List Building and Online Marketing Business Opportunity!

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Most of the information that you read will be focused on marketing appropriately whether using Adwords to offline classified ads or building your email list. Because building a list provides you with organizations and companies that you would not have thought of as revenue for your exact situation. By developing such a list of the members of a target universe, by holding a Medicaid luncheon, by “dripping” on referral sources and by building a senior source guide booklet, a lawyer may well be identified as the pre-eminent source of information on senior affairs in general, and elder law in particular, in his region. By allowing site visitors to sign up for your nonprofit email newsletter list, you’re building a database of people who are specifically interested in your organization and its well being.

This is a not as much of effective means of building your mailing list but it still works. On the other hand, building an opt-in list is a perfectly acceptable and highly successful method that will keep you from being labeled bad business. Here are ten ways that you can start building or increasing your list today.

The list building online marketing business opportunity is the best in my opinion because of the enormous leverage and marketing power that you can create. Start building your list of responsive peeps from the beginning. The most successful online entrepreneurs concentrate hardest on building as huge an Opt-in list as they can handle in order to get the consumer’s attention and sustained interest. Building a successful opt-in list doesn’t happen in a moment.

Refer back to the issue on keyword list building for keyword avenues you can explore. You can easily incorporate into your online strategies building an email list, developing relationships, responding quickly to a crisis and cutting campaign costs. There are numerous free list-building programs that offer ways you can build your list. Find one or two in the areas of Internet Marketing you need help with:  SEO, Mini Sites, Affiliate Marketing, List Building, Google Adsense/Adwords, Copy Writing, etc.

Building a media list of local newspapers, trade journals, magazines, web sites, radio and television shows. Here area few ideas for building your mailing list: add all of your customers, offer a free newsletter, offer drawings for free products, do reverse phone number searches on prospects to find their address. None of us know what’s going to be on that equipment list, so get the CCNA and CCNP first – by building your own Cisco home lab. So list building is not just about “recruiting” (although that is certainly very important), but it’s about “retaining” also.

They either don’t know the importance of List Building or they put it on the back burner. Building a list of friends like this will also help you in the future if you plan on using my space techniques to market your products.

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

  7. Have friends around. Children tend to gravitate toward other children. It gives them spirit and makes them want to play all day. Working out with other people is almost like having your own little playgroup.
  8. Go outside for adventures. Every kid knows that the good stuff is in the great outdoors—fresh air, wide open spaces, limitless possibilities. You can’t find those things cooped up in a tiny, stale gym. Open the door and start a new adventure every day to motivate you to lose weight after birth.
  9. It’s important to use your imagination. Be Wonder Woman or whoever you choose to be. Give yourself permission to believe in your own super powers and let your mind take you wherever it wants to go.
  10. Anything is possible. No fear, no self-doubts, no negative self talk, no self-criticism, no worries, no destructive anxieties or thoughts of failure. To a child, he/she can do anything. And do you know what? They’re right.

Fitness consistency and enjoying what you do is key to losing weight after birth. When you act more like a kid, suddenly the world opens up. Living a healthy lifestyle becomes something you want to do every day. Start enjoying yourself again as you work on your goal to lose weight after birth!

Spanish Football League – Valencia Leads the League

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

The Spanish league was full of excitement this past weekend after the Valencia team delivered the biggest surprise by becoming the first team to be positioned at the top of the standings with 13 points and keeping their undefeated streak of five games up to this point in the season.

At the Mestalla Stadium, Valencia defeated Deportivo La Coruna 4-2 in a great game played by Valencia and his scorer David Villa who scored 2 goals and he is leading in scoring points this season with a total of six goals, this is indeed a very promising starting season for Villa.

Last season Valencia finished in the in 10th place with 51 points but they managed to obtain a great accomplishment which was to win the Spanish Cup for the 2007-2008 season. This new season 2008-09 Valencia had a solid start winning the last five games played in the hands of Head Coach Emery.

During this Sunday’s game, Valencia was down in the first 11 minutes of the game, but a good play done by Mata and the Italian defender Emiliano Moretti tied the game at the end of the first half. During the second half a play by Mata and Villa set Valencia with a good advantage. Later on at the 69th minute a goal by Joaquin increased the score 3-1 in favor of the Valencia CF and at the 82nd minute, Villa scored the fourth goal for his team. Although it was not the end of the game, the host player Lafita scored for El Deportivo ending the score at 4-2.

At the end of the game, Valencia’s Head Coach, Unai Emery expressed, “We are getting over the problems from last season and today we showed what we are capable of.  It is nice to be top but what we are concerned with is consistency and growing as a team. We don’t know our limits because it is early in the season.”

The president Vicente Soriano also told the media, he was really excited for this season and the expectations on his team during 2008 and 2009. Definitely the team has shown they are capable of becoming the best team of the league but it is still too soon. There are still things Coach Every and his players need to improve in order to become this season’s champions, especially overcome every obstacle they will find along the way before obtaining the title.

The next game will be against Valladolid which is currently in the 11th position of the standings with 6 points. Previously, Valladolid had lost against Malaga 2-1, however, the team hopes to battle for a win against Valencia on Thursday and built up their position in the standings.

For their part, Valencia is motivated and they keep playing very good.  The team will keep fighting for the top position of the league while adding more points. Therefore, we hope to see a great game and great football coming from the Valencia players. The fans also want to see their great team remain at the top spot while becoming this year’s league champions.

Take Joint Venture All Time You Ask

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

I can show you how to get a joint venture with a successful production every time you try.

That’s a pretty bold statement, isn’t it? Well, I’ll make a deal with you.

If I can’t show you a way to get a joint venture with a successful entrepreneur every time you ask, I’ll throw my computer out the window and never log onto the Internet again.

And for someone who spends as much time online as I do, that’s not going to be easy.

All you have to do is ask a simple query to a specific group of online entrepreneurs who can offer you access to their customer base. There’s no better way to make more money than to joint venture with someone who’s already very successful and offer your
products and services to their existing customers.

You’ll make more money. You’ll be a huge success. And you’ll finally get to quit your job and retire early. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

So, what’s the secret?

Joint venture with ezine/online newsletter owners. Ok, I know what you’re probably thinking. You’ve already heard this before. But do you use this way?

It really works. I’ve generated traffic to my websites using this highly effective technique. All you’ve got to do is place an ad with an ezine
that accepts advertising. That’s it.

Offline businesses do this all the time. They form partnerships to access each others’ customer bases.

I was just at Kinko’s a couple of days ago. If you don’t have one in your area, Kinko’s is a copy center. They have FedEx locations at their stores
now, so if you need to ship something, you can do it at Kinko’s.

Both companies know that clients of either one often need shipping, as well as copying services on a regular basis. So why not offer everything in the
same store?

Ezine owners offer many different types of advertising. Sometimes, they can give you a free ad as well. If you can afford it, I recommend solo ads, where your ad is sent to the ezine owner’s entire subscriber base entirely. You can get great results this way.

Make a list of all the ezines and ezine directories you can think of. If you can’t afford solo ads, think about placing smaller ads or free ones in the publications. Do it consistently and you’ll see results. Vary your ad copy, too, so subscribers
don’t see the same thing over and over.

Most techniques to generate traffic online simply don’t work. But ezine advertising is one that really does. So the next time you say that you just can’t get a joint venture going with an established entrepreneur, place an ad in an ezine.

It works every time. Looks like I didn’t have to throw my computer out the window after all.

Straightforward Plan for Internet Agents

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

In more simple terms and cutting through the fancy name Joint Venture Brokering is essentially where you find a product on a site and match that product with knowledgeable marketers who will, and in most cases actually want, to sell the product, making you money from the brokering of the sale.

To be a successful Broker you will need to follow some basic tricks which I have outlined for you as follows:-

Trick One: First off, just kick back, relax and make a list of all your favorite hobbies, pastimes, interests and passions. Ask yourself:

A What are you interested in?
A are you passionate about?
A subject or topic do you have a lot of knowledge about?
A do people ask your advice on?

You may be worried that you do not have any specialist awareness but you need to stop and think of your life experiences. List the jobs you have done and the hobbies you have pursued or the volunteer work you may have done, all the subjects you have some interest in.

This way you will not only make money online with your brokering business but you’ll enjoy working on it too!

Trick Two: From your lists in Trick One, you now need to find the websites that cover your interests etc. You then drill down these sites to find a niche market that you can broker for. For example, you may be passionate about Sports, for which there are plenty of websites. But you need to dig a little deeper and find out what exact sport niche you want to get into. You may have a particular interest, in golf for example, so this is the market you would search for suitable products to broker for.

