The Must Have for all articles in article marketing

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Articles are vastly underestimated by many online businesses today and the truth is that the benefits of marketing with articles is impossible to fully measure. Articles can make or break a site in terms of traffic and repeat visitors. In addition to other SEO factors and other methods of linking article marketing has developed into a major element in site building and earning profit from that site. In addition to the SEO benefits that articles provide by submitting them to article directories you also will benefit from direct click throughs from the articles themselves.

Many website owners have seen the results of using articles on their sites and for site promotion almost immediately. Original articles will help to get you higher rankings in the search engine results and the higher you rank in the search engines the more free organic traffic you will receive. Obviously this is the most desirable outcome since it opens up the potential for other income generating opportunities as well.

You can’t just write anything though, you need to have some guidelines and the following tips will help you get moving in the right direction.

One tricky area in that of keywords, in the early days of article marketing you could just stuff keywords into articles and that would get you ranked, now that same practice can get you banned. The key now is to write more naturally and focus on certain niche keywords and their synonyms, for example, writing articles about a particular model of car or wristwatch. How to articles are in great demand and are very well liked by all. You want to be sure that the article has keywords related to your site so do your keyword research and use the right keywords in articles that you write.

As I mentioned previously, you cannot get by these days by just stuffing articles full of keywords the articles must actually be good sources of information in order to be picked up by the greatest number of possible syndicate networks and other websites. In addition to being entertaining and informative they also need to be written with good spelling and proper grammar which precludes one from relying on third world country rewriters in order to get articles written correctly.

Include as many facts, figures, and statistics as you can in your articles and you will also benefit in being seen as an expert in the field you are writing about. It will help them to trust you and the products and services you represent.

Lastly, you want to be sure to write a compelling resource box for the article. Some article directories are more limiting on how many links can be included in this but this is the whole key to your article. If you write and article and don’t have the links back to the site you are seeking to promote with well chosen anchor text you have just wasted your time writing the article.

Writing Article Reviews for profit

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Writing a review article for a product is one of the greatest ways to get targeted traffic. Customers are looking for information to help them decide what to buy. By giving them the helpful information they need, you are aiding them to make that decision and are gaining a higher level of trust. If you do it right and they decide to buy right then, they will click on the link in your article to purchase from you. This is the whole basis of writing article reviews. Here are three methods to go about writing a review article.

The first way to write a review article is to buy the product. Firsthand knowledge allows you to list all the advantages and disadvantages of the product. Although it can be an expensive way to get information, you will be able to provide solid information. You will have a real review. Another option to consider is to ask the owner for a trial, and tell them you own a popular review site that you plan reviewing their product on. Many companies would love the chance to get a review, if they knew it could bring them some business. It can’t hurt to ask.

A second way, is to take a survey of others who have used the product or service before. You can ask them questions about the product using a standard set of questions you would like to cover in order to give a good review. You can also ask them to give it a rating on a scale of one to ten. Online forums are a great place to find users who would be nice enough to give you the information you are looking for. If you are able to find enough customers to take your survey, this is a great way to write an accurate review without having to buy the product.

The third, cheapest, and fastest way to write a review article is to search for other review articles on the same topic. Search Google for other review articles and compile the points you would like to highlight/summarize in your own words. Include the good and the bad comments of the customer’s experience that you found. Then, just average the ratings you got from them and you are done. With this method, you dont have to buy the product or spend time trying to locate other owners to interview.

Purchasing products and services is a good way to get information for writing review articles. But, if you advertise a lot of them, be ready to spend a lot of money and hope they convert! You may want to interview additional users or search other reviews. Whichever way you choose to do it, writing review articles is one of the most profitable forms of article marketing today.

The importance of simple landing pages to start my affiliate marketing career.

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Are you just getting started in Internet Marketing and you want to sell something? Not having your own product, you decide to try affiliate marketing (selling someone else’s product). OK, great…but how do you do it?

You can buy hundreds of ebooks all with different “systems” or strategies and you can find lots of free information as well. Eventually though, you are going to realize that you will need to make some landing pages.

What are landing pages? Landing pages are where you want your visitor to “land” and once there, you hope they click on your link to go to the sellers website where they will then buy the product.

Why not just link directly to the sellers website? Why do you need a landing page at all? Well, it depends on how you are going to get your visitor to the sellers site. A popular way is by writing articles, having them published, and having readers find those articles and click on the links inside them. The problem is that many article sites do not allow direct affiliate marketing links. They will allow links to your website or landing page but not directly to the seller.

You can learn a lot about landing pages by typing in “What are landing pages” in Google. You will find lots of useful information and tips galore on how to make great landing pages. But just like everything else on the Internet, after reading 10 or so different articles, you may be no closer to making one and confused about exactly what you should do.

I believe the best way to get started is by making simple landing pages that pretty much say to the viewer ‘here is the product and here is where you get it”. I don’t do a lot of “pre-selling” on my landing pages and many Internet marketers would disagree with that. The common consensus is that you should warm your visitor up to the sale by reviewing the item and/or telling them how great it is.

The problem with that is that it is difficult to write convincingly about something you know little about. Another problem for beginners is that their writing skills may not be up to par…at least not yet. That is why I recommend setting up something simple at first.

My opinion is that it is my job (or you might say the landing page’s job) to get the visitor to the seller’s website. It is the seller’s job from there to convert the sale. I sort of just open the door for customers to walk through and let the product and shopkeeper do the rest. If they can’t do their job, then I have to at some time move to another product.

Open up a free blog at Blogger and make your site as pretty and color coordinated as you can (some people will obviously be better at this than others) and do a lot of copying and pasting graphics and words from your sellers website. Only use one link to the seller’s website though, as using free blogs for marketing is frowned on and if you overdo it they could suspend you. Ideally you should get your own domain and hosting but that can be done once you start making money.

Basically you are making a big advertisement that says “This is where you get so and so product”. If the people you drive to your blog want that product, then they will click on the link to find out more. Once they do that, you have done your job. Making a landing page is the easy part: getting targeted traffic to your website or blog is much harder.

Ebooks creation using Google and Ebay

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Have you been working at an online business for a while now, and thinking of creating a product of your own that you can sell online to make extra money? Well, have I got the solution for you! E-books are becoming one of the most popular selling information products online today, and you can use Google and Ebay to help you create your very own digital product!

If the thought of writing an e-book seems a daunting task to you, it’s really not as difficult as it seems. If you are already educated in internet marketing and know what writing original articles can do for your business and search engine ranking, then you are already most of the way there. Even if you know little about internet marketing and just like to write, you have a good chance of creating a good downloadable product that you can sell online.

The trick to writing an e-book that will sell is to know what people’s problems are. This doesn’t mean you need to be a psychologist! It simply means that you need an awareness of what people are asking for online that they need help with and want to find a solution for. People will buy from you when they know you have defined a problem they are having, and offer a solution to that problem.

What can Google and Ebay do to help you write this problem-defining and problem-solving e-book that will sell like hot cakes you ask? The answer is that Google and Ebay are excellent research tools that you can tap into to find out what people are having problems with. It’s very important to use these free tools because if you start writing away about a topic that has little relevance to what people are looking for online then chances are your product won’t sell.

Keep in mind too that the other trick to making a best-selling e-book is to know about and love your chosen topic. You will find it much easier to write a lot about a topic you are truly interested in rather than trying to write about something you know nothing about. You want to share your expertise and personal experiences about a topic, not your fake attempt to appeal to people’s emotions just so they will buy your product.

So once you find a topic you love and know about, you can go to Ebay and start doing your research. What do I mean by “doing your research”? By this I mean you want to know what people are looking to buy on Ebay. Let’s say you love hiking in the mountains. Go to Ebay and type in “hiking”, or “hiking boots”, or “hiking backpacks”, for example. Find out what gets a lot of people’s interest, as indicated by the number in the search results. Look at the listings to see what people are bidding on. This will give you an idea if your topic is worth writing an e-book about or not. Do the same in Google by typing in some search terms related to your topic to see if you can find the problems people want answers to, and if you feel you can write a lot about that yourself.

It’s very good practice to get into the habit of using a good keyword research tool, such as the one offered at SEO Book. Once you have a good topic, you also want to target the keywords people are searching for in the search engines. With a keyword research tool you will find out which keywords are worth targeting. Most people think to use the keywords with the most searches, however, you want to target keywords that do get searched, but not the most frequently so that you can get to the top of the search engine listings with your effective keywords. These will be keywords searched maybe 5000-10000 times per month or thereabouts in Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

The great thing about having been involved in internet marketing before is that you have probably already written a few articles to promote your business online. If this is the case, you can compile your articles into an e-book without having to write anything extra! E-books don’t have to be long! Or if you write about your experiences and can share your knowledge about your climb to Everest’s base camp, then just compile your notes into an e-book with very little extra effort!

