Women aren’t the only ones who care about their hair, today there are a lot of black celebrity hairstyles for men. A majority of black males are beginning to show their sense of fashion by sporting some out of the ordinary hairstyles.

The days of the bold and handsome black men with their shaved heads are beginning to pass over us. Now many black men are sporting styles that at times, (sorry to say ladies), looks better then your hair.

The famous hairstyles for not only celebrity black males, but black males in particular are buzz cuts, fades, afros, dreadlocks and cornrows.

Some of the most attractive people are black models and athletes. Consider just a few of them out there. Tyra Banks, Beyonce, Dwayne Wade and the list can go on and on. Something though can definitely be said about these people and their exotic look. Hair styles have definitely contributed to their attractiveness.

Everyone can recall Bob Marley’s rendition of cornrows from his magical career in the 70′s. But today, many black celebrities also wear cornrows like the famous little Wayne who is no stranger to the lime light.

Fades are a hairstyle that will never go out of style; a fade is in a way like a tailored buzz cut. Many black males wear a fade just for the simple fact of how versatile the hairstyle is. Regardless if you’re a rapper of a successful business man, a fade can compliment any black male or ethnic male’s features

The short and tight look of the past few years is subsiding. Short, but more natural styles are coming on the scene with lengths from 1/2 inch to two inches most popular. Moisturizing conditioners, styling aids and periodic use of clarifying shampoos has allowed hair styles to maintain their luster and shine without depleting moisture. Braids and dreadlocks continue to be the style for longer hair, but fast hair growth or extensions (or growing your hair a very long time) are necessary.

Afros are making a comeback, so don’t be hesitant if you see a 3 foot Afro on a famous rapper or singer. Everyone critiqued Lenny Kravitz when he wittingly wore an Afro in his famous video for American Woman, but now more and more people are bringing back this classic hairstyle from the 60s and 70s.

Cornrows are now a mainstream hairstyle. Started by hip-hop stars and basketball players as a way to keep cool without having to shave your head, black males are not the only ones who have been seen wearing cornrows. Cornrows are a serious of small braids that run down your head almost like a French braid. Singers such as Justin Timberlake have been spotted wearing cornrows.

Also pay attention to the hair product you are using. Put nutrients in your hair that are going to make it healthy. Alcohol free hair products are best. Alcohol dries out the hair. You want instead a good moisturizer conditioner and shampoo.
