Enjoy Fall in Pennsylvania

November 4th, 2006 by Xavier Media

It is getting to be the time of year that many people that live in the state of Pennsylvania wait all year to see, that is autumn and the changing of the leaves. I grew up in Pennsylvania and have always loved that time of year. There were so many thing to see and do around that time that it literally filled the senses. We got to enjoy everything from the drives through the mountains with their bursts of yellow, red and orange leaves, the harvest time of many of the local crops and cool things like the tapping of the Maple trees for their sap. If you are planning on visiting Pennsylvania this autumn then here are a few tips to help you to make the most of your trip.

1. Plan Ahead - Many local hotels and motels fill up early during the peak leaf changing season because so many people travel in from out of town to see the change. One time my wife and I were coming to the area but not to see the leaves and we had a very hard time finding a room because they had all booked early so make sure you plan ahead and reserve a room.

2. Bring the Right Clothes - The right clothes in Pennsylvania in Autumn are everything. Sometimes it’s hot, sometimes it’s cold, sometimes it might even snow, so make sure that you bring a variety of clothes because not only might the weather change from day to day, a warm day can turn into a cool evening rather quickly.

So enjoy your trip to Pennsylvania to see the fall leaves change. Take your time on the roads, especially when they are wet because those leaves become like ice when they get wet. Grab yourself a great map and go exploring. Pennsylvania is a great place to be.
