Internet Advertising Options

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Your online business will likely require more
advertising than a contemporary business downtown, yet
some new to the world of online business do not spend
the time and money to advertise their business
appropriately and are, in turn, loosing money. Your
online business is crammed into the world wide web
along with thousands of others selling the same
product or service as yourself. Consider this
scenario: In your hometown you want to open an art
supply store. In that same town there are thousands
of art supply stores. In order for your business to
be successful, it will have to stand out in some way
from the others. This is exactly what is happening
when a business is opened online. There is so much
competition, that you must take drastic measures to
ensure that you are getting noticed. Advertising can
be done in so many ways online. These are some of the
most successful ways that you can promote your online
business.

Advertising in e-zines is a popular way to promote
your online business. Ezines are the magazines of the
internet; they written on a particular subject and
read by those interested in that subject. Therefore,
ezine readers are already potential customers and
advertising your site in ezines that are related to
your business is almost guaranteed to help drive
traffic to your site and increase sales for your
product. You should be sure when advertising in
ezines that you are not advertising along side
competitors. Ask the ezine producer if there is a
policy concerning posting competing ads. It is also
a good idea to subscribe to the ezine before making a
decision about whether or not to advertise in it. An
ezine that runs fewer ads is a better choice than one
that runs many ads. You can look at the online
Directory of Ezines to find publications that are
relevant to your company.

Pay-per-click programs are an excellent way to
advertise your business without taking a risk that you
have advertised in the wrong place. With
pay-per-click, you can advertise you site and only
pay for those who click the link and go to your site.
Another popular pay-per program is the pay-per-lead
program that allows you to only pay for leads.
Usually this means that you pay for only those who
download a trail, fill out a form or enter a
sweepstakes; whatever you choose. Lastly you can
display pay-per-click banner ads in which your company
would be allowed to place a banner on their site and
you will be charged for every click that your banner
receives.

Opt-In email is a great way to advertise your
business, however it is expensive and it can be
misused very easily. Using opt-in emails, you would
submit your sales copy to the company that will in
turn email it to those on their mailing list. You
should be very careful since some of the companies
that advertise their mailing lists as opt-in email
service is sometimes really SPAM. It is essential
that you have a perfect and effective sales letter
when using opt-in mailing lists. Without and
effective sales copy your money and time have been
wasted.

Cross Promoting Techniques that Work

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Cross promotions are not a new idea. They have been
used by businesses for a very long time. For example,
a real-estate company may promote a certain lawyer to
close a sale, as the lawyer will promote that agency
in his firm. The system is somewhat similar to the
primitive barter system, where people traded items
rather than using money. How can anything primitive
fit into the online world of Internet marketing? Very
easily. Cross promotions are, simply stated, a trade
of advertising space. Instead of paying for
advertising space on a site, you would place their ad
on your page and yours on theirs. There are many ways
to use cross promotions in your internet business that
can be an effective and cost efficient way to
advertise.

One way is to use link exchanges. This is very
effective when doing cross promotions with a company
that is similar to yours, however you should be sure
and never link to a page that is in direct competition
with yours. One of the best things about link
exchanges is that some search engines are factoring in
hits from the sites that are linked to your page to
when determining the ranking. Therefore linking to a
more popular site, can not only increase your
advertising, and traffic, but also increase your
search engine ranking.

When customers or potential customers subscribe to
your ezine you can use this as an opportunity to use
cross promotions. On the same page that the customer
subscribes to your ezine, make available the
opportunity to subscribe to another company’s ezine.
You can even exchange ad space in ezines, and provide
recommendations for those whom you cross promote with.
You might even want to exchange column space in one
another’s ezines.

Writing free articles that inform customers or
potential customers with information that is useful
and accurate can create a reputation for you and your
business. Soon readers will come to know you as an
expert on the subject. In these articles the author
uses a byline to help promote his site. Bylines can
be a way to use cross promotions as well. You can use
part of the space in your byline to recommend
another’s product.

If you have been considering writing an ebook, a joint
venture could mean increased profits for you and the
person you are partnering with. Cross promotions
through ebooks are an excellent way to allow for a
wider topic and to promote both your business and your
partner’s business. The ebook should contain
information that will benefit both businesses and
still be helpful to the reader. A good example of
using cross promotions through an ebook is to a site
selling used video games partnering with a site
selling gaming devices. These are two subjects that
would interest the same reader and most likely lead
the reader to both sites.

You should keep in mind that the recommendations that
you make are a direct reflection of you, so choose
your cross promotional businesses carefully. Also
keep in mind that it would be nice as a shopper to be
able to link from one site to another as a way to
“shop around.” Since this is usually not beneficial
to you, never link or recommend a site that is in
direct competition with you. Instead, recommend those
who are similar, such as health and life insurance.

Designing A Website That Sells

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Would you buy meat from a grocery store that left the
bad meat in with the good meat or wasn’t clean? Would
you buy a car from a sales lot that had totaled
automobiles on the front lot? I wouldn’t and neither
would you. Your website is your grocery store; your
car lot. You must have an atmosphere that is pleasing
to buyers. One that tells that buyer that you are not
an amateur, but instead a trained, seasoned
professional. Your site is a direct reflection of
your product and that is why that having a well
designed website can make or break your sales.

The first thing to keep in mind when designing your
website, is “surfability”. Take a few minutes a look
around at several web pages. What makes them
appealing? Were there some that you closed out of
immediately? Why? Take notes and do your research.
Keep in mind that when a person visits your site they
have a goal in mind. They are either seeking
information or shopping for a product. Give the
person what they want without having to search for it.
Be sure that all the information on your site is
relevant to your product. Make the buyer think that
they need your product to solve their problem.

Your main page serves a very specific purpose. It
should be an avenue by which the customer can shop
your site. It should be easy to view and load very
quickly. This is your first impression and we all
know that first impressions can either close the deal
or loose the deal. Make it simple. It is best to
have links that are easily viewable by the reader that
will navigate them to where they want to be. Tables
are often a great choice when deciding on a way to
design the main page of your site. Your main page
should load very quickly, chances are if it takes the
page more than ten seconds to load even on a 56k
modem, the customer will click away to save time,
hoping to find the information or product elsewhere.
To increase the loading speed of your main page you
should avoid large graphics or excessive graphics. To
many banners or special effects can cause a page to
load slowly as well.

To make your web site more appealing to the eyes, you
should stick to mild colors. If your site is a
content site where the user will be doing a lot of
reading, it is best to stick to black and white.
Color can be added when using tables, as a way to
brighten up the page, but remember to keep the overall
look of the page professional and appealing to the
audience that will be visiting most often. Since
screen resolutions vary among monitors, it is a good
idea to set the pixels to a standard 800×600. You may
also choose to set the tables in your web page to span
a percentage of the page rather than a set number of
inches. This will be sure to accommodate all screen
sizes. You should remember that a lot of Internet
users will not use the same browser as you, and
therefore you should be sure that your site looks as
good on other browsers as it does your own. You can
do this by downloading several browsers through which
to look at your page.

Be aware of the fact that the overall look of your
website is a way to make money. The appearance of the
site, if designed properly, can be an excellent
marketing strategy for your product or service.

