Gold coins are a favorite of coin collectors with an eye toward investment. Not only are golden coins lovely to behold, but they also have a value that is guaranteed, due to their precious metal content. The value of gold coins is usually higher than the value of their weight in gold bullion, making them a better investment than the gold market alone.
Many countries produce gold coins for collectors or for commemorative purposes. These coins oftentimes emphasize unique aspects of the country’s culture. Australia reveres its national animal with the Gold Kangaroo, for example, while China has a Gold Panda with a lovely design that changes every year. Canada’s coin features a powerful national symbol with the golden Maple Leaf, and South Africa mints the Krugerrand. One of the world’s best selling coins, the Krugerrand features the South African national animal, the Springbok. Taking its place as one of the most popular gold coins among investors and collectors, however, is the American Gold Eagle. The American Gold Eagle stands out among other bullion coins because of its lovely design, and because its value is backed by the full strength of the United States government.
The Beauty of American Eagle Gold Coins:
The Gold Eagle features a representation of Lady Liberty striding with torch in hand through a field of light rays on its front side. This image is inspired by a golden coin designed by Augustus Saint-Gauden and minted from 1907 to 1933. The Augustus Saint-Gauden Double Eagle is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful coins America has ever produced. On the flip side of the American Eagle gold coins is a nest full of bald eagles, the national bird of the United States. The nest represents the American dedication to unity and family. Furthermore, a special die is used when minting these coins, to bring the gold to an especially high shine and to make it easier to see small details in the design.
American Eagle Gold Coins have Guaranteed Value:
American Eagle gold coins are valuable not only for their lovely appearance, but also because they are the only bullion coin whose gold content is guaranteed by the United States government. Each American Gold Eagle is stamped with its exact gold weight, as well as its face value. They are minted from 22-karat gold, which by law must be pure gold bullion mined from within the United States. This guarantee of the authenticity of the precious metals used to make American Eagle gold coins is highly valuable to investors.
Buying American Eagle Gold Coins:
Golden American Eagles were first produced in 1985 and come in a variety of sizes and values, ranging from the 1/10th oz American Eagle coin with a face value of $5, all the way up to full ounce gold coins with a face value of $50. Remember that most gold coins are worth more than their legal tender amount. Although they re not available for purchase directly from the U.S. Mint, American Eagle can be commonly found for sale in coin shops, on the internet, by gold dealers, and at coin shows. There are also variations on the American Eagle that are minted from silver or platinum instead of gold.

COM is an acronym for Component Object Model. This is a software architecture developed by Microsoft Corporation and is used to define a certain structure used to build program routines, known as ‘objects’ that can be called up for execution in a windows based environment. COM was first built into Windows 95 and Windows NT.4.0. many parts of Windows operating system and some applications developed by Microsoft’s developers have built in COM objects. Com Objects are stored in the registry of a system and are one of the things that need to be cleaned with registry cleaner.
So What Exactly Does COM Do?
Com is that part of a program that provides an interface between objects. A counterpart DCOM or Distributed COM allows the objects to run remotely. COM is implemented in different ways. Objects can be large small or medium and are written in different programming languages to perform any kind of processing of a file or code. Programs call on objects whenever the program needs the services of the object and the Common Object Model acts as the interface between the program and the object. COM will link common objects to different programs that need them. That is why even though the program may be uninstalled the common object will not be removed. This fills up the registry and slows down a PC. A computer registry cleaner will remove all unwanted entries from a registry and speed up the system.
COM and ActiveX
ActiveX controls can call up COM objects called ‘controls’. These ‘controls’ just blend into the program and become part of the program when called up by COM. OLE also uses COM services in the windows environment. Standard applications, such as word processors and spreadsheets, can be written to expose their internal functions as COM objects, allowing them to be “automated” instead of manually selected from a menu. Microsoft’s OLE compound documents are based on COM, which lets one document be embedded within or linked to another (see OLE). ActiveX Documents are extensions to OLE that allow a Web browser, for example, to view not only Web pages, but any kind of document.
Microsoft Corporation is increasingly making its standard programming interfaces conform to the COM object model so that there is continuity between all interfaces in the Windows working environment. In the beginning Microsoft Corporation decided to use the term ‘OLE’ to refer to its COM-based architecture, then later decided to drop that designation in favor of ActiveX. Now since both OLE and ActiveX are based on COM, the term COM is also used. As a result, any combination of the words COM, OLE and ActiveX followed by the words control, object and component may mean the same thing, or they may not, depending on the context they are referred to.
So in the end we are given to understand that Common Object Model is ActiveX and vice versa in relation to the environment they are working in. All this automatic activity only feeds the registry with information it may not have to retain. But there is no way to rid the registry of this data except with the help of a windows registry cleaner. A PC registry cleaner will remover from the registry all unwanted information thus making the system more efficient.

