The ABCs of auto insurance.

Monday, April 28th, 2008

What is auto insurance? Auto insurance (or car insurance, motor insurance) is insurance consumers can purchase for cars, trucks, and other vehicles. Its primary use is to provide protection against losses incurred. By buying auto insurance, depending on the type of coverage purchased, the consumer may be protected against:

* The cost of repairing the vehicle following an accident

* The cost of purchasing a new vehicle if it is stolen or damaged beyond economic repair

* Legal liability claims against the driver or owner of the vehicle following the vehicle causing damage or injury to a third party.

Liability insurance covers only the last point, while comprehensive insurance covers all three. Even comprehensive insurance, however, doesn’t fully cover the risk associated with buying a new car. Due to the sharp decline in value immediately following purchase, there is generally a period in which the remaining car payments exceed the compensation the insurer will pay for a “totaled” (destroyed, or written-off) vehicle. So-called GAP insurance was established in the early 1980’s to provide protection to consumers based upon buying and market trends. The escalating price of cars, extended term auto loans, and the increasing popularity of leasing gave birth to GAP protection. GAP waivers provide protection for consumers when a “gap” exists between the actual value of their vehicle and the amount of money owed to the bank or leasing company. In some countries including New Zealand and Australia market structures mean that people are more likely to buy a nearly new car than a new car so this is less of a problem.

In the United States, liability insurance covers claims against the policy holder and generally, any other operator of the insured’s vehicle, provided they do not live at the same address as the policy holder and are not specifically excluded on the policy. In the case of those living at the same address, they must specifically be covered on the policy. Thus it is necessary for example, when a family member comes of driving age they must be added on to the policy. Liability insurance generally does not protect the policy holder if they operate any vehicles other than their own. When you drive a vehicle owned by another party, you are covered under that party’s policy. Non-owners policies may be offered that would cover an insured on any vehicle they drive. This coverage is available only to those who do not own their own vehicle.

Generally, liability coverage does extend when you rent a car. However, in most cases only liability applies. Any additional coverage, such as comprehensive policies, i.e. “full coverage” may not apply. Full coverage premiums are based on, among other factors, the value of the insured’s vehicle. This coverage may not apply to rental cars because the insurance company does not want to assume responsibility for a claim greater than the value of the insured’s vehicle, assuming that a rental car may be worth more than the insured’s vehicle. Some states, such as Minnesota, may require that it extend to rental cars. Most rental car companies offer insurance to cover damage to the rental vehicle. In some regions, the costs associated with not having access to the vehicle (”Loss of Use”) is also covered.

You don’t want to keep your useless tools in your storage right? You will only fill up the room with broken tools, so you feel you want to throw everything out. Wow, that’s really a good way to throw out money.

Try not throwing out your tools from the storage by fixing and maintains it properly. Even if it is not broken, maintaining your tools is one way to help you having long lasting equipment. What ever it is, tools are so significant for you to have and has been used since stone era.

Britannica Encyclopaedia said tools began perhaps a million years ago when man learned to walk erect. His hands were then free to grasp objects of wood and stone. He used these to kill animals for food, and they became the first tools. All tools have vast advantage. It’s really amazing how those tools helping people to do their everyday life. You will be lured to own your set of tools too.

Not just keen to buy, but maintaining is also important. The better a tool works, the less you’ll have to use your energy to do the work. Tools that are in good working order will last forever. Maintenance tasks are easy to do and typically for garden tools are required only once a year. If the tasks are done at end of the season, the tools are ready to use when the season starts, and they are better protected from corrosion during storage.

Before your start keeping your tools, let’s check these checklists:

• After you use your tools, and you expect to use it again in a long run by keeping it in the storage, better you replace blades or sharpen tools that cut or dig, lubricate moving parts and oil materials that tend to dry out.

• When a repair is not a safe option, replace the broken parts before you keep your tools in the storage. Don’t try to glue or tape a broken wooden handle.

• Before you start fixing your tools, gather all your tools to assess the damage or maintenance needs on the worktable that already cover with newspaper, so it will not be dirty from dirt and oil.

• Write down which tools need to be fixed and which one only needs to be maintained.