Trick Three: Next, by using search engines and Directories find a web site that has a two-tier affiliate program for the product you are looking to broker. A two-tier affiliate programme has the first tier of commission the same as in a regular affiliate program. The difference is the additional tier(s), whereby marketers also earn a commission on sales generated by people they referred to the program. A best two-tier program will be one that:

Offers better than $10 commission per second tier sale.

Provides the marketer with ready to go marketing materials like email promotions, articles, adverts, banners etc.

Has cookie tracking system for their affiliate program, which means that even if the marketers you try to broker deals with don’t sign up on the day you contact them, but sign up months later, you will still get the credit for the sales they make months down the line.

Trick Four: Is to build up a list of website domain names related to the products in your niche market saving the list where you can easily locate it.

These are likely site owners that you will be able to approach and broker a deal with. These are your marketers.

Trick Five: Using the Google search engine type in (your niche market) ezine to find thousands of sites, in your niche market that have ready-made email lists to promote to. These will be sites that publish, or are linking to another site that publishes, an ezine in your niche market.
These are your marketers.

Trick Six: Start going through your lists from tricks four and five and emailing the website owner or ezine publisher/owner trying to broker deals getting them to promote the site you are brokering for. This trick in itself would take you months to broker all the deals available, yet each and every deal could be worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars to you.

Trick Seven: You have now learned THE trick of making money on the internet without having your own product to sell, or without having your own website, or even without having any contacts or doing any marketing whatsoever.

Enjoy your newfound wealth and income streams and all the freedom that comes with them!

Give Them Something New

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

People like things they know and understand. People like shopping at companies that have proven themselves to be worth their time. This is a safety net most shoppers will gravitate towards if they’re able to. Why take a chance with a company you’ve never dealt with if you know that the company you’re currently shopping at does everything you want it to?

However, people also like to try things that are new. Every time a new restaurant opens up in my area there’s always a rush of people trying it out. The first few weeks it’s open you have to wait in line to get a seat so many people are trying to get in.

So the question then is how can you combine these two seemingly opposite traits within people?

The answer comes in the form of giving them just enough new stuff to make them happy without impeding upon the reliability that made them keep coming to you in the first place.

The best approach to accomplishing something like this will be with new product releases. Take for an example Apple Computers. They’ve made a name for themselves selling computer systems, which is their primary area. However, that didn’t stop them from launching into new fields with the Ipod and the Iphone.

By expanding their inventory with these new products while at the same time maintaining their line of computers, they’re able to capitalize on people’s need for reliability and something new.

If you look at the color printing they had done for their ad campaigns you’ll notice a similar trend, which is the same for almost any company releasing a new products. The central theme is, “Here is something new from a company you know you can trust.”

So let’s make this work for your business as well.

Not everyone is going to have the budget to develop a product in a largely unrelated industry like Apple did with their mp3 player, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be some kind of new product you can use to promote your business.

How far you decide to stray from your given industry will depend on how big of a new product you think you can make, and how well you think you can financially support it. If this seems a little too daunting, see what kind of products you can release already within your industry.

Think of new clothing lines in the summer and fall. A clothing store can offer people new designs while remaining the same store the customer’s have always known.

Take a good look at your company and figure out what you can do that you haven’t before. Whether this is a new product or a new service, decide the best way to give your customers something they’ve never seen before.

Once you know what it is you plan on doing make sure your color printing properly reflects this new product while maintaining the comfortable feel that your company has already established. This might mean using a similar color scheme or design to establish your company’s brand name with your new product.

In the end you will help to draw in new customers that might have never shopped with you while keeping your current customers happy by providing them with something different.

Kaye Z. Marks is an avid writer and follower of developments in color printing industry and how these improvements can benefit small to medium-scale business.

Thinking Of Travelling By Sea? Read Some Cruise Tips

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

If you have never taken a cruise before, here are tips that will make your trip more enjoyable, less frantic and organized.

Lately, there are more requirements that cruise lines require like completing immigration information before the cruise. It is important that you have two ID forms. You must either have a travel passport or a birth certificate. You must also carry a photo ID like a driver’s license. Print these papers after you have made a final payment and take them with you when you check in.

We always try to fly in the day before the cruise departs. This is not mandatory, but it eliminates panic about flight delays or missing luggage concerns. If you do arrive the same day as departure, allow ample time to get from the airport to the dock. You must be checked in at least one and a half hours prior to the ship’s departure. You also need to allow sufficient time on your return flight. It is suggested to choose your departing flight by 1:00 in the afternoon. Attempt to arrive the day before the departure of the cruise line. This is not necessarily mandatory but it does eliminate panic about flight delays.

You will be assigned to one of two rooms on board. They are called a”Stateroom” or “Cabin”. There are two kinds of accommodations on board. The are called state room or cabin. They both have the same meaning. Choose wisely. If you or someone in your family is claustrophobic, do not choose an inside cabin, as they are small with no windows. Try a cabin with a porthole. Balcony cabins are also a good alternative as they are usually bigger. If you are with your family, most new ships have cabins that are family friendly. You cabin will include very nice amenities that will make it seem more like home. These include private baths, refrigerators, large closets, phone and TV.

Sea sickness should not be a concern for you. The newer ships now have stabilizers that keep the ship from rocking side to side. To be on the safe side, pack medicine like Dramamine in your bag. You can also purchase over the counter medicines in the Sundries store on board, after sail away. Luckily, sea sickness is not a huge concern for people who suffer from motion sickness anymore. Modern ships have what are called stabilizers. This eliminates the rocking motion which sends people staggering around green from sickness. If you should have sea sickness anyway, retreat to your cabin and lie down with a cold washrag over your head or neck.

No cruise is complete without fine dining. Dress up and go to a fine dining establishment where you can sit at the same table and be served by the same waiters every night. You can even enjoy 24 hour room service. be mindful of tipping guidelines which vary

When you are packing, bring comfortable shoes. This is very important because you will do lots of walking. Do not forget to take medications, plenty of clothes, a swimsuit and your travel documents in a small bag that you can take with you. This eliminates the anxiety of waiting for your belongings to show up in your cabin.

Above all, have fun taking advantage of the many activities that they offer there. Get a massage at a massage parlor, go work out at a fitness center, and go relax by the pool. You can even watch movies, go rock climbing, go skating and more! Also, do not miss out on the shore excursions,

If you are bringing your children, take advantage of the activities for kids. Every cruise line has a children’s program. These are usually grouped by age. Take advantage of the baby-sitting service available. You will have to pay, but it is worth it if you and your spouse/partner would like to steal away and enjoy the nightlife on board.

Whether you are going for an anniversary, a get-away, or a family vacation, a cruise line is a great destination.

The Best Tips for Working at Home

Saturday, November 29th, 2008
Ah, the joys of working at home. Sleeing whenever you want, making your own hours, setting your own terms and conditions, spending quality time with the family, the list goes on and on and on. One high priority joy is the potential income working online may produce for you. Granted, work at home has many, many gains, it also has potential drawbacks. Knowledge, skill, determination, desire, faith, and using the tools given to you, are all trainable aspects that must be put to perfect execution when working from home. Without the proper knowledge, any one of these aspects can turn on you and result in a HUGE loss.

To successfully work from home, one must have knowledge of the internet and internet marketing. This covers an absolute huge range:

Affiliate Marketing

Google Adwords and Adsense

Article Writing

Web Design

HTML coding/scripting

These are the main ways many people make money online. Thankfully, none of these obstacles are difficult to grow knowledgeable upon. Basically, if you can read, write, learn, and memorize, this section of online work will be easy. No matter how easy something is, it may be time consuming. Depending on how fast you catch on and your prior experience, it may take up to a month to start earning some noticeable income. Also, be sure you have someone to help and assist along the way. If attempting to buy a work at home system or information, DO YOUR RESEARCH. This cannot be stressed enough. Be sure you don’t fall victim to a scam artist. I would recommend sending an inquisitive e-mail to the product or system ‘contact us’ area. If you don’t recieve a reply (or if they did reply, and it still sounds a little suspicious)then chances are pretty big it’s another scam.

Skill, determination to succeed, desire to succeed, and faith in oneself, play a critical role in anyone’s online success. Certain skills, which can only be learned, are required in order to construct web sites, write articles, and efficiently use google. Web sites absolutely, positively, must be easy on the eyes. You ever seen one of those sites that have hundreds of advertisments pasted in them? Yeah, it’s very, very annoying and will drive any potential buyer away in less then a heartbeat. Because free web hosting sites piledrive advertisments into every site they own, it is generally not a good idea to create your site through them. Annoying advertisements drive people away. Desire and faith are key instruments that you 100% need in order to succeed. Without the desire to make infinate wealth, one can never make the money they want. Desire is required to keep pushing on and to never quit. Faith in yourself is unquestionable. If you can’t believe in yourself, how can you believe to make millions? And determination? When you are determined to succeed, you will. Simple as that.

