How often do people loose their email data?
Is this important to backup your email client before loosing important emails?
Are you thinking it won’t happen to you?
Well, for those who use an email client and loosing their emails is one of the worst nightmares. Unfortunately this situation is quite probable.
There are several causes for this:
- Hard disk failure
- Viruses and Trojans
- Windows crashes
- Some time un-expected things
Hard Disk can fail from several reasons: logical problems like bad partitions, hardware problems caused by dropping them or something on them, or, sometimes they just stop functioning. You can use several data recovery tools like GetDataBack or Acronis, which might save your day. But you might not be able to get back any byte.
Viruses are increasing their numbers day by day. It’s hard to keep up even for the big players like Symantec or Kaspersky. They reduced the response time for a new virus, but if you are unlucky, the virus crashes your computer before you can apply the antivirus.
Well, we all know how reliable Windows is. There is no person that can say he never saw a “blue screen”. Because most of the email clients store email, account and settings data in My documents, Program files or in Windows registry. When you reinstall the operating system you loose them all. Even Microsoft CEO Bill Gates acknowledged that they counted 5 percent of total Windows based computers to crash twice every day. Here’s a small report: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/25/technology/25SOFT.html – September 1, 2005.
The best way to count those situations is to backup emails on a CD or another hard disk. People who know a little about Windows and computers can do it by hand. Outlook Express is still the most used email client.
If you want to backup Outlook Express by hand, you have to save registry keys and DBX files. Saving messages, signatures and the address book can be done within the email client, but for settings you have to search through Windows registry. It can be pretty difficult to do it for a beginner.
After a long search now I found a tool that can do this job automatically. Adolix Outlook Express Backup: http://www.adolix.com/outlook-express-backup/home.html You can use this software to backup Outlook Express, IncrediMail and some other email clients. It’s an email saver program that can backup and restore emails, addresses, folders, signatures and options.
What it cannot do is backing up Outlook Express and restoring to Pegasus Mail for instance. Synchronization can take place between different instances of the same email client.
It can be used to move emails from one computer to another. For instance if you own a laptop and a PC, you can transfer emails between them. Furthermore, you can backup Outlook Express from Windows98 and restore it to Windows XP.
Adolix Outlook Express Backup has a wizard mode for beginners, but the most experienced users can use Standard mode for more speed. It costs only $24.95 and I think worth for too much.
It’s pretty clear that anyone can loose emails. So backing up your email client is essential, but you have to decide whether to do it by hand or to purchase a tool like Adolix Outlook Express Backup.

Your career choice can effect your entire life course and significantly influence your personal satisfaction.
Make right choices in your career development plan with the aid of The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality test and The Strong Interest Inventory.
First discover your personality type and personal interests. Then find more meaningful and productive work. Make your career search easier, plan your development and manage your change.
Research has clearly shown that people are attracted to those careers that allow them to make use of their natural type preferences.
The use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality test in career counseling to help people find meaningful and productive work was one of Isabel Myers\’ original motivations in the development of the instrument.
Make your career search or career change easier. The two primary tools are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) persoanlity test and the Strong Interest Inventory. Both are useful when applied to career issues and they complement each other. The Myers-Briggs will help you understand how your personality affects your career needs. The Strong compares your interests to those who have expressed satisfaction with their careers for at least 3 years.
Here are some points to keep in mind when using these tests for career searches:
Personality type can give you useful information on a variety of issues related to career choice.
There is more to your personality than your type preferences. So when you make career decisions you will want more information about yourself in addition to knowledge of your type.
Combined tests or test packages can help your target careers that are compatible with your personality
Tests You Should Take at Ransdell Associates.
Consider taking one of the test packages such as the \\\”Professional Career Package\\\” useful with managing career change and conflict, or the \\\”Maximum Career Package\\\” for enhancing communication, staying motivated, and career development. Review all six \\\”Test Packages\\\” and pick the one that will best help you maximize your learning curve in understanding your personality in relation to career preferences.
Many people use the MBTI personality test as a place to start their career search. I believe that\’s a good idea. The\” MBTI Interpretive Report for Organizations\” relates your MBTI preferences to likes and dislikes in work settings. If your primary interest is career validation or career change take the \”MBTI Career Report\” or the combined \”Strong and MBTI Career report\”. The MBTI Career report is a graphic representation of your best occupational matches along with a list of the 50 most popular and the 25 least popular careers for your personality type.
Be sure to read the sample report on The MBTI Career Report and the sample report on the Combined Strong and MBTI Career Report. Many people struggle to find a career that they will be happy and successful in. Using a systematic approach to making a career transition decision can help you identify your ideal career.
Career Matches and the Strong Interest Inventory
The Strong Interest Inventory is based on the idea that individuals are more satisfied and productive when they work in jobs or at tasks that they find interesting and when they work with people whose interests are similar to their own. The Strong takes about 25 minutes to complete and contains 317 items that measure your interests in a wide range of occupations, occupational activities, hobbies, leisure activities and types of people. Your interests are compared to thousands of individuals who report being happy and successful in their jobs. Your personalized report identifies your optimum career choices based on your interests and includes additional related occupations with concise job descriptions.
Ransdell Associates offers 9 variations of the Strong assessment under \”Career Testing\”. Two of the reports combine the MBTI and Strong.
The \”Strong and MBTI Career Report\” focuses on issues of career choice and career search. The report identifies occupations with emphasis on those suggested by both instruments and gives you an effective way to interpret the two instruments together.
The \”Strong and MBTI Entrepreneur Report\” gives you an in-depth look at your entrepreneurial potential. If you have entrepreneurial aspirations, this report is for you!

If you feel as though you professional and personal lives are at stake if you lose all the data that you have stored on your computer, then it may be time to think about investing
in data recovery.
Believe it or not, only 2% of the billions of gigabytes of information there is out there is
backed up and even less has any chance of being fully recovered.
We, however, are quite certain that a far greater proportion of that data is of value to “someone” out there and certain that that “someone” out there would be very upset if that data were lost.
And therein lies the dilemma, in that when that “someone” goes out to protect their valuable commodity, they hire these big expensive firms that charge thousands of dollars to back up your data because they know that your data is one of your most valuable commodities.
The end result of which is these firms that value the job of recovering your data not on the amount of work, but on how much personal and professional value you hold in your data.
And because professionals tend to hold their data in such high regard, they have no hesitation when it comes to shelling out whatever some big firm asks for to protect their valuable data.
There are, however, much more affordable alternatives that cut the costs of your data recovery.
If your data is particularly sensitive or just so massively important your professional and personal life would be ruined if it were ever to be lost, maybe a reputable firm is the answer and costs should be negligible.
If you are, on the other hand, an everyday computer user of whom the loss of your data would result in a big inconvenience rather than an end to your professional life, you might want to consider the use of data recovery software.
Because as much as there are firms that are willing to take your extra dollar based on your desperation rather than the actual work involved to set up your data recovery, there are a number of very affordable data recovery software of which are just as reliable as hiring a firm to do the work.
And if you have a particular flair for network technology, the data recovery that you set up on your own will have the same reliability than a firm but for hundreds, maybe thousands less.

Heading north along the coast road Bagamoyo is a seventy minute drive from Dar es Salaam. Bagamoyo is a charming village steeped in a rather bloody history. Most of the great explores, including Livingston used this port, also the slave traders used Bagamoyo as a slave trading post and from here the slaves were shipped to Zanzibar to be sold.
The small bay has lovely white sand beaches, fringed by swaying palms. Technology and the industrial revelation have has little impact on this small community. Fishermen to this day brave the waters off the coast in hand-built wooden dhows of ancient Arabian design spreading their crescent moon shaped sails to catch the prevailing trade winds, they share the waters with tiny dugout canoes that bob uncertainly in the water. The village itself is charming albeit a little dilapidated.
Bagamoyo was named by the slaves, as they left broken and worrying about their families they had left behind – the name means `lay down your heart’ in Swahili. Although the slave trade officially ended in 1873, slaves continued to be sold and traded in Bagamoyo through the end of the nineteenth century.
The Kaole Ruins are a few kilometers south of Bagamoyo and they date back to the thirteenth century. The ruins are of two mosques and several tombs, and this site claims to be home to the first mosques in east Africa. This site is interesting as the buildings were all constructed using coral stones and there is a small museum here.
The Roman Catholic Mission is a picturesque mission, and again is said to be the oldest Roman Catholic Church in East and Central Africa and dates back to 1868. In 1874, Dr. Livingstone’s body stayed at the Catholic mission before being sent to England for burial. In the 1800s – revolutionary, Christian missionaries established a `Freedom Village’ at the mission to protect freed slaves and by putting their lives in danger these brave people were instrumental in stopping the slave trade.
Chuo cha Sanaa is a great place to visit. Students come here from all over the world to learn traditional Tanzanian drumming, sculpture, carving and painting. It is possible to hear an African drumming performance at the college, but much more fun is to enroll for a class and become involved with African art, carving and drumming – something to impress your friends with when you return home.
The official residence of the colonial governor was the German Boma. During German colonial rule, Bagamoyo was the capital of Tanzania. Although you cannot enter the building, you can walk around the outside – which isn’t as interesting as it sounds.
Other historical, if somewhat gruesome, sites include the German Hanging Place, the site where the German colonial government hanged Africans who rebelled against the German colonial government in the late 1800s. A site to interest all mothers is the tongue twisting Mwanamakuka Cemetery’s with the oldest tomb dated 1793. Many colonial soldiers who were casualties in the Maji Maji Rebellion are buried in the German Cemetery.
>From Bagamoyo it is possible to take boat trips to the Ruvu River Delta. From the boat you will see several species of mangroves and water birds. Hippos also swim in the Ruvu water and you’ll catch glimpses of them along the shore and in the water.
Most hotels will arrange for dhow trips sandbars [make sure your medical insurance is up to date] to offshore. On the sandbar you will have several hours to relax or snorkel the surrounding reefs.
The hotels here are charming. Bagamoyo is the place to visit is you have a day or two spare and need to get away from Dar es Salaam.