• You should wear heavy gloves for your work. Files rough-sharpen digging tools and to sharpen nicked or very dull cutting tools; sharpening stones are required to hone and maintain sharp edges on cutting tools.

• If a metal file doesn’t have an integral handle, buy a handle for it. The tool will be much safer to use for the next work. Better you keep it diligently.

It’s really amazing how those tools helping people to do their everyday life, especially when your tools are maintained very careful.

Should You or Should You Not Get Back Together With Your Ex?

Monday, April 28th, 2008

For some people, when a relationship ends, it brings on feeling of loneliness. Even though there may be hard feelings from both persons, it is difficult from feeling this way. It is also does not matter who did the breaking up, those feelings always seem to creep up. It makes you long to get back together with the person you broke up with. This is a natural feeling. For the one who did the breaking up, you probably didn’t think you would not feel this way, but even you may feel like you made a mistake.

If you act on those feelings, you may find yourself in a messy situation. You start to think about them times that things were good. What you did at the park or maybe how you first met. All these things seem more important than why you broke up. Many people think the relationship would have gone differently if they had changed a few things about themselves. Those items that were once a nuisance may not be one anymore many people think.

If you really want to get back with the person you broke up with, it may be a daunting task. This is especially true if you were the instigator and wanted to leave the relationship. Do you think it will be easy to get back with your ex? It may not be as simple as you have played it out in your mind.

When people have been dumped, anger and resentment will set in within a few days of the break up. There is also a possibility that your ex is already moving on, getting over the break up you may have not been over. For that reason, it is best to leave the matter alone.

Should you be the one who was dumped, it may have been because they were not in love with you and wanted to be with someone else or you were not what they expected and not who they wanted to be with. In these cases, you more than likely do not stand a chance.

Sometimes people who have been dumped take it as a sign as something was wrong with them and not the situation. It can mess with their head so much that they work harder to take care of them and forget out why the relationship did fell through. They can ask and receive answers but there is no guarantee that they will see how the situation was even probable. With this in mind, getting back together with the person you broke up with may not be possible.

Should you both give it another go around, never start off where the relationship ended. Treat it as though it is a new relationship. By doing this, you may succeed now where you first failed. Keep the relationship new and inviting. Do not count the first time as times together. Believe it or not, it can help to make some kind of game out of “first time” meeting and go on a “first” date. Sometimes you can get back together with the person you broke up with, you both just need a little more humor in your lives.

Women: How Not To Be to Bring Back Your Ex

Monday, April 28th, 2008

No matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to bring your ex back. You want so badly for the both of you to be back together. You feel like nothing will ever be right and that makes you feel helpless and frantic. You think that by doing something desperate everything will work out the way you want it. This is usually never the case. So what can do you to bring your ex back then?

When you do something off the wall to win back your ex, it only makes it seem like you have gone completely insane. You don’t want to come off that way. You need to come off as someone who maintains control under any kind of pressure all the time. Think about the time when you first met. What were you like then?

For an example… are you the type to drink? Do you drink at all? Are you a social drinker or do you prefer to drink alone? If you are not accustomed to drinking or you drink lightly, you no doubt have a limited tolerance to alcohol. Supposing you drink more than your fair share one night at a party and your ex boyfriend is there as well. Do you think by overdrinking that this will bring your ex back? It’s more likely going to do one of two things, neither of them good. He could make him very angry perhaps driving him away for good or he may begin to laugh at you. This is the kind of laughing you would not want from him.

You have to understand that the only way to bring your ex back to you is to be yourself. Do not be someone you are not! Men will only like fake women for so long before they are tired of them. If you are the type of person who is a little shy, then it is okay to be a little shy. If you are an outgoing person, it is good to be outgoing.

Never try to be someone else. Men like it when women are upfront and honest with them. The best thing for women to do is show your ex that you still love him but it is best not to go overboard like calling all the time and professing your love.

Think about all those blond jokes and ditzy blond movies. Men and women alike love to laugh at them because they are overly silly and (in the movies) act like they are dumb. The women who portray these characters the movies are being something they are not. If you want to be something like this and think it will bring your ex back, you are only fooling yourself.

The overall thing to remember is when trying to bring you ex back to you, be yourself and stay at calm at all times.