Finally, you can use Google and Ebay not only for research purposes, but after you’ve written your e-book, you can then offer it for sale on Ebay, advertise it using Google Adwords perhaps, watch your e-book rise to the top of the search engine listings, and grin happily as the sales start coming in!

Motor Coach Rental: Double-checking for Safety

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Before you even strike a deal with a motor coach rental company, consider one important thing: your safety. It could be that the bus is fully equipped with a lot of amenities, but if it lacks something in the safety department, you can be in grave danger. Your motor coach rental company should be one that puts more emphasis on safety than on anything else.

How do you know if the motor coach rental company is ideal?

You basically don’t need to really call the motor coach rental company before you can see if it can give you safe vehicles or not. It’s, in fact, sometimes not a good idea as some may actually place their company at a positive light, hiding any defects or safety problems that they may have. You can, however, do the following:

1. Confirm if the company has any safety issues filed against them. One obvious red flag that the transport provider may have some huge problems on the safety of their motor coaches is when there are actual complaints filed against them in Better Business Bureau. This is an organization that normally protects the rights of the consumers to know the validity and the extent or nature of services of businesses.

2. Check the safety rating of the company in FMCSA. There are certain requirements set by the FMCSA, or the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. These should be met by the motor coach rental companies; otherwise, they will be prohibited from operating such business. You can check if the company has a passing rating by visiting http:// www.safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx. You can just enter the name of the company. If you don’t get any result, you can try to key in the MC/MX number, or the DOT number.

3. The motor coach rental company should be advocates of safety belt programs. The passengers’ safety belt is an overlooked component of a vehicle, but it has helped save a lot of lives. It’s better if you can set up a short meeting with the provider, together with the actual motor coach that you’re going to use. Look around and check that every seat, including that of the driver, is equipped with a durable and well-maintained safety belt.

4. The driver should be highly qualified and clean of any substance abuse. Sometimes accidents can happen because the driver could be high on drugs or a certified alcoholic. The drivers of the motor coach rental company must not only be professional, but also tested of any substance abuse. You can confirm that from a drug agency, or you can ask for records from the car rental company. If they have nothing to hide, they would be glad to give you what you need.

5. Go for those with safety standard certificates. There are several agencies, including FMCSA, that hold different safety driving workshops, seminars, and tests. A motor coach rental company that participated in any of these should have received certificates to prove their passing rating and their attendance. You can also ask your motor coach rental company for them or just look around the office. They are commonly placed in frames and attached on walls.

Motorcoach Travel: Why the World Looks a Lot Better When You’re into One

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

There’s no other way to see the world than to travel. The pictures and even videos can only do so much. But traveling has become more or less hard to achieve due to economic reasons. A motorcoach travel then becomes a very good option. This is because a motorcoach travel is economical, friendly, and totally safe for you and the environment.

Why a Motorcoach Travel Is Perfect for a Great Vacation

A motorcoach travel guarantees you one thing: pleasure. You can have the rest of the world with you, without any hassle. All you need to do is to pay for the motor coach, and you can just let the rest of the tour operator to take care everything for you. Here are some more reasons:

1. You don’t need to worry anything about driving. When you avail of a motor coach service, normally, you’re provided with your own driver. This is actually practical and convenient for you since there’s a possibility that you don’t know the rules of the streets. He can also get you to your destination points without the worry of getting lost along the way. Of course, you have a professional driver with a valid license behind the wheels of the motor coach.

2. You can actually save some money. Finances will always be one of the major concerns when you’re traveling, and surprisingly, a motor coach is a more practical mode of transport than cars and, most of all, airplanes. This is because they are known for their fuel efficiency. The coaches, moreover, are properly maintained or fine-tuned. There are lesser possibilities of any car breakdowns, which could be additional expense for you and your family. Most of all, you can choose to have one bus for all 30 to even more than 50 passengers. That’s a lot cheaper than hiring several cars for all of you.

3. Motor coaches are very safe. Do you know that a motorcoach travel is a lot safer than airplanes, ships, and cars? This is proven by statistics reports of different safety administration offices all over the world. This could be because they are a lot bigger and sturdier. The impact during head-on collision is less felt when you’re riding on a bus than inside your car.

4. Motor coaches are friendly to the environment. As mentioned, these types of transport make use of the fuel efficiently. They also don’t give off harmful gases to the environment. This way, you can enjoy the sceneries while being a more responsible citizen of your country.

5. You can have the sights all throughout the trip. A motorcoach travel makes the trip worthwhile. Since you can leave all your worries to the driver, all you need to do is to absorb everything that you can possibly see. You can also relax if there are no exciting things happening, chat with your co-passengers, or watch a movie. There are a lot of things that a motorcoach travel can do for you even when you’re on the road.

How to choose the Most Profitable Subject For Your Ebook

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Choosing a subject for your first (or tenth) ebook is the biggest factor in determining the success or failure of your project. An ebook that is well written, provides great information, and is perfectly formatted will generate few sales if the subject matter is of little or no interest to buyers. To find profitable subjects, visit the larger forums like Warrior Forum and Digital Point. Look for posts that have huge numbers of page views and replies. These are the subjects that people are interested in. Take notes and learn. After you have isolated four or five potential subjects, do a search on these potential subjects. Make sure you find a number of similar products that are being offered for sale.

For that reason, it is absolutely imperative that you write ebooks that have wide mass-market appeal. Many experts advise you to write about subjects that interest you. This advice will result in poor ebook sales almost every time. You have to write ebooks on subjects that OTHERS are interested in. That is the way to generate consistent, profitable results.

Start out by visiting the sales pages of these competing products. Check their Alexa ranking. The lower the Alexa ranking, the more popular the site. If all of the sites have Alexa ratings in excess of 5 million, you may want to find another subject. Next check their Google Page Rank. This system ranks sites from 0 to 10. The larger the number, the more popular the site. Look for Page Ranks in excess of 3 or 4. This is usually an indication that the page is getting good traffic numbers.

Once you have isolated a good subject, you should begin to assemble your research for your ebook. Make sure you provide comprehensive step-by-step information in your ebook. Instead of saying, “use an FTP program to upload files to your website,” tell them exactly how to use an FTP program. Give them detailed instructions on how to use it every step of the way. Provide links and let them know where they can get the software free if free versions are available. This is the type of ebook that will become a best seller. Never skimp on the information that you provide your readers.

By following the techniques above, you can write best selling ebooks over and over. Who knows, with your new ebook writing skills, you may become the next millionaire Guru.

Buy an eBook and you wont need any more Bookshelves

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Peter James is one author who recognized the possibilities of electronic books long ago. His techno-thriller Host’ was the first novel to be released on floppy disk back in 1995 and he has long been an advocate of technology catching up with the paperback.
There’s nothing sacrosanct about the printed word. The paperback is a ludicrously ineffective device. It’s too bulky. Besides the portability advantage paperbacks aren’t environmentally friendly, and a vast percentage of them get pulped. If you can see every single word that’s ever been written on one computer screen, then it’s evidently more efficient.
There’s a lot to be said for every book being stored digitally as well as on paper. Not only would it be ecologically friendly, but also no book would ever go out of print. Imagine if the great Library of Alexandria had been downloaded to disk before it got burnt down; or, less fancifully, if textbooks were available as ebooks, allowing them to be durable, instantly annotated and easily updated. This version of preserving the mind bogglingly vast number of books that have been published beyond their paper incarnations is perhaps the most important factor in the evolution of ebooks.
However, even if schoolchildren in 20 years are using super resolution ebooks instead of traditional hardbacks, it still won’t mean the end of the book as we know it. It’s a variant of the death of the book’ argument that’s often leveled at the Internet, and is as palpably untrue. Far from killing off the printed word, the Net has been helping it.
Authors are discovering that setting up their own Web sites helps them stay in contact with readers, not have to rely on their publishers for precious promotional funds and significantly boost their sales.
Skeptics always see the advent of fresh technologies as a face-off between the old and the new, when it’s increasingly obvious that the two tend to co-exist happily. The Net and the printed word are feeding off one another, and it’s precisely this cozy relationship that ebooks hope to emulate.
Patricia le Roy’s The Angels of Russia’ was allowed to compete for the Booker Prize in 1998, a first for a digital title. Such has been the interest in le Roy’s book that it was published as a paperback, bringing the relationship of books and ebooks full circle. That’s the plan, anyway.
In 2001 Microsoft entered the digital book publishing business. Microsoft is sensibly pushing for an open ebook standard, so that all the different machines can read the same texts. Microsoft is essentially trying to stop the sort of technology war that happened between the x2 and k56flex modem standards. Microsoft’s clear type technology, available in Windows XP/Vista triples the resolution of anything previously available on a computer screen.
With Microsoft onboard, it looks as if the future of ebooks in one shape or another is assured. It’s the Net that has done more to popularize the idea of reading from a screen than anything else and it’s also the Net that will ensure that, whatever ebooks turn out to be in the future, we’ll be able to get hold of any available text, anywhere. Just as the Net is helping the sales and distribution of real books, so it’ll help ebooks preserve all our literary yesterdays.

