Finding Your Market in the Business World

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

It is very difficult to pass a test if you are not familiar with the material covered on the test. In business, it is very hard to succeed (if not impossible) if you are not familiar with your customers. You must be intimately familiar with your target market in order to become a successful entrepreneur.

To know your target market, you have to have an open mind. Many entrepreneurs do a great job of researching their market, but they don’t go into it with an open mind. They go into it thinking that their plan is right and that it will work. When they encountered obstacles, and see information that should tell them that their plan is flawed, they either ignore it or explain it away. Both of which can be deadly to your business.

Let’s go over how to plan your product and get to know your market.

Determine who your market is

When you develop a product or service, you are doing so with the idea that your product or service is needed on the market. For instance, say you have developed a software program that performs a task that previously had to be done by the user. It seems like there is a natural need for that program, right? But you have to investigate more thoroughly before you launch your product.

Ask yourself as many questions about your product as possible. Who will use this product? Why would they use it? Would they continue to use it? How much would they be willing to pay for it?

Once you think you know the answers to theses questions, it is time to verify them with some hard-core research.

Researching your market

The research phase, for many companies, is the make or break point. A well-planned research effort might show you that your product really isn’t needed on the market, at least not right now. Even though that result would be disappointing, it would potentially save you bundles of money in wasted time and production. On the other hand, a poorly executed research effort will not give you the answers you need, which probably will result in wasted time and money.

When conducting your research, whether you do it yourself or you pay someone to do it, you want to again ask those questions that you asked before. Only this time, you are asking your customers, not yourself. Ask the people that you think would use your product if they would, indeed, have a need for it. If so, ask them why they would use it, and how much they would be willing to pay for it.

Here is where having an open mind is so important. As I said, you might learn during the research phase that there really is not a need for your product. If that is what your research is telling you, listen to it. Either scrap the plan or adjust it to meet a current need. Do not ignore the results of the research simply because they are not what you wanted to hear.

Follow up on your research

If your research does reveal a need for your product, and a sizable market for it, then you are on your way to success. But you still have to follow through by delivering a quality product at a reasonable price, and you have to direct it towards your target market.

Use the results of your research to guide your advertising strategy. Design your color printing ads and radio or television ads with your market in mind. Do everything in a way that targets the people that you have identified as your potential customers.

Should You or Should You Not Get Back Together With Your Ex?

Monday, April 28th, 2008

For some people, when a relationship ends, it brings on feeling of loneliness. Even though there may be hard feelings from both persons, it is difficult from feeling this way. It is also does not matter who did the breaking up, those feelings always seem to creep up. It makes you long to get back together with the person you broke up with. This is a natural feeling. For the one who did the breaking up, you probably didn’t think you would not feel this way, but even you may feel like you made a mistake.

If you act on those feelings, you may find yourself in a messy situation. You start to think about them times that things were good. What you did at the park or maybe how you first met. All these things seem more important than why you broke up. Many people think the relationship would have gone differently if they had changed a few things about themselves. Those items that were once a nuisance may not be one anymore many people think.

If you really want to get back with the person you broke up with, it may be a daunting task. This is especially true if you were the instigator and wanted to leave the relationship. Do you think it will be easy to get back with your ex? It may not be as simple as you have played it out in your mind.

When people have been dumped, anger and resentment will set in within a few days of the break up. There is also a possibility that your ex is already moving on, getting over the break up you may have not been over. For that reason, it is best to leave the matter alone.

Should you be the one who was dumped, it may have been because they were not in love with you and wanted to be with someone else or you were not what they expected and not who they wanted to be with. In these cases, you more than likely do not stand a chance.

Sometimes people who have been dumped take it as a sign as something was wrong with them and not the situation. It can mess with their head so much that they work harder to take care of them and forget out why the relationship did fell through. They can ask and receive answers but there is no guarantee that they will see how the situation was even probable. With this in mind, getting back together with the person you broke up with may not be possible.

Should you both give it another go around, never start off where the relationship ended. Treat it as though it is a new relationship. By doing this, you may succeed now where you first failed. Keep the relationship new and inviting. Do not count the first time as times together. Believe it or not, it can help to make some kind of game out of “first time” meeting and go on a “first” date. Sometimes you can get back together with the person you broke up with, you both just need a little more humor in your lives.