Here are some common thoughts that we have heard as we have talked with people who are already retired or are looking at retirement. These misconceptions shape our thinking and impact how we see ourselves living out this time of life called retirement. They create the Grey Years rather than the Golden Years we desire.
“True success is retiring to do nothing.” Being successful means accumulating enough so you have to do nothing.
“At 65 I’m no longer capable of working. I’m too old.”
“When I retire, I should start winding down. I need to take it easy.”
“I want to retire while I am still healthy so I can stay healthy
Truths about retirement
Enjoy these facts.
1. In the 1930′s Roosevelt created Social Security to provide a pension for workers 65 years and older. This was to create openings for younger workers by removing seniors from the workforce during the Depression where there large numbers unemployed.
It was not created from the basis that 65 year olds and older were unable to work. We need the creativity of older people even more today. Creativity generates jobs. Older people are needed in the work world!
2. Generally, we are healthier than ever have been before. A recent cover of AARP, a magazine for people over 50, announced: “Sixty is the New Thirty.” Immunizations, medications, health knowledge and education have made a huge difference.
3. Our longevity has increased. A 65 year old man can expect to live until age 83, while a 65 year old woman could possible reach age 85. If you are in your 40s, and retire in your 60′s, you will likely be retired a minimum of one quarter of your life.
Those living to one hundred years of age have increased. The 1960 census listed about 3000 centenarians. Today, that number is estimated at 7000, with predictions of 4.2 million people reaching that age by the year 2050. If you are 50 now, you could be one of the 4.2 million!
4. Winding down leads to poor health. People who study aging describe the “Use it or lose it” phenomenon. We keep our health by using it. We need to be active physically, mentally and emotionally. Studies have shown 90 year olds are capable of increasing muscle mass and tone moving from beds and wheelchairs to walking without aids.
And the good news is: It is never too late to start. We have the capacity to grow emotionally, physically and mentally at any age.
George Bernard Shaw, an Irish dramatist, won the Nobel Prize for Literature at 69. He wrote his last play at 93.
Grandma Moses, a renowned American folk artist, started painting at 78 because her fingers were too stiff to continue with embroidery.
Pablo Picasso’s 90th birthday was celebrated with an exhibition at the Louvre in 1971-the first time a living artist had ever shown their works there.
5. AARP reports that 80% of boomers plan to work during retirement. Hurray, people are recognizing that we have to be active with a degree of risk to be healthy and stay healthy.
People who have had a great deal of stress at work often have a shock when they retire. Imagine taking a fine sports care, a Ferrari and having it rev in the parking lot. Soon it self destructs. So do we, without some stress, some reason to be alive.
An example: This spring we met Don, a 4 year retired IBM executive. Don handles his retirement by consulting and traveling in a motor coach with his wife, Sue. Don shared that 2/3 of his peers died within 2 years of their retirement.
Alan, another retiree described how two of his colleagues retired the same day he did. Both of them cleaned out their desks, then sat there. Alan asked them what was wrong. They shared they wanted someone to phone and cancel the retirement. Both had heart attacks within 6 months of retirement. Alan continued to work with part time consulting in his area of expertise.
For many men, it is not the work that killed them but the emptiness of retirement. Golfing, fishing and visiting the children are not enough. We need to be challenged and growing.
6. Many retirees are looking for personal growth, activity, purpose. In 2000, the University of Arizona conducted a study of what baby boomers wanted in housing.
Large numbers had moved away from the retirement housing concept to integrated communities involving families and seniors together. They wanted an active lifestyle with a sense of community where they could give to others.
7. Connecting to what makes you passionate and purposeful brings the greatest degree of joy, health and life satisfaction.
Dave, when an airline pilot in his 50′s was grounded. “I was lost, devastated. I realized then that I needed a purpose when I retired, too.” He enjoyed people and on his holidays often walked around looking at houses. He combined the two by selling real estate. He is successful too, while he mentors new real estate agents.
This phase of life called retirement is a new phenomenon. Baby boomers are caught in a change. We are conditioned by what we saw our parents and older colleagues experience, yet the reality is quite different. The challenge is to enjoy the opportunity that is offered.

The spice islands of Zanzibar refer to an archipelago of fifty or so islands with Unquia and Pemba being the largest. The main island is more commonly referred to simply as Zanzibar and to all intents and purposes Unquia is Zanzibar.
Stone Town is the capital, the port and entrance to this spiced island. Entering this small port by ferry from Dar es Salaam is certainly an unforgettable experience, never failing to make the most worn-out traveler eager to explore this ancient port.
As you step onto the wharf the smell of cloves is carried on the breeze to greet you; immediately you are aware Stone Town is out of the ordinary. Arab dhows white-sails shaped like the crescent moon, sail gently out of the harbor and pass along the miles of palm fringed beaches. Stone Town transports you into the past. The whole atmosphere is of medieval times, veiled women, their hands and feet hennaed with elaborate patterns, haggle in the markets and small shops which cluster the peripheries of the town.
Take time exploring the interweaving narrow streets, taking care not to become disorientated, passing intricately-carved wooden doors heavy with brass studs and beneath ornate balconies; allow the imagination to transport you back in time to the dark days of the lucrative slave trade and spice industry. Visit the immense House of Wonders and then the heartrending ruins of the Old Slave Market, which is dominated by the old church of Christ Anglican Cathedral, its altar on the site of the old whipping block.
Spice tours are a specialty of Zanzibar and best taken from Stone Town. On the Spice tour you will learn about fifty different spices and fruit that grow on the island, from cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cloves, to jackfruit and sugarcane. The spices together with the Indian and Arabic influences have produced a unique `Swahili’ cuisine.
Zanzibar is a seafood lover’s paradise. The freshest catch from game fish to giant lobster and crayfish are on offer. Dinner at the nightly fish market in the Forodhani Gardens on Stone Town’s waterfront where a collection of stalls serve up freshly cooked seafood is not to be missed. It is a giant seafood barbeque where you can eat out in the open and mix and chat with the locals.
The rest of the island is characterized by beautiful sandy beaches, coral reefs, warm clear blue waters and idyllic islands. The reefs are excellent for snorkeling and diving and further out fantastic deep sea fishing is offered. There are many resorts on Zanzibar from budget beach huts to five-star resorts.
Many see the beaches around Zanzibar as split into the North and the East. This is a false dichotomy and there are excellent beaches on many areas of the Island. Tour operators have their favorite parts of the island and although many say one side is superior to the other this is not true.
Breezes Resort is on the east side of Zanzibar and is a wonderful romantic resort, especially suited to honeymooners. Matembe Bungalows in on the north-east side of the island is as first rate lodge perched on low cliffs and is close to the best diving areas. Some claim the beach here is the most beautiful and it is the most isolated beach. I normally settle in Nungwe Village on the northern most tip of the island – it is famed for its tradition of boat building and one of the most popular locations. The secret is in finding the right resort on the right beach for your particular needs; a resort for the family or maybe close to the best diving, or maybe a resort enjoying a vibrant night life; it all depends on what you prefer.
Religious and cultural traditions make the matter of dress code an important consideration. Men and women should dress appropriately when away from the beach, covering shoulders, women with sleeves preferably to the elbow and legs covered to below the knees. Try to wear loose-fitting, non-transparent clothing when in public. Zanzibar people are very warm, open and hospitable. It is considered polite and respectful to ask for permission before taking photographs or filming local people. You may see tourists dressed inappropriately in Stone Town and this can and does cause offence.
On the coast beachwear is fine, in the resort, however in the villages it is better to dress more modestly. When offering or accepting things, try and remember to offer and receive with your right hand. This is the hand which should also be used for eating.
Having said this Zanziabrian’s are warm hospitable people. Enjoy this island and remember to venture out of your resort to do some exploring and make the most of your time on this very exotic island.

You will occasionally want to move a rose bush from one
location to another, but fear shocking the bush too much and
having it die. However, here are two effective ways to
minimize the shock to the bush so you can successfully move
it to another, more suitable place in your flower garden.
The first, and simpler way, is by driving a spade down
vertically to its full length of blade about twelve or
fifteen inches from the bush and repeating the process in a
circular form until all lateral roots have been cut. This
should be done in June or early July and the bush should be
moved two or three weeks later.
Dig a sloping hole leading to the vertical spade-cuts on one
side, remove some of the surface soil round the bush to
reduce weight, drive the spade under the plant, and gently
lift it in a ball of earth. The ball can be made more
adherent by wetting and dabbing the outside of it. Slide it
into its new hole by way of another sloping cut, fill the
spaces round the ball with friable soil and water it
heavily. The bush must be pruned and all leaves carefully
clipped off to reduce loss of moisture and consequent
shrivelling.
You see, by cutting any strong root at a reasonable distance
from a plant, it forces the growth of many smaller ones of
the feeding type. Roots feed only through their terminal
points, and so the greater the number of small fibrous roots
the better a bush can feed from the soil.
The second, and less simple way, is to prepare the rose for
the move by digging a trench in early spring in a semicircle
round the bush at a radius of a foot, or slightly more, from
the stem, depending on the size of the plant. This will cut
the roots in that part. Fill the trench with loam that is of
good quality but does not contain fermenting manure of any
type. A network of fibrous secondary roots will form and
permeate the rich new soil. After three months, about
Christmas time, complete the circle in a similar manner. In
the autumn, about four months later, the bush can be lifted
with a good ball of earth held together by a mass of fibrous
roots.
The rose bush has been safely root-pruned in either method
of transplanting, and will reduce shock ensuring the plants
survival. You may be wondering why you would need to use
that second, more involved method, when the first method is
so simple. Well, the only time it is necessary is when
moving a very large old rose plant.
So now you have 2 great methods for successfully
transplanting rose bushes. Although you don’t want to do it
very often, feel free to get your flower garden just the way
you want it! Happy planting.

