby decreasing the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke. The AHA also touts exercise’s ability to counteract the health problems plaguing today’s young people: obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and poor lifestyle habits. In so doing, it prevents the conditions that lead to heart attacks and strokes later in life.
The U.S. Surgeon General, while echoing the AHA’s claims, narrows down physical activity’s benefits into specific categories. Overall, he maintains that exercise reduces one’s risk of dying prematurely, but explicitly mentions a reduction in heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, colon cancer, depression and anxiety and obesity among its lifesaving advantages. According to the U.S. Surgeon General, healthier bones muscles and joints as well as improved psychological well-being are some of the other benefits regular exercisers enjoy.
In an article entitled “The Psychological Benefits of Your Exercise Program,” Fitness Management magazine further details physical activity’s favorable effects on emotional and mental health. In particular, the article cites the following psychological advantages of exercise: 1) It reduces feelings of anxiety, worry, self-doubt and uncertainty about the future; 2) It lower stress levels and the accompanying physical complaints, such as headaches and muscle tension; 3) It energizes, thereby enhancing one’s mood; 4) It improves sleep quality; and 5) It improves one’s self-image and -confidence by keeping weight down and elevating mood.
So, while an apple a day is still sound advice, it seems exercising every day is the new and improved ticket to keeping the doctor away.

These days more and more people are getting intellectual instead of physical jobs. Sitting in the office chairs all-day long has become a norm for many of us. Stress, busyness and rush make us forget about regular food and stuff our stomachs with cheeseburgers and sodas, which don’t do anything good for our bodies.
As a result of such crazy life rhythm, we rarely find time for exercises, gyms or balanced nutrition. As a matter of fact, it’s one of the reasons why there are now more that 60% of U.S citizens that have overweight. However, it is possible to change your lifestyle and lose your weight if you are willing to.
These 7 day-to-day life tips provided below will help you to drop your extra pounds, become more energetic and healthier.
1. Drink More Water
Our bodies need a lot of water. Water removes waste from our organisms and carries various nutrients into all our organs and cells. Your body also loses water by using it for various ways. For this reason you have to replace it and drink water more often than you are used to.
Start your day with a glass of water in the morning. Drink a glass of water before any meal. Take a bottle of water with you when you go to work. Your body needs approximately 3-5 liters of water during one day. So don’t hesitate to drink plenty of water wherever and whenever you can.
2. Eat Fruits and Drink Fruit Juices
Eating fruits and juices helps you eliminate toxins from your body. Eating a variety of fruits also helps you get enough fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants. That’s why you should eat fresh fruits and drink natural fruit juices as often as possible.
Fruit juices from stores are often sweetened. If you want to drink juices, make fresh juices yourself. If you think it takes too much of the time, then look for juices with labels that say “100% fruit juice”. These are much healthier for your body as long as they contain much more vitamins.
3. Eat Lots of Vegetables and Vegetable Salads
When it comes to losing extra pounds, vegetables are a great choice. They are natural and contain different vitamins, minerals and tons of other useful chemicals known to provide benefits for your body. Vegetables are low in fat and calories, they help control blood glucose levels, reduce blood cholesterol and reduce the risk of colon and other cancers. All these features also help control your weight effectively.
If you feel that eating vegetables alone isn’t great choice for you, then make some salads. Mixing vegetables together gives you even more different vitamins and health benefits. There are tons of tasty, healthy salad recipes on the internet. You can also use you imagination to make some great salads.
4. Eat Only When You Are Hungry
How many times you’ve been to a party where you saw lots of different and tasty looking meals, which you were offered to try.
Don’t eat, because you are offered to. Eat only when you want to.
Many people also like snacking. In between meals or when have nothing to do. Quit snacking. Most snacks contain a lot of fat and calories. Replace your usual snacks with vegetables or fruits. These are healthy to your body and you’ll never get fatter, only thinner.
5. Carry Healthy Food with You
Many of us work busy office jobs and don’t have time to eat regularly. In this case, bring your own made food with you. Instead of bringing sandwiches with meat, take vegetable salads, carrots, chicken salads. Any low fat food will do. This way, you won’t have to wait for a break to fill your stomach. You’ll be able to have fixed times when eating food.
It’s also important to try to eat about 5 times a day, rather than 3 or 2. Eat in smaller quantities, but more often. This helps you to increase your metabolism.
6. Work Out When You Can
Working out in a gym is not only a great way to grow some muscles, but also to drop a few pounds. Exercising helps you burn your calories instead of storing them in your body as fat. Our bodies were made to be active, so exercising slowly and easily can actually help you get more energy and make you feel much better.
At the end of the week, try to lose all the stress and burn your calories in a gym or having some kind of physical activity at home. If you have time, then try to do easy exercises everyday.
7. Don’t Lie Down or Sit When You Can Move
Many of us like to watch TV lying on a couch or sitting in a comfortable chair. Of course, when you come home after hard working day, you’re tired, and all you can think of, is a couch and a remote in your hand. But such laziness won’t help you lose weight. Contrarily, it will make you grow some more pounds.
So don’t lie or sit, when you can walk and move. Instead of staring at TV, like a goofy, go ahead and work out in your garden for example, clean your garage, fix your car, go to walk in park or beach. Breathe fresh air and move more often. Not only does it help to reduce stress after work, but also ups your mood and makes you more energetic.
In Conclusion
Remember that all these tips will help you to lose weight, but only if you are determined and are ready to devote some of your time. Don’t expect to slim down 4 sizes after eating 5 carrots and drinking orange juice.
Your body, just like many things in this world, needs time. So be patient. And if you will honestly use at least some of these tips, you are going to change your lifestyle, which in the end will lead you to a thinner and healthier body.