Multiply Your Sales Through Affiliate Programs

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

What could be better than exceeding your personal
sales goals for a given month or year? How about
doubling, tripling or even more of you sales goal for
the month? This is exactly what affiliates can do for
you. The amount of growth potential through
affiliates is unlimited; the more affiliates you have
the more money you can make, after all, if Sam Walton
tried to run every Wal-Mart store, he obviously
wouldn’t be very successful. You must realize that
for maximum growth you cannot do it alone. Think of
the success of companies such as Avon or Home
Interiors. Their success is based on two things; a
great product and excellent affiliate programs.

To attract affiliates to your company you should make
it worth their time. Offering one percent of sales,
is not an attractive offer, the higher the commission
that you are able to offer your affiliates the more
affiliates will be tempted to join your team. You
should also provide your affiliates with the tools
that they will need to successfully market your
product such as banner ads, articles, and anything
else that will help them to better market the product.
You should provide the affiliates with updated
product information through newsletters, new
promotional campaigns and other things to motivate and
inform the affiliates.

You can choose to run your affiliate program in a few
different ways, both of which are beneficial to your
business. A one-tier affiliate program allows you to
generally offer a larger commission and pays on one
level. The affiliate will receive a predetermined
amount for each sale. Using a two-tier affiliate
program, affiliates are paid on two different levels.
This is done by allowing the affiliates to recruit
others to sell under them. In this situation, the top
level affiliate would receive a slightly larger
commission than the recruit or second level affiliate.
For example if the top level seller makes 20% of the
sale, then she/he would make 15% giving the second
level affiliate the 5%.

Setting up the affiliate program can also be done in
two different ways. One way is to do it yourself
through an affiliate tracking software. This software
will provide you with a way to track affiliate sales
as well as allow the affiliates to view their
progress. The downside to this option is that you are
responsible for making payments. You can also choose
to hire an affiliate tracking company to do all the
work for you. These companies will allow the use of
credit cards and completely run the affiliate program
from billing customers, paying affiliates, and also
pay you. This is a great option for the busy business
owner or the beginning business owner and it is
affordable as most affiliate tracking companies charge
a small one time fee. However you choose to run your
affiliate program it is sure to increase profits for
your business.

Implementing and Opt-In List to Optimize Your Internet Marketing Success

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

In order to make a success of your website or online
business, it is obvious that you will need customers.
Although everyone who visits your page will not become
a customer, they must have some interest in your
product or service that brought them there in the
first place and therefore they are a potential
customer. Potential customers are much more likely to
become actual customers if you make an effort to keep
in touch with them. This essential marketing tool is
called and opt-in list.

An opt-in list will allow you to keep track of your
potential customers by obtaining their email address
in order to keep them informed about the latest
updates for your product or service. You can create
your own opt-in list or you can use an opt-in list
creator that is available online from several sources.
The benefits of creating your own opt-in list is that
you will be able to send personal messages to the
potential customers and they will not need to do
anything, whereas with commercial opt-in lists, the
customer will receive a generated message and will be
required to verify their acceptance of the message.

An important part of creating a successful opt-in list
is to keep in mind that potential customer will visit
your site from many places and may not see your
homepage. Therefore it is imperative to have the
ability to subscribe to the mailing list from all
pages of your site. You should not, however, make the
subscription information a focus point of every page.
It is a good idea to put it at the bottom or top of
the page where it is visible but not distracting. It
is also a good idea to promote your mailing list by
using a give-away. You could offer a service, a
discount, or an ebook. You can also drive potential
subscriber to join your mailing list by writing
articles that will benefit the reader and at the same
time, build your credibly as an expert. You can
include the subscription information in the byline of
the articles. You could also write an ebook with your
subscription information on each page, which will
allow the customer to easily access the information
and join the list with ease.

Once you have created the mailing list and now have
your potential customers within your grasp it is your
responsibility to keep them updated and interested.
Provide them with quality information that is
up-to-date and of interest to them. Offer discounts
or a newsletter, something that the reader can use.
This will keep them interested and will drive them to
your site over and over, eventually they may make a
purchase and if not, they will be informed enough to
use word of mouth advertising for your site.

Golden Rules For the Use of Autoresponders

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Autoresponders are a perfect way to increase traffic
to your site. They can save many valuable hours by
automatically answering emails concerning frequently
asked questions about a service or product or by
sending a welcome letter to new members of your
program. There are many ways that autoresponders can
help your business. One of the most important is
their ability to track the effectiveness of your
promotions. Since autoresponders are one of the most
popular marketing tools available today, they are
being used by a lot of different kinds of business and
websites. Some of these take advantage of the system
to use the autoresponders in a negative manner. You
should be aware of some of the “Golden Rules” when
using autoresponders.

Thou Shalt Not Use an Autoresponder Address When
Submitting to Search Engines.

Since you will most likely submit your site to search
engines such as Google or Yahoo!, directories,
classifieds, and free for all sites, you should be
made aware of the fact that these sites commonly use
an autoresponder as well. If you were to use your
autoresponder to contact these companies, their
autoresponder will reply to yours and so on and so on.
Thus creating a cycle of autoresponses that will
flood your email box and theirs as well.

Thou Shalt Not Use an Autoresponder to Subscribe to
Ezines or Discussion Forums.

Since most of the time an Ezine will send you updates
and new information regularly, your auto responder
will send them a message each time. In a discussion
forum, every person in the discussion forum will
receive your auto response. This can be irritating
and most of the time you will be unsubscribed. It is
often hard for the administrators of the forum or
ezine to determine who is using the autoresponse and
therefore it is simply common courtesy to never use an
autoresponer in this manner.

Thou Shalt Not Use an Autoresponder to Take Advantage
Of Unsuspecting Individuals.

Some very unprofessional companies will use
autoresponders to respond to an automated message
when this is done the address in the “from” field will be
automatically subscribed to their mailing list. This
is a extremely un ethical use of autoresponders and
those who do it are in jeopardy of creating a very
negative image of themselves and their company.
Rather than promote their service or business, this
usually leads to people becoming very upset and
spreading a negative word about your company rather
than a good one.

The Internet can be a great place to do business and
autoresponders can be an excellent way to save time,
however when used in an unprofessional way, they can
lead to frustration and aggravation for others. Your
company will suffer the loss of much business if you
choose to participate in these abusive practices. The
appropriate use of auto responders can generate a
large amount of business, while inappropriate use can
drive away that business.

Five Proven Methods for Internet Marketing Success

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

There are hundreds of ways that you can promote your
online business or website, some more effective than
others. These five proven methods will help you to
generate traffic to your site and also to generate
income into your wallet.

1. One thing that appeals to everyone is “free.” If
it is free people will take it. Think of the samples
of cheese given away at grocery stores. Do you really
want a small piece of cheese? Of course not! But you
take it simply because it is free and someone is nice
enough to offer it to you. The same principle applies
with information or services offered from your
website. You can send out free newsletters or offer a
free trail period. One popular thing that is being
given away now are free credit reports or free PC
scans. These freebies are what we in the marketing
field like to call teasers. After running the free
credit report or PC scan we alert the customer if
there is something found on their credit record or PC
and then offer to show them what it is or repair the
problem for a price. This can be an effective way to
get information to your potential customers, create
sales or to generate traffic to your site.