Flowering Dogwood trees can be easily grown from seed. However 99.9999% of the seedlings that sprout will be Cornus Florida, which is White Flowering Dogwood. It doesn’t matter if you collect the seeds from a White Dogwood or a Pink Dogwood, the seedlings are likely to be white.
The only predictable way to grow a Pink Dogwood, Red Dogwood, or one of the beautiful Dogwoods with variegated leaves, is to bud or graft the desired variety onto a White Dogwood seedling. That’s why the botanical name for Pink Dogwood is Cornus Florida Rubra. Cornus means Dogwood, Florida indicates White, Rubra indicates Red or Pink. Cornus Florida Rubra indicates Pink Dogwood grown on White Dogwood rootstock.
Between budding and grafting, budding is the most common technique used in the nursery industry. Grafting is usually done in the late winter months when the plants are dormant. When you graft a plant you remove a small branch (4 to 6 inches) from the desired variety, trim the end of the branch to expose the tissue under the bark and then trim a taper on the end. You then trim the seedling in such a way to match and receive the branch you are grafting on to it. Timing, temperature, and humidity are all critical to the success of the procedure, which is usually done in a greenhouse.
Budding is much easier, and does not have to be done in a controlled environment. Most budding is done later in the summer when the bark on the seedling slips easily. That means that when a cut is made in the bark of the seedling it can be easily pulled away from the tissue layer under the bark. This tissue is known as the cambium layer. Here in the north Crabapples and other fruits are usually ready to bud around mid to late July, while Dogwoods are not ready until late August.
Unlike grafting where you use a small branch to attach to the seedling, when you bud you insert a single bud under the bark. Budding is usually done down low on the seedling, very close to the soil. You can bud up higher, but any new growth that appears below that bud must be removed because it will be identical to the rootstock and not the desired variety.
The budding process is quite simple. Just clip a branch from the tree of the desired variety, this is known as a bud stick because it has many buds that can be used for budding. The buds can be found at the base of each leaf. Look closely where the leaf emerges from the branch and you will see a very small bud. In the fall when the tree goes dormant the leaf will fall off, and bud will remain. The following spring the bud will grow into a new branch.
When you slip that bud under the bark of a compatible seedling, it will grow the following spring just as if it were still on the parent plant, with all of the qualities of the desired variety. Almost all fruit bearing and ornamental trees are grown this way.
Just make a “T” shaped cut in the bark of the seedling. A horizontal cut about ¬” long, with a vertical downward cut about «” long. The two cuts should intersect at the top of the “T”. Don’t cut into the cambium tissue, just slice the bark and open it up slightly with your knife or razor blade. Now you are ready to remove the bud from the bud stick.
First clip off and discard the leaf from the bud that you are about to remove. When you remove the leaf, leave the stem attached to the bud stick, just remove the leaf itself. The stem makes a nice little handle to hold on to. To remove the bud from the bud stick just cut into the bark and under the bud, it should pop off easily. Again, don’t cut into the cambium tissue, but make sure you are under the bark so you don’t damage the bud. Along with the bud you will have a small piece of bark shaped like a tiny banana peel, and the stem from the leaf.
Visit this page for photos of this complete process: www.freeplants.com/budding_fruit_trees_
and_ornamental_plants.htm
Holding the bud by its handle (the stem) slide it into the “T” shaped cut you made on the seedling. Make sure you put it in right side up. The stem and the leaf should protrude through the slit, and the stem should be pointing toward the sky at an angle. Push the bud all the way down into the slit by catching the bark, (not the bud) with the tip of your knife.
Now cut a rubber band so that it is no longer a loop and wrap it around the seedling to close the opening so dirt, water, air, and insects can’t get in. Make a wrap below the bud, and a few wraps above the bud. Use a rubber band approx. ¬” wide, and be careful not to wrap too close to the bud, nor too tight.
You don’t want to strangle the seedling, it needs to be healthy and happy so the new bud will bond to the cambium layer. Leave the rubber band on until early spring, at which time you should remove it, and clip off the top of the seedling just above the bud. As the plant comes out of dormancy the bud will begin to grow into a new branch just as if it is still attached to the parent plant, except that now it is going to grow upright and form the stem of a tree.
When this new growth reaches a height of 3 to 4 feet, clip the tip off, this will force it to start putting on lateral branches. Once these lateral branches are 18″ long or so, you can remove all the growth from the stem below where the lateral branches start. Now the plant should look like a beautiful little tree. And that makes you the proud parent!
With all of that said, today it is possible to grow Pink Dogwoods by rooting cuttings under intermittent mist, however, it is tricky, and my few attempts have failed. ??? Most nurseryman still bud them.

Choosing the Right Pepper Spray
There are so many types of pepper spray on the market today that it has become confusing for you to decide which one to get. There are three basic chemical compounds that compose these defensive sprays.
CS (Orthochlorobenzalmalonitrile)
CN (alphachloroacetaphenone)
OC (Oleoresin Capsicum)
The first two, CS and CN, irritate the membrane tissues and cause stinging and tearing. They can take from 5 to 30 seconds before they are effective and may not work if someone is drunk, on drugs, psychotic, or can’t feel pain. The time delay and the fact that they may or may not be effective, is enough to turn people away from the self defense sprays. However, the remaining compound, OC, does not have these limitations.
OC, or Pepper Spray, is an inflammatory agent; not an irritant. When someone is sprayed with OC pepper spray, the person’s eyes slam shut. Even if someone does manage to get their eyes open, they won’t be able to see because OC dilates the capillaries and causes temporary blindness. Additionally, instant inflammation of the breathing tissues restricts all but life suport breathing. They double over coughing uncontrollably.
But I hear about people who aren’t affected by pepper spray?
What you have heard about are the man made chemical compounds commonly referred to as CS or CN. These are your tear gases. For example, military personnel are subjected to similar chemicals in the course of their training to simulate a chemical attack in a war time situation. After repeated exposure, a resistance is built up so the “gas chamber,” as it is called, does not affect them as much. And it’s true that some people are just not as affected as others are. Other law enforcement personnel, martial artists, and yes, even determined criminals can fight through the effects of CS or CN chemical sprays.
Chemical Compounds that make up defensive sprays:
CS (Orthochlorobenzalmalonitrile)
CN (alphachloroacetaphenone)
OC (Oleoresin Capsicum)
Pepper Spray, on the other hand, has the effect of putting a brick wall in between the assailant and the sprayer. When someone gets a full blast of OC pepper spray, they stop what they are doing. They stop what they are thinking. Even people previously mentioned that could withstand the effects of tear gas, are very personally affected by OC pepper spray. This includes people that are drunk, on drugs, or psychotic.
Ok, so how do I decide which one to buy?
Once it became known that OC is superior to CN and CS, many brands became available with different concentrations, formulations, sizes, and spray patterns. Choosing the right spray is a critical decision if the spray ever has to be used in a self defense situation.
Defensive Sprays Considerations
Size and capacity: Sizes can range from a 1/2 ounce personal pepper spray up to 9 ounces for the bear pepper spray. Keychain sized defensive sprays or sizes easily carried on a belt or in a purse are ideal for most situations. Even the smallest units have enough in them to handle multiple attackers if done properly. The two main factors you want to look for are the range and the number of shots. A 6-8 foot range is plenty since that is where most personal assaults will take place. Most defensive sprays are also classified by number of one second bursts. A good 1-2 second burst will disable almost any assailant.
Spray Pattern: There are two basic types of defensive spray patterns, stream and mist. Stream patterns give good range but require aiming directly at the face. Cone mists have shorter range but you don’t have to aim as well. If there is a breeze, a stream is more controllable. Mists can be blown off target or even back to the sprayer. OC pepper spray works best when it hits the eyes and is inhaled. The mist is inhaled instantly while the stream might take longer for the person to breathe in the pepper spray. In all cases, it is critical to hit the attacker in the face!
What else should I know about purchasing defensive pepper sprays?
Aside from size and capacity, and spray pattern of pepper spray, the formulation can also be a consideration.
Formulation: OC comes in concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, or even higher. Bear pepper spray is rated at 20%. Because of different marketing that has evolved around these defensive sprays, the percentage is not always a good indicator of effectiveness. TBO-TECH Self Defense Products only carries the highest quality pepper sprays, including Mace brand, that have been proven to be most effective.
Other factors: Many pepper sprays come on keychains. This is a sound idea because since most people usually have their keys with them, they will also always have their pepper spray with them. But don’t forget about the times you don’t have your keys. The small investment in an extra pepper spray could actually save your life!
The best pepper spray in the world or the most extensive training will amount to nothing if you don’t do two things: Carry your pepper spray wherever you go and practice using it!