Car stereo speakers are very vital for an efficient car audio system. Car speakers are unique in that they are designed for reproducing sound frequencies. You can evaluate your car stereo speakers on the following criteria:
ú Frequency response of the speakers should be higher and wider for better sound capturing and reproducing
ú Efficiency of the speakers determines the distance sound will travel and is measured in terms of decibels, the higher the better.
ú For playing your system continuously, the factor to be considered is the maximum power RMS, i.e., the maximum powers speakers can produce continuously.
ú A component speaker set will give a full range and quality of sound in your car and it will be a thrilling experience.
ú The car stereo speakers should be power efficient so that it does not eat up the riding power of your car.
A car audio system is comprised of different components. Speakers for your car have unique characteristics to ensure quality audio sound in your car. They are much different from speakers you would buy for your home, office, or computer.
When shopping for speakers, be sure to listen to a variety. Each speaker will have its own sound. Therefore, with the above knowledge gear up your car with better car stereo speakers, which will enhance your musical experience and rock your car.

Going to college is a grand experience. It’s the first time many young adults get the chance to begin taking care of themselves, no matter what the consequences. One of the main things that worries parents when their child heads out into the world of college is, of course, their diet. What are they going to eat if the cafeteria closes too early? What if they don’t like the cafeteria food? What if they didn’t even sign up for cafeteria meals?
Parents needn’t worry. College students today have developed their own underworld of cuisine, involving quite the array of foods, time-tested by students in the past, and catered specifically to college needs by clever manufacturers.
The main staple of dorm life these days is, of course, the microwave. College students take microwave food to a whole new level. The smell of microwave popcorn is right at home in a dorm, even at 3 am. I had a roommate at college who ate microwave popcorn for breakfast. Quick, easy, cheap and filling- what more could you ask for?
There is also the infamous instant Japanese noodles (the Japanese name for this product does in fact translate to “student cuisine”). One of the biggest things I learned at school was how many ways there are to eat this ubiquitous, 25 cent meal. There’s the traditional method of boiling it into soup, of course. There’s also the option of straining the water out before adding the seasoning, creating a haphazard pasta meal. A friend of mine used to give away his seasoning packets to those who liked their soup extra salty, and then use the noodles mixed with cafeteria vegetables to create his own vegetable soup. There is, in fact, an entire culture devoted to forming recipes around these instant noodles. And college students might be the most creative consumers of all.
But the need for so much creativity is not as dire as it once was. Nowadays microwaves are ridiculously cheap to own, and many college students don’t think twice about having one in their dorm room. This has caused manufacturers to cater to the college students’ needs like never before. Macaroni and cheese that doesn’t involve buying milk, and rice dinners in a bag that include all the seasonings, are a huge step forward for students living at school, where access to milk and butter (and having somewhere to keep them if you buy them) is not as easy as it looks.
Sure, not all of this instant and easy food is healthy. Some of it is downright bad for you. But parents needn’t worry too much. Your child might spend a few semesters believing the food groups consist of salt, fake chicken, cheese in a pouch, and potato chips… but it will make them appreciate you all the more when they come home.

am Dr Patrick Flanagan, and this is the latest edition of my Dr Health Secrets newsletter.
Lately I have written about toxins in our water and food supply. This installment is about a diet that has gotten a lot of attention all over the world. This newsletter about the Atkins Diet and its effects on your body.
Beef, It’s What’s For Dinner
And breakfast, and lunch, and snacks. That, and all other things of the protein persuasion, such as chicken, eggs, cheese, fish, and lard. Yes, Atkins was the diet that enabled its followers to ingest as much fat and protein as their little hearts desired while still shedding those extra, unwanted pounds. Many even seemed to get results from the Atkins diet without even having to step foot in a gym. Even more remarkable were those revolutionary new “desserts” that were both Atkins friendly and approved. Sure they tasted like they were manufactured in a nuclear weapons facility, but they were still synthetically sweet, and would help in the elimination of those darned sweet cravings. What the perfect diet Atkins was.
Eat as much fat as you wanted, consume all of the steak and bacon you could, and wash it all down with an aspartame-infested soda and non-exercising exercise regiment. The life of a lazy king.
The Fat Makes The Calorie, Not The Man
It seemed perfect, but seemed would have to become the operative word. Many of you have lived on this earth long enough to know that perfection really doesn’t exist. There is no perfect child, no prefect insurance plan, no perfect way to say, “We should see other people,” and no perfect diet. Dr. Atkins himself would have argued that cholesterol levels didn’t increase with the added intake of high fat foods, but many researchers and scientists have proven otherwise. Heart disease, as well as other heart conditions, has been attributed to followers of high protein and high fat diets. Some studies are starting to show the correlation between these diets and heart problems, and to me, even the potential risk of losing my ticker is enough to make me eat a piece of bread.
One particular side effect that is hazardous when eating excess amounts of fat and protein are the increased levels of acidity within the body, which are mostly caused by the ketone acids that are produced during ketosis. High levels of acidity can lead to a loss of much needed calcium from within bones. Calcium, which is an alkaline material, is depleted when acid levels get to be too high. This is your body’s way of attempting to neutralize its ph balance and bring everything back to a normal level of functioning. Lack of calcium, over time, can lead to an increase in fractures, the erosion of teeth (teeth are made of calcium), and the depression of the central nervous system. High acidity also forces the kidneys and the liver to work a lot harder than they typically would, so people who have preexisting problems with these organs are at risk of developing even more severe problems when on Atkins.
Aside from leading to dehydration, acidity can also cause high toxic levels within the body, and over time, these toxic levels can lead to permanent and caustic side effects. One way to help with the removal of these chemicals would be to drink water, but it has to be the right type of water. Many waters have surface tensions that are so high, that the cells in the body can’t absorb the water that they need. One way to help eliminate this problem would be to add the right colloidal minerals to the water that you are already drinking to allow for more nutrients to enter the cell and toxins to come out.
There’s no “I” in Vegetable
Carbohydrates are considered food for the brain, and even more importantly, many simple carbohydrates, such as fruits and vegetables, contain important antioxidants that are needed to provide a healthy immune system. If you are a follower of Atkins or any other low carb, high fat, and high protein diets, then I don’t stay on these particular eating plans for too long a period of time. If you absolutely can’t bring yourself to eat a noodle or an apple, you should at least attempt to take some kind of antioxidant supplement.