Uplifting Experiences Special bras for special occasions

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Gone are the days of constricting corsets and crazy looking contraptions called brassieres. Todays bras are manufactured for comfort and high functionality. If your top half is not up where it should be, the rest of your look will not be curvy and sleek. No woman is confident with a sagging look up top-especially in a prom gown, bridesmaid dress, pagenat gown, sassy little cocktail dress, mother of the bride/groom dress or any special occasion evening dress. Beneath every awsome fitting formal gown is good breast support! There are many options depending on your particular need. We will explore some of the most popular choices of special occasion bras.

Put that roll of duct tape and the band aids down! Yes, it\’s true-pageant queens used duct tape for breast support and band aids to prevent nipple show through. Unsightly indentations from an ill fitting bra under a winning evening gown puts her potential crown at risk. Unfortunately, it was worth sacrificing the precious skin of the breast area! How barbaric! With many types of bras available, there\’s no need to turn to the tool box or medicine cabinet for support!

A convertible bra is a beautiful thing. This type of bra has straps that you can do everything short of going bungee jumping with! It is designed to be worn many different ways beneath many different styles-without buying a separate bra for each! The straps are completly adjustable and removable with metal or plastic hooks. Instead of the traditional stretchy fabric that matches the bra, some have \”invisible\” straps made of clear matte elastic. Small fabric loops are strategically placed on the body of the bra for the bra straps to hook into. This feature allows you to change their placement so they will be hidden under your clothing regardless of the style. For halter styled clothing, only one strap is used. The strap is extended to fit behind your neck, over each shoulder to hook onto the top of the cup of the bra. Let\’s say you have a formal dress with an awesome crisscross feature in back. Unhook each strap from the back, extend and cross, then hook them into the loops spaced out a little farther than the standard loops you removed them from. Grecian inspired single shoulder evening gowns are very popular. Use the strap that is on the same side as the one on your gown. Extend your bra strap to the loop on the opposite side in back and hook. Your sexy strapless cocktail dress has a deep scoop in back. Completely remove both of the shoulder straps and you are all set. Some convertible bras provide with a third bra strap that is longer than the other two. It is specifically made for giving additional support when wearing the bra strapless style. Extend the strap until it stretches across your back then hook it into the loops under each armpit. This pulls the bra closer against your body so you won\’t feel like you\’ll spill out of the front. If this is completely overwhelming, it\’s okay-the bra comes with instructions! Most convertible bras have light to full padding so you needn\’t worry about nipple show through. They are great for support under formal wear and everyday use!

Hip-hip hooray for the push up bra! A ball gown with any type of plunging neckline compliments the look of a voluptuous bustline. Push up bras use specific placement of padding in the cups to enhance your bust. Most push ups come with removable straps and repositionalble pads with velcro on the back. The position of the pads (whether at the sides or on the bottom) depends on the neckline of your formal and the desired look. Side placement of the pads pushes breasts together for the look of deep curvatious cleavage. Evening dresses with a plunging V or keyhole neckline would benefit from side placement. Bottom placement of the pads lifts breasts up (hence the name \”push up\”) to give a full, rounded appearance. Strapless, sweetheart, and deeply rounded necklines work well with this placement. A good push up bra can be somewhat costly. A cheap alternative-shoulder pads inside of your favorite bra! Vintage divas, raid the back of your closets for the 80\’s clothing you won\’t admit to saving and give new life to the shoulder pads!

The new trend in evening gown style is intricate detailing and super sexy body hugging designs. The revealing green dress that J.Lo wore to the Grammys years ago (that her wardrobe specialists TAPED her into) comes to mind! With that said, it seems as if some designs are impossible to wear underclothing with! For women that are uncomfortable going \”au natural\”, the adhesive bra is your answer. Though single use items, they are definately worth the money and peace of mind. The better brands are made of foam with underwire and stick onto your body with clear side tabs. The best adhesion occurs on clean dry skin free of lotions, creams or powders. Swab your skin with alcohol and let dry just before placing on your skin. If the bra doesn\’t come with alcohol pads, be sure to have some of your own. Fuller breasted women used to be excluded from this type of bra. They are now made to offer support up to about a size 38D.