Develop an effective email marketing campaign

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

How do you develop an effective email marketing campaign? After all, what you send to your customers is very important. If it isn’t well designed or professional looking the results could be damaging to your business instead of beneficial.

The first part of the email marketing campaign needs to include your goals. What do you expect to achieve from your email marketing campaign? Who do you want to reach? You should also decide what type of marketing you are going to do. Will it be random discounts and promotions, seasonal, or will you be sending a regular newsletter? Next you will need to do some research. Do you know the email marketing laws? What are the current market trends? How are you going to make your email marketing campaign more appealing than that of the competition? You have to have these goals clearly defined and outlined. Otherwise your will just spin your wheels while developing your email marketing campaign.

Since the goals of many businesses are very different, the strategies they use in email marketing will also be very different. While this gives each business the ability to be creative and unique in developing their marketing campaign, it also makes it difficult because there are no clear cut answers. If you aren’t skilled in developing email marketing campaigns you will need to purchase email marketing software or hire an email marketing consultant.

How well do you know your customer? I hope well because this is a very important part of developing an effective email marketing campaign. You have to be able to address your key audience by providing them with relevant information. If they aren’t interested in what you have to say then it doesn’t matter how many emails you manage to send out.

Once you have decided on your email marketing campaign you may think you are ready to hit the send button, but hold on just a little bit longer. Make sure everything in the email is spelled correctly and grammatically correct. Nothing looks more unprofessional than an email marketing campaign will errors. They will stick out like a sore thumb. Remember to test the effectiveness of the email on the various email service providers as they all have variations. You will be disappointed to discover that subscribers to a particular service weren’t able to open your email for it to read properly.

Make sure the subject line of your email is clear and effective. This will help your email marketing campaign to get past the various spam filters and virus protectors. Many researchers of email marketing believe the subject line will make or break the reader’s decision to open your email. Make sure you personalize the email and address it to the consumer rather than a broad introduction.
You will want to attach a clear expiration date to your email marketing promotion. Nothing motivates the consumer than having a deadline. They don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to take advantage of what you are offering.

Email marketing is a great opportunity for you to communicate with your customers and to promote your business. It is very important that you take the time to set your goals and to know the market before you develop your email marketing campaign.

This will ensure it is successful. While you want your email marketing strategy to be unique and creative you need to keep the wants and needs of the customer in mind. You can choose to develop your email marketing strategy on your own, using software, or by hiring a consultant.

Is Smart Pricing, And Why Does It Exist In This Pay-Per-Click System

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

If you are like me and you make a decent portion of your monthly income from Google’s Adsense program, then you want to make sure that you are making as much money as possible with every single click. The funny thing is, many Adsense publishers are leaving alot of money on the table because their account is suffering from something called a smart pricing penalty.

So what is smart pricing, and why does it exist in this pay-per-click system in the first place? In order to understand what smart pricing is and why it exists, think back why a search engine would offer sponsored links in the first place. If you have a popular search engine and thousands of people search for the term ‘investing’ every single day, if your business is offering investment advice then people searching for that term would be very interested in what you are offering.

That is the purpose of the Adwords program in the first place: to connect people’s websites to interested visitors. However, this can be done with more than just links next to search listings. There are probably many different investment websites out there, and when they sign up for the Adsense program then the sponsored links appear on those sites and blogs (called the content network) as well as next to relevant search listings. But when a visitor clicks on a link from a related website as opposed to doing a search directly in Google, is that visitor going to perform as well for the advertiser (i.e. be likely to take action, whether it is buying or signing up as a lead)? Probably not, and this is where smart pricing comes in.

The purpose of smart pricing for Adsense is to identify websites and blogs that are not of the highest quality, because traffic and clicks coming from these sites tends to be much lower performing for advertisers. When a website (possibly yours) is targeted to be smart priced, you will see a marked reduction in your Adsense earnings as Google has decided to charge their advertisers less for the clicks that come from your site.

Is it possible to prevent smart pricing? Yes it is, and I will show you how. Let me say though that I am not affiliated with Google and I do not know the exact ways on which the smart pricing algorithm works. I am speaking from my own experience, but I do know that my methods are effective at preventing smart pricing because it is typical for me to see clicks that pay out 1 dollar or more and that simply cannot happen if you are subject to this penalty.

Methods to Avoid the Smart pricing Penalty

Just as with search engine optimization, there are two main categories that you need to focus on in order to prevent smart pricing: on-site and off-site. The on-site factors are much easier to control and have the largest impact, so focus on these aspects first and then move on to off-site factors.

Here is a list of the things that you will want to include on your site: a clear privacy policy, a ‘contact’ or ‘contact us’ link, a ‘bookmark us’ link, terms of use, and depending on the nature of your site you may also want to include an informational disclaimer. It would probably be the best to include this information in a small bar that is at the bottom of each page. It will really make you site stand out and look professional in the eyes of the Google media bot.

another on-site factor that you will not want to ignore is a consistent page layout as well as a coherent internal linking structure. When you link to pages within your own site, make sure you are consistent in the way that you structure the links, and focus on making it as easy as possible for somebody to navigate through your site. In terms of off-site factors, this is a little bit more out of your control but it is pretty simple. Basically you will just want to make sure that most of your links come from legitimate and relevant sites, and you will not want to participate in any programs like traffic exchanges of paid-to-surf programs.

How can you boost traffic with new Viral Ebooks

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

A proven technique in viral marketing is the use of Ebooks which include your marketing message and are willingly passed on to others. This method uses the multiplication effect to “explode” the distribution of your message by willing participants.

The basic principle was used by Hotmail to get established. When the two founders set up their free email system, all the messages that were sent by subscribers had a text message at the bottom which identified Hotmail as the origin. People would send emails to their friends, who would be tempted to set up hotmail accounts and send emails to their friends…

Within a short time, Hotmail had 22 million subscribers. They eventually sold out to Microsoft for about $400 million.

Using viral ebooks as a marketing method is:

a. Cheap. It doesn’t take long to set up. It’s even quicker if you use rebrandable ebooks that have been produced by others. Just do a search on Google and you’ll soon find many rebrandable ebooks that are available in your field of expertise. One distribution method is to offer these ebooks to visitors in exchange for subscribing to your newsletter. If they also pass it on, then others will promote your business for you.

b. Capable of reaching a large audience by geometrical progression, limited only by the enthusiasm of the participants.

c. Effectively combined with other forms of promotion.

d. A means of selling other products than the one you originally targeted. For instance, if you are selling garden products, those interested in flowers could also be interested in a catalogue that contains material on lawns, trees, landscaping, garden tools, etc.

e. Fairly easy to create. It’s possible to produce your own ebooks by combining articles that you’ve written or have obtained from public domain sources, such as directories. An increasingly common approach is to use material that has Private Label Rights, including articles and reports that have been written specifically for that purpose, for that niche. You could also use as a viral ebook a portion of a larger work that you’ve prepared, such as the first three chapters of a larger ebook.

f. Effective at building your reputation if you distribute a quality product that users are willing to pass on to others, as this is an implied recommendation.

Whatever the subject matter, the ebook should be of significant value and free – or of very low cost in relation to its perceived value. But usually it is free and easy to pass on.

Many ebooks also combine very well with an affiliate program. When the affiliate receives some extra benefit from promoting the viral message, such as being able to brand your ebook with his affiliate links, the affiliate makes a sale when a reader buys through a branded link. You benefit from the increased traffic to your website because the affiliate is willing to promote the ebook for you!

Be sure your message includes a clear call to action. There should be no doubt about what you intend recipients to do. Offer clear instructions so that recipients know HOW to act. As well, the action you require should be simple and obvious. Don’t complicate it or confuse the reader, such as by adding numerous links. Remember the K.I.S.S. principle: Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Finally, the INCENTIVE should be clear to those you want to act. Readers will linger over your offering for only a few seconds before they move on. If it takes too long to work out, if your message is vague or difficult to understand, chances are you will lose them. If you don’t respect your readers enough to express your message clearly, they will lose interest.

