What’s Keeping You From Having a Flatter Belly?

Having firm and sexy abs is one of the fitness obsessions of many men and women today, the proverbial holy grail of working out. While a perfect six-pack is not impossible to achieve, it requires time, patience, and determination on your part as you’ll do a lot of work to maintain a flat belly.

Even if you do thousands of crunches everyday to have a firmer and flatter stomach, these are useless if you are not doing it right and if you are not conscious of the factors that keep you from having the sexy abs you always wanted.

To help you in your quest for a firmer and flatter belly, the following is a list of factors that hinders you from achieving your fitness plan:

  • Fats all over your body.

A firm belly is useless if you still have extra pounds in some parts of you body that need to get rid off. How will you be able to comfortably and proudly show off abs if there are layers of fats detracting from it? What you can do to simultaneously rid off unwanted pounds from your body is to do interval training as your main workout plan. You can use a stationary bike two to three times a week, applying speedy pedalling and rest period intervals. You can definitely trim more fats in your mid-section in less than two weeks compared to a slow and steady cycling pace.

  • Eating the wrong food.

Even if you have a rigorous cardio workout plan, this is useless without practicing proper daily diet. If you want an effective diet that can work well with your cardio workout, better cut down your calorie consumption. In addition, your love for coffee can also be beneficial as this can help trim unwanted fats in your stomach. Caffeine can also boost your metabolism. However, try to avoid drowning yourself in coffee, as too much caffeine in the body can also lead to health complications.

  • Doing the wrong workout moves.

No matter how rigorous your workout plan is, again, this won’t give the results you want if you are doing the routines the wrong way. For this dilemma, it is best to seek the help of a fitness trainer to guide and teach you how to do the routines correctly. Your fitness trainer can also help you come up with a workout plan that suits your needs. Make sure that you inform your trainer that your main goal is to flatten your belly. This way, it will be easier for him to customize a fitness plan based on your goals.

  • Abdominal muscles are used rarely.

Another factor that can keep you from having a flatter and firmer belly is when you rarely use or move your abdominal muscles. You need to keep your abs constantly moving. One way for you to keep your core muscles contracted is to practice deep breathing exercise. Doing this will not only help flatten your belly, it can also strengthen your torso as well as improve your posture.