A correction is a beautiful thing, simply the flip side of a rally, big or small. Theoretically, even technically I’m told, corrections adjust equity prices to their actual value or “support levels”. In reality, it’s much easier than that. Prices go down because of speculator reactions to expectations of news, speculator reactions to actual news, and investor profit taking. The two former “becauses” are more potent than ever before because there is more “self directed” money out there than ever before. And therein lies the core of correctional beauty! Mutual Fund unit holders rarely take profits but often take losses. Opportunities abound!
Here’s a list of ten things to do and/or to think about doing during corrections of any magnitude:
1. Your present Asset Allocation should have been tuned in to your goals and objectives. Resist the urge to decrease your Equity allocation because you expect a further fall in stock prices. That would be an attempt to time the market, which is (rather obviously) impossible. Proper Asset Allocation has nothing to do with market expectations.
2. Take a look at the past. There has never been a correction that has not proven to be a buying opportunity, so start collecting a diverse group of high quality, dividend paying, NYSE companies as they move lower in price. I start shopping at 20% below the 52-week high water mark, and the shelves are full.
3. Don’t hoard that “smart cash” you accumulated during the last rally, and don’t look back and get yourself agitated because you might buy some issues too soon. There are no crystal balls, and no place for hindsight in an investment strategy.
4. Take a look at the future. Nope, you can’t tell when the rally will come or how long it will last. If you are buying quality equities now (as you certainly could be) you will be able to love the rally even more than you did the last time. as you take yet another round of profits. Smiles broaden with each new realized gain, especially when most folk are still head scratchin’.
5. As (or if) the correction continues, buy more slowly as opposed to more quickly, and establish new positions incompletely. Hope for a short and steep decline, but prepare for a long one. There’s more to Shop at The Gap than meets the eye.
6. Your understanding and use of the Smart Cash concept has proven the wisdom of The Investor’s Creed. You should be out of cash while the market is still correcting. [It gets less and less scary each time.] As long your cash flow continues unabated, the change in market value is merely a perceptual issue.
7. Note that your Working Capital is still growing, in spite of falling prices, and examine your holdings for opportunities to average down on cost per share or to increase yield (on fixed income securities). Examine both fundamentals and price, lean hard on your experience, and don’t force the issue.
8. Identify new buying opportunities using a consistent set of rules, rally or correction. That way you will always know which of the two you are dealing with in spite of what the Wall Street propaganda mill spits out. Focus on value stocks; it’s just easier, as well as being less risky, and better for your peace of mind. Just think where you would be today had you heeded this advice years ago.
9. Examine your portfolio’s performance: with your asset allocation and investment objectives clearly in focus; in terms of market and interest rate cycles as opposed to calendar Quarters (never do that) and Years; and only with the use of the Working Capital Model, because it allows for your personal asset allocation. Remember, there is really no single index number to use for comparison purposes with a properly designed value portfolio.
10. Finally, ask your broker/advisor why your portfolio has not yet surpassed the levels it boasted five years ago. If it has, say thank you and continue with what you’ve been doing. This one is like golf, if you claim a better score than the reality, you’ll eventually lose money.
11. One more thought to consider. So long as everything is down, there is nothing to worry about.
Corrections (of all types) will vary in depth and duration, and both characteristics are clearly visible only in institutional grade rear view mirrors. The short and deep ones are most lovable (kind of like men, I’m told); the long and slow ones are more difficult to deal with. Most corrections are “45s” (August and September, ’05), and difficult to take advantage of with Mutual Funds. But amid all of this uncertainty, there is one indisputable fact: there has never been a correction that has not succumbed to the next rally… its more popular flip side. So smile through the hum drum Everydays of the correction, you just might meet Peggy Sue tomorrow.

Autusurf program may be one of the easiest ways of making money online. You joining an autosurf program, you surf certain number of the website per day, and you get paid for that. Because the surfing is automatic, just like watching TV, so that make it different compare to the normal way of click the button to surf the net. Advertiser will put their advertisement just like the normal TV, but at a much cheaper rate. So in this case, both advertiser and consumer will be benefited.
How the consumer to earn the money through viewing the advertisement?
Let’s take the program called studiotraffic as an example, each people join the program has an account level, for example $10 start as a free member, and the pay out is 1% of the account level for a day’s autosurf. So if you autosurf for 1 day, studiotraffic will pay you $0.10, and autosurf 30 days for a month, you will earn $3 for that month. Member can choose to upgrade their account level up to $20,000, so they can earn maximum to $6,000 per month. Advertiser can customize the advertisement based on the different account level, the higher the account level, the more people will earn.
Autosurf industry is still in its early stage, most of the program are only a few month old, a lot of them are not very stable, so people join the program may encounter losing money when the program stop and people can not get back their money they put in. So choose the good program to join will make a big difference.
There are few areas which people should be careful about when choosing a good autosurf program:
How long the program has been in the market? This should be the longer the better.
How much is the payout rate? This is difficult to compare, but it should not be too high, because it will make the program too risky and not stable.
What is the member’s feedback? This is the most important factors people need to study. If the program has a forum, people can check the forum and see what the existing member say about the program.
What the people outside the program say about the program? Do some homework on the internet, and you can find out more about the program.
The most important thing is to start small, do not take loan or put in the money you can not afford to lose.
After all these research and study, people should join and try it. It may be the next big thing on the net. We don’t want to miss it.

Harvard and Stanford Universities have reported that 85% of the
reason a person gets a job and gets ahead in that job is due to
attitude; and only 15% is because of technical or specific
skills. Interesting, isn’t it? People spend how much money on
their education versus much money they spent on building their
positive attitudes. Ouch – that hurts to think about.
Now here is an interesting thought. With the `right’ attitude,
you can and will develop the necessary skills.
So where’s your emphasis? Skill building? Attitude building?
Unfortunately, `neither’ is the real answer for many people.
Perhaps if more people knew how simple it is to develop and
maintain a positive attitude they would invest more time doing
so. So, here we go. Five steps to staying positive in a
negative world.
1. Understand that failure is an event, and not a person.
Yesterday ended last night; today is a brand new day, and it is
yours. You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan
to win, prepare to win, and then you can expect to win.
2. Become a lifetime, or better yet a perpetual, student.
Learn just one new word every day and in five years you will be
able to talk with just about anybody about anything. When your
vocabulary improves, your I.Q. goes up 100% of the time,
according to Georgetown Medical School.
3. Read something informational or inspirational every day.
Reading for 20 minutes at just 240 words per minute will enable
you to read 20 200-page books each year. That is 18 more than
the average person reads! What an enormous competitive
advantage.if you will just read for 20 minutes a day.
4. Enroll in the `Transit University.’ The University of
Southern California reveals that you can acquire the equivalent
of two years of college education in three years. Just
listening to motivational and educational tapes and CDs on the
way to your job and again on the way home does this. What could
be easier? Sitting in a lecture hall for hours? I think not!
5. Start the day and end the day with positive input into
your mind. Inspirational messages cause the brain to flood with
dopamine and norepinephrine, the energizing neurotransmitters;
with endorphins, the endurance neurotransmitters; and with
serotonin, the feel-good-about-yourself neurotransmitter. Begin
and end the day by reading/listening to something positive.
Remember – Success is a process – not an event!
Invest the time in your attitude and it will pay off in your
skills as well as your career.

In order for any online business to succeed, you have to get your website before the web public. I would like to share with you some different avenues of getting your website into the cyberspace marketplace through different advertising methods.
1. E-mail is commonly used to advertise on the internet. But the big problem with e-mail advertising is spamming rules and regulations. To overcome this, you must always only send e-mail advertising to opt-in subscribers. You can do this by providing something free on your website that the consumer would give up their e-mail address in order to get the free offer. You then capture the e-mail address as an opt-in subscriber. You can also purchase opt-in leads through many different opt-in subscriber providers. Be sure to check out your lead company before purchasing, and make sure they are targeted to your specific online business. Lead companies are not always equal in the quality of leads they provide.
You also must provide an opt-out footer in your e-mail marketing campaigns. This enables the e-mail recipients to take themselves off your mailing list when they no longer wish to receive your e-mail. You also need an autoresponder to handle large mailing lists for your advertising campaigns. The autoresponder handles e-mail campaigns, and will send out your messages automatically to your e-mail lists by whatever interval you set to send them. Just load and set it up to do the work for you. Autoresponders are timesaving marketing tools for your online business.
2. Advertising with solo ad ezines is a great marketing tool. Your ad is placed by itself, that is, no other ads are included with your advertisement. There are several good advertising ezines on the web you can place your solo ads with. Just make sure to choose “solo ads,” since most offer other types of ads as well. An agency with 100,000 subscribers is a great place to run your solo ad. Some even have special priced packages.
3. Post a blog and write your own articles. When you post your blog and publish your own articles there, with your website URL attached to the author section, you can get your website picked up by search engines looking for free new content. When they choose yours, your website address is then picked up by the search engine, giving you another opportunity to get your website exposed to patrons of the web. Be sure to ping to let the spiders know where you are! If you feel you can’t write, hire a ghostwriter. You still get the benefit of getting your website recognized by search engines. You can post your blog free! Submit them to different article publishing ezines to get them published on the web. Free advertising!
4. Do local advertising in newspapers. Make flyers and distribute them in your neighborhood, on local business posting boards, and on university or school bulletin boards. Every day, give out business cards to people you come into contact with. Tell your friends about your website, and tell them to tell their friends. Word of mouth is a very effective way to advertise with people who already trust you.
5. Place an ad with Google Adwords. If you can afford to run an ad with Google, I highly recommend this avenue of advertising. You only pay when your ad is clicked, and you bid on the price you want to pay. It would be wise to educate yourself before advertising with Google Adwords by purchasing an educational book on using Google Adwords. What you don’t know can hurt your advertising budget.
By advertising through different avenues, you will build momentum, and with momentum, you build success. Online business success in not a race, it is a journey. Choose your online business wisely by choosing one with great leadership and support, and ongoing educational tools. Choose one with different streams of residual income, so you don’t have to depend solely upon one avenue of income. With residual income, you don’t have to do all the selling, just build a great team of sponsored members to help build your online business. With very consistent marketing strategies, a good reputable company to work with, and good educational tools, if you build it, they will come!