2. Your website contains information about a service
or product that you are very knowledgeable about. You
can use this knowledge to generate traffic to your
site by writing articles in your area of expertise and
having them published in an ezine or an article
information site. The most effective way to use these
articles is to write them for free and ask in return
that the publisher allow you to include a byline. A
byline is a very short summary of the author, their
credentials and their website. Your byline is a way
that readers will come to know you as an expert on the
topic and will in turn come to trust your site as a
source of credible information.

3. Some search engines will allow a website to
purchase their ranking. This is an excellent Internet
marketing technique in that it is effective and
inexpensive. In the pay-per-click programs, website
are only billed for those who actually visit the page,
unlike banner ads which may be seen by millions but
only used by a few. When using the pay-per-click
program you are asked to choose keywords and when
those are entered your site will appear and if the
surfer chooses to view your site, you are billed for
that click. Many pay-per-click programs will offer
other benefits as well, such as updated lists of
commonly used keywords.

4. You should remember that others are in the same
boat as you. You can choose to network with those who
have similar marketing ideas. When networking you
will be able to share links and refer customers to
each other. You should always be very cautious when
choosing a networking partner as everything that you
recommend is a reflection of yourself or your product
and therefore, you should be certain that your
networking partner is a reputable source of
information.

5. Simply because your website is online, doesn’t
mean that all your advertising should be. Advertise
in newspapers, TV, the radio or you can even send out
a press release to get your information to thousands
of people all over the country.

Autoresponders = Automatic Internet Marketing Success

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

What if you could send out all the information that
your potential customers have requested without
checking your email or answering a phone? While this
may seem impossible, it is becoming more and more
popular among the most successful Internet marketing
gurus. This is all due to what is called an
autoresponder. An autoresponder is an automatic
method of responding to emails sent by existing or
potential customers and is an must for any Internet
business. Time is money and answering emails
personally take a lot of valuable time for both you
and the customer. Not only do autorespnders allow you
to spend the time elsewhere in your business, but it
gives the customer access to the information almost
immediately.

Since there are so many different uses for
autoresponders, they can be of value to virtually any
type of business. Some choose to use the
autoresponders to answer frequently asked questions
about a product or service. Others use them to
provide information about pricing or product
information. Autoresponders are also a nice way to
welcome new members to a website or group as well as
thank them after a visit.

One might ask what would be the advantage of using
autoresponders as opposed to simply listing the
information on the site. An important feature of
autoresponders is that they send you an email
notification each time a response is sent out. This
allows you to track the success of your promotions as
well as have the email addresses of potential
customers at your fingertips so that you can easily
send out updated and new information to them.

It is of the utmost importance to choose an effective
autoresponder. An autoresponder should be as
personal as possible and send out follow-ups to
potential customers since it has been proven that
persistence pays off. It could take up to seven
contacts before a final sale is conducted. Generally
speaking an advertisement should be short and to the
point. However, in this case, the customer has asked
to see this specific information and therefore an
effective autoresponder should allow you to place as
much text on the page as you desire. The
autoresponder that you choose should provide automatic
updates to customers free of charge.

The autoresponder is one Internet marketing tool that
will not cost you an arm and a leg. You can get free
autoresponders online from several sources. The
automatic responses will be a welcome addition to your
marketing strategy and will help to automatically
increase traffic to your site all while you do
nothing. Be sure that the one you choose includes all
the extras that will send you site to the top and your
profits through the roof.

Effective or Irritating: The Use of Pop Windows in Internet Marketing

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

A few years ago, pop-up windows were all the rage in
Internet marketing. It seemed that every time one
opened a web page they would be bombarded with offers
for this or that. It had gotten to the point where
surfing the Internet was almost like playing a video
game; when the ads would pop-up one would try and
close them out before another one came. This is
precisely why we have seen the decline in the use of
pop-up windows on the Internet today; surfers simply
do not even look at the pop-ups anymore. They close
the windows out before even reading the ad. Very
often, a surfer will even leave your site if there are
too many pop-up ads. They simply do not want the
hassle of closing those windows while trying to obtain
the information that your site has to offer. This
information, while valuable, is not as valuable as the
surfers time. Studies have shown however, that even
with these set backs, pop-up windows are still an
effective method of Internet marketing.

Is there some way that pop-up windows can be less
irritating and still be effective? Yes! What if the
pop ad were seen upon exiting your site instead of
entering? This would allow the surfer to obtain the
information that they need from your site, feeling
that they were able to come and go quickly without
being hassled by other ads and offers all the while
making the surfer happy. You have left the surfer
with a positive attitude and therefore are more likely
to respond to the pop advertisement. This is being
accomplished more and more by using what is being
called pop-under windows. When the surfer comes to
your site, the ad is opened discretely behind the your
web page. Then, upon leaving your site, after
obtaining all the information that they need , will
see the ad and therefore be more likely to respond.
Since the surfer has the information, he has achieved
his objective and is now open to do other things;
ideally respond to the pop under advertisement.

Not all pop-windows are created equally. There are
some things that you can do to make your pop-windows,
whether pop-up or pop-under more effective. The
pop-window should be easy to “escape” from. If the
surfer does not want to see the add, but has a hard
time closing it out, they will likely become
frustrated and could leave your site all together.
You should either use a button to that will allow the
surfer to close the window or be sure that the “x” is
easily visible. Another good idea is to use a script
that utilizes cookies. Cookie will prevent
pop-windows from overloading the surfer since you can
decide the frequency of the pop-windows, rather than
each time a page is opened. Also be sure that there
is no more than one pop-window per page.

When creating a pop-window, you will be asked to fill
out a short information form, select the length of
cookies, and choose the layout of the pop-window.
When choosing the design of the pop-window, you can
increase the effectiveness by creating a large
headline that includes benefits that will be most
appealing to the customer. You should also consider
using incentives and lastly do not ask the customer to
read a long and drawn out advertisement. Keep the
message simple yet powerful and your pop-ads will be
sure to generate profits for your site.

How to Create an Up selling Advantage for your Business

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

How to Create an Up selling Advantage for your Business
By Abe Cherian
Copyright c 2005

Up selling your customers is simply providing the next
logical solution to your customer’s next logical need. It’s
your job to always create that next logical need and
continually sell and sell. There’s always one more thing to
sell.

One of the major mistakes I find in dealing with small
businesses is that they believe once their business has
provided their product to the customer, that’s the end of
the process. There’s nothing that can be more wrong with
your business.

Every sale needs another sale because every need that’s
satisfied will create still another need sometime in the
future. The conclusion that you should draw is that you
must create the up sell and continue creating up sells as a
never ending logical step in the launching of an effective
marketing mission.

You might say, I don’t have any product or service to sell
as an up sell. My answer to that is, develop one.

Even if you don’t produce the product or service, someone
else does and that someone else gladly will pay you for
allowing them to get at your client base so they can up sell
your customers. There’s always something else to sell them.

The practical implications to up selling will most likely
result in forming joint venture relationships. Businesses
today operate differently than it ever has.

Another good example can be seen in the mail order flowers.
On the average, there’s actually 6-10 days from the cutting
of a flower before a customer receives it and puts it in a
vase in their home, whether as a gift or simply to brighten
up their home. The lag time is caused by the traditional
distribution system of wholesalers distributors and
retailers. A real entrepreneur working literally years on
an idea for flower delivery up to 9 days, created a direct
from the grower to the customer via Federal Express. Today
that generates $10,000,000 in sales. What was the
entrepreneur’s product? It was an idea worth $10,000,000.