When you make the decision to start a website for your business, it is a big step. Going from the world of offline business where clients are limited to geographical locations to online where the entire world is a potential client can be overwhelming.
There are many things to take into consideration. You have the products to sell, and the design of the website all planned out, now it is time to put it all together by choosing a web hosting company.
The first thing you should decide on is a domain name. This is perhaps the single most important decision you can make. You want something that is professional; the domain name will reflect the nature of your business. Avoid using cute names; people tend to skip to the next website.
Try to choose a name that is short and easy to remember. Think about your customers when they try to reach your web site. Will be easy to type? Can you spell your domain name at the phone without much trouble? This is going to be your presence in the internet from now on, so choose wisely.
Choosing the web hosting company that is right for you is a long process. There will be millions of options, it is important to ask questions and that the web hosting company answers those questions adequately.
The most crucial point of any web hosting company is their reliability. If the site does not offer enough space, then your website will be shut down for all or part of each month. This is not the goal you have set for your business. Ask the web hosting company if it offers an uptime guarantee. Usually if a company offers a guarantee of this type, their service is reliable.
When you are new to Internet marketing, you will have a lot of question. Sometimes the questions you need to ask will not be during business hours. It is important that customer service is available by phone, email, or even a chat window twenty-four hours a day to answer any questions that you may have.
Another service that is just as crucial as the rest is the storage and bandwidth that your website will need. Most likely, you will not know what your website is, but the web hosting company will. If you want a flashy site, you will need more bandwidth. It is important that you know before hand the ins and outs of web hosting companies.
A good way to find your answers is to do some research. A Google search will yield you all of the information you need. The world is your potential client, reach out and make contact. It will ensure the success of your business.

So you are on vacation and you are looking for a little excitement. That is part of what being on vacation means to me, taking the time to do things that you maybe didn’t do in the past. I know that many people take shore excursions when they are on a cruise, but did you know that you can also enjoy excursions when you are on a land vacation? I’m sure that you have done this in the past but you may not have thought about it being an actual excursion. What are some of the things that you could do and how do you go about locating them?
When we go on a cruise and the ship stops at the port you will see a flood of people walking the plank on their way to some sort of adventure. I know that my wife and I went on a beach excursion in the Caribbean one time and we ended up parasailing. We enjoyed it so much that we wanted to do it again but time didn’t permit. Living in South Florida it would be an easy thing for us to go up in a parasail but we never even considered it while we were at home, but when we went for a trip to Lake Tahoe we ended up finding a place that would take you out and let you parasail over the lake. It was beautiful and a lot of fun, a land vacation excursion at its best.
Another one of our favorite cruise excursions is to go on the catamaran trips. It seems that at least one port on our cruise holds this excursion for us, there really isn’t much more of an enjoyable time in our eyes. So when we had family in a couple years ago and made a February trip to Key West we rented a catamaran there that took us off the keys and let us snorkel in the ocean. It was a lot of fun and there was music and free rum punch, a great time indeed.
So the next time you think about going on a vacation don’t forget to take an excursion, and remember you don’t have to be on a cruise to enjoy the cruise like atmosphere.

Are you getting ready to go on a cruise? There are hundreds of things that you can do when you are in port, as I’m sure that you are finding out from all of the cruise literature that you were given. There certainly isn’t a shortage of excursions that you can take and I have been on my fair share of them but there is an activity that you may be overlooking because you really aren’t told about it. Why don’t you try staying on the Ship?
There are many people that automatically get off the ship when it goes into port, I know that I have been guilty of this myself in the past. It just seems that when the ship stops and you are there you just automatically start following the masses down the gangplank and off the boat, but things on the boat do not stop just because the majority of the people are not there. Sure some of the activities may slow down a bit but if you look a little you can find a lot of things that you can do on the ship, especially because nobody else is there.
The first thing that I noticed when I stayed on the ship the first time is that the pool and play areas are almost deserted, this is great because you can grab a seat of your choice and really soak in the sunshine and enjoy some quiet time reading a book while nobody else is around. The food is also flowing just as freely while the ship is at port so you will be able to enjoy a nice quiet meal and the views are wonderful out the dining room windows.
There are also some activities that are still going on while the ship is at port so take the time to enjoy something like dance lessons or a cooking class. You will not be in a crowd and will learn more and will be more likely to enjoy yourself.
So when you are on the ship and it stops at port make sure you doing walk the plank. Stay on board and enjoy the ship!