Work online is tedious, sometimes time consuming, and always rewarding, IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING. If you don’t know what your doing, any money you put forward will surely turn into a loss. Do your research, have desire and determination, believe in yourself, be sure someone is holding your hand, and never, ever let yourself get scammed.—

We know almost nothing

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Truths are remarkable things.  We claim something is true, thus it is – for a little while at least.

How many things do you really know?  A thousand things? A million? How about a billion?
And of these things that you ‘know’, do you really know them? Or did someone else tell you that they were true or are they assumptions made after observations?
Facts and figures (true and false) are infinite.  Even the best word smith, trivia buff or collegiate professor cannot honestly claim to know but a little knowledge.  Common sense often helps us fill in the gaps between what we ‘know’ and what we can grasp, which definitely works in our favor.  The truth about us and our limited knowledge does not have to be a hindrance to us, it should instead encourage us to grow and learn more about ourselves, our world, our universe, and the stuff we haven’t even begun to name yet.

Consider this for just a moment;
1. The deeds of the great and the terrible are recorded according to whoever is most victorious in battle, should we really consider their perception as unbiased?  The record of events is often times presented differently to different peoples of different countries and cultures, yet we are generally only exposed to the one deemed ‘correct’ by those currently in power.  Was Hitler an evil person, or a great leader, or maybe even both?  What would the classrooms be teaching today if he had been more successful in his endeavor of world domination?
2. Science, the great study of all things in a supposedly unbiased way, has often come to ‘truths’ that were flawed or wildly inaccurate as well.  Is the world flat?  What really happened to the dinosaurs?  Is global warming real?  Do aliens exist?  Many ‘truths’ are expounded for these topics and millions of others, which are really true?  Does popular belief constitute truth?
3. Ever heard of the ‘new math’?  Was the ‘old math’ wrong?
4. Americans are the best!!  Have you ever asked peoples from another country what they think of Americans?

We obviously need to know things.  History teaches us mistakes to avoid and challenges we must face.  Science is simply a method of growth.  It’s ok for us to get it wrong, we are still learning as a whole.  Facts, figures, and “truths” are all around us.  Some might really be true, but many are flawed or biased.  Sometimes it matters, other times it is sufficient as it is.  Question the ‘truths’ that you hold and accept the true fact that you and ‘they’ might be wrong, and remember that’s it’s perfectly ok to be wrong (and you probably are…).

We know millions and billions of facts.  Our knowledge is deep and rich.
At least we say it is …..

Various Adsense Guidelines for Superior Online Profits.

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

The Google AdSense program can suggest a great way to adjoin income from your website without having to sell any products or services. Most part of websites could profit well from AdSense as long as they know how to efficiently increase click through rates without withdrawing the user experience by showing too many ads.

Here are some points that can help to increase click through rates and revenues from AdSense:

Tip 1: Put AdSense ads above the fold
Do not get too shy to place ads at the top of your site which visitors first see when they enter your site without having to scroll down. Simply place an AdSense unit like a banner sized one in the center of the page. Avoid the very top as most people tend to skip that part and do not focus on that area too much.

Tip 2: Generate a good quality site
Advertisers can now choose which sites they want their ads on so if you create a great site you are more likely to attract higher paying advertisers so you may receive more money per click. Make sure your site is unique and up to date as this will also attract return visitors which can really make a difference since you do not have to constantly get new visitors.

Tip 3: Place ads fixed into your content
If you have good length articles over 500 words then consider adding ad units like the 336×280 ad units directly into the content by using tables to wrap the content around the ads. This will help to increase click through rates since more people will see the ads.

Tip 4: Use colors appropriately
Try to make your ads blend in as much as you can with the rest of your site. Make the link colors match the main links on your site. If you can stick with the regular blue link color for the links on your site since that is what most people recognize as the standard link color.

Tip 5: Apply extra ads if you can
If there is enough content on the page do not be afraid to add more ads. The AdSense program permits 3 ad units and 2 link units per page however make sure that your content is not squeezed too much, always keep the visitor experience in mind first otherwise people will simply hit the back button and not even read your content never mind click any of the ads.

Tip 6: Get free borders
Borders around your AdSense ads make them appear more like ads and do not help to blend them in with the rest of your site. Eliminate the borders so the ads look more like a part of your site and this should help to increase click through rates.

Tip 7: Track your ads
Be sure to take benefit of tracking features in your AdSense account so you know how well certain ads are doing. Experience is often the best teacher so try special approaches and stick with the ones that work and learn from your mistakes. Try some of these AdSense tips to help you earn more money from your website.

Affiliate marketing – Things to bear in mind

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Affiliate marketing is a method by which an individual gets paid for successfully promoting another persons product or service. This method allows a new internet marketer to make money online with out the headaches of product development, website design, or customer service. The marketer is paid when a particular act such as a submission or purchase is made.  Many merchants are more than happy to split the profits with the internet marketer since the marketer is providing the necessary work and cost to promoting.  There are several e-commerce sites that the new and experienced marketer can join and begin promoting products and services immediately. Affiliate marketing has increased profit margins for some merchants by more than 15-20% and the trend shows no signs of slowing.  Why participate in an affiliate program?  It allows becoming a home based business owner on a part time basis while you get your feet wet. Affiliate marketing has created many millionaires as it is one of the best methods to create a significant income. These outcomes came from great training, hard work, prospecting and self motivation.  If you are seriously considering affiliate marketing, don’t be mistaken, your results will be directly related to what you are willing to put in it.  Here are the top 5 keys to consider when choosing an affiliate program to promote:  1. a product or service that you like and have interest in.  In other words, would you buy it? This is one of the best indicators of knowing whether this a good program to promote. If you think you would purchase a particular product or service, chances are someone else will too.  2. Look for a program that has a few known guru testimonials on it, these will most likely be of high quality.  Most gurus have a reputation they need to protect. Many multi-millionaire gurus got their start as affiliates and often create their own products. These comments give some assurance that the standards of the program are solid.  3. Do a little market research on the products first.  If you can track down a forum and ask the members their opinions on the product, do so. These user testimonials are helpful, but be sure to keep in mind that some people just buy to buy and may not give you a fair assessment. Be sure to do your market research and feel comfortable that current users are happy with the product.  4. The program is in high demand and its market is growing.  This will ensure that you will be able to make money in this program for many months and years to come. Most e-commerce sites track the data on each program offered do your due diligence.  5.  There are many programs offering the promoters great ratios. Keep on the lookout for these. Don’t waste your efforts promoting programs that aren’t willing to pay you what you deserve.  Be sure you research your product and use the 5 keys to consider as your guide. You must have the proper training necessary before you start promoting. Although millions can be made in affiliate marketing, only those with the proper skills are successful.

To make money in the EBook world!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

The year 2004, when the EBook world wasn’t flooded like the Nile during the rainy season? As each year comes around, it gets harder and harder to keep up with the EBook world. Making an easy “How to Make Money” or “How to Bake a Cake” EBook just isn’t going to cut it anymore. Just go to Ebay and type in “EBook” on the search bar, a couple thousand will show up, and that doesn’t even include the thousands upon on thousands that are located in some of the sellers’ Ebay stores.

Not all hope is lost however. Selling EBooks online can still be very beneficial – it just takes a little bit more time and effort. Unless you’re the luckiest guy on Earth, you are not going to make a living by selling only one, two, or three EBooks unless you are very established, credible, and highly well known. It’s just not happening in today’s world. Literally every subject that you can think about is already covered. To make money in the EBook world you have to have a plethora of different kinds of EBooks in your inventory.

The power sellers on Ebay that sell EBooks for a living, you will notice that most of them sell way more than a couple EBooks in their store – generally specializing in some topic. The best way to sell EBooks is to specialize not just in one topic, but a couple different topics that may be closely related to each other. But there is too much work involved in the EBook business nowadays – outsourcing your work is becoming an important factor in EBook sales and the sooner you do it the better.

Hiring professional EBook writers to do the work for you is your top possible option nowadays. You can get the amount of work needed to be done in a fraction of the time that it would take you to do it. Professional EBook writers are also probably superior writers than you are. They are highly trained in the subject matter and are experts at not only writing the content so that it is pleasurable to read, but informative as well, but they are also experts at doing all of the research and behind the scenes work as well.