Are you wondering about how to optimize your protein intake?
There are many factors that come into play when choosing sources for protein. Certain proteins are not absorbed well by the body, while other types of protein bring a high fat content with them into the body. Here’s a list of a few of the protein sources in healthy nutrition that can help your body big-time:
Meats:
Poultry: Containing, on average, 26 grams of protein per serving while only having 12 grams of fat, poultry is one of the best foods you can eat for protein. Weighing in at around 140 calories per serving, chicken is a wonderful food to help keep your health up.
Beef:
Slightly less healthy for you then chicken, lean beef contains about 25 grams of protein with 20 grams of fat. At 275 calories, beef comes in as a close second for high protein levels.
These levels are merely estimates at protein sources in health nutrition plans. Meat levels can vary between the cuts of the meat and the quality.
Also, protein sources in healthy nutrition can come in supplemental forms. Here is some information about them:
Whey Protein:
One of the best sources of protein available, whey protein comes from milk. It is very digestable, but may cause diarrhea due to the high lactose content.
You can also obtain Soy Protein, another great source.
Why do you need protein?
Protein is one of the building blocks of your body. Amino acids found in protein are crucial for growth, tissue repair, and tissue replacement. Without enough protein, your body will not be able to create the new things it needs!
It is recommended that on a daily basis, you eat about 0.75 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. It can be the key to kick-starting your health.

Once you have added a new customer to your book of business, plan on keeping that customer until you have all of their business, and the business of their family and friends.
This way you can ensure having their business forever.
When working as a branch manager a few years back, I was never satisfied with a customer portfolio until I had the complete wallet share of their business.
By wallet share I mean I not only wanted their checking accounts, I wanted their savings accounts, certificates of deposit, home equity loans and so on.
The same should go for you. Once you have a customer in the door, and have sold them that first product, continue to satisfy their needs with excellent customer service, and make them aware of certain products that have become new to your company, or any promotions that you may have going on. Continue to make them aware of all things that can make their lives more convenient or save them money.
Getting a customer to do all of their business with you, I admit, is a challenge. But like all relationships, the same holds true in business, relationships are built on trust.
Once a customer grows to know you and trust you, they will then begin to become more prone to moving the rest of their business over to you, and hopefully shoot some referrals your way.
For starters, get your customer in the door, just get one little piece of the pie. Think of it as asking them to lunch as opposed to asking them to dinner. Try and convince them to try out one of your smaller or less expensive products, or if you offer free trials, even better. Than go from there.
Getting back to wallet share . . .
While still in banking, I once had a customer tell me, that he did all of his business with us, and for that reason alone, he should be approved for the loan he was applying for.
Although I was confident that he would be approved for the loan, I decided to call his bluff any way.
I said; Mr. Jones, do you really do all of your business with us. His reply was yes.
I then asked him if I could see his wallet.
He pulled it from his back pocket and handed it to me.
After I opened his wallet and examined it for a few seconds, I pulled an American Express card from one of the sleeves and laid it on the table.
I said, Mr. Jones, you are a customer of American Express.
He replied that he was.
I than proceeded to tell him that he did not in fact do all of his business with us. I also seized this opportunity to sell him on one of our credit card promotions.
He chuckled at my wit, but did not take the credit card.
My point is, you want to get complete wallet share, you must dig deep, you might only have half of your customer’s business, when you think you have it all.
So ask questions, get to know your customers as well as you can. Find out what their needs are, than sell them the products you believe they can use, make their lives a little easier, or save them some money.
So remember, the sale never ends, it goes on and on. Your customers will always be in need of new things. So sell them, their friends, and their family what you have. At the very least, make them aware of the products you have, you never know when they may need it. Good luck!

The FDA states that it is illegal to import any prescription drugs from overseas. Anything found at the United States border will be seized. But this shouldn’t include a Canadian pharmacy. Canada isn’t even overseas… right? That’s what many Americans say who frequently cross over the American border into Canada to go to a Canadian pharmacy. This has gotten the FDA a tad angry.
Now why on earth are Americans going to a Canadian pharmacy? With the rising prescription drug costs and the lack of good affordable health insurance many can’t afford to buy it in America. Canadian pharmacies often save people as much as 40%, if not more. For some people, a Canadian pharmacy is the only way they can afford to get their much needed medication to survive. Just recently, you can now order from a Canadian pharmacy online and have it mailed directly to your home.
The FDA states that getting prescription drugs from a Canadian Pharmacy is not safe. However, they have never shown any evidence of this. They also state that purchasing prescription drugs from a Canadian pharmacy will lead to lost jobs for us Americans. There is no evidence of this either. Besides, people still can’t afford to buy there prescriptions in America anyways. In fact, some states (like Wisconsin and Texas) encourage people to buy prescriptions from Canada and they are even attempting to incorporate a prescription drug plan with Canada.
A Canadian Pharmacy is safe and legitimate. There is no evidence that a prescription from a Canadian pharmacy poses any health risks. They also insure the same quality and potency as American prescriptions but at a much cheaper price. To make you feel more at ease, all Canadian pharmacies ask that you have a prescription from your doctor and include you medical and allergy history before you can purchase any prescriptions. This is also the same if you order from a Canadian pharmacy online. Before ordering online from any company, make sure that the company has a legitimate address and that they provide a toll free number with live operators to assist you.
Purchasing prescription drugs from Canada is an answered prayer for many Americans. Some Americans wouldn’t know what to do if it wasn’t available. It gives peace of mind knowing that there is still an affordable way to get the prescriptions people need, even if the FDA doesn’t like it.