If you have never had the opportunity to fly across the ocean then I both feel sorry for you and I envy you. I love traveling and taking vacations, especially when it means going to someplace that is really far away, but the flight is a real killer. I don’t know about you but there is only so much that I can really think about doing on a flight that lasts 6 or more hours. Sure they have movies and the shopping catalogs and airplane instructions in the seatback in front of you but will this be enough to keep you occupied as you are traveling so long? Here are a few things that I do in order to combat airline boredom.
1. I always carry my own reading material. I know that there are so many different periodicals that I get in the mail and I am never able to keep up on them. Sometimes I am not even up to opening them, they simply go into the pile for things that I’m going to do someday. Well when you are taking a long flight it is a great time to catch up on your reading, just take them along in your carryon luggage.
2. Play a game. If you enjoy playing games then you would probably enjoy having something like a Gameboy along with you on the trip. I know that this is good for me for at least a couple of hours, maybe more if I break the playing time up over several periods. You can also bring a game like boggle, or something that is contained if you are traveling with someone that also suffers from airline boredom.
3. Write a letter. If you are anything like me you are always wanting to write letters to people but don’t have the time to do it. Sitting on the plane you will have all the time that you need to write those notes that you have been putting off for so long.
4. Make a list – Think of things that need done and make them out into lists. Take the down time that you have while sitting on the flight and get more organized.
These are just a few things that will help the time to pass more quickly on a long flight. I hope that it helps you to get where you are going feeling a bit more refreshed.

After truly leaving my heart in San Francisco, we visited again a year and a half later. This time we opted to stay right on Fisherman’s Wharf. This we found to be just as, if not even more, enjoyable as staying on Union Square.
We booked through the Radisson at Fisherman’s Wharf and were very happy with it. I had read mixed reviews about it. Some people were so unhappy that they switched hotels the second night. I found no validation for this. The staff was awesome, the location couldn’t be beat. I’m not really sure nor do I remember why they didn’t like it but oh well, I’m glad it didn’t deter me.
I’ve written before about San Francisco stating that we don’t rent a car when there, well, we didn’t this time either and again I found no reason to. I suppose if you were to drive up into the Wine Country from there you would need one for that but once again we were on our way to Hawaii and only had a few days in the city. We found plenty to do right there.
A must see is Pier 39. Actually you hear it before you see it. The most awesome sea lions all basking, playing and barking if you will, just waiting for you to snap their picture. The food and shopping is nice too. We ate at Bubba Gump’s and had excellent service.
We took the Alcatraz tour one day and have added this to the must see list as well. The particular day we went, it was rainy and grey. (Not an unusual day out there I hear.) Truthfully that only added to the ambience of the infamous Rock. Definitely get the headsets that point out interesting tidbits about the prison. Take your time there and make sure to take in the short cinema they have. It is all so very interesting. You won’t be disappointed.

I have to tell you, San Francisco has to be one of my all time favorite places. I LOVE it! We have had the opportunity to visit there twice in the past 2 years and I would go again in a heartbeat.
Our first visit we stayed in the Union Square District. Our hotel was tall and fabulous with our room overlooking Union Square. What a fascinating city! We chose not to rent a car and I’m glad we didn’t. Driving is nothing short of scary there. What with there narrow streets, hills and curves not to mention buses, streetcars and people, people, people.
We only had 2 days there for we were on route to Hawaii. I have to admit, had the whole vacation been spent in San Francisco I would not have been disappointed. We took a bus tour of the bay area including of course the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge. What a thrill to see it in person. Our first trip out there we didn’t actually drive over the bridge, a regret I quickly corrected on our next trip out.
Bring comfy shoes for you will walk and walk and walk. The people are amazing there, they are so fit. I’m not young but I’m certainly not over the hill yet but people twice my age where passing me by like I was standing still. Of course, it doesn’t help that I come from an area that claims garbage dumps and overpasses as our highest points!
I recommend using an online service such as Priceline to book your reservations. For us, it was a tremendous savings and the hotel was top notch. I also recommend using the hotel shuttle service rather than a cab to get you to and from the airport. We found out after the fact that we could have saved over half the amount by doing this.
The cable cars are a must do when visiting the city but beware, it’s not always easy to hop aboard. Our first trip out, they were on strike and only one line was active. It took us the entire day to be able to ride but I wasn’t about to leave without doing it. Just to hum the Rice a Roni song I listened to as a child brought a smile to my face.
If you ever get a notion to visit this beautiful City by the Bay don’t pass up the thought. It is a definite must see!