I am writing this today to remind you successful people that the human race is the only species that comes into this world in a natural state of discontent with that world. Look around – the other creatures you see about you are guided by instinct alone. We however have been given a God-like power to shape our life and thus our destiny. Moreover, this is just what we do each day of our lives, as we put into play actions & ideas that will determine the state and significance of our tomorrows.
For some, these ideas lead to extraordinary achievement. But for most, it leads to a middle ground where they mull around taking their life’s cues from those around them – not questioning why or how – nor considering the consequences of their actions be they good or bad. For still others, their actions & ides lead to recurring disappointment and problems. This leaves these folks to spend their days at the bottom of the socioeconomic PYRAMID.
You see the ignorant would have you believe achievement or failure is a matter of luck, or circumstances, or fate, or the breaks, or any of the old tiresome wife’s tales. Let that be the excuse for the ignorant I say. Success is simple matter of following a commonsense standard of rules or guidelines that anyone can follow.
I think we would all agree that we all want good results from our lives. Be it in our home life, our career or in our friendships – and the most important single factor to that success – the one factor that will guarantee good results day and day out is our attitude! And, I believe you have an attitude.
Attitude is defined as “a position or bearing as indicating action, feeling or mood.” I can think of no truer definition of attitude for it is your actions, feelings, and moods, which determine the actions, feelings, and moods of those around you
The world is a stage is what many say. Perhaps that is true – but I feel more strongly that the world is a mirror – often a cruel mirror that reflects back to us the actions, feels, and moods that we carry around. Our attitude tells the world what we expect of it. If our attitude is cheerful and hopeful, then, it conveys to all that we expect the best in our dealings with our world. If it is a skeptical, pessimistic one then we will convey that as well. Moreover, we will receive that in return because of two reasons:
1) Each of us tend to live up to the attitude you carry around
2) Others give us, as far as their attitudes are concerned, what we expect.
The good news is we can control our attitude. We can put in place the attitude of our choice each morning. Actually, we do so whether we are aware of it or not. Unfortunately, most do not look at their attitudes in this way. Thus, they start their day off in neutral, poised and ready to react to the first stimuli that they encounter. If the first stimulus is positive then their attitude follows suit. If it is negative then they mimic that instead. They are attitudinal chameleons. We as successful people have to prevent ourselves from becoming an attitudinal chameleon.
Here are three ways you can attain, and maintain, a healthy attitude (and avoid becoming an attitudinal chameleon):
1. Physiology
2. Focus
3. The Platinum Rule
1. PHYSIOLOGY – Try a little exercise with me. Stand up and breathe deeply inhaling and exhaling fully. Then look up at the ceiling and smile, smile like an idiot or a child on Christmas morning. Now while still breathing deeply, looking up and smiling – get mad – go on get angry! You cannot do it. If you maintain the body posture I described you will be unable to get angry. How you carry your body affects your attitude – have a seat. Now am I saying walk around with your head held high, breathing deeply and grinning like an idiot? Sure why not it is far more attractive then a frown backed by slumped shoulders! But, seriously, walking around with your head low, your face long with a frown, and your breathing shallow will negatively affect your attitude. That is how physiology influences your attitude; use it to your advantage.
2. FOCUS – During the course of your day your attitude can and will be impacted by the questions you ask yourself. If you ask the questions like “Why do I get the projects nobody wants?” Then your attitude will go downhill – quickly. If however you ask empowering questions, “How can I complete this project and enjoy the process?” Then your focus is changed and your attitude will be healthier for it. To avoid becoming an attitudinal chameleon what you need to do is develop some morning questions for yourself. A set of questions that will focus your mind on things YOU want to focus on. Some examples could be:
“What can I do today to build/strengthen my career?”
“What am I proud of in my life?”
“What am I confidant I can do?”
“What can I do for my spouse/child/significant other to let them
know I care?”
Develop your own set of morning questions and answer them each morning. This will do wonders for your attitude as well as raise your awareness to things around you that will lend themselves to aid you in completing your goals.
#3 THE PLATNIUM RULE
We all know the golden rule and are well served to apply it. However, a person that wants to maintain his healthy attitude at its peak and become a moniker of success will apply the platinum rule. The platinum rule states “Do unto others as THEY want done unto them.”
You see how you want to be treated is not specifically how everyone wants to be treated is it? If you go out with the servant’s attitude that your going to treat others in the manner THEY wish to be treated, then this will be reflected back to you – tenfold!
Remember – successful people come in all shapes and sizes, creeds, colors and backgrounds. However even in this diverse pool, they all have one thing in common – they expect more good out of life than bad. This positive expectation is reflected in their healthy attitude. So, in all the things you want, in all the goals you have set yourself upon, let your attitude reflect the fact that there are far more reasons why can have them, then not. Know there are far more reasons why you can reach your goals, then there are reasons to cause you to fail in the attempt.
Use your physiology, maintain your focus, and apply the platinum rule to attain and maintain your healthy attitude (and avoid becoming an attitudinal chameleon).
I believe you have an attitude!! However, is it the one you want?
Think Successfully & Take Action!

If you have read more than one of my articles, I’m sure you may have come away with the notion that I am big on goal setting. You would be correct in this assumption. I have done a number of presentations on this subject. During these presentations I have noticed that there are two overriding views on goal setting. The first, is of those that are either new to goal setting, or yet haven’t tried it. I have their full attention in the presentation when I get to setting and achieving your goals. The second overriding view is of those that tell themselves “Goal setting hah! I’ve tried that and it didn’t work for me.” In discussions with these folks I have found that the majority of them agree on the positive impacts that goal setting has. Most of them have even gone so far as list out their major goals, however that is where they stopped.
To be a goal setter, and more importantly a goal achiever, you not only have to have a written set of goals for you life (business and/or personal), but, you also have to have a written plan of action towards their achievement. In a recent Success Atlas article I noted that I have an article on goal setting. The many requests I received for that article has prompted this more in-depth look at goal setting and achievement. In other words, you asked for it you got it, Goal setting 101.
The goal setting process really starts with a self-evaluation of sorts. Sitting down and asking questions like, “What do I really want out of life?” “What do I want to accomplish, become, have be or do?” Open your mind and your heart. Sit down and fill out a desire journal. Fill it with all the dreams, aspirations and desires that lie in the recesses of who you are and who you want to become. Don’t hold back, write everything down! Dream like a child the evening before his/her birthday or the evening before Christmas. Dream like anything and everything is possible. Because unless it is legal, immoral, or unethical, I would highly encourage you to believe that it is possible.
Decide what it is you want in each area of your life: Personal, Family, Professional, Financial, Physical and Mental. Don’t be vague either, if what you want is money (financial) then define how much you want and by when. Specifics are necessary for you to have a plan. Being clear in what it is you want will cause about 80% of your success. You can not plan for the goal “I want more money.” You can, however, plan for the goal “I want to earn $250,000.00 annually by the end of 2003. The more specific your goals are the easier they are to build a plan for. If as your reading this you are thinking “I do not know what I want to be, do or have.” Then set a goal to find out.
Write down your goals. Don’t type them (not at first anyway) sit down and print them out, clearly, specifically and in measurable terms. This moves them from a desire, wish or intangible dream to an item on paper. Something you can see, touch, and relate to.
Okay now you know what you want – next you will need to identify what skills and knowledge you will require in order to accomplish your goal. Ask yourself what knowledge you need to gain in order to speed-up the successful accomplishment of you goal. Ask yourself what skill(s) you need to make the greatest positive impact on getting to your goal. There is always at least one skill or key piece of knowledge that is holding you back – otherwise you would already have accomplished the goal. Identify what it is and go out there and get it! If you are not able to figure it out for yourself then ask your spouse, your friends, your boss, a mentor, or any other person that you believe would know.
There are some things that you can do alone, however to achieve significant goals in your life you will need help. List all the people, groups and organizations that you will need to interact with to reach your goal. Write them all down then prioritize them. As you are going through this process consider the ways you can be of assistance to them. Everyone’s favorite radio station is WIIFM – What’s in it for me? So knowing in advance what you can do to assist them will payoff in faster results on getting their assistance in your goal achievement. Think through some win-win negotiations. Remember the more you give the more you get. As Zig Ziglar reminds us “You can have everything you want if you just help enough others get what they want.” As well as those that can help you, I would also suggest listing out those that could hinder your progress as well. Forewarned is forearmed.
Obstacles – we have all encountered them, and we will continue to encounter them during our attempt to reach any goal of worth. If there were no obstacles along the way everyone would have already accomplished all of their goals – you included. List all the obstacles, barriers and impediments to your goal. Why are you not at your goal already? Write down each and every answer to that question. This will allow you to find the bottleneck to your success. Once you are aware of what is holding you back, apply all your resources (which you listed out already) towards the removing or overcoming of this blockage. More often than not, the removal of a single primary blockage will uproot and resolve many other smaller barriers to your goal. This can help you make quantum leaps towards reaching that goal.
Now that you have this valuable collection of information you need to map out a plan to utilize it and accomplish your goal. Successful business men do not set out on a course of action without a plan, you wouldn’t go on vacation without some planning and most do not even get married with out hours and hours (one hundred or more at times) of planning. These days far too many spend one hundred hours, or more, planning the wedding. Yet, they spend no time at all planning their marriage or their life. You can change that in your life. Lay out the key points you have put together thus far and develop a plan of attack. This plan can start with the steps to gain the knowledge and skills you need to gain. Steps to get you in contact with the people and organizations you need to help you along your road to success. Lay out all the steps you know you need to take to reach your goal. Organize then by priority, then sequence them. As you go through this process you will be motivated to take actions against the first step on your plan. Completing the first step will further motivate you to take action on the next step and so on.
Now that you have a plan you need to set a deadline. A goal is a dream with an achieve-by date. Setting a deadline develops and intensifies your desire to attain your goals. Don’t scare yourself with large goals or underestimate how long it will take to accomplish them. Instead break down large goals into small milestones with deadlines. These milestones will act like a forcing system for you unconscious mind. They will motivate and drive you towards your goal. Having deadlines for your goals will keep them on your mind. Making you more conscious to the situations and people in your life that can aid you on your road to success. Set your deadlines as realistically as possible. Do not over or under estimate them be honest with yourself. You could always reset deadlines. The key point I want to drive home here is that you MUST have a deadline to shoot for.
You have the plan – now what? As I mentioned early in this article most people agree on the positive impacts that goal setting have. Most of them have even gone so far as listing out their major goals, however that is where they stopped. Here is where you are going to act differently and succeed in your goal achievement. The key word here is ACT. Take action on your plan! Do not procrastinate! The clock is ticking and your deadline is inching closer with each passing second. Do something each and everyday towards the accomplishment of your goals. Work with all your gusto on the first step of your plan until it is either completed or until you can make no further progress on it. Then move to the next step, coming back to those incomplete previous steps as soon as you can move them forward to their completion. Keep moving, keep working and keep taking your action steps every day, do not stop. Anyone that has ever had to push a car will tell you the hardest part is getting it moving. Once your moving it will still take effort, but it takes far less effort than if you stop pushing and have to start moving all over again. Taking consistent daily action will not only move you quickly towards your goal but it will reinforce in your subconscious mind that you can and will attain your goal. Giving you a positive attitude towards it.
Two additional things you can do you that will steel your resolve to accomplish your goals are to visualize your goal and resolve to never give up. Visualize your goal continually or as often as possible during every waking moment. Your subconscious mind does not differentiate between your visualization and reality. So visualize your goal as already attained. View it in you mind’s eye with every detail possible. Feel the pride, joy and fulfillment that will come with reaching a significant goal. Visualization will also make you aware of those situations and resources in your life that you will need to reach your goal. Finally resolve to never give up in your quest to reach your goal. Attack it with a dogged determination. Let the words of the Capcom commander in Apollo 13 ring in your ears; “Failure is not an option!” When you encounter barriers and obstacles do not ask yourself what will happen if or when I fail. Instead think positive, then develop a plan action. Ask yourself “How can I get over, around or though this barrier and reach my goal!”
Everyone has goals, I have them you have them even a child has goals. These goals can be keeping your job, getting a promotion, and the child has a goal of passing a test, getting that much desired toy they saw on television or showing mommy and daddy how much they are loved. The difference between these goals and the goals of the top achievers is focus. Peak achievers go through processes similar to the one I have laid out here to focus their actions on what they want to be, have or do. They design their goals with a mission and this mission is success. Follow this process and you too can rise to the levels of those you have watched in awe.