That business is merely a series of relationships between a
catalogue company, Federal Express, and several independent
flower growers throughout the United Slates. It’s a
business of joint ventures. Even though this guy didn’t
actually have the product or service, he created one.

This leads to find Your Business Within Your Business. A
real powerful concept is to challenge yourself, your
clients, vendors and employees to constantly search for new
businesses within your business.

There are an unlimited number of offshoot businesses you
can create. You could have an offshoot of consulting to
those people that you sell to. You could then communicate
and market and also do seminars and workshops.

For car dealers, they would provide extended warranties and
insurance to new car owners. For a contractor, whether it’s
heating and cooling, pools, pest control or whatever, they
can also provide annual service contracts.

An example would also be a pool contractor for instance
might use up selling through the offering of an annual
service contract to clean and service a pool four times a
year. This can dramatically improve his bottom line. In
fact, this can actually double the value of the customers
by added income of 40% to you while they sign an annual
contract.

Let’s say the service call for a pest control or a pool
service call is $100 and there are 100 customers per year.
There’s a gross of $10,000, which is $100 per customer. The
Up sell strategy is an annual contract where you’re going to
visit four times a year. The cost for each visit to the
customer is $100, so the total cost at this point is $400
(before giving a discount).

If they buy today, you give them a discount of $150, of
which $250 is the cost to the customer. If you close just
40% of these people, your new revenue is $10,000. 40% of
100 is 40 people times $250 which is the cost of the annual
contract.

So, the new value of these 100 customers is $20,000 $10,000
for the service call ($100 x 100 customers) and another
$10,000 for the 40 people who paid $250 for the annual
contract. The value per customer is now $200. You made
$20,000. You still have the same 100 customers. They’re now
worth $200. That’s double the value.

What service can you up sell to your clients? Virtually
every business can add a newsletter or an extra month of a
diet plan for half the original price. Maybe a consulting
service could be provided. The possibilities are endless.
Let your creative mind work for your business instead of
limiting to just one product or service.

Which type of entrepreneur are you?

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Do you know which type of entrepreneur you are? I didn’t until recently until a fellow entrepreneur asked me the question. She asked me, are you

A) a planned orientated person who concentrates solely on a single business model and will not rest until this single business model has reached success?
Or
B) an entrepreneur that is open to change and would seriously consider new business opportunities if they passed his/her way.

I am actually (B) and I knew this immediately. The person who asked me is in the (A) category and she was also sure of this. We discussed the topic for a while and we extrapolated that both types are neither better nor worse, just different. At least I had to got to first base, I knew who I was.

On reflection, I think both types can develop accordingly from each other. Whichever type you are, if you can learn how to bring attributes of the other type into your make-up, you will be definitely be all the more stronger because of it. For example a type A entrepreneur is really stable and works on a structured basis to achieve goals that have been set. They are intuitive.

I act on my gut so a type B is perceptive. Therefore I must learn to minimize other opportunities when there is any doubt for the greater good of my business. I must learn to attain a structured approach to my business and set goals and work in a structured manner to achieve them. Also I must learn to combine intuition with perception.

How a type A person can develop would be to develop their perception and creativity skills and focus their mind to start thinking outwardly instead of inwardly. Usually an A would never entertain another opportunity but if you change your mindset and focus your mind to search for other opportunities, you wouldn’t believe the opportunities that exist online today.

The most significant aspect of this topic was when I was talking to Monica, (the type A above) about the way she worked. She told me that she likes to complete things one at a time. She concentrates on one thing and she puts all her 100% into achieving her goal, then she moves on to the next objective.

She sells online and her argument was “why would one want to look for other opportunities if the single business model that you are doing is successful”?. “Why not just set new goals and develop the single business model even further”?. I said yes you’re right, when the single business model is working and you understand how it works; it makes sense to see how far it can go but……

We ended the conversation by agreeing that no matter what type you are, the success of your business comes down to one thing “Its not how planned , how intuitive, how creative, how perceptive you are in your business, its comes down to how badly you want success”. Finally at last we agreed!

What bald is all about?

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Bald! This little word can be a simple joke for many people but it can also be the worst nightmare for many others.

Being bald may be the dream of many men, since some women are crazy about a beautiful man bald. However, some men get desperate when they realize they are going through a hair loss process.

For those men who are concerned about body, about being handsome and keeping themselves young, baldness may be a serious problem and even generate some psychological disorders, such as social isolation and depression.

These problems are even bigger and more serious when a woman goes under a process of hair loss. Many are the factors for female baldness. The most common has to do with heredity and pregnancy. Bald females may experience tough moments when they find out their hair - symbol of their sexuality - is falling and it is not under their control.

Hair loss is a part of the process of getting bald. Although hair loss cannot be avoided, it can be prevented. Some simples measures can prevent hair from falling. Some factors can be perfect controlled by us, but other factors are independent on our wish.

In spite of it, bald may be pretty interesting for some guys. There are some women that are crazy about bald guys. And in this case, the issue that is usually treated as something negative or with the pejorative meaning of a sign of age, may become the very best friend of men when asking a woman out.

Besides the “natural” reasons for getting bald, such as heredity, stress or environmental effects (radiation, for example), there are still the reasons caused by aggressive drugs therapies. Chemotherapy for patients with cancer is the head of a list that establishes the most common drugs therapies known for causing hair loss.

In the case of getting bald due to drug therapy - especially due to chemotherapy - the experience is even more traumatic, both for men and women. As the disease itself was not enough, the bald represents something as failure feeling, like someone and his/her body was not able to fight that disease.

The psychological effects caused by hair loss due to drug therapy may even hinder the improvement of the disease itself.

However, if we are not dealing with drug therapy, hair loss can be prevented.

Create a Traffic-Stampede with More Web Content

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

If you have an Internet business, then you have a need for quality, fresh content. It has been said that the more content means a greater chance of attracting web visitors.

So basically, more content means more visitors which means more m*ney!

But what if you really hate writing or can’t think of ways to get more content?

If that is the case, then here are six great places where you can easily add quality content to your website.

Google Alerts

Google has a service that sends news, press releases, and website information to your email account. Easy to set up, you enter a search phrase and Google Alerts will send you updates about that specific topic. You easily take this information and create a 100-150 word summary that can be entered into a blog or news section.

To get started, you can check-out Google Alerts:

Public Domain

There are tons of books, magazines and websites full of great content that can be easily copied to your website. Called Public Domain Works, this is content that is written by someone else which has no copyright protection. You have the legal-right to take it and use it for your own purpose. By using public domain works, you can easily create sites with thousands of pages.

Some of the better places to find Public Domain works are or
.

Articles

By using other people’s articles, you can easily add thousands of pages to your website. If you go to an article directory, you can find a large variety of web articles that are related to your topic. In addition, most of these articles are quite informative and provide quality content to your web visitor.

Two of the better places to find quality web articles are and

Outsource Your Content

If you have a little c*sh to spend, you can easily hire someone else to write tons of web content. What I usually do is find about 30-50 profitable keywords in my niche and hire someone to write an optimized article of 400-600 words. Usually you can find authors for around $8-$10 per article. So for a small-investment, you can get great content that is unique and optimized for search engines.