Traveling with dogs can sometimes be a challenge. In our case we have two dogs that are as different as day and night. One is an 80 lb. Labrador and the other a 5 lb. Papillion. So you might imagine what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for the other.
Living in South Florida we have been known to have our occasional hurricane. I’m here to tell you that I HATE storms. They announce one coming and the dust is trailing behind me! To complicate my fear of storms we have the 2 dogs and an elderly father that lives with us. So our exit out of town needs to be well thought out.
First of all, its important to have a list of necessary supplies. By having the list you aren’t rushing around at the last minute worrying that you’ve remembered everything. Things you might include on your list are your dog’s or cat’s vaccination record. If you don’t have one, at the very least have the vet’s phone number. He or she can always provide the information to you, should the need arise. Have a list of any medications your pet may be taking and the proper dosage. Water and food dishes, leads, collars and a few toys are a necessity when traveling with your pet. You want them to feel as comfortable and “at home†as possible.
For our lab, we have the option to take one of the back seats out so that he has plenty of room to stretch out. The Papillion gets an old pillow to rest on, or you may have a dog bed. Try to keep as much familiar for them as possible. This assists in keeping restlessness to a minimum.
We research our route well before heading out to make sure of which hotels are pet friendly. Be sure and call the hotel ahead of time. We have found that hotels we visited in the past, stopped accepting pets. We also found a wide range of additional fees for the stay. Holiday Inn Express is one of our personal favorites. I can not stress enough the need to phone ahead!
While in the car be sure your pet is always secured. We keep our dogs on a lead and have found this very helpful. Especially when someone is exiting or entering the car you don’t want the pet to dash out into traffic or up a tree and be harmed.
Like people, pets appreciate stretching their legs and the chance to relieve themselves. Most rest stops have designated areas for you to use. Be sure you take this time to water and exercise them. A happy pet makes for a happy owner and a pleasant trip.

Living in South Florida has its rewards and its setbacks. Especially in the past few years have the hurricanes become one of the setbacks. In order to reduce some of the stress it is imperative to prepare in advance and have a plan of action.
Long before the threat is upon you, it is good to make up a box of important papers. If you typically keep papers such as birth certificates, marriage license and insurance papers in a special file you may want to have duplicates in the file and the originals in a ready to go water tight container. There may also be some precious photos or family keepsake that you don’t want damaged or lost.
Make yourself a list of the important things at a time when you aren’t hurried. That way you can have it well thought out. Keep the list on the fridge, and when you think of something else add it on. Now put a copy of that list in your water tight container. When packing up to either evacuate or just to hunker down for the storm you can take extra precautions with the things most needed and precious to you.
In your container, you might include a flashlight, battery operated radio, list of medicines along with dosages, some old rags, rain ponchos, first aid kit cell re-charger and extra batteries. A list of important phone numbers is extremely important too. Numbers such as your insurance agent, the neighbor, doctors, local authorities are examples of ones you may need. If you are forced to or choose to evacuate, you can make contact from wherever you end up.
Never, ever take those things out of the container except to update them. How often have we needed something, scavenged it from our supply only to not have it when we needed it most?
Just taking a few moments at a non critical time can save us from an outrageous hassle during a critical time. If you must evacuate or should you choose to you’ll have the peace of mind in knowing that the truly important things are already taken care of.

Whenever I’m about to leave on a road trip there is always someone that groans and feels sorry for me. Well, I’m here to tell you they don’t have to be torture. I happen to love them and I’m about to share with you a few of my personal survival tactics.
1.Your travel companion must and I repeat must be easy going. I am fortunate enough to have a most awesome husband. He, (unlike my father growing up) has the patience of Job and absolutely no problem pacing our trip. My experience growing up was quite the opposite. You stopped only for gas, bathroom stops must be timed with such. Hotel stops if you were lucky enough to get one was long after dark and too late to swim. Food was packed at the beginning and better last the trip!
2.It’s good to have a hobby. Some of my personal favorite car ride pastimes include Sudoku, rag mags and scrap booking. That’s right I even manage to scrap book in the car!
3.Know your route. Because my husband and I frequently visit family in Pennsylvania we are well familiar with the trip. ( Sixteen times this past year) We have made our own travel information log of our favorite stops along the way. For example we know that at exit 6 in Georgia, gas in very cheap, exit 8 in South Carolina is a good overnight stopping point. (outlet mall included). Exit 95 wonderful outlet mall and perfect timing for a car nap for the driver while the passenger(s) shop. Last but not least exit 33 in Virginia has the much needed Starbucks! So you see, by having points of interest along the way, you always have something to look forward to. These can be tailored to your own personal likes.
Do you see how just applying these few points a car trip can actually be fun!