Viral Marketing with ebooks is but one of many techniques that together have a cumulative effect in attracting customers and subscribers to your business – in attracting targeted visitors to your website. You’ll soon find that this is an excellent way of increasing sales, subscribers and referrals.

Can Book Giveaways Hurt Sales

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

As an author and publisher, I have attended a number of Internet chats in support of eBook and print book releases. Internet chats are largely informal, hosted either by the publisher or a third-party website (usually a site for book reviews), where authors and readers can interact, ask questions and have fun. Look around some of the popular book review websites, particularly those which focus on romance fiction, and you will find chats are scheduled almost daily. Some eBook publishers, for example, host regular monthly chats to keep readers up to date.

Whether or not the chats do anything to stimulate sales is up for debate. At best, most freeware chat rooms used by such sites can host a maximum of twenty to thirty people, and publishers often have to be wary to see if the majority of chatters are the authors. Personal experience has seen scheduled chats comprised mainly of authors, chatting with each other! While it is beneficial to offer these promotional opportunities, it hardly does a publisher good if readers do not come.

That said, incentives are usually offered to fill the chat rooms with readers. Authors may give away a prize to one lucky reader, like a small gift or a free book. The question of whether or not it is prudent to distribute complimentary books as prizes has long been argued among authors, particularly in the eBook industry.

Some authors condone the practice on the premise that a book in the hands of a reader may encourage that reader to buy more books. Especially if the book is part of a series, the reader may wish to collect the entire set. Using a book as the proverbial carrot, too, may guide readers to the author’s website, where they may find titles appealing enough to purchase. Also, an author seen as being so generous may develop a following in a faithful readership that will benefit them in the long run.

On the other hand, such generosity may backfire, according to other authors who condemn the practice. When you consider the tightly knit readership of eBooks, particularly in the romance genre, authors may tend to see the same Internet nicknames populating chats. If word gets around enough that free books are the prizes, an author might soon discover that he or she is giving away her entire catalog to the same readers without seeing any profits. An author can feel frustrated with the practice, and wonder if such regular contest winners will ever buy his/her book.

Of course, an author might feel obligated to give away something, and not upset the readers. Word of mouth is still the most effective method of promotion, and for an author to gain a reputation for being difficult or stingy can be damaging to future sales. Should an author feel trapped, however? The answer is an emphatic no.

There are ways to successfully offer giveaways without giving away everything. While gifts like soaps, teas, and other trinkets can add up over time (though they are tax-deductible, authors, make notes!), there is one giveaway trick that can help stimulate sales. The next time you participate in a chat, write a one to two-thousand word story that reads as a supplement to your novel.

It could be a sequel, a prequel, or a side story with supporting characters. Have it formatted as in eBook in HTML or PDF and offer it as an exclusive prize to one winner. The gesture may influence the winning reader to buy the corresponding book, and your other titles. As time goes on and you write more novels, you can offer these short tidbits to entice readers to sample your work, then buy! This way you are giving away a story, but not every story.

Give it a try, and watch your readership grow.

MySpace is adding Cursors and Icons to enhance Your MySpace Pages

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

If you want to liven things up a little bit on your MySpace pages, you can change the generic profile pages which come with your new MySpace account. You can customize the backgrounds of your pages as well as the layout, and the graphics. You can even add things like MySpace cursors and icons which can only enhance your MySpace pages even more.

And just as you will find that the backgrounds, layouts, graphics and animations needed to make your MySpace pages look good, are free. So too will you find that for the most part MySpace cursors are also free. This makes your job of finding new and interesting ways of enlivening your MySpace pages interesting and easy to boot!

For instance, if you want to change your MySpace pages to reflect the seasons, or even your moods, you can change not only the background and the graphics of your MySpace pages, but you can also change your MySpace cursors to match the overall theme.

It is excruciatingly easy to add MySpace cursors to your profile page, and if you’ve already been through the exercise of changing and customizing your profile page, you will find that to add the MySpace cursors to your page you just need to use the same basic rules.

Find a website that offers free cursors (make sure that it is free and that you don’t have to pay anything!). You might think that this may be too “cute” for words and avoid getting any MySpace cursors at all, but if you really think about it, you will find that it can only enhance your MySpace pages, not detract from them. And since not everyone has gone to the extent of including any MySpace cursors on their pages, you are bound to get some sort of reply, even if it is in the form of razzing from your friends! Go through the various different cursors that they probably have littering their pages.

Preview the cursor to see if it looks good (you will generally be provided with a method of doing this so that you don’t have to forever be changing your MySpace cursors codes).

After that, if you like it, you can copy the code which will be provided, normally to be found alongside of, or nearby each of the MySpace cursors. Next you will need to log in to your MySpace account and go to the profile edit section where you can then paste the MySpace cursors code that you copied earlier, into one of the editable textboxes.

Tamil Historic Novels

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

The novel form of Tamil literature has been in existence only since around two centuries.

Before that, the poetry form used to rule the roost for nearly two thousand years. Novel is a relatively new genre in Tamil literature but is very popular among the Tamil novel readers. The novel format was made popular by legendary writers like Kalki Krishnamurthy, Vai. Mu. Kothainayaki, Lakshmi, Na. Parthasarathy etc.  The novel form has given us several others.   The historic novels by Kalki, Akilan, Sandilyan and Na. Parthasarathy were enjoyed by the Tamil readers for their skillful depiction of the historic, social and cultural aspects of the bygone era.  These novels are no less than priceless treasures for the Tamil people of even successive generations. Here is a bird’s eye view of some of the famous historic novels.

Historical novels by Kalki

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is a novel set in the Chola period and brings out the social and political situation that prevailed during that era.   The imaginary characters and events blend well into the historic events.  He could even blend humour and satire into the actual events. His description of the kings and the wars they fought and their aspirations and dreams for their country and people.  The stories were full of twists and turns that captured the imagination of the reading public.  ‘Sivagamiyin Sabhatham’ is his masterpiece, romantic novel set in the Pallava dynasty’s reign over south India. ‘Parthiban Kanavu’ is the story of Chola prince Vikkiraman who fulfills the dream of his father Parthiban, the Chola king to re-establish the Chola kingdom and freeing it from the Pallava ruler Narasimha Varma Pallavan.

Akilan

Akilan’s ‘Kayalvizhi’ is a gripping saga set in the Pandiya kingdom background.  His other novels include ‘Vengayin Maindhan’, ‘Kanni Maadam’ and ‘Vettri Thirunagar.’ ‘Vengayin Mainthan’ has won the Sahitya Academy Award in 1963. ‘Vettri Thirunagar’ depicts the life of Viswanatha Nayaka of Vijaya Nagar who was the founder of the Nayakas. He played a major role in integrating the country.

Na Parthasarathy

Popularly known as ‘Deepam’ Parthasarathy, after the name of the Tamil magazine he edited, his novels ‘Paandimaa Devi’, ‘Rani Mangammal’ and ‘Manipallavam’ are very popular. Paandimaa Devi depicts the glorious Tamil culture and philosophy. The novel is a story of the Pandian ruler the third Rasa Simma Pandiyan.

Vikkiraman

‘Vanthiyathevan Vaal’ by Vikkiraman is a novel set in Raja Raja Chola period. He has penned some interesting novels like ‘Kulothungan Kanavu’, ‘Raja Rajan Sabhatham’, ‘Aalavai Arasi’ and ‘Vathapi Vijayam’ which are very popular.

Kovi Manisekaran

‘Kollippaavai’, ‘Naaga Nandhini’, ‘Vengai Vanam’, ‘Sera Sooriyan’ and ‘Ilavarasi Mohanangi’ are famous novels by Kovi. Manisekaran serialized in Tamil Magazines.

Ra Ki Rangarajan

‘Naan Krishnadevarayan’ by Ra. Ki. Rangarajan is a story woven around Vijayanagaram and as seen by the king Krishnadeva Rayan.

Sandilyan

His novels are historic romance with lots of adventure laced into them.  Most of them are set in the times of the Chola kingdom.  His novels also describe the political situations prevailing in south India and the conflict with the other countries across the seas. ‘Yavana Rani’ is about a Greek Princess who is saved by Ilanchezhiyan, from the Chola Empire.  ‘Kadal Pura’ is another novel about the army commander of Chola king Rajendra II and the princess of Sumatra.

The Great Tamil Poet – Subramanya Bharathiar

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

‘Bharathiyar’ is the name that reminds Indians of nationalism, patriotism and Tamil prose and poetry. Born in 1882 he was conferred the title of ‘Bharati’ for his poetic talent at a tender age. Bharati emerged as a prolific poet earning the name of ‘Mahakavi’, meaning a Great Poet. He died at the age of 39 but in his short span of life he had made immeasurable contribution to his country and language.