Letting yourself reach the point where you are burnt out, worn
down and used up is a threat to your dreams, goals and your
life’s happiness. The physical manifestation of burnout, or an
overload of stress, is your body’s natural response to the
pressures you are placed under and that place it under during
the course of your day. Worse yet when you place yourself in a
stressful situation in your mind through worry and fret, your
body reacts as if physically placed in that situation. Your
body’s natural defenses go into action.
Perhaps you are stressed and anxious about an upcoming
interview, big presentation or sales meeting. But your body’s
natural defenses are reacting as if a gang of thugs cornered you
in a dark alley. Your heart quickens, you become sweaty, and
your thoughts are broken and scattered. Too much stress can
actually wear you down, as your body fights to keep up this
level of defense. You can easily see how this will negatively
impact your effectiveness towards accomplishing your goals.
But at the root level the cause of the stress is more the issue
than the stress itself. This root cause is what really can
generate a sense of hopelessness, a reduction in productivity,
bear a heavy weight on relationships, shatter dreams, and in
some cases even result in chemical dependency.
However, you can learn to response to your stress and anxiety in
a manner that will avoid these horror stories and stop the
disaster before it destroys your road to success.
Signs that your stress is reaching the danger zone:
Bored (not just when there is nothing to do)
Do not feel appreciated/loved/cared for
Overly Tense
Aggravated/Frustrated
Short Fuse – quick to get angry
Frequently/Constantly tired or exhausted
Hate getting up in the morning (often don’t)
Frequently being late to work, meetings, etc.
Skipping work
Frequently ill
Frequently Forgetting things (tasks, items, date etc.)
Resist change
Procrastinates
Feeling hopeless (no light at the end of the tunnel)
Alcohol or drug consumption increasing
Having trouble with a number of these signs? Well then you
could be doing battle with burnout. Burnout is a slow burn and
can come upon you so leisurely that you do not even realize it.
Listen to your body (and your friends). Knowing is step one to
winning the burnout battle.
This topic does not go over well with some. Often it goes over
the least with the determined, go-getters of the world. They
say, “Bah, I’m just doing what I do best. Getting ahead,
getting things done. Sure I burn the mid-night oil but that’s
how I get ahead.” These highly motivated and un-wavering people
are at the highest level of risk. They become inundated with
their high expectations of themselves and their enthusiasm to
achieve their dreams.
If you are passionate about being a success. If you feel the
need to be in control all the time. And if you frequently over
commit yourself with tasks and responsibilities, then you too
are at risk of becoming a contender in the burnout battle.
Attitude and a positive viewpoint of your life will positively
influence your vulnerability. As I said earlier, it is your
attitude toward a demand or pressure rather than the actual
demand or pressure that causes the stress. Learn to manage your
stress. Now this sometimes means making the tough decisions.
Remembering to take care of yourself, both mentally and
physically. Accepting responsibility for your well being and
making positive life choices. Take the time to list the things
that are causing you undo stress (the root causes. List them all
- even the ones that you enjoy but still result in stress. Once
you complete the list, break it into two categories; conditions
you can change and conditions you cannot change.
Sit down and work out a plan to resolve the stressful conditions
that you can change. Then work the plan. Remember, coming up
with the plan alone won’t do it. You have to work the plan and
remove the stress from your life and from you list.
As for the conditions that you are unable to change. Look at
better ways to react to them. The conditions themselves aren’t
causing the stress; your attitude/reaction to the conditions is
causing the stress. Some of the material I have shared with you
in the past (last issue on Attitude for example) can prepare you
to better react to these conditions positively. You can’t stop
these waves of stress, so learn to surf them.

Where you are today is a direct result of the actions you have
taken in your past. The degree of happiness and success you
enjoy today is the fruits of your past labor. If you are not
where you want to be today – then you need take action – daily
and consistent action to be specific.
The level of success and happiness we all achieve is the direct
result of our consistent actions. Not those actions we take
every now and then. Like those actions we take towards our New
Year’s resolution that usually die out by this time of year. No
our success is in fact the result of our habits (consistent
actions). For those habits are the rudders that steer our
course of success in live. Suffice to say we all need to
develop good habits if we are looking to reach our goal of
success.
Unfortunately for most of us our habits are not a result of
logical decision-making and conscious thought. Generally the
habits we have are the reactions to our experiences (stimuli).
If we have had a heavy dosage of negative experiences, then we
will tend to produce negative reactions. What do you think
you’ll get from those consistent negative reactions? That is
right – bad habits.
A powerful tool at your disposal to help you take control of
your habits is your level of motivation. If you are motivated
and are driven – then your unstoppable desire for success will
outstrip your fear of failure. A motivated person is far more
willing to step outside their comfort zone and take that all-
important life changing chance. They become more, they do more,
and thus they have more.
If you are looking to build your level of motivation here are
some steps that will serve you well.
1 – Set your Goals
Know what you want! Goals give your life purpose. Your desire
to reach these goals will become a great motivator in your life.
Big goals, little goals, personal, professional, financial and
spiritual goals – write them all down. Long term and short term
- write them down in clear and specific terms. Then set to work
on them.
2 – DAILY Action
Once you set your goals. Put in place a plan that requires you
to execute at least on step each day. No matter how small or
how big. A phone call, some reading, a contact, a letter,
whatever just do something everyday. Each of these steps will
bring you closer to your goal – and motivate you to higher
achievements. Remember a habit is nothing more that a repeated
behavior. Taking daily actions will form your successful habit
so strongly that eventually you will be taking action without
conscious thought. It will just be who you are – a successful
and motivated person.
3 – Feel it!
We are not creatures of pure logic – we are emotional creatures.
While our minds will work out the most successful business plan
ever conceived. It is our emotion, our desire, which moves us
to execute the plan. Connect all the good feelings you have to
your action. Every time you succeed, small or large, at one of
your action steps, know and feel that you are now one step
closer to your goal. These repeated connections shall reinforce
your emotional drive to achieve your goals. Another good
technique is to sit down and list all the reasons why you want
to or must reach this goal – all positive reasons. Then do the
flip side, list all the things you will miss out on, be forced
into or dislike about your life, yourself etc. if you do not
achieve your goal. Now your using both of the two primary
emotions you have, desire & fear, to your advantage
4 – Take Responsibility!
Don’t give yourself an out. Stop blaming your parents, your
childhood, your kids, your wife, the economy, your boss, your
dog, your postman or any other thing/person in your life. It is
in fact YOUR life. Don’t say if I could I would, say I can and
I will. You may have many reasons why, but only you can change
them, so take responsibility. Step up and remember the words of
Oprah Winfrey “My philosophy is that not only are you
responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment
puts you in the best place for the next moment.”
Think Successfully & Take Action!

Jewelry the dominator of many moods, how a piece of body decoration can change and alter a persons image is remarkable? Take the birth stone a coloured precious jewel representing the month you were born hence birth signs horoscopes etc. Then we have the pendant locket encompassing a photo of a loved one parted or present.
100% top of the list for popularity has to be the ring.
Many organizations symbolize memberships and identities of their followers with the wearing of a ring. But the most famous piece of warm gold or cool silver is the wedding band with the eternity and engagement ring trailing behind. Why you ask? Do these lag behind; they both represent friendship and togetherness, unlike the gold wedding band which goes further in bonding two people together for ever.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and that of the man also. The male takes fashion and Jewelry just as serious as the female species and why would they not.
How a pair of pearl peepers placed onto the lobe of the ear can transform that figure hugging little black number. Glimpse how the bronze medallion swinging between an open neck shirt can transform the appearance of the male.
When buying Jewelry remember, wrong choice wrong image wrong you so be careful and take your time when deciding on what to purchase.
Most heirlooms today come in the form of Jewelry, grandmothers cameo brooch, grandads cuff links mum or dads wedding ring. Jewelry will always hold fond memories for a great many of us and it’s funny how you never forget where that particular piece came from.
So if you want to be remembered give a piece of Jewelry
Then we have the not so sweet memories when the glitter turns to bitter (Divorce)
Bling Bling clusters of sparkling precious stones assist and help elegance to protrude through especially when mounted on a 9ct gold band.
Mans signet ring can alter the image of the male hand expressing masculinity
The male/female is only half dressed unless adorned with jewellery. Next time when shopping in a Jewelry store do not go over the top like Mr T from the A team. Too many accessories will spoil the whole look of any outfit thus marring your whole image.
If you are out to attract the opposite sex or keep the companion you have then it is all about beauty. Remember beauty lies in the eye of the beholder so let the beholder be you when looking for gold or silver.
Jewelry speaks in volumes about you and your personality so we do not want to give the wrong impression. Let the diamonds emeralds sapphires and rubies do all the talking. People will get to know you with out you even opening your mouth.