Here are few places where you can find quality (and affordable) people to write content articles: and

Private Label Resale Rights

One of the “hidden” places to get quality content is through websites that offer private label resale rights. With private label rights you get full access to ebooks and articles that are written by other people. You have full permission to change or present the content in any way that you see fit. So if you find an ebook with 101 tips on a topic, you can easily turn this material into a series of web pages. You can also take this one step further and create an autoresponder sequence that is tied into your major affiliate-program.

One of the best places I use to get private label rights is

RSS Feeds

A great way to get fresh content is to have a RSS Feed installed on your website. Basically a RSS Feed is a tool that pulls news items from a website or blog. A great trick is to place the RSS Feed on all your web pages, so search engines see that your content is being consistently updated.

What I usually do is use a feed that pulls entries from my own blog. That way, I can control the content and amount of times that it is being updated.

One of the better places to find a good RSS Feed for your website is .

Although I have given you six great places to get content, there is one thing you should know about using it. Many search engines penalize websites for having duplicate content. So if you know that this information is listed on other sites, you need to change or add to the content. What I usually do is add to or alter about 25% of the content. This will help you avoid the duplicate content filter that is used by major search engines.

By utilizing all six of these content sources, you can easily build up a site filled with thousands of pages of fresh quality content that will attract tons of web-traffic. Once this is done, you will see your income soar through the roof.

The Benefits of Aloe Vera

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

loe has been used medicinally for over 6,000 years. The ancient Egyptians used it to heal battle wounds and cure infections. The early Greeks used it for relieving blisters, burns and leg ulcers as well as healing bowel and stomach disorders.

Today it is found in health products in the form of gels, juices and creams, and also as an ingredient in some cosmetic products.

How it Works

Aloe Vera contains 75 known ingredients including:

ú All the vitamins (except Vitamin D).
ú Enzymes that aid digestion and reduce inflammation.
ú The minerals needed for the enzymes to function.
ú Long-chain sugars that help to re-balance the digestive system.
ú Saponins, which have an anti-microbial effect against bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeast.
ú Twenty of the 22 amino acids (including seven out of the eight essential amino acids that can’t be produced by the body).

It’s thought that the synergistic effect of these ingredients is what gives Aloe Vera its power.

It is only recently that the scientific establishment has started to carry out proper studies of Aloe Vera but the results so far are encouraging. It appears to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and restorative properties. In one study it was found to have a beneficial effect in lowering the risk factors among patients with heart disease. Another study, started in 2005 at the University of Strathclyde, is investigating the effects of Aloe Vera against super-bugs such as MRSA, after finding that it has the ability to destroy bacteria such as E.coli.

The Benefits of Aloe Vera

Small-scale studies and anecdotal evidence suggests that Aloe Vera may be beneficial in the following cases:

ú Applied as a cream for:
- Healing small cuts, insect stings, grazes and wounds.
- Healing and repairing skin tissue after burns, including sunburn.
- Healing skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, general itching.
- Cosmetic uses such as moisturising and improving the elasticity of the skin.

ú Ingested as a gel/juice for:
- Digestive conditions such as IBS, peptic ulcers, acid reflux, Chron’s disease, candida etc.
- Musculo-skeletal conditions such as arthritis, rheumatism, etc.
- Immune-related conditions such as asthma, hayfever and even ME.
- Overall protection (as an antioxidant) against free radicals.

How to Take Aloe Vera

You can grow your own Aloe Vera plant indoors and use it as a quick remedy for minor burns and grazes. Just break off a leaf and apply the gel directly.

If you are buying an Aloe Vera product, always purchase those made from 100% pure Aloe Vera. Look out for the International Aloe Science Council Seal of Approval as a guide.

Natural fruit flavourings may be added to Aloe Vera drinks to make them more palatable, but avoid those that contain artificial flavours and colourings. Clear juices should be avoided as it means the pulp (containing much of the benefit) has been strained. Also avoid those products that use the whole plant, as the outer leaf contains a latex that has a strong laxative effect. If you experience side-effects, such as diarrhoea, you should reduce your dose and consider switching products.

The words `gel’ and `juice’ are often used interchangeably, so some drinks can be described as gels. If taking Aloe Vera internally you would normally take between 2 fl oz (60ml) and 6 fl oz (180ml) per day depending on the acuteness of your condition. If you start out on a high dose you would expect to reduce to the lower doses by about six weeks.

To experience the full benefits of an Aloe Vera product it is often recommended that it is used regularly for a minimum period of three months.

[Please note that this does not constitute medical advice. If you suffer from a medical condition you should always seek the advice of a doctor or your chosen practitioner.]

Effective Internet Marketing Tools that Work

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Anyone who owns a website knows the importance of internet marketing tools. You may have a terrific idea for a website with an excellent product or service, superb design, content and functionality but if you do not use the right tactics, your site may not attract the all important highly targeted traffic. Getting a lot of traffic into a site has very little to do with the site itself but with how the webmaster or site owner advertises it. With hundreds of competing sites, you must employ the most effective internet marketing tools that will truly deliver results.

There are different internet marketing tools that you can use. All these techniques and methods aim at increasing your website traffic. You must find a way for web surfers to find your site. To do this, you must put yourself in the shoes of your prospective visitors and future clients and see the internet through their eyes. Where do they usually go whenever they are looking up something on the web? The answer is the search engine; in fact, the two most popular websites on the web today are both search engines and portals. Thus, you should focus your internet marketing efforts on the search engine.

People will usually search for something using a search engine and click on the top results that these engines give. Therefore, you must use the right internet marketing tools to get a high search engine ranking. To gain a high ranking in search results, you can use several internet marketing tools. Search engine optimization is a set of methods that are aimed at improving the visibility of your site in search engine results. Since a search engine indexes sites by looking at its keyword density, your site’s content must have favorable keyword density that is search engine friendly. Content is one of the most important internet marketing tools itself. If you have excellent content that is geared towards achieving a high search engine ranking as well as provide information then you can expect a high search engine ranking. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. Countless other sites may be using the same internet marketing tools as you do. Thus, you must continuously find new ways of attracting more traffic.

Aside from the traditional marketing techniques such as print ads, billboards, brochures, testimonials, flyers etc. you must use other more effective internet marketing tools to gain more traffic. One of the most popular internet marketing tools today is the use of Pay per Click advertising. In this method, you will bid for a particular keyword in a specific search engine. If you have the highest bid then your sites link will be the top result. This internet marketing tool is now being used by thousands of sites. It is also gaining popularity because of its relatively high success rate in attracting high traffic.

Use Spices To Cook Like A Connoisseur On A Paupers Budget!

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Don’t have the money to make delectable dishes?

Or just don’t know the secrets of flavoring with spices and herbs, and making food stretch?

The former is not right no matter what your income is.

If you have the income to buy enough food to at least feed your family then your income is large enough to make whatever you feed them enjoyable, even if it’s a vegetable dish.

Yes, with the right spices or herbs, and recipes, the children in your family will come to love vegetables. My family has several favorite veggie dishes, that our kids like so much they want seconds. And the main secret to them are the different spices we use.

These dishes range from ratatouille, eggplant parmigiani, to stewed tomatoes and stuffed zucchini.

Just as they do with vegetables; spices, herbs, and sweeteners are the secrets to making all foods delicious.

These three food miracle workers can be relatively inexpensive if you know where to look.