Life of a patriot

He lived in the eventful years of our country’s freedom struggle. He had met his contemporaries who influenced his political thinking like Mahatma Gandhi, Tilak, Sister Nivedita, Aurobindo Gosh, VVS Iyer and Lajpat Roy. The Tamil poet and writer’s life itself is a shining example of upholding the spirit of freedom, equality, justice and love despite poverty and against the oppressive British rule. He was the assistant editor of ‘Swadesamithran’ a Tamil daily from 1904 to 1907. He launched ‘India’ the Tamil weekly of which he was the editor and later edited a newspaper ‘Bala Bharatam’ in English. He had a turbulent life laced with living in exile, arrest, being jailed amidst abject poverty. He resumed as editor of Swadesamithran a year before his death in 1921.

Social reformist

His lofty dreams about our society and the country came out brilliantly in his songs and prose. He had the uncanny ability of using his literary skills to the best to kindle the patriotic feelings of the masses and about the evils of the society which caused all their problems.

Patriot

He proudly proclaims that the there is no other country in the world can equal the greatness of India which has the Himalyan mountains, the sacred river Ganges and the Upanishads in his song “Mannum Imaya malai’ and ‘paarukkule nalla naadu’. He is equally proud about the Richness and sweetness of the Tamil language in his lines ‘yamarindha mozhiugalile’. He proclaims with equal pride the richness and uniqueness of the Tamil language.

Advocating Freedom and Casteless society

He fearlessly wrote about freedom for individuals as wells as nations being influenced by ‘Vande Mataram’ the patriotic song by Bankim Chandra. These meetings have injected fearlessness into his writing. Considering this to be a divine inspiration he went on to write revolutionary compositions that were packed with national unity and the spirit of freedom His songs brought a spiritual dimension to the freedom movement. ‘Swathesa Geethangal’ and ‘Janma Bhoomi’ which he dedicated to sister Nivedita are examples of his patriotic songs and serving the underprivileged and emancipation of women. They were distributed to the people during the freedom movement of India. His dreams of a free India and a society that is educated, devoid of its social evils and living in harmony. We can see that many of his dreams have come true today. His writings when he was in exile in Puduchery were so powerful that the British even jailed him.

His songs for the children in ‘Paappa Paattu’ and ‘Pudhiya Aathichoodi’ evoked a sense of equality, love towards all living beings, casteless society and courage etc. His simple words convey the ethical and moral principles to the young minds effortlessly. His unique style was simple with a technique of weaving the spoken language and rhythm into beautiful prose and poetry.

The literary genius Bharati has made an indelible mark in the minds of crores of Tamil people through his writings that included novels, short stories, essays and poetry.

Kalki – The Legendary Tamil Novelist

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

The mere mention of the name ‘Kalki’ is enough to send most the Tamil readers of yesteryears into a journey of nostalgia.  Kalki is a name that sparks off memories of kingdoms and the saga of war, patriotism, love and loyalty that go into the making and perishing of those kingdoms in the Chola dynasty period in South India.

Those who have read the novels by Kalki would instantly go into a nostalgic voyage of the scenes as depicted by Kalki at the very mention of his name.  I am one of those who had a chance to read a few of his novels.  I love his unique way of making us envision the events in our minds.

The beauty of nature and the fertile and colourful countryside, the thoughts running in the strategic minds, the expression of emotions and feelings running through the characters are brought out in clear detail. The vivid descriptions of every scene whether it is the preparation for war or a meeting between the two people in love, their conversations, the place and atmosphere and everything is so well crafted in his words.  The inimitable style and the deft handling of situations and characters in his novels leave us wonderstruck about this rare ability.

For many decades Kalki’s novels were the craze of Tamil readers about half a century ago. To name a few Kalki’s masterpieces were serialized in the Tamil magazines Ananda Vikatan and later on in Kalki.

My favorite is Kalki’s ‘Parthiban Kanavu’ which was later made as a good movie. This is the story of how Chola King Parthiban’s dream of re-establish the Chola kingdom which was in the clutches of Pallava king Narasimhavarman.  Parthiban expresses his dream to his son Vikraman who was very young and later gets killed. A monk vows to Parthiban that he would make Vikraman fulfill his dream. Vikraman after growing up and falls in love with a beauty under mysterious circumstances; he later fulfills his father’s dream of an Independent Chola with Uraiyur as Capital.

A series of gripping incidents follow in the intervening period depicting extraordinary courage, deceit, loyalty, suspense and mystery.  The identity of the monk is revealed in the thrilling climax.  One cannot help marveling at the strong characterization, sequence of events and the suspense throughout the entire novel with such lucidity that simply transports us to that era.

Kalki whose real name is R.Krishnamurthi is known to the vast population of Tamil readers as a well known novelist who wrote both historic and social novels.  But he has to his credit novels, short stories, travelogues, biographies and essays contributing to all many types of Tamil literature.

He has brought a breath of fresh air into Tamil literary scene with his ability to infuse our social life and culture of our country in his characters and events, with realism. He was gifted with writing natural humour flowing through his writings making readers enjoy his writings and read them again and again. Being a patriot himself, he was able to portray patriotic fervor in his characters.

Kalki’s novels Thiaga Boomi, Magudapathi, Apalayin Kannir, Alasi Osai, Devakiyin Kanavan, Kalvanin Kadhali etc. and many more appeared as serial stories and later were published as books. It will not be an exaggeration to say that Kalki was the pioneer of historical novels in Tamil.

Vasantha

I have been avid reader of Tamil Novels and Stories and most types of Tamil literature. I had the opportunity to read and enjoy the works of legendary writers in the Tamil literary scene in the sixties and seventies. I have enjoyed the variety of style, themes, depiction of society and culture and the narration by different authors form the reader’s point of view. You can download and read ‘Parthiban Kanavu’ now from Sangapalagai.com.

Tamil Short Stories

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

The short story format originated from Europe. The Tamil world believes that the short stories in Tamil can be traced back to the seventeenth century to ‘Paramartha Kurunkathai’ a transition from the classical Tamil poetry. V.V.S. Iyer started a new trend in the 1880s giving the short stories its profound form.

Pudumaipithan started the next stage of Tamil short stories and many other writers came out with brilliant stories in Tamil. Pudumaipithan, Ku.Pa. Ra and P.S.Ramaiya and their contemporaries have written many stories that is today popular format with the Tamil literary circles and readers as the short story format.

Pudumaipithan

Pudumaipithan’s stories carried messages for the society. His sincerely expressed his concern for the society and depicted the misery as well as drama in our lives. He wrote about the human relationships, their aspirations and life in general looked at closely. His ‘Ponnagaram’ was considered beyond the grasp of readers. He dealt with a wide array of subjects in his stories while also experimenting with the art of story telling. His writing included sarcasm and wit and the stories appeared natural and realistic. The examples like ‘Kodukkapuli Maram’ and ‘Naasakkaara Gumbal’ bring out the above qualities of his writing. He has deftly used the dialects of Madras or Tirunelveli in his stories as appropriate. His writings reflected the influence of foreign writers like Maupassant, Nathaniel Hawthorne and others in the western world. He has penned over 150 short stories in Tamil.

T.Janakiraman

T.Janakiraman’s short stories brought the vagaries in the lives of people wonderfully and people could identify them with the characters.

Jayakanthan

Jayakanthan had written many outstanding stories some of which went on to be filmed later on. Most of his stories were published by Ananda Vikatan. While working in the office of ‘Janasakthi’ he developed a liking for Tamil literature and writing in Tamil. His stories were mostly about the people from the people living in the slums or extremely poor people.

N.Pichamoorthy

N.Pichamoorthy is a well known writer of Tamil short stories. ‘Mannasai’ is one of his popular short stories.

Sujatha

Sujatha is the pen name of S.Rangarajan who has written over 100 Tamil novels and 250 short stories in Tamil. His style of writing earned him a wide readership. His science fiction is said to be a pioneering work in Tamil. He could unravel science in his own inimitable simple words that can be understood by all. ‘Aathma’ is a short story which is a thrilling narration of a day in a computer engineer’s life. Suri had made the computer the ability to predict the future giving it a set of rules that can observe the planetary positions. To test its efficacy he gives his birth details and the computer instantly gives the output on the screen. That turns out to be his death sentence, in a way. He was going to die that same night exactly at 23:11:59. So healthy and full of life, he could not believe it and does random checks in hurry. The story ends with the arrival of the inevitable moment. Sujatha’s stories were published in popular Tamil magazines like Kumudam, Ananda Vikatan and Kalki.