This article is dedicated to those who are afraid to challenge themselves and go out on the edge and prove that if they can do it so can I.
While, no one manual can teach anyone affiliate marketing or how to market a business successfully online, there is one method that can.
And that is: The method of trial and error, where failure is not an option.
So with that said, I would like to prove without a doubt;
Why Writing Articles Is Much Better Than Search Engine Optimization.
There Is No Competition When It Comes To Writing Articles.
Do you know that one keyword rich article can bring you thousands of hits for years to come?
To discover this, I jumped into the article publishing business and started reading every article I could find on how to write and publish artilces online.
Well, this is not easy for new comers, but I had to prove that if they could do it so could I. So, I wote my first article and kept checking the search engines. The increase in traffic grew steadily and my article started a life on it’s own. That one article was being distributed all over the net.
I had absolutely no one competing with me only websites picking up my article adn adding it to their article directories. My life as publisher began, and every week I wrote another article, getting more exposure for free.
Search Engine Optimization Is For Experts, Articles Don’t Have Changing Algorithm.
While Search Engine optimization is the best method for getting free traffic from the search engine, you have to be a SEO expert to remain in the top ten for highly competetive keywords. The search engines are constantly changing and updating their algorithm, making it more difficult to maintain top positions.
Now, with article writing on the hand, I don’t worry about any algorithm changes, all I have to focus on is keyword rich content and quality information that readers will be happy to get their hands on. This way my article ends up on top ten Search Engine Optimized pages.
You Don’t Have To Exchange Links To Increase Your Ranking.
Would you believe me if I told you that your ranking will increase with all the back links you get from one top article.
Yes, it’s true. If you can get one hot article online, you will be amazed to see how many article directories will post this article on high PR pages (yes, pages with PR6 or higher).
All these links will be pointing back to your site, giving you a boost in your ranking.
Now, with your Seacrh engine Optimization you will have to come up with a great internet marketing strategy to get high PR sites to add your link to their site. You will have to do some Join venture deal or give them one of your own products for free, or just try plain old fashion email, and hope you will get a response.
All It Takes Is A little About Box At the Bottom Of Your Article.
This is often over looked by many affiliate marketing article publishers. You wrote such a great article and there is no link back to your website, so your name is spreading all over the Internet, but your sight is suffering from lack of traffic.
If your going to write articles, please don’t ever forget to add your signature file in the about box. If they don’t have on just append it to the end of your article. Make sure that the about box is allowing HTML, if not just add your website link.
I have to admit, that my first couple of articles got my name out there, but the about box had no link back to my site.
Now for Search Engine optimization, there are many factors you have to consider and I must admit that your better off purchasing a SEO-Book that will teach you the proper way to optimize your pages. Don’t overlook this fact, but you need a little of both to make thing just perfect. So, Search Engine Optimization and Article writing go hand in hand.
Anyway, I do hope that you see the importance of article writing and that you will be bold enough to venture out into cyber space and publish your first article. It only takes one, to see the effect.