Outsourcing some of your EBook projects is something that approximately all victorious EBook companies do nowadays and to be successful you have to be able to do it too. EBooks can’t be sold for too much nowadays – you have to keep them relatively inexpensive. The only method to keep them inexpensive and still make a decent amount of money off of them is to have a lot of them and the only way to have a lot of them with high quality content is to hire high quality EBook writers. The faster you can get your store of EBooks up the better because time is money! My advice to you is to hire EBook writers as soon as possible!

The Functions of Color Printing in Marketing

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Color plays a major part in marketing.  Whether it’s a brochure, postcard, poster, or other printed material, the colors you choose either positively or adversely affect the message you send.  When color printing, it is important that you keep the role of colors in mind when designing so that your advertisement produces positive results rather than negative ones.

The first function of color in your marketing campaign is that it helps consumers recognize your products and materials, setting them apart from the competitors.  Color is a part of helping you establish a clearer brand, which is important for gaining loyal customers.

Secondly, color send out a specific message to your target audience.  Certain feelings and emotions surround each individual color, which is why it would be prudent to research the psychology of colors.

In marketing materials, your color can highlight and bring to the forefront important information that you want to stand out to viewers.  Color can also help your audience to retain the memory of a message.  With color, your advertisement will grab the attention of consumers, and they will be more likely to remember what you have to say.

Finally, color can be an organizational tool within your printed pieces.  It can help readers to better understand your main point, and also it can guide them through your publication logically.

Whatever type of publication you will be using, color printing can help you produce better results.  Color adds that special touch and draws the reader into your message.  Keep in mind the above 4 functions of color so that your advertisement accurately portrays your brand, evokes the right emotions, highlights the main point, and organizes your information for readers to better able understand your message.

Top Ten Tips for Recycling in the Workplace

Friday, November 28th, 2008

People often ask us for real practical tips towards becoming more environmentally friendly. Here’s our top ten tip sheet for recycling in the workplace.

1. Make some time to look at what could be recycled in your business. 1-2 hours would be sufficient to get you started.

2. Things to look for:
• Paper in bins at desks
• Unnecessary printing. E.g. emails
• Cans and bottles included with food rubbish
• Printer cartridges and batteries in with general rubbish
• Excess packaging being used.

3. Look for opportunities where waste can be reduced and re-used as these methods are usually no-cost or low-cost. E.g. print documents double-sided.

4. Start with one or two things. Look at the largest volume of potentially recyclable waste. In an office this is most likely to be paper. Also look for high value waste such as aluminium cans and printer cartridges. Just by making a few simple changes you can make a big difference.

5. Find a reputable bin supplier who will work with you to identify the most suitable bins and recycling containers that is right for your business.

6. Separate recyclables. Select suitable containers, labels and signage for the storage and handling of each type of waste that you have decided to recycle. It is important to use clear colour-coded signage so that all employees understand where the waste can be disposed.

7. Find an authorised carrier who will be able to collect your segregated waste on a regular basis.

8. Involve your staff. This is essential for a successful recycling approach in your business. Look to employees for ideas, for example, create a suggestions box. Ensure that the recycling initiative is discussed at team meetings so that everyone knows the part they have to play.

9. Look at consumables that you use for your business, could they be purchased from a supplier who provides recycled products? It is surprising the cost savings that can often be made.

10. Monitor your new scheme. Keep a record of all waste activities, including costs, to monitor improvements and ensure this is communicated to the team via notice boards, newsletters etc. to maintain interest.

The success of Ebooks!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Do you have a hobby? Have you learned how to master a particular program or video game? Can you put together a gradually guide to help others increase parallel understanding of the process?  The above questions you might have the beginnings of a home-based business.   People are consistently looking for ways to make money using a variety of software products or through an understanding of online auction houses. Dozens of Ebooks have been developed to attempt to address a variety of topics that have found a connection with online consumers.  Perhaps the success of Ebooks as a home-based business has to do with the immediacy of information acquisition or possibly the low cost associate with Ebook download. Maybe the success is linked to the portability of the product through hand-held PC devices or it might basically be the desire for fresh information.  Traditional publishing houses might never consider publishing a book on subjects like online safety specifically at Christmas time or how to breed tropical fish, but these subjects are addressed in Ebook form and they have sold very well.  A traditional publisher can take up to a year or more to get your book to market while a completed Ebook can be ready to go in a matter of minutes in some cases.   Online consumer is used to locating information that answers their questions immediately. If they can locate it online at a cost that is less than a bookstore and without the hassle of trying to get to the bookstore In fact they have what they want, then you become the hero of the day when you provide an Ebook on the subject they are looking for.  Many Ebook authors have utilized a multi-pronged approach to distribution. Some sell product completely on their website, but many have also (or in lieu of) used an Ebook reseller to push their product onto the larger stage of mass consumption.  However, when a home-based business owner determines to make their Ebook available the end result is a long-term revenue stream in residual income through payments for downloads of the Ebook. The concept is similar to traditional book publishing, but leaves the control of the book in the hands of the owner of the work. You’ll notice I say ‘owner’ because increasingly freelance writers are being used to develop the idea with ownership remanded to the one requesting the material.

Website Design- Determining the success of your Website

Friday, November 28th, 2008

It should be remembered to get a high ranking in the top three search engines- Yahoo, Google and MSN while designing your website. A web designer needs to consider a variety of online selling principles while designing an eCommerce website.

In designing a website we must take into consideration the following facts. Content is very important in website designing. Planning and organizing are the most crucial steps in designing a website. Well, driving high traffic to website is very important, but what’s even more important, is designing a website in that way which makes them stays longer.

While designing your website, it is important that you switch from your own profit-oriented perspective to the prospective customers’ perspective. Keywords are one of the most important areas to consider when designing a website/webpage. If you don’t have a website or have a poorly designed website, you should consider creating or re-designing a website to adequately market your products.

It is not only about designing a website. During designing your website, remember to try to get as much meet or substance to the top of your code just below the tag as you can. Possibly you would like some help in writing proposals, designing a latest website, or sending out press releases. I’ve listed few items that I feel you must know a little bit about before seriously embarking on designing a website.

Database templates also facilitate you to make changes to your site much more easily, and help you change certain elements without recreating the entire page from scratch.

Similarly, thinking about the navigation, how the site will work, and why users are coming to your site will give you greater insight to what you need to achieve when designing a new website. You can find freelancers to take on just about any other non-administrative project you can think of – designing your website, writing a business plan, sending out press releases etc.

Web designing is a perfect combination of creativity & technical expertise and both are equally important. Just to name a few, there are – Selection of a product, preferably a niche product – Selection and registration of URL – Acquiring web hosting for your website – Designing the website – Optimizing the website for top search engine placement and ranking & Submission of your website.

Business owners and marketers have a tendency to think in broad terms about their marketing objective by focusing on ones such as “generating traffic” or “designing a website. It always happens that html editors write clumsy tags, especially when you amend the webpage layout again and again during your website designing process, which may possibly deter search engines from reading your web page and in turn poorly affect your search engine ranking. Building and designing website is not as difficult as you think.

How to Stop Dieting and Reclaim Yourself with the Law of Attraction

Friday, November 28th, 2008

If you are ready to shed some pounds but the concept of limited food choices is less than appealing and weight loss programs focused on what you can’t do or have tend to encourage tantrums from your inner two-year old, read on. You are not alone – diets don’t work!

So, if dieting isn’t the answer to shedding pounds, what is?

How about a program that teaches you to honor and nourish all aspects of yourself – physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally – so you can heal past hurts and expand your capacity to love yourself and others, all while achieving your weight loss goals? The Journey to WOW – Choose Health NOW™ program, based on the Law of Attraction, will do just that.

You may have heard about the Law of Attraction through the book and DVD, The Secret, featured in many media channels including Oprah, Larry King, and USA Today. Simply put, the Law of Attraction is a universal law that states “like attracts like”. This means, as explained in Michael Losier’s book, The Law of Attraction: “I attract into my life whatever I give my energy, attention, and focus to, whether positive or negative.”

Our minds are powerful. Too often, we unconsciously use this power to create negative thoughts that sabotage our efforts to make positive changes in our lives. The Conscious Transformation Processtm, a method I developed for my clients that is integral to the Journey to WOW program, teaches you to harness the power of your mind to create your ideal body in a constructive, life-affirming way through the following five steps:

1) Ask the universe for what you want. Get really clear about all the attributes and characteristics of what you want. What do you want to experience as a healthy person? What will it look like? What will it feel like?

2) Align your thoughts, beliefs, and words with your desires. Use affirmations, visualization, guided imagery, vision boards and even movies you create with affirmations and pictures. Feel how great you will feel when you are at your ideal weight.