Your Fast Track To Sales And Profits

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Writing articles, and promoting them for publication, is one of the most productive long-term promotional tactics available. Well researched and written articles… which provide valuable, useable information are highly sought after by newsletter publishers, magazines, ezines, etc.

It is a marketing truth that “Content Is King”. Good, keyword rich, content is what drives online traffic through search engines and gives the visitor a reason to keep coming back to a website. This is often referred to as “sticky content”. As a traffic-generation tool it is unsurpassed.

Webmasters and publication editors have an insatiable appetite for tightly written “niched” articles that are relevant to their web sites or publications themes.

This need is your opportunity…

An editor of an ezine, newsletter or magazine has a never-ending need for good content. Each issue they publish must be filled with useful, relevant content that will appeal to their readers or subscribers self-interest. A publication that cannot provide great content will not long survive.

“An editor of an ezine, newsletter or magazine has a never-ending need for good content.”

By regularly supplying the media with well written articles, you build a never-ending supply of links and traffic to your own websites.

How?…

Well, the secret is in the bio. Each article you submit for publication has your own “authors bio” that gives full attribution and links to your site. This is the payment you receive for having supplied the articles… it is a payment which gives you long-term dividends!

Not only will your article be presented to many thousands of subscribers initially… but those same articles (with your bio and links) will be archived on the publications websites. Those archived articles become fodder for search engines which not only provide on-going traffic to the publishing site… but to YOU as well. It is truly a Win/Win proposition.

NOT A WRITER?… NO PROBLEM…

There are countless freelance writers who will “ghost write” articles for you and… giving you the copyrights. I know of many well-known names in the industry who have articles plastered all over the internet…and they have never written a word themselves. I know this because I have written some of their articles. :-)

If you need such services try elance or do a Google search for “ghost writing” or “freelance writers”. There are many highly educated, english speaking, foreign-based professionals who will write articles for very nominal fees.

OK… YOU HAVE AN ARTICLE… NOW WHAT?

Having a good article is only the first part of the equatiion… now you need to get the articles distributed to those editors and publications who will welcome your contribution… and publish your work.

There are three primary means of promoting your articles:

==> Article Directories

==> Article Announcment Lists

==> Your Internal List

==> Paid Distributiion Services & Software

Learn Water Damage Repair simple tricks

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

As millions of people have discovered, water damage can be a disaster whether it is due to natural causes like flooding or a broken pipe. Learn what to do when water damage strikes with these simple steps.

1. Turn off the power. Water and electricity don’t mix. Shut down the electricity to all impacted areas. If you aren’t sure, then err on the side of caution and turn off power at the main breaker.

2. Locate the source. Sometimes it is easy to locate the source of the water; for instance, in a flood. Other times it can be more than a little difficult since leaky pipes or other problems can drip into different areas. If the source isn’t easily spotted consider calling a professional to assist. It might save you a lot of time and money on repairs.

3. Extract the water. If you are without power, a gasoline powered pump may be required. Be sure to keep it outside as it will give off dangerous fumes inside a home. Water extraction should take place as soon as possible to avoid the growth of mold and mildew.

4. Move to higher ground. Sometimes it is necessary to remove furniture or other belongings to prevent further damage from taking place. In fact, heavily damaged areas may require evacuation to preserve the health of your family. If in doubt, err on the side of caution and consult with professionals as to whether or not it is safe to remain in your home.

5. Dry. Once the majority of the water has been removed it is time to dry out the rest of the house and belongings. High humidity can lead to the growth of mold and mildew that can ruin furniture, carpeting and the air quality of your home if not promptly addressed.

6. Repair. After the situation is stabilized it is time to take stock to see what can be repaired and what needs to be tossed. Dirty water like that from a flood or sewage leak can quickly contaminate everything it comes into contact with requiring extensive repairs ranging from drywall to new carpeting.

When searching for a professional Phoenix water damage repair, phoenix water restoration, phoenix flood damage services, consider a full service provider like Kiwi Services that specialize in all phases of water damage and repair with just one call; they will be able to assist in filing insurance claims and other forms to help with compensation.

List the elements that make up a good affiliate program

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

The number of affiliate programs out there is as numerous as the number of affiliates clamoring to sign up for them. With many available to choose from, it’s difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. You want to make sure that the affiliate program you choose is right for you and for your bank account. It certainly pays to consider the following elements that make up a good affiliate program.

The main thing that makes the difference between a good affiliate program and a poor one is the product itself. You are in a good affiliate program when you have an up-to-date, high quality product as opposed to a dated, cheap imitation product of poor quality. An up-to-date product is one that has evolved with the ever-changing marketplace. It’s one that is available for upgrading or has enhancements that meet the demands of today’s consumers.

A poor affiliate program has products that are current if you’re transporting yourself back to the 90′s or whatever. They are products of the ‘same old, same old’ ilk and are a sign of a company stuck in a rut when it comes to innovation and growing with their market. An example would be an affiliate software product that is well behind others in terms of published updated versions and capabilities.

A good affiliate program manager knows their market precisely. A poor affiliate program won’t have any idea, or only a vague idea, which comprises their customer base. Align yourself with an affiliate program that knows exactly who their products help. When they know their niche, you can target your affiliate marketing efforts to that niche.

Target them properly through article writing, article marketing and article distribution. Ensure that you send articles to the proper niche publishers to get your content in front of the eyes that need to read them.

An affiliate program that has no clue as to who their target market is will not provide you the necessary knowledge needed to market effectively. You will perform hit and miss marketing in hopes that someone will take notice of your product. Good affiliate program managers that know their market exactly will provide you with the tools needed to speak to that market effectively.

Another element of a good affiliate program is the commitment to back up products with warranties, guarantees and customer support. As an affiliate marketer, associate yourself with companies that stand behind their product. If you are featuring an affiliate product on your website and encouraging click backs to it from your articles, you want a reputable product. You don’t want article readers to click back to your site and buy a product that has no company support behind it. If they have problems with the product and receive no satisfactory solution your name takes a hit.

This has long-term effects for your affiliate business. People will not return as repeat customers and will tell others to avoid your site as well. A poor affiliate program offers no product guarantees, warranties, or customer support. They are those programs where you buy and then have trouble getting in touch with anyone from the company once the sale is final. Stay away from those affiliate programs.

An affiliate program that encourages customer interaction is a good affiliate program. A company that has faith in their product will have a website that encourages questions and offer a vehicle for discussing the product with other users and company representatives. Again, a poor affiliate program hides from their customers and make it difficult for them to interact. That’s because they sell an inferior product and know it. A good affiliate program encourages phone calls, e-mails, on-line chat and the like from customers. Some even establish online communities for users of their products worldwide.

Involve yourself with a reputable affiliate program that knows where it’s going and is excited about taking you there with them. Choose one that’s customer-focused and actively trying to form a connection with their target market. When you join an affiliate program that knows their market, you can perform article writing and marketing that aims straight for that market. You can then begin your dialogue with them for greater affiliate marketing success.

Coach Tours And IMG: Why They Are A Perfect Combination

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Coach tours can mean a lot of things—it could spell fun, excitement, nature, outdoors, sightseeing, relaxation, vacation, and the list goes on. If you’re going to summarize everything, though, it means that coach tours offer pleasure and comfort. That’s why, it’s important that you only get to pick the right one—the motor coach that can offer you these intangible benefits.

IMG and Coach Tours

When it comes to coach tours, there is only one company that you can trust: IMG, or the International Motor Group. This is a company that is composed of different transport providers and operators found all over the world, such as in the UK. With this alone, you know that availing of a coach tour will never pose any problem.

Here are some more benefits:

1. You can cover a lot of the best vacation spots in any country. The coach tour can go as far as the countryside of London or the Big Apple or Mount Rushmore. This means that it can travel to far distances, allowing you to fully maximize your payment for such a trip.

2. They have great connections to different parts of the world. The IMG company operates in all of the major cities and countries all over the world. You can find them in UK and other parts of Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, and South America. If you’re inter-traveling, which means you’re moving from one location to another, you can just allow IMG branches to coordinate with one another and provide you with the transportation that you need.

3. They can set up packages for you. Besides being a network of independent transport service providers and operators, IMG also has affiliations to a variety of hotels, airlines, rail lines, and even cruises. If you’re planning an all-out vacation for the team or for your class, the company can set up coach tours for you, which can already include hotel accommodation, airport transfers, and sightseeing tours. This way, the trip becomes more economical and practical.

4. You can transfer the coach tour package to others. If, for any reason, you can’t go on with the planned coach tour, you can always transfer it to somebody else, provided that the tour operator belongs to IMG. If you want to make a confirmation, you can always call the customer support of the company. This is to make sure that your investment will not be put to waste.