To become a successful Internet marketer, it is useful to examine successful Internet business models and then see where you can fit in. It definitely beats trying to re-invent the wheel or coming up with a totally new untried and untested business model.
For starters chances of success are much higher when you go with a business model that has been a proven success again and again.
Affiliate Marketing Business Model
So far there is little doubt that this has been by far the most successful Internet business model. There are some huge advantages of being in a position where you can refer others to a service or product, which is exactly what an affiliate does. Prospects are more confident of the offering because the person referring them is actually putting their reputation on the line by recommending the website or product that they are an affiliate to. Affiliate programs started off with Amazon.com and today are the most effective marketing method to build up traffic to a website.
Affiliate Marketing has grown into very big business because of the amounts being earned by many successful affiliates. Some of them earn as much as a hundred thousand dollars or more in a single month. This is the most attractive model for anybody planning to invest in an Internet business because it also gives a person the best chance to learn the ropes.
The really successful affiliates usually get their own domains and websites as this is the most efficient way of marketing anything online.
Selling Information Products
This is another very successful Internet marketing business model. The huge attraction of this kind of business is it is very easy to distribute information online. Then there is the fact that there is a huge demand for information online. In fact the term infopreneur instead of entrepreneur is being widely used online these days. The idea here is to create a special report or ebook on a subject that you are very familiar with and then market and sell the information online.
All indications are that the true potential of this business is yet to be seen.
So these are the two models of two leading Internet marketing businesses that have produced numerous success stories online. Thus if you are looking for online success you can start by focusing on one of these two areas. Then your chances of succeeding will be much higher.

You’ll never hear the end of it if you decide to press charges. And besides you’re not even sure you really want to do that. They might pay you back the money. Not. The burden is on you to sort this mess out and the worst part is once a relative or friend steals your identity, it’s almost impossible to trust them again.
We hear about the high profile cases of hackers breaking into the databases of Lexis Nexus or DSW Shoe warehouse, yet most instances of identity theft never make the news. Usually it’s something basic like a neighbor stealing a credit card application from your mailbox or a relative going thru your personal belongings
In the Better Business Bureau’s 2005 Fraud Survey report they found relatives, close friends and neighbors make up 50 percent of all identity thieves. They also cost you more time and money trying to fix the problem. Javelin Research calculates that the average cost to identity theft victims is $15,607 when the perpetrator is known.
But even that figure is misleading. Many children are falling victim to identity theft (a half million last year according to the Federal Trade Commission) which means the full impact of the damage may not be known until years later when as adults they apply for credit.
For some parents, stealing their child’s identity is a stop gap solution. Their own credit is destroyed, so “borrowing” their child’s social security number becomes a necessity. All the while, they assure themselves the money will be paid back. Yet the same pattern that destroyed the parent’s credit, now puts a negative on the child.
It doesn’t matter if the thief is a parent, sibling or best friend, the process of recovering your identity is a tough one and it gets more complicated. Should you report the crime?
“Frequently when we would break up a ring and get a list of victims and find family members were involved in the crime, relatives are very reluctant to co-operate” says Ken Hunter, former Chief Postal Inspector and current president of the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
According to a study done by Gartner, Inc., the chances of an identity thief getting prosecuted are 1 in 700. However, when a relative is the culprit those odds go through the roof. The attitude understandably becomes, “Yes, they did me wrong but I can’t send them to jail.”
Ken Hunter: “If it’s a matter of pilferage at a very low level, nothing much is really going to happen to that person.”
On the other hand, if your identity is used to commit crimes on a higher scale, by all means report it to the authorities. You may feel guilty and make a lot of people angry in the process. Families get torn apart because relatives feel the matter should stay private.
It’s a tough decision, but remember, this is your good name the identity thief destroyed, not your relatives and it’s you who may be wanted for a crime, not them.
bio = Daryl Campbell is a writer and home business owner. In minutes, a thief can steal your identity. Within a few hours, they can destroy your good name. It can take years to recover. Could it can happen to you? Watch this movie => http://digbig.com/4dwsx

It’s a fact, Page Not Found, known as a 404 error, can harm your website Ranking with Search Engines as well as being a Turn-Off for Visitors.
A search engine that repeatedly gets a 404 error will de-list the page from its index. Too many 404 error pages on your website and its ranking with the search engines will suffer.
Visitors are always just one click away from clicking to another search and another website. Present them with a page not found 404 error and these days they’ll not stick around long enough to search for your missing page.
How Many 404 Error Pages Do You Have Right Now on Your Website ?
Unless you check your web stat error logs regularly you’ll never know just how many 404 error pages your site has. Even if you don’t have a single 404 error right now, I can absolutely guarantee you’ll get them.
How Can I Avoid 404 Error Pages ?
The simple answer is you can’t, a 404 error can not be avoided.
They happen when you rename a page.
They happen if you delete a page.
They happen if you change the page file extension i.e. htm to html or php.
They happen if you move a page to another location.
They happen if other sites link to pages which don’t exist.
They happen if visitors have bookmarked pages that no longer exist.
They happen if visitors mistype a URL.
How is a 301 Redirect Helpful ?
A 301 redirect enable you to send you visitor or the search engine to any replacement page you specify. A 301 redirect is also important because it’s what’s known as a permanent redirect. A permanent redirect is the one preferred by search engines so they are the only ones you should use if you want your website to be search engine friendly.
How Do I Setup a 301 Redirect ?
Basically there are two ways to setup a search engine friendly redirect. One is by directly modifying what’s known as the .htaccess file found in the root directory of your website where your web pages are stored.
The second way is to use a software redirect script. The advantage of using a redirect script is that you can setup and maintain any number of 301 redirect ‘s through a control panel.
You can also do very clever and helpful things that will make your website even more friendly to visitors and the search engines, but more of that in the 2nd Part of this article.
Setting Up a 301 Redirect Manually
First let’s deal with modifying the .htaccess file to setup a redirect manually just so you know what’s required. Then I’ll tell you a much simpler way to do this and a whole lot more.
First you must find the .htaccess file on your web server. There could be more than one, but you need to locate the one in the same directory as your web pages.
On some web hosts the .htaccess file is hidden, it’s there but you just can’t see it listed when you FTP to your host. On most web servers it’s visible, so I’m only going to deal with the visible file. Download the .htaccess file as ASCII not Binary to your PC then open it with a text editor like Notepad or Textpad, not Word.
In the .htaccess file, type the following line but substituting your locations for the missing and replacement files shown in [ ] brackets, excluding the brackets.
Redirect 301 [relative URL of missing file] [complete URL of replacement file ]
For example:
Redirect 301 /directory/discover.html http://yourdomain.com/adventure.html
For every other redirect required you must add a new line of code to the .htaccess file then FTP to upload it as an ASCII file back to the same location you downloaded it from.
If all this sounds quite complicated, you’d be right, it can be, but life gets a whole lot easier in the 2nd part of this article Setting Up a 301 Redirect with Redirect Script Software.

Hair Removal For A Man may sound very odd. I mean we always picture men with beard and moustache and hairy bodies. Not any more! The smooth, shiny and clean man is the new fashion icon. You will never find a ‘hairy’ body builder nor will you ever see the man in the underwear advertisement as anything but clean and smooth. Hair Removal For A Man! Yes, it’s here to stay.
Health, fitness and bodybuilding have primarily remained the top three concerns of any man trying to look good. With ‘smooth skin’ being added to this list, Hair Removal For A Man is something no body conscious male can ignore. So, welcome to the world of wax, depilatory creams and sugar pastes.
Hair Removal For A Man could include all the options that a woman normally has. He could wax, (well, you can already see that face twitch with pain), or sugar (Oh! dear! That pains too!) Or shave (at least that is something they are familiar with). And if you are really required to look smooth all the time, go for electrolysis or a laser treatment.
Waxing may not be the ideal method of Hair Removal For A Man. Applying a sticky messy solution on those hairy legs and pulling them away with strips of clothes in the direction opposite to that of your hair growth definitely sounds painful. More so when you think of the large amount of hair men have on their bodies. Lets check out the other options of Hair Removal For A Man.
Sugaring is very similar to waxing and can be considered only for men of the tolerating kind. Here the only difference is that instead of wax, one uses a sugar paste (I guess, men had rather eat them!). Shaving is a good option of Hair Removal For A Man. However, it would only make them pokier as lovers with all that stubble and rough skin. We can narrow down Hair Removal For A Man to Lasers and Electrolysis.
If you are man enough and are not scared of needles, go for Electrolysis. They may be the ideal answer to Hair Removal For Man. Electrolysis involves destroying the hair follicles when they are at the peak of their growing cycle. That sounds more exciting, doesn’t it? But wait till you listen to how one does it? Well, they will pierce needles into your hair follicles and sent electric currents right to the root of your problem. Of course, in the process a non-sterile needle could give you AIDS or you could get yourself electrocuted if your technician is a novice.
The last option of Hair Removal For A Man is the Laser. Similar to electrolysis, laser treatment uses laser beams instead of electricity to pulse through your skin and kill those follicles. They are cheaper than Electrolysis. Permanent options are better for Hair Removal For A Man though they are expensive and time consuming. But if you are looking for short-term answers, go for the regular creams, wax and razors.