3) Act upon inspiration and in congruency with your desires. Adopt the behaviors of health conscious individuals. You can’t ask to be healthy and then eat a dozen cookies. If you truly want to release weight, then eat appropriate portions, exercise regularly, hydrate yourself and be mindful about your actions. Say to yourself “I’m in control of my choices; is this what I choose?”

4) Account for your actions. Don’t adopt too many new behaviors at one time. Choose to incorporate 2 – 3 new behaviors every 14 to 21 days. Then keep track every day of whether you were successful in adopting that new behavior that day.

5) Allow your desires to manifest. Believe in your ability to create a healthy body for yourself, and then detach from the outcome. Don’t get on the scale every day, just let it happen gradually!

You can, once and for all, throw dieting out the window and achieve your perfect healthy body. As you begin to experience success, your confidence will soar, and you will feel a heightened sense of joy and well-being. So forget dieting. Allow the Law of Attraction to help you create the life you truly want.

Ebook Topic Ideas!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Coming up with a topic for your Ebook might seem like a challenge to you. Do not worry; there are more than enough topics for you to write about. You just have to choose a topic you know about. Here are some topic ideas for Ebooks.

Parenting

Anyone with kids has had a question at one time or another. Share your parenting knowledge in an Ebook. Maybe you have a great way to potty train a child, or a sure fire way to get a baby to sleep through the night. These are great topics for an Ebook. Think about how great it would have been to have a place to find answers to the questions you had when your child was a baby. You could write an Ebook about things no one ever told you about being a mom, or dad. Do you run a business from home? This makes a great Ebook topic. Lots of parents are looking for information on working from home. Another great Ebook topic would be how to work at home while caring for your children.

Computer

Why not share your computer knowledge in an Ebook. Some people still do not know how to protect themselves from viruses and spy ware. You can write an Ebook explaining some of the different anti virus software you have used. A book on upgrading the computer is a good topic. Whatever you know how to do on the computer could be turned into an Ebook.

Automotive repair

Lots of people have cars. There are many things dealing with a car that can be done by you, like changing the oil. Still many people would have no idea on how to do this so they pay someone else to. You could write an Ebook about car repairs for women. With all the single women and moms it is a good thing to know basic car repairs like changing a flat tire.

Home schooling

Home schooling is becoming more popular with all of the school tragedies. Maybe you were home schooled, or maybe you are the one home schooling your children. Share the experiences you have had with others looking to home school. Topics could include different curriculums, home school activities, social issues facing children that are home schooled, and so many others.

Dating

Have you been on more dates than you care to count? Do you know the secret to finding a good man, or the tips to avoid a jerk? If so share this information with others in a dating Ebook. Women and men are always looking on tips for finding that someone special, or tips on planning a perfect date. Maybe you have experience with online dating sites. These would all make great topics for Ebooks.

Weddings

There are so many Ebook topics you could write on weddings from where to have them, to the perfect honeymoon spot. Do you know where to find discount wedding gowns, or how to save money on the big day? Share what you know in an Ebook about weddings.<a href=”http://www.eazy-ebook-money.com”>www.eazy-ebook-money.com</a>

Diabetes Risk for Men

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Men with diabetes face several health concerns, including increased risk of heart attacks and strokes and impotence (not being able to have or keep an erection).

Above the age of 50, the likelihood of having difficulties with an erection occurs in approximately 50-60% of men with diabetes.  In men over 70, 90% have erectile dysfunction problems (link to diabetes and ED page)

Diagnosed and controlled,  diabetes can be successfully managed to minimise its impact on health and well being. You can prevent or delay diabetes complications like damage to eye sight and nerve damage to fingers and toes.  However many men do not realise they suffer from the disease.  Around one third of the men with diabetes are not aware of their illness.

Diabetes Signs and Symptoms

If you find yourself with any of the following symptoms, it is important you visit your doctor or health practitioner and get tested for diabetes:
•  feeling tired
•  frequent urination (especially at night)
•  being very thirsty
•  weight loss
•  blurry eyesight
•  recurring skin, gum, or bladder infections
•  sores that heal slowly
•  dry, itchy skin
•  loss of feeling or tingling in your feet

Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes

There are different kinds of diabetes:
• Type 1 diabetes is usually first diagnosed in children, teenagers, or young adults.
• Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. People can develop it at any age, but it is often diagnosed in later life and is commonly found in men who are over weight and do little exercise.

What is Diabetes?

Most of the food we eat is turned into glucose (sugar) for our bodies to use for energy. The pancreas makes insulin, which helps sugar get into the cells. When you have diabetes, your body either doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use the insulin it does make. This causes sugar to build up in your blood. Over the years, high blood sugar leads to problems like heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, nerve problems, gum infections, and amputations.

Diabetes-Related Problems in Men

Men with diabetes suffer more from some diabetes-related health problems than women. The American Diabetes Association reports that:
• In people who develop diabetes before the age of 30, men develop retinopathy (a vision disorder that can lead to blindness) more quickly than women.
• Having the main symptoms of peripheral vascular disease (pain in the thigh, calf, or buttocks during exercise) is linked to a two- to three-fold increased risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, or cardiac failure in men with diabetes.
• Amputation rates from diabetes-related problems are 1.4 to 2.7 times higher in men than women with diabetes.

“Beer Pot” Belly Equals High Diabetes Risk

Overall obesity, measured by high body mass index (BMI) and a “beer pot” belly, measured by a large waist circumference, both accurately predict the risk of type 2 diabetes in men, but abdominal obesity appears to be the better predictor, new research shows.*
Both BMI and waist circumference are useful for assessing health but waist circumference can indicate a strong risk for diabetes whether or not a man is considered overweight or obese according to his BMI, researchers said.
As waist circumference increased, so did the risk of developing diabetes, with the risk in men with the highest waist circumference (up to 158 centimetres) increasing by 12 times.
The study findings also suggest that the currently recommended cut-off for high waist circumference of 102 cm (40 inches) for men may need to be lowered to 95 cm.
Many of the men who developed type 2 diabetes had measurements lower than the cut-off and the risk associated with the waist circumference increased at a much lower level than previously thought.

Sleeping Too Much Or Too Little Increases Diabetes Risk

Men who sleep too much or too little are at an increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, according to a study by the New England Research Institutes in collaboration with Yale School of Medicine researchers.
Six to eight hours of sleep was found to be most healthy.
In contrast, men who reported they slept between five and six hours per night were twice as likely to develop diabetes and men who slept more than eight hours per night were three times as likely to develop diabetes. Previous data have shown similar results in women.
The elevated risks remained after adjustment for age, hypertension, smoking status, self-rated health status and education.
Too little sleep appears to produce metabolic disturbances like decreased carbohydrate tolerance, insulin resistance, and lower levels of the hormone leptin leading to obesity. The mechanisms by which long sleep duration increase diabetes risk requires further investigation.

You Can Delay or Prevent Type 2 Diabetes

When you take steps to prevent diabetes, you also lower your risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness, and amputation.
Small changes in your lifestyle can make a difference.
They include:
• Getting 30 minutes of physical activity five days a week and losing 5 to 7 percent of your body weight.
• To help you lose weight, choose low-fat foods and foods high in fiber.
• Cut down on fat and cholesterol by having low-fat dairy products, lean cuts of meat, fish, poultry, fruits, and vegetables.
• Limit foods high in salt and sugar.

Know Your Risks That Can Lead to Type 2 Diabetes

It’s important to find out early if you have type 2 diabetes or if you are at risk of developing it. To find out if you’re at risk, check off each item that applies to you.
• I am overweight or obese. (Obesity is measured with a body mass index (BMI), which shows the relationship of weight to height.)
• I have a parent, brother, or sister with diabetes.
• My family background is African American, American Indian, Asian American, Latino, Maori or Pacific Islander.
• I have high blood pressure.
• My cholesterol is not normal. My HDL or “good” cholesterol is less than 50 or my triglycerides are 250 or higher.
• I am not very active. I exercise less than three times each week.

Talk to your doctor or health care practitioner about the risks that you checked off. If you are age 45 or older, also talk about getting tested for Type 2 diabetes. If your test result is normal, you should then be tested every three years. People younger than age 45 who are overweight or obese and checked off any of the items above should also talk about getting tested for diabetes

When Your Marketing Campaign Isn’t Working

Friday, November 28th, 2008

There are a few tell-tale statements that company executives make when their marketing campaign isn’t working or when they’re losing business. If you have found yourself or anyone at your company vocalizing thoughts similar to the following, immediately evaluate your marketing campaign. If you don’t change course, your company could be in trouble.