Contemplating what may happen to your wife (or husband) and children if you die is not likely to be a thought you wish to contemplate. However, avoiding the issue may make life more difficult for your family after your death.
Life insurance looks set to make a comeback in the UK, after a period of neglect by consumers who were simply occupied with affording a home. The stabilising of the UK house market has made many consumers take a broader view to their personal finances.
LifeSearch (a life insurance broker), in the September issue of Money Observer, highlighted a few common mistakes people make when buying life insurance:
* Believing life insurance is relevant to everyone
Life insurance is only relevant to people who have financial dependents. If you have no financial dependents, it might be more appropriate to consider income protection or critical illness insurance.
* Paying too much for life insurance
According to Money Observer, research for Sainsbury’s Bank Life Insurance revealed that many people take life insurance policies from their mortgage providers and as a result could be paying too much.
* Opting to buy joint life insurance policies instead of single life insurance policies
The advice to married couples is to avoid taking out joint life insurance policies which pay out when the first spouse dies over the term of the policy, but not on the second. Single policies could provide additional cover by paying just an extra œ3-4 a month.
* Missing out on a trust
The Tax Man can claim up to 40% of your life insurance payout as inheritance tax. According to Money Observer, those with assets totalling œ275,000 or more (including a house) are especially prone to tax inspection. Writing your policy in trust is a way to avoid this and as a trust does not have to go through probate, beneficiaries of the policy will receive the payment without delay.
* Only insuring the main earner
Whilst it is important to cover the main breadwinner, by neglecting to additionally insure the housewife or househusband may result in extra child care costs. Family income benefit (FIB) may be an appropriate policy to put in place.
* Opting for a lump sum over income
If your dependents are likely to require an income, then buying a policy that pays out a lump sum is a mistake. Many people invest lump sums for an income, but when they invest it, they have to pay tax. Family income benefit provides a larger payout - tax free, though the majority of banks and building societies do not offer FIB, so ask an Independent Financial Advisor for recommendations.
* Not proving full medical records or detailing comprehensive medical history
Failure to disclose a complete picture of your health, no matter how trivial, could invalidate a claim later on.
There’s no excuse for not conducting your own homework, as there is an abundance of information available online. Sites such as moneynet, provide not only price comparison research on difference life insurance products, they also offer downloadable consumer product guides. A Costa Rican treat. An all inclusive vacation in Costa Rica is something you must experience. Any vacation need certain ingredients to become successful. Among them relaxation, fun, pleasure, good food, good service and value for the money.
After enjoying several Costa Rican all inclusive resorts can I say that they really are outstanding. I will give you a short run down of 2 places where we stayed.
1. Villas Sol, Guanacaste, Playa Hermosa
Villas Sol in Playa Hermosa. Neighbour with one of the first high priced vacation places in Costa Rica, namely condovac.
Villas Sol have a large, clean hotel on top of a beautiful hill with lush green surroundings. Behind the Villas Sol hotel you’ll find a pool, snackbar and the restaurant.
The employees where friendly and helpful. The two minor drawbacks I found where the food (not really up to the quality of the rest. A bit tasteless and not enough variation). And what is part of the beauty also plays against Villas Sol. The houses are spread out on a hillside and the distances are so great, they have small pickups with sofas on the back circling all the houses, allowing guest free rides wherever they want to go.
So if you’re on your way to eat, hop on the truck. If you want to go to playa Hermosa, hop on the truck. This can be somewhat tiresome.
Villas Sol, (especially on the low priced season) is quite good value for the money.
2. Fiesta Resort Hotell in Puntarenas.
Puntarenas as a town may not be known for its beaches. But due to being the closest port and beach town from San Jos‚, a number of high priced 4 star hotels and resorts have been built here.
Fiesta Resort is a very large hotel with nice rooms, extremely friendly and helpful employees. I have never received so much help and friendly smiles in any places as in Fiesta Resort.
The rooms where all of high quality. Clean, lots of space, nice AC and cable tv.
There are plenty of pools, from the relax pool with dark blue water to the light blue normal pools where people could enjoy the pool bar or do the water-aerobics each day.
Dance classes each day, nice snack bar with tacos, granisados, hamburgers and a lot more to eat kept people going.
The main courses like breakfast, lunch and dinner where treats without comparison!
The restaurant had cooks placed in several places where they where wooking, cooking and making food directly on demand from the guests. They also arrange theme dinners where the Fiesta Resort Restaurant was filled with employees with theme clothes and other themed adornments.
Fiesta Resort gets my highest points without any competition. A place to return to. Value for the money, exceptional (check the low cost season here as well).

With the planting season upon us, now is the perfect time to start your outdoor herb garden. Herbs come in different colors, flora, scents, textures and heights making them pleasing to all five of our senses. Before starting your outdoor herb garden, there are some things that you need to consider and keep in mind.
First of all, you have to consider how much space you have to plant. If you have just a small 3 ft x 3 ft plot, then you are going to have to narrow your herb choices considerably in comparison to someone who has a much larger plot. If you have a small plot or just want to add visual interest to a larger plot, consider planting some herbs in the ground and others in pots.
With hundreds of varieties of herbs available, it is best to think about how you want to use your herb garden. If your garden is more for show and to be pleasing to your sense of smell, then you can choose plants just by their scents. Some people like to combine different scents such as rosemary, basil and thyme whereas others choose to have a garden full of lavender. If you are going to use your plants for cooking, then you need to think about which plants would be most useful for you. For instance, Italian herb gardens typically contain basil, oregano and parsley.
Depending on the plant, you may be able to plant a lot of one herb close together or you might need to leave 6″ to 12″ between plants. The size of your plot greatly dictates how many plants you can have in your plot. There are some herbs that spread like crazy as they grow. Mint is an example of an herb with a mind of its own when it comes to growing. It is best to plant these kinds of herbs in their own pot to avoid having them take over your garden.
Make sure that your herb garden gets plenty of sun. Most herbs require sun for at least 6 hours a day. Your herbs will do best in soil that drains well as many herbs do best if they are not sitting in soaked soil all the time. In between days that it rains, it is best to just to sprinkle them lightly with the hose. If you go 4-5 days with no rain then it is a good idea to give them a good watering.
Many herbs are easy to grow and require little care other than weeding and a little water. Before starting your herb garden it is always best to do research to learn about different herbs and to make sure that their soil, watering and sun requirements will be met. You can find other good herb growing tips online. Although you can start herbs from seeds, it is much easier and less time consuming to go to a nursery and buy an herb plant. Whichever way you choose to start your herb garden, have fun and let your senses enjoy all of the colors, smells, textures and scents that come with them.