In most health food stores (and in select supermarkets in growing numbers) there is a wondrous invention called a BULK section.

I’m sure everyone knows what this is, but in case you don’t I’ll explain:

It’s a section of a store that has all types of different flours, beans, cereals, spices, herbs, and much more.

Each of which are in separate containers or large plastic buckets with a scoop, that allows you to buy as much or as little as you want of what ever spices or other food they carry.

The store provides you with bags and twist ties, for your convenience.

Spices are an excellent example of how cheap it can be to shop in this section of the store. Most small jars of spices or herbs like basil, oregano, thyme, etc… cost any where from 2 dollars a bottle to 4.99 (which is technically 5 dollars a bottle).

In a bulk section you can buy these same spices, getting twice as much (or more) for less than a dollar or a little over.

Talk about savings! Herbs and all kinds of spices are much cheaper bought this way than paying the extravagant prices you are charged for a pre packaged bottle of the same spices.

Flour and other cooking and baking necessities are also much cheaper if bought in this section of the store.

Note: buying in a bulk section does not mean you have to buy a lot of everything! You could buy only one cup of flour in if you wanted to, or just one tablespoon of any spices or herbs.

Ideally you should shop around at whatever different stores in your area have this special section, and compare prices to make sure you’re getting the cheapest price.

Bring a calculator to the store and be prepared to do a little brain work to figure it out.

Another money saving trick is to substitute ground turkey for ground beef in recipes. You might prefer the taste of beef but in terms of the money you save it will certainly taste heavenly to your budget.

You can spice up bland omelets, scrambled eggs, soups, meat patties and more with the correct spices, and herbs.

Here is a recipe for deliciously spicy eggs, that won’t dent your wallet:

For scrambled eggs try using:

1/4 teaspoon thyme and pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt and oregano

3 eggs

Mix the eggs, spices, and herbs together in a bowl.

Heat a frying pan on medium heat until very hot, then add your oil (preferably olive oil or coconut oil) to the pan. Wait a few seconds until the oil starts to smoke, then pour the eggs from your bowl into the pan.

Have a fork in your hand ready to scramble the eggs with, because they’ll start cooking instantly. Scramble the eggs for 30 seconds to a minute. Then use a spatula to scoop them out onto a plate.

Do yourself a favor and follow these tips to start saving today, and still manage to cook delicious dishes.

10 Reasons to Camp in New Jersey

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

There are literally hundreds of reasons to go camping in New Jersey, but there is one large, and I mean really large, reason:

Where else in the country can you drive less then 3 hours and go from the mountains, to the shore, to the marshlands, to 3 different major metropolitan areas to several major lakes and everywhere in between?
Camping in New Jersey is literally the best of all worlds. There is just about nothing you cannot do while you camp in New Jersey. You have your choice of over 120 campgrounds and State Park facilities to choose from not to mention thousands of acres of public land to explore.

Just about every one of the privates campgrounds in the state have craft activities, pools, fishing ponds, sports activities and so many other amenities I can’t even count. Most of them are clean, modern and well suited to just about any type of camping. They are all within a decent driving distance of dozens of cultural, sports, historical, recreational and children related attractions.
Having said that let me give you the all time Top 10 Reasons to camp in New Jersey:

1. Atlantic City and its world-famous beach and boardwalk, luxurious casino, non-stop gaming action, the hottest entertainers, the best in dining, and quality sporting events.

2. Revel in bay heritage along a scenic waterfront in Somers Point or visit the landmark mansion of original harbormaster Richard Somers, the oldest home in all of Atlantic County, it remains a museum today. Marvel at the world’s only 63-foot pachyderm with a visit to Lucy the Margate Elephant. Or have your children experience their favorite nursery rhythm characters in life size at Storybook Land.

3. There’s the 760,000-gallon open-ocean tank at the New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences At Adventure Aquarium in Camden, just one of the fascinating exhibits depicting sea life from around the state. Or Trenton, the nations second-largest state capital in continuous use and the site of one of George Washington’s greatest Revolutionary victories. Today, you can visit the spot where he crossed the Delaware and tour the Old Barracks, used by soldiers in the French and Indian War. Or, stroll through the New Jersey State Museum and its impressive art galleries.

4. The Delaware Region is home to most of New Jersey’s Pine Barrens, a million acres of preserved forests and waterways. It is, in fact, the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi.

5. Visit Thomas A. Edison’s home and laboratories, where you will see some of his greatest inventions. Stop by a museum solely dedicated to the history of flight. Known as one of the cultural capitals of the United States, the Gateway Region is the home of people from all over the world, whose cultures mingle to produce a rich fabric of life. Here, you’ll find theater, dance and the best in classical music. Included is New Jersey’s state theater, the Paper Mill Playhouse.

It houses the Meadowland Complex with its colorful tapestry of sports and entertainment. Restaurants of all types for all tastes, extensive shopping centers with the best of everything, and activities for children of all ages round out a vivid, exciting region. This is truly a gateway to many vacation alternatives. That’s why when people experience all the Gateway has to offer they keep coming back again and again.

7. Mention the Shore Region, and certain images immediately pop into your head: over 60 miles of pristine beaches from Sandy Hook to Holgate; surf fishing off Seaside Park; perhaps some bodysurfing off Bay Head; or maybe a moonlit walk in Surf City.

8. On the northern fringe of the Gateway National Recreation Area at Sandy Hook stands the nation’s oldest operating beacon, the Sandy Hook Lighthouse. Several miles to the south are the Twin Lights of Navesink, the site of Marconi’s first ship-to-shore broadcast. Further south is Barnegat Light; affectionately know locally as “Old Barney,” built by Civil War hero George Gordon Meade in 1857. And now the newly reconstructed Tuckers Island Lighthouse in the Tuckerton Seaport.

9. Gentle mountains, Skiing, Rock climbing, and Horseback riding. Can you really do all this stuff in New Jersey? Yes you can - and more can be found less than an hour’s drive from New York City. The opportunities of the Skylands Region have always been one of New Jersey Camping’s best-kept secrets.

10. If its amusement park that make you happy, check out Mountain Creek in Vernon. Somewhat more genteel diversions can be found during the region’s numerous winery festivals or at the Sussex Farm and Horse Show in August.

11. Walk along 30 miles of wide sandy beaches, experience the warmth of a Victorian inn, take a stroll through history and enjoy the fresh bounty of the sea at a gourmet restaurant.

12. All along the ocean, the beachfront towns of the Southern Shore Region offer great fishing, boating, beaches and whale-watching cruises, plus fine restaurants and accommodations - not to mention the wonderful campgrounds in the area, to pitch your tent or set up your RV. Cape May County boasts itself as one of the premium camping areas of the country. It all adds up to marvelous fun.

Okay, so I lied.

I couldn’t stop at 10 things, I had to give you 12!

In this article I just barely scratched the surface of what New Jersey has to offer and it can all be done from the back of your RV or the middle of your tent!

Ten + New Investment Concepts, the Time has come.

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

There’s a rumor going around that the Mutual Funds are broken and just can’t work anymore, for a multitude of reasons. They’ve tried index funds, but these, too, have been less than impressive since they hit the street a few years back, and are now being enhanced… what does that say? Here are some new and/or forgotten ideas that can get your investment program back on track:

1. Abandon the popular averages: Over the past six years, all of the major averages are grossly negative or just beginning to get back toward their best past levels. At the same time, the NYSE advance/decline line has been extremely positive. Additionally, the last time the averages were up, issue breadth was totally negative.