5. You will only get nothing but the best-rate coaches all over UK. The buses used in motor coach tours are considered to be first-rate. There are reclining and cushioned seats, air-conditioning system, entertainment facilities, a no-smoking area, and other amenities, which can guarantee comfortable and luxurious traveling. They also come in different seating capacities, so there’s no way that you can get stuck to one that hardly sits all of you.

Coach tours with IMG are always pleasant simply because the company exerts a lot of effort in making their customers happy. Hence, if you are searching for maximum comfort during your coach tours, all you need is to give IMG a ring.

You’re Key to Internet Marketing Success

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

The Internet is primarily two things. It’s a huge reference library with information of varying quality, free to anyone accessing it. And it’s the biggest marketing and advertising engine ever invented. You can take advantage of the enormous advertising potential of the Internet by using well-written and optimized content articles.

Content articles are the key to:
• Delivering good information to your customers
• Showing that you are the master of your topic
• Placing well on search engines
• Keeping your customers happy enough to come back

Good websites, laid out in a friendly way, with excellent and constantly fresh keyword-optimized content, are the ones that will wind up at the top of the search engine rankings. How can you own one of those websites? First, always have unique, friendly, keyword-rich content articles on your website. Spiders, web crawlers, and robots sound icky, but they’re really the tiny little engines that drive the Internet. They are constantly roaming the Web, looking for changes in pages they’ve cataloged, seeking keywords so that they can determine how to rank your page. If you have articles on the first and subsequent pages of your website, these electronic critters will go through them, seek out how often, say, “feather boa,” is mentioned on your website, and then catalog it according to that (and other variables).

Now, when a customer does a search at Google for “feather boa,” he or she will find your website ranked with others that offer this keyword. Free advertising, targeted to customers looking to your product – that’s what search engines really are to businesses. Always ensure your content is friendly to the customer, not just the web crawlers. Here’s the number-one mistake made by webmasters: they think about the web crawlers, but not about the proven fact that you have ten seconds, tops, to captivate your customer from the second they click your link. This means your page must download fast, it must have easy-to-find content, and it must be easy to read. And that’s all before you get to the quality of the content! Keep your pages skinny, without huge graphics and moving pictures. Keep them simple and attractive as well, without loads of heavy design.

And make sure the content is at the top, with plenty of headers and bullets to make it easy for your prospective customers to find what they’re looking for. Always keep content fresh. This may be the second most common mistake made by webmasters – putting content up, then sitting back and ignoring it. Web crawlers seek out fresh content, and sites that are always fresh get ranked higher. Also, the most valuable customer is a repeat customer. If you have captivated your customer by providing the perfect feather boa, and now he or she is looking for items to add to that boa, you aren’t doing yourself a favor if you have the same old information about using the feather boa as an everyday accessory.

Instead, you should have information about the shoes you’re also selling; or the sequined tops designed to go with the boas; or how to treat the boa so feathers don’t molt from it. If the customer never sees new information, they get tired really quickly, and go to the next person on the search engine listing. You’ve just lost a sale. Use reciprocal linking. Search engines are great, but what do they really do? They link to your site. An awful lot of web traffic, however, comes to people laterally – in other words, they find a link on one website leading to another, and it looks interesting so they click it. How do you do this without paying tons of money to advertise on other people’s sites? With reciprocal linking. You have the feather boa site.

Another website you frequent sells how-to videos on burlesque and bellydancing. Another is a teen fashion site, and you know feather boas have just become popular with teens. Yet another is a Phyllis Diller fansite. Set up a win-win situation. Email the webmasters of these other three sites to ask if they are interested in linking to the content on your site. Offer, in rinternet marketing eturn, to link to their sites from yours – ideally from inside content articles. You get three new links to your website, and they get mentions to your current customer base, from inside your articles. You all win in a different way, too. Search engines rank by keyword quality and freshness of articles. They also rank the number of links other sites have to yours, though. If you have fifty links to your site from other places and Bob the Boa Maker has only ten, guess who ranks higher, and thus is likely to get more traffic directed from search engines?

Motor Coach Hire: 4 Important Questions To Ask Before You Make A Choice

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Different strokes for different folks, they say. So when it comes to a motor coach hire, one that works for one may not actually do so much for you. That’s why before you even decide to strike a deal with a motor coach hire company, make sure that you’re confident and proud of the fact that you’ve made the right choice.

Questions to Ask before Getting a Motor Coach Hire

Coming up with a very good decision can be really hard, especially if you don’t know much about motor coach hires, or that you don’t know which one to pick among your choices. When you’re clouded with doubt, you can make use of the following questions:

1. What are the different motor coaches that you can avail of?

Motor coaches can differ based on the make, the amenities they contain, and, most of all, the number of passengers it can accommodate. It’s highly essential if you already have straight answers to these criteria, so it will become a lot easier for you to determine which kind of motor coach for hire you’re going to use for your trip.

2. What is the price, and what does it cover?

Prices vary across the different motor coach providers in the UK, so you may want to research on them more. Nevertheless, majority of the costs are related to the operations of the transport. This means that you will have to pay for the fuel, the wage of the driver, any toll and parking fees, and even board and lodging for the driver if you decide to stay overnight or for a number of days to your destination.

3. How do you cancel the rent?

There are reasons why you may have to let go of the motor coach hire. First, there could be an emergency within the company, school, or family, which may prevent you or a large number of participants from continuing the trip. It could also be that you’ve found a more ideal and cheaper motor coach for hire right after you’ve already paid.

There are few companies that would not mind returning you the full amount as long as you can inform them of the cancellation weeks before the actual use. This way, they still have more time to look for somebody else to rent it. However, a lot of them will have to ask for a cancellation fee, which could be a percentage of the paid amount.

4. What kind of technical support can you look forward to?

Accidents and breakdowns can happen. What’s important is that you can be provided with the right kind of support from the motor coach hire. Usually, the best ones such as IMG Coach come with a hotline that you can always call anytime of the day. They can easily assist you by sending a mechanic to your area. These companies will also train their drivers on how to properly maintain and repair the motor coach hire. This is to reduce the waiting time.

Marketing EBooks & Secrets of Publishing

Friday, September 19th, 2008

There are many eBook software programs on the market. I prefer to do mine in PDF format as they can be read on both PC and MAC computers. Remember to make your pages easy to read with some color, a few images and white space. The writing and actual formatting of an eBook is a whole other article that I am writing currently and hope to share with you soon.

After spending tons of money, several years and many-many hours online with my websites and eBook projects, I have gone through the ups and downs of the learning process of trying to sell eBooks both for myself and for others. One important choice you can make when just starting out is, are you going to sell the eBook or are you going to offer it for free to get your name out there with all your links and contact information. This is called “viral marketing” with the purpose of having as many people as possible sharing and downloading your eBook. You can even offer your free eBook to websites as a joint venture for them to offer your eBook as their free bonus with their sales.

The key things that you will need to sell your eBook online are:

A website or webpage of your own or offer your eBook to an eBook website that may take a small fee and / or include your eBook in an affiliate program- A good sales page about the eBook – A quality eBook Cover Image – Graphics are key! A “Thank You” Download page from where your eBook is downloaded- Other Marketing Considerations may include:

Offering a Free Bonus EBook – very important in this e-business to over deliver for the price! Set a budget to test some PPC (pay-per-click) Advertising such as Google Ads to drive traffic to your sales page- Exchange related links with quality websites with a good search engine ranking- Process a Press Release such as with PRWEB – Join eBook Forums and post messages with your eBook link- Take advantage of your email “Signature” to include your eBook Title and sales page link in addition to telling friends and family- Start a BLOG about your eBook topic and include the link to your eBook sales page.

The important factor is not to go wild with over-spending on marketing. Test-test-test and research online for many more ways to promote your eBook. The best advice I can give if this is your first eBook, is to start another eBook right away that either expands on the chosen subject or another topic that you have a passion for. Remember, you can either try to do all of this publishing and promoting yourself, you can share the tasks, or you can have a professional guide you and produce a satisfactory product for you while you spend your time and energy writing your next eBook!

Weight Loss Tips After Your Holidays.

Friday, September 19th, 2008

A holiday is a time when most of us let our hair down, eat and drink what we want without giving much thought to our weight or diet. Then we get back from our holiday and realise that we have put on a few pounds? Back on another diet yet again!

Don’t worry here are a few simple way to help you shed those unwanted pounds.

1. To Stop Cravings: When trying to stick to your diet you will not doubt at some point come across hunger cravings. Next time you do count to 10. Did you know that studies suggest the average hunger craving only lasts about 10 minutes. So when a hunger craving hits tackle something on your to do list and distract yourself from hunger cravings.