Although tornado season is typically during the spring months, any of you who live in tornado alley can attest to the fact that tornadoes can show up any time of the year. They do not discriminate against the cold months of the year. We all know that a very warm day followed by a cold front spells out the possibility of severe thunderstorms or tornadoes.
For your safety and the safety of your family, you should have a plan for a designated safe spot in your house in the event of a tornado. There are a number of things that you need to know before you designate a place as well as a number of things that would be helpful to keep in your designated spot just incase.
One of the safest places to be when a tornado hits is in a storm cellar. You can purchase a pre-manufactured storm shelter and either install it yourself or have it professionally installed. You can also build your own storm shelter. If you choose to do this it is important that you research the appropriate materials to use in order for the shelter to be effective. You can have storm shelters built into your home or in the ground near your home. They also come in various sizes, so you need to think about the size and needs of your family. If you live in a trailer, it is particularly important that you have a storm shelter or know of a community shelter in the area where you can take cover.
If you don’t have a storm shelter, there are certain places in your home that are safer than others. A basement or room that is underground and preferably without windows is the next best thing to a reinforced shelter. If there are windows in the basement, cover them with plastic if you have time and stay away from them.
If there is no basement in your home, you should go to an interior room that is on the lowest level of the home. A closet or bathroom is best. You can also go to an interior hallway in a building on the lowest level. You should stay away from windows, exterior walls and doorways. Stay out of large rooms such as auditoriums, the middle of the grocery store or large hallways. The smaller the room or hallway the better. If there is a heavy piece of furniture in the room, take cover under it.
Protect your head and body with pillows, blankets or mattresses. If you have small children or pets with you, make sure they are well protected as well. Keep a flashlight and a cell phone with you, preferable in your pocket. That way if you are trapped you can call someone for help and you will have a flashlight which will help you be found. A battery powered radio or television is also good to keep in your safe place to keep yourself informed.
Remember to never try to outrun a tornado. Do not stand by a window or out on the porch and try to video it. Get to your storm shelter or safe place immediately if you are under a tornado warning. If you follow these tips and other tips online, you can maximize your chances of being safe during a tornado.

Whether you are looking for a personalized gift for your company or to mark a special occasion, we have found that you can find a company that will personalize just about any item. There are a number of things that you can do to help ensure that you are getting the best deal for what you are buying.
The first thing that you need to decide on is what type of gift or item you are looking for. Literally the sky is the limit when it comes to personalized items. We went online and searched for as many personalized things as we could think of and we always found places that had what we wanted.
We found personalized disposable coffee cups with lids that would make a perfect gift for the coffee connoisseur. Personalized return address labels are available where you can actually choose the heads, hair color and skin color to match every member of the family including the family pets. Personalized pet items such as collars, leashes and dog beds are great for a pampered pooch. Then, of course, we found the standard things like ink pens, coffee mugs, insulated lunch packs and magnets.
Once you have decided on the perfect gift or promotional item, think about how many items you are actually going to need. Most companies sell personalized items in bulk and the more you buy the better. However, if you really only need about 100 items, then buying 500 items just to get a better price costs you more money in the long run from all the left over and unused items.
Your next step is research, research, research until you find the company that will offer you the best deal. When researching online, search for the needed promotional gift by calling it as many names as you can think of. For instance, if you want promotional coffee mugs with your company logo, search for personalized or promotional coffee cups, coffee mugs, beverage mugs, ceramic cups, etc. Different companies and different countries might use alternative names for the same product.
Once you have found the company that you want to use, it is time to order your product. Check and recheck your order before you finalize it. Make sure that you have the personalized message spelled correctly and that you have chosen the quantity, colors and style that you want because once you place an order for a personalized gift it is yours.
Try to think outside the box when planning your next party or fundraiser or when you want to just buy a gift for someone. Adding a personal touch through giving a personalized item will make the gift memorable. With so many personalized items available, it shouldn’t be hard to find the perfect one for what you need.

Whether you are planning to sod or seed your lawn, for best results you need to start from scratch. The reason this is the best way to start your lawn and get the healthiest lawn is that you can eliminate bad grass, weeds and disease in your grass. If this is not all properly removed then most of the time it is a waste of time to seed or sod because weeds and disease will just creep back into your lawn.
To start from scratch you need to first remove the old grass with a sod cutter. You can rent these from most home improvement stores. Once the sod is removed completely, you need to till the dirt and make the ground as smooth as possible. If you see any large rocks, you should discard of them as well. The next step is to check the pH level of your dirt and treat it if necessary. Then you should treat your dirt with a good fertilizer. The fertilizer will help give your sod or seeds a good start.
After your dirt is prepared for planting it is time to decide on laying sod or seeding. Before you start this process, you need to make sure it is the best time in your area to do this. Check with a local nursery for the optimum time of year to start a lawn. It is typically best to start a lawn in late spring or early fall. If it is too hot, the grass will not get enough water and it will dry up. If it is too cold the ground might freeze, killing the grass.
Once you plant seeds or lay sod, you need to make sure that your lawn gets watered regularly or all your hard work will have been for nothing. There is a fine line between too much water and not enough. The general rule of thumb is that, if there is no rain in the forecast, you should sprinkle the grass or seeds lightly 2-3 times each day so that the ground stays moist. If it rains heavily for a few days, you should not sprinkle the grass. A very hard rain right after seeding might wash some of the seeds away so you might have to seed again.
Depending on the type of sod or seeds you use, you might have to add fertilizer or water the ground with fertilizer. It is best to follow whatever instructions or tips you are given for that type of grass in order to have the best success. If you have any questions or are having problems, consult with a landscaping company. Since they are used to seeding and laying sod, they might have a simple solution to whatever your problem or question is. You might even consider having them help with the seeding or laying the sod. Whether to lay sod or seed is a personal decision. Whichever you choose be sure to research the needs of that particular grass before starting.