2. And the basics of investing, again, are what? Most investors confuse Quality with analyst expectations and think that Diversification means getting one of every product type that’s out there. In fact, they are basic risk minimization tools that every investor needs to use.

3. Appreciate the power of income: Base Income just has to grow every year, period, for a person to have any hope of keeping up with inflation. That’s right, growing Market Value is inflationary. particularly with respect to hat size, and income paves the road to retirement income.

4. Buy low (within reason), sell higher: Profitable company stock prices fluctuate just like unprofitable ones. The difference is that the former are much more likely to move back up again. Buy quality at lower prices (just like any other form of shopping), big BUT, set a reasonable (10% or so) profit-taking target. and pull the trigger. Re-load, and do it again.

5. Embrace The Working Capital Model: For both portfolio Asset Allocation and Performance Evaluation, use the cost basis of your holdings as opposed to their Market Value. This is the only way to use short time periods (a year being the shortest for anything at all meaningful) for any kind of analysis. Also, as a bonus, you’ll never make another fixed income mistake.

6. Fall in love with Volatility, not with securities of any kind: Market volatility is one of the few things (if there are any at all) that you can be certain about. Use it wisely and it will shorten your road to investment success. All too often, unrealized gains on the loved ones become realized losses on the tax return.

7. Remember Peak-to-Peak and Trough-to-Trough: There was a time when tests like these (and variations like P to T, or T to P) where the only valid (Market Value) tests of a manager’s ability. They still are. I have never found a correlation between the calendar year and any market, interest rate, or economic cycle.

8. Corrections are every bit as lovable as rallies: In truth, profit taking is more fun, and much easier decision-making than buying stocks while in the throes of a falling Equity Market. But one is just the flip side of the other, and you need to learn the lyrics to Every Day just as you knew Peggy Sue.

9. Understand The Investor’s Creed: How did trading get a bad rep? What is a stock exchange? Buy and hold just doesn’t fit. The key is timing (not market timing) and selectivity. In a rising market you should be selling more than buying, resulting in a growing cash position. This is a good thing. In a falling market you should be buying more than selling, resulting in a smaller cash position. also a good thing. If you run out of cash while the market is still falling, you are doing it right. By the same token, if you feel stupid having taken your profits and the market is still foaming, your brilliance will not be your only reward.

10. Investing is not a competitive event: It’s all about you: your money, your risk tolerance, your goals, and your objectives. It doesn’t matter what the others are doing, why and how. Think about this. There is no average, index, or benchmark that can be compared to the Market Value changes of a properly diversified portfolio. Nadda.

11. Establish Rules and Apply Discipline. a bonus idea. Just do it.

Media Publicity, Charity Events and Community Fundraiser Promotion

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

You’ve heard the saying a gazillion times:

“Charity begins at home.”

But in this age of mass media, charity that begins at
home can also proceed straight to your bottom line–by
generating publicity for your web site or your business.

And best of all, the mass media–especially the news
media–are ready, willing, and more than able to
partner with you and give you plenty of free publicity.

Charity events and stories about community involvement
result in publicity from the the media for a couple of
reasons.

1. People in the media are sensitive to criticism that “You
only want to show bad news,” and will make every effort to
show uplifting, positive stories whenever possible.

2. It’s in the media’s best interest to build goodwill by
taking part in community events and giving publicity to
them.

3. In the case of radio and TV stations, they MUST show
that they’re serving the community. Otherwise, their
FCC license would be in jeopardy.

4. For the most part (there are exceptions), media people
good-hearted people who WANT to help others and are happy to
give an event publicity–if it’s a worthwhile event.

So, when you want to generate media publicity that results
in new traffic or more traffic to your business or web site,
consider hosting a fundraiser for a charity or community
organization. Let the media know you’re involved through a
press release. It’s often a good idea to ask a high profile
person from the media to be your honorary chairperson.

Also, if possible, offer the media a story about
someone who has benefited from the charity. If you can
“humanize” the work the charity is doing, “put a human
face on it” so to speak, your chances of getting
coverage (that is, publicity), will skyrocket.

And don’t forget to look for opportunities to get media
publicity prior to your event, especially on radio talk
shows.

Fundraisers and events that benefit the community
amount to a win-win-win situation. Obviously, the
charity gets money and attention to their cause, the
media get points for its community spirit, and you get
publicity that would have cost you thousands of dollars if
you had to pay for it.

Early in my radio career, one of my friends used to
sign off his show every day by telling his listeners this:

“Remember, do good and you’ll always do well.”

It’s true in life. It’s especially true when you want
to get free publicity in the media.

“I have a Bad Credit, but I have a Co-Signer with Good Credit. Can I Still Apply?

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

“Oops! You did it again! Didn’t pay another bill? Has debt taken such a toll on your life that you cannot live in peace? Is your bad credit history affecting you so much that you can’t even consider taking a loan? Well, it is common for loan lenders to reject applications from people with bad credit history. So is there any option left, at all? The good news is, there is!.

For someone with a bad credit history, a co-signer is an angel in disguise. Which means that even if you have a bad credit history, you can still apply for loans, if you have a co-signer. So, before beginning the application process, look for someone who will co-sign your loan. A co-signer is someone with a good credit history, who will be held responsible for your misdemeanors. If you don’t pay the loan, the cosigner will have to. If however, you make payments as per the terms, a co-signer is the best way to repair your bad credit. This is a much better option than declaring bankruptcy.

Debt trap is the easiest trap to get into. To wriggle out of it however, takes time, patience and a disciplined financial planning. There is no short cut here. If you have done serious damage to your credit, the information will stay in your credit record for several years. So, make use of a co-signer to start rebuilding your finances. Once you have the loan money with you, the best thing would be to clear your dues even if you have other big plans in mind. In order to build your credit history, it is important to always pay your bills on time and to never borrow or spend more than you can afford. You will damage your credit history by paying bills late or not paying at all.

Limit your usage of credit cards and live on a budget. Be disciplined and learn to resist your urge for spending money casually. Most of all make your loan repayments on time as your co-signer’s credit history is at stake. A co-signer gives you the best option towards a good financial future. So, be careful to never let the angel down!

The Importance Of Newsletters In Business

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Newsletters are sent for various reasons like to abreast customers of the latest happenings inside the company in terms of various product launchings, new business policies and regulations, upcoming events, news about the achievements of the company and its employees and other stuffs that might be deem interesting and helpful to the customers.

Most companies hire the expertise of reputable newsletter printing companies to help them in creating noteworthy newsletters. Newsletter printing companies in a way relieves busy owners of the task of creating eloquently worded newsletters. Nevertheless, there are electronic newsletters that are also being employed nowadays and can be used by some owners. But inspite of this most companies still prefer to have their newsletters created in the old fashioned way-PRINTED.

Printed newsletters especially those that have undergone full color printing still creates that aesthetic appeal that helps customers in associating with the business. Nevertheless, there are also some business owners that creates their own newsletters and assign the task to their human resource department. Although this may save the company some dollars but in terms of the quality of the output one can clearly see the newsletters that have undergone professional newsletter writing from those that are just merely created by business staffs that have no proper training when it comes to newsletter creation.