Most people think that a vacation has to be a week or more. I say NOT SO! Some of my husband’s and my favorite vacations have been shall we say, “short and very sweetâ€.
For example, one of my all time favorite music groups is the Eagles. I went online one day and found that they were playing a concert out in Stateline Nevada on Lake Tahoe. That started my wheels spinning. What if, and the next thing you know we were flying out there. The following steps are what I took to arrange a wonderful 5 day get-away.
1. Preparation is the key and the computer age has made almost anything possible.
2. I got on E-bay and searched for tickets to the concert. No problem! There were plenty of people willing to sell. I opted for fantastic seats. After all, if this was going to be a special get-away why not go all out. There were more reasonable ones available if that was what a person desired.
3. Priceline was my next stop. I priced out a package deal including room and car. Since neither my husband or I had ever been to Tahoe, I opted to stay right at the Harvey’s Resort where the concert was going to be held.
4. Again, the internet was a valuable tool. I searched for points of interest in the area. I looked up reviews on each one that sounded interesting to me then called for the reservations.
5. We packed our bags and out we flew. Our itinerary went like this.
Sunday morning had us on a flight from Florida to Atlanta. Bonus! They needed volunteers for the First Class flight to Reno. For a nominal fee you could be upgraded to first class. Since the flight was a long one we felt the upgrade was well worth it and we were right! Arrival in Reno was very late. We got our rental car and headed south to Stateline.
Since the concert wasn’t until Thursday night we used Monday thru Thursday to sightsee. We took a sky lift up Heavenly a sunset Martini cruise aboard the old 3-M yacht. The next day we took a daytrip down to Yosemite. This was special because my husband had always wanted to see El Capitan and other beautiful sights there. Another evening we boarded a sailing yacht for yet another sunset cruise on Lake Tahoe Our last day there we opted for a bird’s eye view of the lake and parasailed over the Lake. Thursday night came and we walked out of our hotel across the parking area and into the amphitheater for an awesome night under the stars.
Friday morning came and we were on our way home. Five days had passed, hardly anything went on back home, in fact we’re not sure anyone realized we were gone. But in those five days we had made a memory to last a lifetime!

I’m not a big history buff, but I have found a town full of history that I recommend that everyone visit at least once in their lives. This town is Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. It is a town rich in civil war history that is full of historic buildings. It is also a town rich in beauty that sits at the site where the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers meet and is surrounded by hills and trees.
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania that was just a short drive to Harpers Ferry. I would go there often as a day trip, sometimes just to get away from the hustle and bustle of work and school and other times to share the town with friends and family. Every trip I made, I always learned something new about the area or saw something that I hadn’t noticed before.
There is so much to see and do at Harpers Ferry. When you arrive in the town, you will think that you can go through it in about 2 hours and be done. While it is a small town, it is packed full of interesting stores and tours that could easily keep you around for a long weekend. If you visit this town, prepare to arrive early in the morning so that you can take it all in.
Harpers Ferry history includes the site of the famous John Brown’s raid. You can read about the raid and trace the steps of this famous event. This town is also the site of the first integrated high school and the site of the first successful railroad. There are historic homes that you can tour and an old grave yard that contains tomb stones that predate the Civil War. You can use a map to do your own tour or take a guided tour of the area.
If you want to shop, you will find anything from antique stores to stores that sell local arts and crafts. There is a jewelry store that contains beaded and gem jewelry. There are a few restaurants that all have great food and an ice cream parlor that you must visit. Don’t forget to take pictures of yourself with famous people in the wax museum.
Once you have toured the town itself, you can hike the outlying areas. There is an old railroad track that overlooks the rivers. You can hike up to the top of Maryland Heights. You can find walking and driving guides online or at the entrance to the park.
If you are ever in the West Virginia area, I highly recommend that you make a stop in Harpers Ferry. Between the beauty, the history and the shopping, you will find a little something for everything in this quaint town.
