Get on Board and Enjoy the Ship
October 5th, 2006 by Xavier MediaAre you getting ready to go on a cruise? There are hundreds of things that you can do when you are in port, as I’m sure that you are finding out from all of the cruise literature that you were given. There certainly isn’t a shortage of excursions that you can take and I have been on my fair share of them but there is an activity that you may be overlooking because you really aren’t told about it. Why don’t you try staying on the Ship?
There are many people that automatically get off the ship when it goes into port, I know that I have been guilty of this myself in the past. It just seems that when the ship stops and you are there you just automatically start following the masses down the gangplank and off the boat, but things on the boat do not stop just because the majority of the people are not there. Sure some of the activities may slow down a bit but if you look a little you can find a lot of things that you can do on the ship, especially because nobody else is there.
The first thing that I noticed when I stayed on the ship the first time is that the pool and play areas are almost deserted, this is great because you can grab a seat of your choice and really soak in the sunshine and enjoy some quiet time reading a book while nobody else is around. The food is also flowing just as freely while the ship is at port so you will be able to enjoy a nice quiet meal and the views are wonderful out the dining room windows.
There are also some activities that are still going on while the ship is at port so take the time to enjoy something like dance lessons or a cooking class. You will not be in a crowd and will learn more and will be more likely to enjoy yourself.
So when you are on the ship and it stops at port make sure you doing walk the plank. Stay on board and enjoy the ship!