Poorly created newsletters would not be good especially in building the company’s image because this will show unprofessionalism in the way the business conduct itself. And aside from that poorly created newsletters would just be shunned away by customers and would just be tacked away in some corner and then forgotten. And so to prevent such from happening always makes sure that you hire the expertise of a reputable newsletter printing company, bear in mind that potential customers may be turn-off if ever they received generic newsletters with caption “TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS” and then the newsletters just didn’t show that value. A business must be able to show value and quality all throughout its business endeavors.

Taking Care of Your Sick Dog

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Just like humans, dogs are subject to diseases and illnesses. If your dog gets sick, you may have to take him to the vet for treatment or even surgery. Your dog may have to stay at the clinic for a few days. When he comes home you will have to take care of your sick dog so that he completely recovers.

If your dog has been away from home for one or two days he will be excited and happy to be back again. Staying in the veterinarian clinic was most likely a frightening experience for your sick dog because of the strange people, smells and noises.

As excited as he may be, your dog instinctively knows that he needs rest. Try to provide a comfortable place where he can sleep. He needs to be undisturbed by people coming and going. If you have children, make sure they understand that the dog needs to rest and cannot play like he used to - at least until he fully recovers, anyway.

Give your sick dog a comfortable bed to sleep on. He should be warm and the bedding should be easily washable. A soft cushion covered with a sheet makes a good convalescent bed.

Your vet probably gave you instructions on how to care for your dog. You may have to give him medicine or change his bandages. Your dog may not understand where his source of discomfort is coming from and may try to bite you when you try to touch his wounds. You have to constantly reassure him with gentle movements and soft words that you are not going to hurt him.

Your dog needs plenty of fluid during his recovery period. If he gets dehydrated it can affect his kidneys. Make sure he has a bowl of fresh water at all times, and if he is not drinking by himself you will have to give him water from a bottle or turkey baster. You may have to raise his muzzle slightly so that the he can swallow. If you cannot get your sick dog to drink, call the vet. Your dog may have to get fluids intravenously.

Your dog has different nutritional requirements while he recovers from his sickness or injury. Food should be given in small amounts and can be slightly warmed to make it more palatable to your dog. You can supplement his food with vitamins and minerals - see what your veterinarian recommends.

You’ll probably have to give your sick dog medicine, and this can be one of the hardest things in the world. Liquid medication can be squirted down his throat, but pills are more problematical. Hide them in his food and he is likely to spit them out. Pills have to be placed on the back of the tongue and doing this without losing a finger or two is a real art. If you keep his upper lip between your fingers and his teeth he will not bite down, and this allows you to put the pill on his tongue.

Some dogs are just plain stubborn and no amount of coaxing or fighting will make that medicine go down their throats. If your dog is one of these, you may need to take him to the vet. A bit annoying - but better than not getting the medication your dog needs to recover.

Dog Travel - Taking a Vacation with Your Dog

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Like most dog owners, you probably take your dog with you on weekend excursions and trips to the country. When it comes time to take a longer vacation, however, we always face the dilemma of what to do with Fido.

Traveling with your pup is not always practical, especially if you are flying somewhere. However, there are ways to make dog travel easier and more convenient — it just requires a bit of planning.

The best way of traveling with your dog is to go by car or recreational vehicle. You can make as many stops as needed and your dog has the space to stretch out. Dog travel by plane is a little bit more complicated but it is not impossible.

If you are planning on flying somewhere with your dog, she will probably have to go in the cargo hold. This can be stressful for dogs, as the cargo hold is noisy and cold. Most airlines will not allow you to take your dog with you during winter weather — it is simply too cold for a dog!

When traveling with your dog, always keep in mind her safety and comfort. She should have plenty of water to drink at all times, but since she will be less active during the actual traveling time you can probably cut back on her food a little bit.

Think about where you might be staying

Where are you going to stay when you are traveling with your dog? If you are planning on staying in hotels, be sure you know their restrictions and policies regarding dogs. Some hotels will not let you leave the dog alone in the hotel room. If you want to attend an event that prohibits dogs, you will have to arrange for a pet sitter for a few hours. If your hotel caters to dog travel, they may be able to help you locate a local pet sitter.

Maybe you’re going to stay with friends when you are on the road. If your dog likes to jump on the furniture you should bring along a couple of old sheets to use as cover slips. Your friends will appreciate this touch and will be more likely to welcome you back for future visits with your pup.

Your dog will feel more secure if you bring some objects from home. Although she will be happy to be with you, if she has her bed and a few toys she will feel more comfortable and less anxious. This will make dog travel more enjoyable for everyone involved.

Because of their natural curiosity, dogs make wonderful travel companions. They also pave the way for making new friends when you are on the road. Dog travel can provide some of the most memorable vacations of your life and give you new perspectives and experiences everywhere you go.

How to Deal With Fools

How to Deal With Fools
Copyright c 2005 Chris Bloor

“Do not answer a fool according to his folly” Proverbs 26:4

One of the sad realities of owning an ezine is that from time to time you will encounter fools.

Fools that take offense to something that you have written and decide to send you horrible, abusive messages.

When This Happens You Have Three Choices.

Lets examine each one and see which has the best merits.

1. You Can React.

Someone sends you a profane, abusive message. They rave on about how much they dislike you - or your website - or your newsletter.

I even had one guy write and say; “I hate your ezine. I hope that you and your family all get cancer and die!”

Now the human reaction is to think: “Who does this guy think that he is? How dare he send me stuff like this” I’ll give him a piece of my mind…”

The problem with reacting is that you end up giving precious ‘mental energy’ to dealing with a fool.

It just isn’t worth it.

Fools cannot be reasoned with.

If they could, they would not have sent you an abusive message in the first place.

Writing back and saying something like; “Oh Dear! Does your Mommy know that you are off the medication again?” might make you feel better - momentarily - but it could add fuel to the fire and you could end up with some complete lunatic whose only purpose in life is to think up new ways to annoy you.

Besides, you have better things to focus on.

2. You Can Respond.

Here is what I do. I check their e-mail address against my subscriber base and simply delete them.

I remind myself that the good book says: “Do not answer a fool according to his folly” and I make a “decision divorced from emotions” to not give the fool a nanno-second of my precious time.

The result?

I experience less stress and focus on the good aspects of my life.

Oh, did I mention that I add them to my blocked senders list so that if they try to contact me in the future, their message simply goes into my deleted items folder?

3. You Can Report Them.

Lets say that someone sends you a life-threatening email. (I’ve had it happen) What should you do then?

I report them.

I contact their ISP (Internet Service Provider) I go to their website, look for the contact button and explain what has happened and that I will hold them legally responsible should they allow the individual in question to continue using their service to harass me in any way via e-mail.

The Result? Most ISP’s worth their salt will immediately delete the individuals account.

I also would report their threats to the police.

React
Respond
Or Report.

The first will only lead to stress.

The second will deal with 99.9% of the situations you will ever face.

The third is the best way to deal with any serious threats.

I hope that this helps.

Remember - look at things in perspective. At the time of writing I have tens of thousands of opt-in readers to my various online newsletters and can count on the fingers of one hand the number of fools that contact us with abuse and hate mail each month.

Look on the bright side.

Focus on the positive!