It’s a beautiful day and you decide to head out for a ride in your newly washed car. As you are driving down the road, you feel as though every bug in the area has found your clean car and are picking that moment to end their life by flying right into your car. By the time you get back home, your bright, shiny, clean car has taken on a whole new look from all the bugs that are attached to it.
Cleaning bugs off a car can be a lot of work. However, there is hope for you and your car yet. The first thing that you can do is to attempt to clean your car with warm water and car cleaner. Do not use dishwashing liquid on your car as it can cause streaks and take the wax and shine off of your car. Buy liquid wash that is specifically designed for cleaning cars.
Apply the cleaner using a soft cloth or a car cleaning sponge. Never use an abrasive brush or a sponge that has been used to clean other things as they can scratch the car paint. Apply the soap and warm water in a circular, scrubbing motion. Rinse when you are finished and apply the soap again if necessary.
For stubborn bug stains, you can use WD40 and a soft cloth, but it should be rinsed well after you have wiped off the bugs. WD40 can also be used as a preventative measure against bugs. Before going on a drive, spray WD40 on the grill and front of your car which will keep bugs from sticking to it. Rinse your car off as soon as you are finished your drive.
You can also search online for cleaners specifically designed to help with bug removal from vehicles. Make sure that you read reviews on the products before applying them on your car as they could do more harm than good if they are not a good quality project.
It is very important that you take the time to clean bugs off of your car. The more they sit there, the harder they will be to remove. Also, leaving bugs on your car can eventually cause your paint to chip off the car, which you definitely want to avoid.
Don’t hang up your car keys, afraid that your car will become a bug magnet. With a little bit of elbow grease, you can get the bugs off your car. Whether you use warm, soapy water or a special cleaner, make sure that you treat your car gently by applying it with a soft cloth. And remember, the quicker you can remove the bugs from the front of your vehicle, the better.

Once your child becomes mobile, you start a whole new phase in the life of your home. Gone are the days of glass vases on the floor and piles of items such as craft supplies or tools lying around waiting to be put away. The fastest way to organization in the home is to bring a crawling baby or toddler into the picture.
When your baby first comes home, you are typically worried about such things as what kind of diapers you are going to use, which bouncy seat will make them happiest and what kind of eating/sleeping pattern will work best for them. You don’t really start to worry about baby proofing your home until you watch your child move from point A to point B unassisted.
The day that they crawl across the room or take their first step is the day you need to baby proof your home in every way, shape and form. It only takes walking into a room to find your child heading toward an open wall socket or picking up your favorite antique plate to send you into a panic to make instant changes in your home.
When you baby proof your home, you have to think about baby safety first and home safety second. By this I mean think about what can be harmful to your baby first and what your baby can harm second.
The obvious baby safety features you need to start with are wall socket covers, cupboard latches and baby gates. EVERY socket in your home needs to be covered with a safety plug. Even if they are in the most remote part of the home, cover them. Every cupboard that contains anything harmful to your child or contains things that you don’t want thrown all over the floor needs to have a safety latch. Keep one cupboard open and fill it with toys so that it can be your child’s cupboard and they can open it whenever they want to. Place baby gates at the bottom and top of steps. Close doors to bathrooms so that they can’t get into the tub or toilets.
Crawl around on the floor at your child’s level and pick up anything that you don’t want your child to have. This includes any breakables as you can’t expect a curious child to not touch things and explore their surroundings. Anything smaller than a ½ dollar should be out of their reach to avoid having them put it in their mouth and choking. Photo albums and photos should be out of reach as well or they can become stained, ripped or chewed on. If it doesn’t have to be out then it is probably best to pack it away for now or at least put it up high out of their reach.
In addition to these suggestions, you can find other baby proofing suggestions and checklists online. Even after going through these checklists you have to realize that each home and each child is unique and you will probably make more changes as your child grows and discovers other things in the home. Keeping them safe is of utmost important. You can redecorate your home when they are older, but for now your job is to make their home a safe place to live.

Most people can flog a Smurf TV tray, a Pac Man Fever lunchbox , or a slightly-damaged golf bag. But how many people are bold enough to sell our homes on the world wide web?
Plenty, according to a survey by first4sale.com, a new online property website. Research by YouGov, which questioned over 2 thousand UK citizens, observed that seventy percent are comfortable selling their most valuable item - their property - over the net. The comparatively new concept of SIY - Sell it Yourself - could save four billion pounds in unnecessary estate agency commission, reasons first4sale.com. “It reflects consumer confidence in the internet,” says Mark Fisher, First4sales.com chief executive. “The net has over 10 million users in this country. SIY has evolved quickly from dealing in smaller, low-valued possessions. More than one hundred and ninety cars are sold on the Internet each year, and houses are now the latest big-ticket item to sell yourself.”
You can see why. By selling on the net, you avoid the agent’s fees, typically 1ú5 to 2 percent of the total price. Fisher points out that on a œ300,000 house, , the owner could save more than five thousand pounds.
But does it work? Only three months ago, Richard Batten, a computer company director from Finchley, north London, put a deceased relatives house in Golders Green on the market for œ799,000 with first4sale. “I don’t trust agents,” says Batten, “and as I was not under pressure to sell quickly, I thought I’d give it a go.” Within a couple of weeks, Batten had 13 inquiries - mostly from the For Sale board, he adds - and an offer from a family in Hampstead that is going through at just below the asking price. He has had a survey done and Mr Battern hopes to exchange before long. “I do not see the added value from an agent, and this way you deal directly with the buyer.” Now he is selling his own house, shared with his partner. Now he has two potential buyers who did turn up both put in offers. “Altogether, I will save œ25,000 on agents’ fees,” he says.