Here are the statements to listen for:

1. “Traffic is our problem.”
You can’t blame your failures on slow traffic when you are the one that drives that traffic. Figure out the cause of the slow traffic. If it’s because the public doesn’t know about you, that means you need to employ more, or new, advertising avenues. Maybe it’s your business, not your marketing at all. If your customer service isn’t up to par, you need to fix that first and then advertise the fact that you’ve amped up your customer service.

2. “It doesn’t matter what the competition is doing; what matters is what we’re doing.” Marketing a business is a competition; you need to think of it as such. If you don’t know what your competitors are doing, you’re going to lose out because your customers know what your competitors are doing. Consumers are comparing you to your competition, so you need to compare yourself to your competition.

3. “Our customer just doesn’t like XX about our product.” Maybe your customer doesn’t know about XX, which is whatever characteristic that is turning people away from your product. Or maybe your marketing materials aren’t explaining XX sufficiently or clearly so that people understand it. Check that your copy is clear and that your images are understandable.

4. We just aren’t reaching our target market.” Most of the time, your target market is seeing your advertising, they just don’t understand the message you’re trying to send. If you have a black-and-white flyer that showcases your variety of handbags in different colors, obviously that message is going to be lost.

Invest in color printing if part of your message needs to convey something that pertains to color. If you have a makeup company and you show before and after shots of women with your makeup on, make sure the colors are true and perfect. If not, people aren’t going to get the message – they’ll see that your makeup doesn’t change a thing.

5. “There are plenty of consumers out there to buy a little from everyone.” Think again! With high gas prices and a shaky economy, you need to fight for all the customers you get. As soon as you relax, you’re going to lose customers. The majority of people don’t have unlimited disposable income – you need to earn their spending by giving them products they need and want and by telling them exactly why they should choose you over your competitor.

6. “We can rely on our customer service.” It’s great if you have superior customer service personnel, but if that’s the only thing you can tout in your marketing materials, people are going to wonder why. Those kinds of ads generally make you sound like you’re making up for something – namely, a low-quality product.

Customer service is subjective, so your definition of great customer service can differ immensely from your customers. It’s better to rely on product benefits than customer service – something that is objective rather than subjective.

Elite Work at Home Opportunities for Anyone

Friday, November 28th, 2008
Did you know that nearly 99% of all work at home web sites are complete and utter scams? Trading Principles For Fantasy Football

Friday, November 28th, 2008

It is easy to envy the owner who traded away Brady before the season started or the owner who ended up with a backfield of Marshawn Lynch and Brian Westbrook through some well timed trades.  It’s not easy to be that owner.  Trading is a tough game of chess, we all want to sacrifice our pawn for a queen but the moves aren’t so obvious.  The golden rule of trading is information. The more information you have the better deal you will get.

Well what kind of information do I need Gujupike? Here are the questions that should be answered before you accept or offer any trade. The three most obvious questions, which I will NOT address, are: where does my team need improvement (you should know how to spot that), who has players that can improve my team (basic skill), and how can this trade be beneficial for me.  If you don’t know those three before going into trade than you are bound to get outclassed.

Master these next few steps and watch your ranking improve.

What does my opponent want for his player? It’s not so important what they need it is more important what they want! That is a key that many players forget. They offer up trades that are, by all means, fair trades and do improve both teams but if your opponent doesn’t believe in Kurt Warner, or is a Raiders fan and can’t stand Jay Cutler there is no point in offering that trade. You will not get the value you deserve. It is important to talk to your fellow owners. If you are in a league with people you know than talk football with them as much as you can. Don’t probe for information because they will notice that and mislead you. Just simply talk football. The most honest conversations will reveal the most information. Do not be afraid to give information to get it. Just make sure you get more information than you give.

Research Research, Research. For the players that you want and for the ones you are giving up know as much about them as possible. Know their schedule, their bye weeks, there strengths. As much research as you put into drafting player should be done into trading him away or trading for him. I wouldn’t say its important to know the nuances of each player but take a glance at their stat sheet. Here is what you are looking for: Did your player got most of his points from one game or was it evenly spread throughout the last two weeks? Example: Hank Baskett, a lot of owners mistakenly jumped all over him after week one because they saw that he had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. However, those owners failed to realize that 90 of his yards came on one play and those owners were severely punished on week 2. Also another player that can be deceiving is Santana Moss. He has over 200 yards receiving in two games but 146 came from one game. If a running back ran for 95 yards make sure it wasn’t one long run for 80 and then 10 runs for 15 yards. Know thy players Know thy opponent.

Don’t be afraid to move your blue chips. If the draft was in your favor and you made some good sleeper picks (Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, DeSean Jackson) don’t be surprised if you don’t get value for them. You have to trade the blue chips you drafted early (Brandon Marshall, Terrell Owens) in order to get some players. Your depth comes in handy because you can replace the blue chip you traded from your bench. For example in one of my leagues my quarterbacks were David Garrard and Matt Schaub so I obviously needed help. I traded Marshawn Lynch for Drew Brees and moved Matt Forte from the bench to my starting. I never expected to trade Forte for a quarterback. Too often I see owners trying to move two or three bench players for a blue chip. An opponent accepting a trade with your sleeper picks is the same as him admitting you made better moves than him in the draft, most don’t want to do that.  If you move a blue chip the way I explain below you will come out ahead and make him feel like he cheated you.

Expect to feel like you are overpaying. When you try to trade for a top ten player you will always feel like you are overpaying, even if said player is underachieving. A lot of owners are trying to pick up Braylon Edwards cheap and they are finding out that owners aren’t willing to trade him for Santana Moss. Don’t be surprised, it’s early in the season and they still remember which round they drafted their player in and want some value for him. Remember overachieving players will never garner you underachieving players. Stop trying to trade DeSean Jackson for TJ Houshmandzadeh, it’s not going to happen. “The Godfather” said it best; give them an offer they can’t refuse. Overpay if you have to, as long as your team improves overall that’s all that matters. If they refuse an offer that’s clearly in their favor then move on.

Don’t forget the negotiation part of trading. A lot of players play the spectrum of trading wrong. On one end there is the trade that the other owner will never accept and on the other, an offer you will never accept. You have to know these ends. If you offer a trade that is too one-sided in your favor they might feel insulted and not trade with you no matter the offer; or they might get upset and demand more value from you to prove their “intelligence”. However, it is necessary to not offer your best offer first. Propose a trade that is seemingly fair and slightly in your favor (again not too much) just enough to wet the appetite of the other owners so the trade talks can open. Once the trade talks open then keep wetting the appetite of the other owner and then be like well I don’t know and watch him squirm. At this point the other owner has imagined your blue chip player on his team and his mouth is watering. Now we can try to extract more information from him. The key is this, offer a non-blue chip player in your first offer. Trade talks move up not down. Know that you are willing to trade your blue chip player but not unless he asks. When you say “hey I want Drew Brees” he is going to say “well I want Brandon Marshall” and that’s when you’ve got your information. Too often I see and hear of trades that are fair and balanced getting rejected because it was the first offer on the table. Play the game right and you will win.

So keep in mind the subtleties of trading and remember trading is an important part of building a championship team but it’s not the only way to win. Picking up key players off the Waiver Wire is extremely important. The last few things I want to mention are timing issues. Maintaining cordial relations with owners is crucial for future practices, don’t berate players if they offer you one-sided trades just simply message them politely on who you are willing to give up and who you want.  Keep the communication open. Make sure you offer trades up early in the week, give time for negotiations to work, Sunday night is a great time to put up your first offer. If an owner doesn’t respond in a day or two take your offer down and move on. Before you offer or accept a trade read your starting lineup out loud to yourself with/without the traded players. Compare and contrast lineups before the trade and after. Also, don’t panic if you are 0-3. If you were the unlucky guy who drafted Brady, Braylon Edwards, TJ Housh, Larry Johnson, Chad Johnson (ocho cinco) all at once then maybe you should panic but if you only have one or two players underachieving, relax. Stars are stars for a reason they usually find a way to pull out decent stats. Remember trading is negotiation and negotiation is all about information and psychology. As Sun Tzu said in the “The Art of War” If you know thy opponent you need not fear the outcome of a thousand battles.

Eastern Conference Preview

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Training camps opened across North America this past week and hope is abound. The Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers will be leaving shortly for the Czech Republic and the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators will be heading for Sweden to open their seasons. All teams are contenders in September but by February after their mettle has been tested, some will resign themselves to not making the playoffs. Here is how the Eastern Conference Standings look heading into the season.

The Division Winners:

1. Montreal Canadiens – The Habs will celebrate their 100th season by winning the North East division and finishing atop the East conference for a second consecutive year. Montrealers suffered through a long rebuild but with a cocky swagger, Montreal is near the top of the league again. Montreal will seek its 25th cup and end its longest drought ever on the back of sophomore goalie Carey Price. Price is a sure bet to fill his mantle with Vezina trophies in his career. Newcomer Alex Tanguay will provide extra scoring punch in the Habs top 6. The only loss of significance was power play point-man Mark Streit.