2. Salsa instead of Mayo: Instead of putting mayonnaise on top of your food, try salsa instead. Salsa provides plenty of flavour and is low in fat. If you are a tuna fan then mix some salsa with a bit of low fat yoghurt and add it to your salad. Salsa is also great on chicken or fish.

3. Water!: Thirst is often mistaken for hunger, so next time you feel like eating get hold of a glass of water first. Drinking water can also help you to feel full. Just sipping water before you sit down for a meal, and continual sipping of the water during the meal will add volume and weight to your meal making you feel full and less likely to eat a massive amount as you won’t want to.

4 Alcohol: Here is the obvious one. We all know that alcohol equals calories. A beer(12oz) contains 150 calories, glass(3.5oz) of wine 85 calories, don’t even look at the calorie content of a creamy cocktail. It’s not rocket science if you want to lose weight then you have to cut down or even better cut out alcohol.

Choosing the best eBook Compiler

Friday, September 19th, 2008

There are many different compilers to chose from, but first, you need to know exactly what an ebook Compiler does. Here is the simple explanation:

An ebook compiler is a software program that converts either text pages or HTML text into a single executable file or an ebook.

If you or someone you hired has created a file with graphics in HTML, you will need an HTML ebook Compiler. This type of compiler requires a working knowledge of the HTML tag language. You can also use software to do this for you, such as Microsoft FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver.

How do you choose an eBook Compiler?

There are a large number of ebook Compilers available on the market, all with glowing sales copy and tekkie language. It can get very confusing and overwhelming very fast without some simple guidelines to help you figure out which compiler is right for you.

Choosing an ebook Compiler depends on a number of factors:

1. How did you create your pages? Did you use HTML or PDF format? There are many more compilers available for HTML, but you can find some very good compilers that will covert your PDF files into an ebook.

2. Consider how easy the program is to use and the thoroughness of the software’s instruction manual. It is absolutely necessary that the compiler you buy have an instructional manual, documentation, or online “wizards.” If it doesn’t, your chances of figuring out how to correctly use the program are compromised, and the time required doing so is going to be significant. Many manufacturers of compilers offer a free trial version so you can play around with it and see if it suits your needs. Download the trial version and ascertain that it actually does what it claims to do.

3. Security features. If you plan to sell your ebook, check out the security features of the compiler software carefully. Security features should include: prevention of the reader from modifying text, access only to the pages you assign or by entering a password, different ways of generating passwords such as secure passwords, user-friendly, and open passwords.

4. Supported scripting. Find out what scripts the software supports. Scripting allows you to create special effects, customize menus, and create and modify other user interactivity. Choose a compiler that permits you to include graphics, search windows, hyperlinks, forms, surveys, etc.

5. Pricing. This is a factor that is not always easy to gauge. The highest priced compilers are not automatically your best choice. Choose your compiler based on the necessary requirements for your Ebook. That means you need to know exactly how you plan to use your Ebook and what functions you require.

Let’s look at some of these factors in more detail.
First of all, make sure you have the correct browser to run the compiler. The majority of HTML compilers use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape. Check out the version that the compiler supports. Compilers that require a browser will not run on a computer that does not have the required browser installed. However, there are ebook HTML compilers that don’t require you to have any browser installed on your computer. These compilers run on any Windows system.

If you choose a compiler that requires a browser, check to ascertain that the browser is installed correctly and that it is properly configured to the specifications of the compiler. Check to see if certain functions are turned off or on, and make any adjustments according to the compiler instructions.

Security is an essential element of any compiler, regardless of whether you plan to sell or give away your ebook. One of the main reasons for using a compiler is to prevent the reader from modifying the contents. A secure compiler allows access only to the pages you want the user to access unless they enter a correct password.

To find out how secure an ebook HTML compiler is, open an ebook on it. While it is open, check the temporary directory of your computer. This can usually be accessed by typing in C:\Windows\temp. If you see a bunch of files when your ebook is open or running, it means that your computer is decompressing the secure data from your ebook before showing the ebook to the viewer. This method is not secure! It means that anyone with the knowledge of how to access these temporary files can steal the secure data and then they can fiddle with your ebook to their evil heart’s desire. Remember, one of the main purposes of buying and using an HTML compiler is to protect your property.

Next, let’s discuss passwords. When trying to choose an ebook Compiler, check out the type of passwords that the compiler supports. Almost all compilers offer some kind of password protection that insures that the user can only access the contents they have purchased from you. However, the best compilers offer varied ways to generate different types of passwords. Choose a compiler that gives you the options of secure, user-friendly, and open password generation.

Another important factor when it comes to passwords is how the compiler generates them. A compiler that has internal password protection generation built into the software is more secure than compilers that link to live Internet password control systems.

Find out if the compiler generates passwords online.
If it has this option, it allows you to choose any payment processing system you want or to do the payment processing yourself.

Next, look into the size of ebook the compiler supports. The best compilers can create ebooks up to 2 GB in size without decompressing the HTML pages or images to your hard disk. Usually, ebooks that are 2 GB in size can easily support 6 GB of compressed data. The catch here is that only text files will generally be compressible.

You do not want a compiler that decompresses this amount of data when the user attempts to open your ebook. This would mean that anyone who purchases your ebook will have to wait for all the data to decompress before they can access your ebook right after downloading it. So look for compilers that only decompress temporarily files that are NOT HTML to the local hardisk. Non-HTML files include Flash, Word, and Acrobat files. This type of compiler is more secure and certainly faster.

Make sure the compiler you choose is compatible with your system software. Check out what version of Windows it requires, and make sure you have that version before buying your compiler.

Support issues are extremely important. Choose a compiler that includes an installation program. This program allows your user to choose a number of different places on their computer to install the ebook, to place a shortcut on their desktop, and to add the ebook, if they choose, to the Start Programs menu.

You also want excellent and accessible vendor support.
Make sure you can access quick technical support! At three o’clock in the morning, this factor will be VERY important. Also, check to see the terms of free technical support offered. Unlimited technical support is obviously the best option.

Check to see if the company that puts out the compiler software offers a service level agreement. This agreement is to assure you of their quality response to your questions or problems.

A good thing to consider is how long the compiler has been on the market. Usually, the version number will give you an idea. The longer the program is on the market, the higher the version number, the more bugs have been worked out.

When choosing an ebook compiler, do not be swayed by incredible promises and dazzling sales copy. Do your homework first, and then consider all the above issues and factors before choosing an ebook compiler.

How can you choose your best blogs brand

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Personal blogs can be more random if it is simply sharing what you are doing with friends and family. But a blog for business, one you hope will make money, a blog that presents you as an expert or one to drive traffic to a website needs to have a marketing goal or purpose.

Generic will kill you. Trying to post a blog about being a stay at home mom might find fierce competition. Trying to post one about how a stay at home mom can run an internet business might be more specific. But don’t not go posting a blog until you have taken a look around. You do not want to be number one million trying to climb to the top of the heap.

Can your Blog be too niche?

Yes it can. If your blog is only about bunions, it could get boring fast. While the hot phrase is niche you do not want to make it so specific that you run out of ideas in two weeks. There is a good chance you will run out of bunion material.

However, you could instead have a blog about foot problems and this would open up all sorts of titillating subjects of interest like plantar fasciitis or narrow feet, high arches or flat feet. Now we are talking. We can go into orthotics, shoes, wrapping devices and even socks! I could go on as the excitement is never ending.

So Niche does not have to mean singular subject.

That is not to say that drivel would not be a viable blog. It would be. In that case, the audience wants to be entertained on various subjects on any given day. They are looking for random of comedic posts and nutty articles.

When it comes to your Blog, think Relationship Marketing.

A blog is more personal. This, in a place as impersonal as the web, is a big advantage. So it is an opportunity to be professional and give potential clients, customers, visitors a chance to get to know you on a more personal level as well. It is relationship marketing similar to the email marketing.

Your blog should also be about a passion or something about which you are an expert. You share information and expertise on this platform and it needs to be changed and updated.

Do not let your Blog Go down with the Sinking Ship called Mediocrity.

Please do not do a Boring Blog because that is internet litter. Usually people land on your blog because of a keyword. So you have to have something there that captures attention and makes them want to stay and even return. Welcome to my blog is not going to capture attention. If you have a boring blog that is not informative, you will find out soon enough because no one will come or stay either to come back to play.

Define your target audience. Who are they? Really define your market. Defining your target market is the part that will most directly affect your bank account so this step is vital. You have to speak to them so you have to define what is important to them so you can provide the solution or answer.
Write down your marketing objective (a.k.a. your goals) For example: I want the blog to position me as an expert in foot problems.