Finding a home loan that is affordable when you have bed credit can seem nearly impossible and can be very frustrating. However, there are lenders out there who will approve your home loan regardless of your credit history. Yes, there will be some fees and catches associated with this, but it is possible. There are some things you can do, however, to help you buy a home and be approved for a home loan even if you have bad credit. The following suggestions will prepare you for getting a home loan even with poor or bad credit.
Home Loan Tip #1 Online Lenders
Finding a home loan can take up a lot of time going from lender to lender. So, it’s better to shop online for a home loan and have home loan lenders bid for your business. You supply your personal information and then home loan lenders respond to you with their basic home loan rates considering your personal situation. Then, you will be able to quickly choose between a variety of options for your home loan and find the best one for you. Remember, if you have a high interest rate you can always refinance your home loan once you get your credit in shape.
Home Loan Tip #2 Down Payment
A home loan approval for people with poor credit generally requires a 10-20% down payment. Basically, the higher the down payment you can make the better home loan rates you will receive. When you make a large down payment you have immediate equity, which goes a long way to you being approved for a home loan.
Home Loan Tip #3 Mortgage Insurance
If you have mortgage insurance your home loan will more likely be approved. The reason for this is home loan lenders want to feel secure when making a home loan, and if you have bad credit then that security is not there. However, if you have mortgage insurance the home loan lender feels more comfortable making the home loan to you despite your bad credit.

Well I find it time to speak again about linking as I have a couple of times in the past two years. I think I have gone the cycle and I think I have arrived.
What do we want linking to do for us and what can linking actually do for us?
Well we want it to get us traffic. Most of us think it can get us traffic two ways. One way we hope to get traffic is by making the search engines think we are good because of all the links to us. We are hoping that will rank us higher in those search engines.
All the SEO companies want to help us be on the FIRST PAGE of Google. Well with the billions of websites now and all the keywords maxed out - can we all be on the first or second page? Of course not!
So, how much does it really matter where you rank in Google?
Let me give you an example provided by David Notestine from Zeus link management programming. He will provide server logs to back up stats that show:
- they get 6000000 hits per month for Zeus
- about 20 of those hits are from search engines
- about 3 percent result from paid adwords (not profitable he says)
- the remainder are from hits from links on other websites
What should we really expect from our linking strategy. Let’s get hits from links on other sites. Forget that other stuff about pleasing the Google Gods!
So why don’t we all help each other with good linking practices? If you are going to link to me so that others can find my site, why in the hell don’t you make it easy for those visitors to go from your home page to your link index? WHERE IS THE DAM Text to click on for links? If I can’t find it to verify my link, then I know damn well that your site visitors won’t find it or even look for it if it’s that hard to find. As you can see, this really irks me.
Secondly, for your link site to be useful to me, visitors need to find me or my product in that huge directory that we all are trying to develop. The best way to make it easy for searchers to find a link to a website or product is with a “search utility” installed and kept current on the page of that big link directory. Visitors can then search for a product, name or contact and get easy and immediate results.
Oh yes- one late addition here and get one more pet peeve off my chest. Don’t email me requesting a reciprocal link and then tell me to do the work at both sites by adding your link to my directory and add my link to your directory. This really gets my goat!
I hope you can see that a few little things like this will make linking work the way it should for ALL of us and not for just ten or twenty websites! It really can be a simple thing to make linking work for you!

When it comes to internet marketing, traditional web site optimization (SEO) still stands as the holy grail, but an increasing number of small and medium sized business owners, facing the prospect of high SEO fees, are just now beginning to turn to an alternative promotional method that is generating consistent and quantifiable results at a fraction of the cost.
LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) September 17, 2005 - The cost of SEO, at least when it comes to highly competitive keyword phrases, is prohibitive for all but those with deep pockets.
“Matt Hocken, of Interactive Marketing, Inc., estimates that one can expect to pay upwards of $50,000 - $100,000 a year to secure top ten Google placement for a highly competitive keyword phrase like ‘life insurance’ or ‘debt consolidation’ and that’s obviously out of the question for the small to medium sized business,” Ron Scott, Fast Track SEOP’s senior publicist reports.
Even the cost for placement using less popular keyword phrases can be high.
“A Houston publicist recently paid $5,000 to get her website optimized for a small number of obscure keyword phrases that Overture reports are cumulatively generating fewer than 200 inquiries a month. Not told that 50-75% of those searches are being routinely conducted by webmasters, SEOs, and website owners checking the current status of their websites, she’s now wondering if she’ll ever recoup the expense,” Scott says.
So what’s the alternative? Pop-ups? Pop unders? Banner ads? Email? Not hardly.
Unlike an organic search engine optimization program that can take months and even years to start showing results, internet press releases start generating interest the day they are published.
“A properly optimized and distributed press release will typically generate 50,000 - 100,000 actual reads the first week it goes on line,” says Scott.
According to Scott, unlike traditional press releases, 98% of all internet press releases are read by consumers and B2B prospects.
“Originally, press releases were the exclusive domain of the Fortune 500 and were directed to the mass media, but not any more. Small and medium sized businesses have discovered that they can deliver their messages directly to a broad (national or international) or highly targeted (local or regional) audience on the internet and, thereby, eliminate the tedious process of media placement,” he says.
Scott points out that the value of an internet press release promotional strategy doesn’t stop there.
“Press releases can also be optimized for organic search which enables those who find their newly published websites residing in Google purgatory, the opportunity to secure top ten rankings in a week or less,” Scott says.
To illustrate the value of the internet marketing strategy, Scott points to a release he prepared and distributed on behalf of a little known manufacturer in New Zealand.
“The first 30 calendar days, it generated 133,686 reads, drove over 25,000 visitors to their website, and generated 100s of inquiries from B2B prospects all over the world,” he says. “Since that sampling taken at the beginning of June, the release has generated an additional 42,443 reads and a commensurate level of traffic and inquiries.
“It’s the gift that keeps giving,” he says.
Has traditional web site optimization outlived its usefulness?
“For most of our clients it has,” Scott says.