2. Washington Capitals – The Capitals will again come out on top in the increasingly competitive south east division. The goaltending combination of Huet and Kolzig that ended the season has been replaced by former league MVP Jose Theodore, who bounced back with the Avalanche after a few down years. Rookie defensemen Karl Alzner is a strong bet to make the team this season as a 19 year old. Look for the steady stay at home blue liner to be paired with future Norris Trophy winner Mike Green and for Green to have the green light to jump into the offensive rush more frequently. Oh, and the Capitals have this kid named Ovechkin who is more effective than General Electric at lighting the lamp.

3. Philadelphia Flyers – The Broad Street Bullies era has been revived in Philadelphia. The Flyers are led by courageous captain Mike Richards. The team guts out wins and are backed by the competent goaltending of Martin Biron. The team is 4 lines deep with players that can score, hit, and defend. Braydon Coburn is emerging as an excellent two way defensemen, similar to Dion Phaneuf. Two years ago the Flyers were last in the NHL but after shrewd moves by GM Paul Holmgren have made a remarkable turnaround. The most significant loss in the off season was Captain Jason Smith, clearly on the downside of his career. There is plenty of youth to make up for his departure.

Playoff Teams:

4. Pittsburgh Penguins – It was a tumultuous off season for the Stanley Cup finalists. The team lost many key free agents, including playoff rental Marian Hossa, local kid Ryan Malone, grizzled veteran Gary Roberts, Pest Jarkko Ruutu, enforcer, Georges Laraque, and back up goalie Ty Conklin. Luckily for GM Ray Shero he was able to retain the services of steady stay at home defensemen Brooks Orpik to prevent the summer from being a complete loss. Pittsburgh less than adequately replaced these players with aging Miroslav Satan coming off a down year with the Islanders and solid 3rd liner Ruslan Fedotenko who will get a shot with Crosby. Crosby, Staal, and Malkin will lead the Pens up front, while veteran Sergei Gonchar, the always improving Ryan Whitney, and blue chip prospect Kris Letang will shore up the blue line.

5. Ottawa Senators – Last year the Sens come out of the gate and had the best start to an NHL season ever before the wheels fell off. Troubled goalie Ray Emery got into fights at practice when he showed up on time. Injuries hurt the Sens and Coach John Paddock was fired in an attempt to shake the team out of its funk. Ottawa was too dependent on Dany Heatley, Daniel Alfredsson, and Jason Spezza for goals last season and not much has changed. Young players like Antoine Vermette, Chris Kelly and Mike Fisher will be joined by Nick Foligno as forwards being counted on for secondary scoring. The biggest change for Ottawa will be on the blue line where long time Senator Wade Redden left via free agency after 2 disastrous seasons. Ottawa also traded Andrej Meszaros after his contract demands were too steep for GM Bryan Murray. New to the Sens blue line will be Filip Kuba and promising youngster Alexandre Picard acquired in a trade with Tampa Bay as well as former Oilers and Flyers Captain Jason Smith. Alex Auld replaces Ray Emery as back up to Martin Gerber the unquestionable (for better or worse) number 1 goalie this year. Expectations are as low in Ottawa as they have been since 1995.

6. New York Rangers – The Rangers were very active in remaking their roster this summer, and their big move is still likely to come. It is believed that sometime before November the Rangers will add former Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin. If/when Sundin if inked look for Scott Gomez to be dealt for a defensemen to shore up the blue line. The Rangers will also welcome Nikolai Zherdev, Markus Naslund, and Dan Fritsche up front and Wade Redden and Dmitri Kalinin to their blue line. Gone from New York are former captain Jaromir Jagr, Veteran leader Brendan Shanahan, super pest Sean Avery and Fedor Tyutin. Despite all the re-jigging, the Blue shirts will go as far as goalie Henrik Lundquist will carry them.

7. Carolina Hurricanes – Injuries have prevented the Hurricanes from making the playoffs the past two seasons and already the Hurricanes are having health issues. Winger Justin Williams was injured in the team’s first work out and will miss 4-6 months. Most of the roster is intact from last season with Joni Pitkanen being the only newcomer of consequence. Pitkanen was acquired in a trade for Erik Cole. Defensemen Bret Hedican and Glen Wesley retired in the off season. The Hurricanes will again be led by Eric Staal and by goalie Cam Ward. Carolina will need to win their divisional games to have a shot at the playoffs as Florida and Tampa will be breathing down their necks.

8. Boston Bruins – The Bean towners returned to the playoffs last season by playing a strong defensive game under new coach Claude Julien. The team was without its best player, Patrice Bergeron for the majority of the season after a hit from behind resulted in a terrible concussion. Michael Ryder is the only acquisition of consequence while long time Bruin Glen Murray was bought out. Improvement will come from within with Bergeron returning and youngsters like Milan Lucic, Phil Kessel, and Chuck Kobasew being counted on for greater contributions. Goalie Manny Fernandez will return from injury to challenge Tim Thomas for the #1 role, with both watching over their shoulder as Tuukka Rask is expected to challenge for a roster spot.

On the outside looking in:

9. New Jersey Devils – Lou Lamoriello has kept the Devils in contention for the past 15 years despite losing players to free agency and attrition. This may finally be the year where Lou’s magic wears off. The team lost no players of consequence and repatriated former Devils Brian Rolston and Bobby Holik, but that will hardly keep them up with the powers of the Atlantic division. Having to play the young upstarts from Pennsylvania (Flyers and Penguins) 12 times as well as 6 games against the Rangers may be enough to keep the Devils out of post season action. Also working against the Devils is Martin Brodeur is aging and doesn’t seem as capable of playing 75 games a season anymore. He looked ordinary against the Rangers and let Sean Avery rattle his cage. If Brodeur shows any signs of failing the bleak shot at a playoff spot will dissipate.

10. Tampa Bay Lightning – No team made more changes than the Lightning this summer. The team has new owners, new GM, new Coach, and almost a completely different roster than the one that opened the 2007-08 season. Program sales should reach an all time high in St. Pete. Only one star player was removed from the roster that finished last overall in 2007-08 and that is Dan Boyle. He was traded in a package that landed young defensemen Matt Carle. The team also traded Alex Picard and Filip Kuba for Andrej Meszaros giving the Lightning two building blocks for the blue line to go with the young talent up front. Superstars Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis will be joined by 1st overall choice Steven Stamkos. The Lightning was active in free agency adding Ryan Malone, Gary Roberts, Mark Recchi, Radim Vrbata, and Vaclav Prospal. Despite all these acquisitions, the Lightning’s fortunes hinge on the play of goalie Mike Smith. Smith was acquired at the trade deadline from Dallas and still needs to prove that he is capable of handling number 1 duties. He will be backed up by aging veteran Olaf Kolzig, acquired via free agency after a lengthy career in Washington.

11. Buffalo Sabres – The good news for Sabres fans is that the team locked up Ryan Miller who could have been a free agent at the conclusion of the upcoming season and almost assuredly would have left the Sabres. The bad news is that the team is still reeling from the departures of Chris Drury and Daniel Briere in the summer of 2007 and will again miss the playoffs. The depth of the minor league system kept the Sabres competitive last year and will again this season. Derek Roy and Jason Pominville stepped up, but a thin blue line proved to be too much for the Sabres to overcome. No losses or acquisitions of consequence were made by GM Darcy Regier whose future with the Sabres was only solidified this week when he signed a contract extension. No major changes will result in the same result as last year.

12. Florida Panthers– Two big changes this season for the Panthers. The first is that leader Olli Jokinen was traded to the Coyotes on draft day for defensemen Keith Ballard and Nick Boynton. The second is new coach Peter DeBoer replaces Jacques Martin who served as Coach and GM last season and was told by ownership to pick one job. Veteran Cory Stillman was also signed and Bryan McCabe was acquired in a trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs for Mike Van Ryn. Any improvement from the Panthers will result in strong interdivisional play and continued development of their young players: Jay Bouwmeester, Steve Weiss, and Nathan Horton. If Florida is nowhere near a playoff spot in February expect Bouwmeester, who is growing tired of losing, to be moved in a trade because he will be eligible for free agency next summer and would be lost for nothing.

