You can’t always rely on the senior employee’s knowledge of the job being all it takes to teach that knowledge to a new recruit. Think of a high school Spanish teacher. Knowing Spanish isn’t the only qualification for Spanish teachers. Spanish teachers also need to hold a degree in the actual skill of teaching.

Trainer training is kind of ironic in that teaching is really the only skill that can be easily passed on without an additional degree.