Hiring A New Employee

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Not all companies can run a “one man show”. You may eventually need a 1 or 2 assistants, or maybe you plan on having 100 or more employees. Either way, the hiring process can be rather intimidating.

There is actually a tried and true method of finding the right employee for your company. It can all start with knowing what you will hire your employee for. Here are some ideas on how to get started.

Write down exactly what you want your new employee to do for you

How will his or her role help you with your job? Your new employee is there to help you, so find tasks you can delegate to your new employee. By listing everything you want your employee to do, you should be able to determine if you need someone who might be full time, part time, or maybe you just need someone to come in on a freelance/independent contractor basis.

Align similar tasks to one employee. You wouldn’t ask a janitor to do the same job as your accountant, however there are many new companies that start out and ask their first few employees to take on all sorts of roles. You might be able to find someone who can do it all, but not everyone can do that.

Understand how to read resumes and cover letters

Resumes and cover letters say a lot about a person. Does the cover letter answer questions you posted in your job ad? Do they ask questions, and more so than asking, “How much do you pay?” Does the resume reflect the type of skills they state they have in the cover letter? Can you verify previous employers?

Knowing how to read resumes for a new employee is important. Don’t just match up skills with the job. Try to match up personalities too. You might learn more about this in the interview process, but it can be applied to cover letters as well. Personalities can come through in the words.

Get your business lawyer and accountant in on the deal

Make sure you let them know you are hiring so they can help you with the legal aspects and the paper work involved. Your accountant should be able to help you to figure out if your employee will be worth bringing in and how to set up getting your employee paid. You might also be able to get good references for where to fine good employees in your area by talking with these key people.

Follow federal and state guidelines for hiring

You might be required to pay certain taxes if you hire someone as an employee. Understand the difference between an independent contractor and an employee. You might be considering hiring an independent contractor to handle a few jobs for you. Maybe you’re considering a virtual employee to save on office equipment and other potential savings. Make sure you understand the difference between an employee and an independent contractor and what you can ask of him or her. Again, ask your lawyer and accountant what the best way is to hire a new employee.

Complete several interviews

After your first set of interviews, select a handful of prime candidates and bring them in for second interviews. This gives you a chance to talk further about the position, and to get to know the potential employees a little more.

If the job doesn’t warrant spending time with additional interviews, write notes in the margins of resumes about the person at the time of the interview. This will help you to remember them later when you are making your selections.

Run a background check on every new employee

There are various levels of background checks you can run on people. If you have a general employee that doesn’t touch or have access to sensitive materials, run a lighter background check. If you have someone who will be handling the important materials, have them complete a more through background check.

You should probably run a background check on everyone you hire, not just those close to special data. A background check can be an inexpensive way to learn a lot more about your potential employees. You can save the employee background check for the final step of the hiring process.

Don’t forget to run credit checks and drug testing. Some employees can hide their dependency on drugs very well so you’ll want to just have everyone do it as a precaution. Also run credit checks to find potential problems early on.

Get signed contracts

Make sure your employees know their job and they will know what they do have access to and what they do not. Those who have access to sensitive materials should be under a contract. Lay out hours they will work, their duties, their salary, if there will be paid sick time, benefits and all the finer details. Have your lawyer check out the contract and have every employee sign one.

Consider an employment service

Some companies out there do a lot of the work for you. You can hire someone who has already been screened. You can start by working with someone on a temporary basis, and see if he works out. If he does, then you can hire that person on full time. You’d just pay a fee to the employment service for working with them.

Just remember to keep your lawyer and accountant involved in the process. Do this least the first few times until you understand how it works for your state and can do it on your own later on if you need to. If you have other employees already, and are hiring new employees, ask your current employees what they think about people who walk in and drop off resumes, or get them involved in the hiring process.

There are lots of things to consider when hiring an employee, but you’ll find that if you do the work properly the first time, you’ll more likely hire someone great early on. Completing all these steps will save you time from rehiring later on. Just take your time and remember that most all the people you interview have the same desire — to please you and do a good job.

Instant People Check is a leading provider of an instant background check online. For just $12.95 you’ll a lot more about your potential new hire that they may want you to.