There’s nothing like coloring your hair to make you feel and look new. A new hair color can do wonders to your confidence level, though not always. Sometimes, it can spell disaster. A color might look really good on the packet cover, but once you’ve used it the reactions might vary from “oh my God” to major depression. So, if you fall into this category, then we can suggest you some solutions to remove hair color.
Okay, so somehow the hair color you have been dreaming about went wrong. It may be too bright, too dark, or simply is not the color you wanted. And, laying the blame on the colorist’s door or the product company will not help. What you need is damage control-you need to remove hair color.
However, this is easier said than done. Hair color is not like furniture paint that can easily be removed with paint remover. One option to remove hair color is to go to a color correction specialist. The only way to remove hair color is with a color removal product. But only professionals should use products designed to remove hair color. These products are not recommended for consumers unless they know exactly what they’re doing.
But what you can do on your own to remove hair color is to cover up. And depending on the color you selected, you may be able to cover the permanent color with a semi or demi-color. But before you decide to re-color your hair with another color, seek the advice of the color manufacturer, because mixing colors can result in bigger disasters than before.
If the hair color used was a light to medium shade, you may be able to cover it with a semi-permanent hair color after a few days. If you used a very dark shade, then it’s very difficult to remove hair color and you might as well live with it. Dark hair colors are hard to correct because the pigments in the dye are very strong. If your hair has been colored a shade of green, you could try a chlorine removal shampoo, or, if all else fails, tomato juice soak.
Mistakes do happen, but learn from the mistakes and take care not to repeat them. And before you set out to repair the damage, call the manufacturer of the product first. They’ll be able to suggest you ways to remove hair color. Still, if you’re unable to correct the problem, remember it’s just hair. The color will eventually grow out or fade on its own.
You can also make the best of the situation by visiting a stylist and getting a new flattering hairstyle that’ll draw attention away from the ghastly color. You can also use this time to accessorize your hair and try out different styles. Anything that’ll draw the attention from the hair color should help. Also, remember to use hair-coloring products that are safe, because a head full of orange hair is better than a head without hair.

If you are like me and you tend to do a lot of long distance traveling then you will often come up against the decision to either fly or to drive to get where you are going. If you find yourself struggling with making that decision then here are some things that you can keep in mind.
1. You should count the costs. There are costs involved with everything and that always will play a part in the decision making process. I know that for me I am flying from my Florida home to the Washington DC area in 2 weeks. I was considering driving, but it is over 1100 miles one way. This will cost me about $120 in gas for each leg of the trip plus two nights stay in a hotel. I found some tickets online last night and it is under $150 for a round trip flight. I can fly there and rent a car for much less than it costs me to drive and I don’t have the wear and tear on my vehicle.
2. Know your mission – Sometimes cost is not the only feature that you look at. I know that when my wife traveled with me that we often like to take our time and stop at different places along the way. That way we get to spend some alone time together and to see and explore places that we may never have stayed. So if you have the time and feel a bit leisurely on this trip then consider doing it like that.
3. Arrive Alive – Sometimes I’m just plain nervous about driving all that way. Sure I know the rules that keep me safe while on a road trip but statistically it is much safer to fly rather than drive. So sometimes that is the deciding factor, do I really feel like making a long drive?
Keeping these few things in mind when making your decision to drive or fly to your destination may help you to make that decision. Whichever way you choose make sure that enjoy the trip that is in front of you.

So you are ready to go on a family vacation, at least that is what you think. Now I’m not talking about the little romantic getaway with your significant other, I’m talking about the full fledged family outing that includes some extended family that you aren’t usually around. This can be an extremely enjoyable time for most of us but sometimes tension runs a bit high and personalities clash, so what is it that can help you to survive the rough spots on a family vacation?
1. Have some Me Time – Sure it’s great to get away with people that you love, but sometimes you just need some time to yourself. When you find yourself in this situation then you need to have an escape route in place, one that will make it easy for you to get away from the potentially volatile situation from which you are trying to escape. Perhaps you could always keep a deficit of some sort in place and then offer to go fill that void when the time is right. I like to do this with things that are readily available, especially since we don’t really need it, it’s just convenient for you to go get it.
2. Sleep, the ultimate mediator – When you sense that tensions might be running a bit high, or perhaps you have some personalities clashing then it may be time for you to take a little nap. You will probably find that after your nap whatever it was that was bothering you will be a thing of the long past.
3. Subject Swappers – You should always be ready to switch subjects to something that they like. If you feel as if the conversation is going badly then try to get them to talk a bit about a hobby that they enjoy or perhaps something that is going on in their lives. This will generally help to take off the pressure.
By doing these few things you will be better able to successfully go through a family vacation unscathed. Most of all enjoy the time that you have with your family and try not to be overly concerned if things are not always going your way.

It was a crisp Pennsylvania morning as we stepped out of the car, eager to take on the hike that lay before us. The leaves were turning bright colors of yellow and orange and as I exhaled my breath hung in the air in a cloud that swirled and quickly disappeared. There was a faint rustling in the leaves nearby as some forest creature moved to get out of our sight and I knew that this was going to be the perfect day. This was the kind of day that only a hike on the Appalachian Trail can bring.
As we started out on the hike, our legs fresh and our breathing shallow we took the time to look around, noticing the signs of autumn and looking for traces of elusive wildlife. After just a few minutes into the hike we started on an incline and took our breathing to a higher pace. The hike began to get a little more strenuous and we soon found ourselves wanting to steady our legs with the help of some walking sticks. After finding an appropriate stick we were back off again and heading up toward our first stop, an outcrop of rocks known as bear rock that overlooked the reservoir of a small town named Waynesboro.
Halfway up the mountains the silence was shattered as a deer exploded from the underbrush, throwing up it’s tail to show us it’s white flag and hurrying off in leaps and bounds to get away from us. It was a welcome stop for us and a hint of nature that not many people really get to enjoy. As we started off again we felt a bit refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of the uphill climb. Soon we saw the evidence that the rocks were just ahead and the trail leveled off, so we left the trail and headed for Bear Rock.
As we climbed onto the first boulder the valley opened up in front of us in all it’s glory. Red and Yellow and Orange colors painted the landscape for as far as we could see and lying in the middle of it, like a blue-grey gem was the reservoir. It was a great sight to behold and we stayed for over an hour looking across the creation and watching the birds as the soared on the mountain air currents. Then we headed back to the car, thankful that it was a downhill walk and feeling quite refreshed and ready for another day.

If you are interested in collecting coins, it’s important to be able to have a rough idea of how much coins are worth. Knowing how coin values are determined will enable you to find good deals, and ensure that you don’t get cheated into paying too much money for a coin with a low worth.
Supply Influences Coin Values One major factor in determining coin values is the law of supply and demand. If there are many coins of a particular type available, that coin will not be worth much. On the other hand, if only a very few coins of that type are produced, the coin values will rise. This is why a completely normal-looking copper penny minted in 1943 is worth about $200,000, whereas a 2,000 year old Roman coin may be worth less than $100 – because thousands upon thousands of Roman coins were minted, but only 40 pennies produced during war-time 1943 were made out of copper.
Demand’s Effect on Coin Values Even among coins with a similar number of copies in existence, some have a higher worth than others. This is because some coins are in higher demand, driving up the coin values. Coins may become popular because they are particularly lovely to look at, because they are part of a topical set that is often chosen by collectors, or because they have a certain historical significance.
Precious Metals and Coin Values Some coins are made out of precious materials like gold bullion or platinum. These coin values are less volatile because the worth is guaranteed in part by the material. A gold bullion coin, for example, is usually worth more than its melted weight, but it is never going to be worth less.
Coin Values are Tempered by Grade or Classification The final major factor in determining coin values is the grade or classification of the coin. The more wear and tear that a coin has undergone, the less value it is going to have. This is why uncirculated coins are usually more valuable than coins that have been passed from hand to hand. Uncirculated coins have always been kept in the very best of conditions, making their value much higher. A coin in flawless condition may be worth hundreds of times more than a low-grade version of the exact same coin.
Now that you understand the basic factors that influence coin values, you have a better grasp of which coins may have real value and which will be worthless. In order to get a ballpark estimate of the value of any coins you might have, you will first need to determine its grade or classification. You can do this by comparing your coin’s condition to a published list of guidelines. Then look up the value of a coin in that condition in a book such as “The Standard Catalog of World Coins,” which should be available in most public libraries. If you need to know the exact amount that your coin is worth, you should take it to a coin dealer and let him or her evaluate it for you.

A website should give you new ways of marketing and selling your products and building relationships with your customers. But when I do a search for just about anything online I see a lot of web sites that are totally ineffective.
It seems that a lot of people forget that they are only one among tens of hundreds of thousands of the same type of businesses. In order to compete you have to stand out. But it seems that the only standing out a lot of these companies do is in all the things you should not do.
You web site should be powerful, emotional and should show the reader that his or her life would be more complete – better, easier, more productive, more profitable and happier – if they owned what it is you’re selling.
Your design needs to move the reader while your content grabs them, working together they should build confidence in both your business and products. You have two seconds to tell your visitor what you sell and what’s in it for them. If that aligns with what they want, they’ll spend more time on your site and that should lead to more sells.
It’s never about money
People buy for emotional reasons and justify it after the sell with logic. If your site builds enough confidence in your product or service then your reader will buy from you regardless of price.
How Not Too Make An Ugly Website
I thought the best thing to do was look around the web a name a couple things that a lot of people do that they should not. Maybe this will help others not make the same mistakes.
1. Never Ever have a “under Construction” on a website. All website are under construction all the time.
2. Stay with one style of font. I know there are a lot of styles that are really cool but the site will look a lot better if you only use one.
3. Use 2 font colours and no more. Again there are some really cool colours but trying to use them all does not help anyone.
4. Scrolling text. If someone is trying to read the text on your site and something keeps moving around in the corner of there eye it really makes it tough to stay focused.
5. Don’t use pop-up Windows. No one likes them and most people see them as unwanted ads, and close them without looking at them. That’s if they don’t already have some type of pop-up blocker installed.
6. Flash introduction. Everyone already knows that this does not work. It has been tested and users hate them. So do not use them.
7. Opening New Browser Windows. I hate when I finish looking at a site and find I have to close 20 windows. Do not open new windows.
These are only a couple things that make up a really bad designed website. The list could go on and on but I wanted to point out a couple.
Let’s work together and make the web better for everyone.