Another adhesive alternative is a silicone stick on bra. It is quite costly and usually non-returnable. Think this option through well before purchasing. On the positive side, when kept clean, you will have many uses without the need to purchase adhesive strips. The adhesive is made into the cups which renews itself after being washed. There are no side tabs at all on this bra so you have complete freedom! Most have a front hook for ease in application and removal. It also provides cleavage control. A bonus to wearing this type of bra is the addition of one-maybe two-cup sizes. Unfortunately, fuller breasted women are excluded from this option as the sizes end at a mid C cup.

For women that are comfortbale going \”au natural\” but desire a smooth look, breast petals are for you. They are adhesive silicone covers that prevent nipple show through. A small non stick silicone pad covers the nipple. Stretchy fabric surrounds the pad containing skin friendly adhesive. They are afforable single use items packaged in sets of four.

Cheers to you looking and feeling great on your special night!

Bluetooth - Beautiful and Simple Wireless Technology

Monday, April 7th, 2008

In 1994, a team of researcher from Ericsson Mobile, led by Dr. Jaap Haartsen and Dr. Sven Mattisson, did a feasibility study on low power wireless connectivity to eliminate cable, which later developed into Bluetooth technology in September 1998 by Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba were the founding members of SIG.

Technical Detail

Bluetooth uses short-range radio frequency (RF) technology to transmit voice and data that varies from 2.402 GHz. to 2.480 GHz, a frequency range reserved for medical, industrial and scientific devices. The effective range of the device is around 10 meters, whereas the high-powered Bluetooth will enable range of 100m. It is very unlike for interference from other radio frequency (RF) devices, because of the following reasons:

* It switches frequencies at the rate of 1600hops/sec.
* Data packets are very small.

Each Bluetooth enabled devices can communicate with up to seven other devices within its transmission radius.

Power consumption in Bluetooth is low as compared to the other devices such as Wi-Fi. Bluetooth radios draw 0.3mA in stand by mode and 30mA during the data transmission.

Bluetooth version 1.2 used to transmit 1 Mbit/s, whereas it increases significantly up to 3 Mbps in version 2.0. According to the new specification, Bluetooth 3.0 will adopt ultra-wideband (UWB) radio technology. This will allow for a very fast data transfer of up to 480 Mbit/s.

How does it Work?
The electronic conversation happens automatically between the Bluetooth enabled devices that come within their range. Once the network is established and conversation takes place they create a Personal-Area Network (PAN), commonly known as Piconet. If you have several Bluetooth enabled components, e.g. mobile phone, personal computer, mouse and printer, each of them form their own Piconet. All of the devices have their own range of addresses. When a computer is turned on, it sends signals to the other devices requesting responses with an address. Since mobile phone has that address, it responds and establishes a network. Even though it receives signals from the other systems, it ignores it, as it does not belong to the same network. As we have discussed earlier, it is very unlikely that two networks will have the same frequency at the same time.

Bluetooth Applications
The applications of Bluetooth include:

* Wireless networking between computers

* Wireless communication between computer input and output devices

* Internet access computers and PDA using mobile phones

* Wireless control and communication between mobile phone and hands free headset.

Security

Wherever wireless connection is concerned, security is a major issue. Bluetooth operates on three different security models:

* Model 1: No security required, i.e. No Authorization or Authentication is required

* Model 2: Provide security in the Service Level once the channel is established, i.e. No Authorization is required, only Authentication is required

* Model 3: Provide security in the link level, before the channel is established, i.e. Both Authorization and Authentication are required.

While using Bluetooth if the user enables ‘non-discoverable’ mode, he will avoid connecting with other Bluetooth devices. There are three major threats involved using this technology:

* Bluejacking: Allow one Bluetooth user to send business card to other Bluetooth user within 10m. of radius

* Bluebugging: Allow hackers to access other’s phone remotely and its feature.

* Car Whisper: Allow hackers to send audio to others and receive audio from others.

Using devices at home is a good way to avoid security breachs in public.

Conclusion

Bluetooth technology is already widely using in the industry as it has the ability to handle both voice and data transmission simultaneously. It is allowing the end users to enjoy a variety of technology innovation such as wireless printing and fax, hands-free headset, and synchronizing mobile and laptop. Future of the Bluetooth technology lies in providing quality of service, enabling high quality audio and video data transfer, providing greater bandwidth and greater distance in a highly secure environment.