The Tavares Sweepstakes:

13. NY Islanders – It was another interesting off season for the Islanders. Ted Nolan lost his power struggle with GM Garth Snow and was abruptly replaced as coach. The bone of contention was the direction of the team. Nolan wanted to continue utilizing veteran players and attempting to make the playoffs whereas Snow decided it was time for a full fledged youth movement. The team was in the hunt until an all star game injury sidelined starting goalie Rick Dipietro and without the team’s franchise player their playoff aspirations were dashed. Ruslan Fedotenko and Miroslav Satan were two veterans that were let go, while the team signed power play spark plug Mark Streit away from Montreal and added Doug Weight from Anaheim via free agency in a pair of curious moves. Blake Comeau, Kyle Okposo, Jeff Tambellini, and Sean Bergenheim are youngsters who will see their role increased with the team. A nice mix of vets and young players on the blue line will combine with Dipietro to help keep the Islanders in some games but lack of fire power will prove to be the Achilles heel.

14. Toronto Maple Leafs – The Leafs had a solid run from 1998-2004 contending for a playoff spot and making some noise. They haven’t made the playoffs since the lock out and will enter 2008-09 in full rebuild mode. Gone are long time Leafs Mats Sundin, leading scorer in franchise history, Bryan McCabe, and Darcy Tucker. Joining them in the march out of town were chronic underachiever Kyle Wellwood and flash in the pan Andrew Raycroft. The Leafs brought in veterans Jeff Finger and Nicklas Hagman to provide veteran stability at extremely high pay rates. They also coaxed Curtis Jospeh out of retirement with a post playing job with the team. The Leafs were pushovers last season and added Ryan Hollweg and Jamal Mayers in trades to provide some grit and toughness. Hope for Leafs’ fans is years away but the first steps are being taken as Nikolai Kulemin joins the team from Russia and “The Human Eraser” Luke Schenn was drafted 5th overall. The team will be younger, tougher, and solid defensively but will struggle to score in the first season under Ron Wilson as coach. The team is waiting for Brian Burke to arrive from Anaheim to take over as President and GM in 2009. The biggest hope is that the moves lead the team to the league’s basement and the chance to draft local phenom John Tavares.

15. Atlanta Thrashers – New coach John Anderson inherits a team with superstar Ilya Kovlachuk and not much else. Some depth was acquired when Marian Hossa was traded but the team lacks top 6 forward talents and has a very thin blue line. Ron Hainsey and Jason Williams is 3rd tier free agents added in the summer while aging players Bobby Holik and Alexei Zhitnik were shown the door. Frequently injured and always inconsistent Kari Lehtonen enters the year as the starting goalie but will be challenged by Ondrej Pavelec. Bryan Little and this year’s 3rd overall pick Zach Bogosian will challenge for roles on this talent deficient squad. It will be a long year for the rookie coach in his long overdue first opportunity at the NHL level.

September Blues: Coping With the Financial and Emotional Costs of Adult Children Living at Home After Graduation

Friday, November 28th, 2008

September is traditionally back-to-school season. But for new college grads – and their families – the first September after graduation can be a challenging one. That’s because many new grads find themselves back at home, living with their parents for the first time in several years.

In fact, according to the US Census Bureau, a full 65% of college graduates return home to live after completing a degree. And many of these adult children returning home to live are completely unprepared for the new financial challenges they face as new grads.

According to the Ameriprise Financial Money Across Generations® study, two-thirds of parents step in to help their adult children living at home pay down student loans, and more than 50 percent help new grads buy a car.

What’s worse, many parents are taking a hit to their own lifestyles in order to continue financially supporting their new grads. After all, not everyone has the extra money just sitting around to pay down unanticipated expenses from adult children living at home. Of the parents surveyed, 40 percent are taking money out of savings to help support their adult children, and one in six are actually taking out a loan.

Perhaps it’s no wonder, then, that one family law expert recently suggested that adult children returning home to live after college can actually increase the likelihood that their parents will divorce.

The combined financial pressures and relationships stresses can simply be too much.

If your family’s relationships and finances are spiraling out of control, you may need help to get things back on track.

Remember that your new grad may not thrilled about having to rely on you for housing and financial support. When they left for their college adventure four years ago, this was probably not the way they pictured it working out.

All the adults in your house – no matter which generation they belong to – are still adults, and must be treated as such. The longer you treat your adult children like children, the further they will regress into relying on you, rather than building their own future. Work on establishing open lines of communication between all members of your household to maintain the peace.

Creating a contract that outlines the roles and responsibilities for everyone in the home can be an excellent way of establishing expectations and boundaries, and helping your new grad create a timeline for independence.

More helpful tips for dealing with adult children living at home, including information on how to create a contract, are available at www.adultchildrenlivingathome.com.

Car User manuals – Do it yourself maintenance

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Do you have a classic car at home? Are you thinking of ways on how to make your classic car run again on the road? Do you have a classic car that still runs but needs maintenance but you are currently short on the budget. If you need the things that are mentioned above and you have knowledge about car maintenance, then one of the things you would probably need more is the manual of the car.

A car manual is one of the best things a car owner would have if he or she is in trouble with cars. One example of a car problem is that it won’t start or the doors would not open. The car manual explains all the details of the car from the safety door to the electrical equipment. If in such case that the car has a flat tire, the car manual also explains how to replace the tire and where the necessary tools are placed. If there is a indicator on the car that the car owner does not understand, it is also indicated in the manual and what or how it is used.

In case of the car mechanics, the car manual is one of things that they keep beside them. The car manual has detailed information about the car’s structure and interior design. The joints connected to the wheels to the steering wheel is also explained there in detail. Most importantly, the engine’s parts and connection with the other engine parts are listed there in diagram and detailed explanation.

It is always important to have your car manual in case of an emergency or if you want to do some self-maintaining for your car. It is like the car and the car manual are best friends and should stay together as much as possible.

Opportunities are Abundant in Design and Technology

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Before choosing a major, students will usually consider the potential job opportunities that a course can provide to them after graduation. Naturally, you’d want to get a degree that allows you develop the necessary skills that will give you a better chance at jumpstarting your career. If you’re eager to dip your feet in today’s most lucrative industries, you might want to consider a career in Design and Technology.

Many experts identify today’s times as the information age, and for good reason. Our society is now heavily influenced by forms of media that make information more accessible than usual. For example, the internet has evolved in such a way that it’s become the main source of instant and updated information for billions of people. The drawback of all this speed, though, is that we are all greeted by more than enough information that we can process, ranging from the important to the trivial. In order to compensate for the information overload, people are now learning how to filter out which sources of information they think are important and which ones they can do without.

As a result, businesses face a unique challenge – how do they capture the attention of their target market? In a society where all sorts of information is overabundant and where consumers are always fickle about their purchases, businesses must always find ways to reach their market and effectively sell their products or services.

This is where experts in the fields of Design and Technology come in, especially when they specialize in web design, web development, graphics design, advertising and merchandizing. Their main goal is to use their skills in media — usually involving the internet — to come up with new ideas that cater to changing trends in society. Creativity is key to this profession, and people in these fields shouldn’t just be in step with current styles. They should also be trend-setters as well, willing to think out of the box and with a knack for predicting what people would want to see next.

This is an important aspect for many businesses, and is one of the biggest reasons why professionals who deal with Design and Technology will always be in demand. Because of the value of these fields, colleges have created courses that are related to the different fields of Design and Technology. In fact, some schools like the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) exclusively offer these courses to their students because of the abundant opportunities available in these fields.

For artistic and innovative individuals unafraid of conjuring up new ideas and experimenting on new concepts, there is a ton of opportunities for you to exercise your creativity in the fields of Design and Technology.

How To Travel Safe

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Traveling solely can be a liberating experience for one, I enjoyed it as it had always signified freedom and grit for me. I think that’s the reason I cherish journey & leisure time so much. It allows one the opportunity to alien, where nobody knows you and therefore you are always a bit tempted to act of norm. Yet the benefits going solo are immeasurable. There are, however, those indecorous individuals always lurking at tourist spots to try to take advantage of your liberated feelings, so it pays to take a few measures when you travel so that you and fellow mates can stay safe.

Here are a few safety tips to help you enjoy your vacation traveling safe:

Always keep all doors and windows safely locked to your hotel room.

Do not swank your wealth, keep large quantities hidden and only keep a few bills in your wallet to ensure safety.

Do not carry your best belongings. Leave your prodigal stuff at home or locked in a hotel safe.

Be Aware – This doesn’t mean being paranoid. It only means when you are walking from your hotel into town, register landmarks and remember street names. Notice your milieu, but don’t forget to notice the people around you too. If you keep seeing the same guy turning up at the market or near your hotel, take note. If a guy gets it in his head that he wants to follow or harass you, ignore him or be firm and ask him politely to leave you alone. Always be ahead of the game.

Hire a reputable guide to show you around.

Try to keep liquor consumption under control. Nothing spells “target” more than a falling down drunk.
